Christianity Etc › Re: God’s Absolute Holiness by Image123(m): 8:36am On Oct 15, 2011
Children of God are called to be saints. We are saints and should live as saints on earth, not as sinners. Mere men live as sinners, they usually refrain from holiness with smooth phrases like "nobody holy pass" and "i'm not perfect" and "he without sin cast the stone". But God has called us to holiness in this present world. By God's grace, yes we can.

I think if a christian's not strong enough in that he's not been developing spiritually, or is ignorant, or doesn't pray, it's possible not to be delivered from evil, evil in this case been evil spirits.
Paul said we wrestle, we're at war. Anyone whose not careful or putting on the armour can be a casualty, christian or no christian.

Absolute holiness? You must be Kidding grin
@OP, thanks for sharing.
Like the OP said, God is absolutely holy. It baffles me when men try to use emotion and logic to find fault in God and His words/actions. It baffles further when christians begin to consider such argument, and start attempting to 'cover God's sins'. Such little understanding and slowness of heart.
God is absolutely holy and wants us also to be holy. He says be ye holy for I am holy. Be perfect as your Father in heaven. God expects godly holiness from us though, not Godlike holiness.

Hmmnn I beleive in God and my God is a gentle God and not a God of confusion. He has given us wisdom to know the right from wrong so please answer the guys question jo. The Bible was written by peopleof that region according to what happened in that region. Im happy a nigerian has the common sense to ask a question may be in the question he will find the truth if there is a true xtian here. However from the thread i can tell there are a lot of people on here that have been brainwashed in to a one track mind. they live in fear cause the pstors have told them lies about the bible.

YOU DONT NEED ANY SPIRITUALISM TO UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE EXCEPT IF YOU WANT TO MODIFY THE MEANING OF THE STATEMENT. gOOD EXAMPLE. WHERE IN THE Bible did God say you must pay a tenth of you salary? If you read the whole verse of all the places tithe was metioned, it was for a particular incident. Bot my pastors don turn am to VAT.
ogaju007:
@ Gazby ; Look at you sitting down there and manufacturing stories from your imagination which is a repository of what you have been fed since childhood or whenever you became a xtian. How are you so sure Adam and Eve were the only ones created? who told you bout Adam and eve? Who brought you the so called Good News? Do you know why the brought it to Africa? Do you know the history behind the Roman Cath, Anglican and Politics? I guess not. What is Research? What a shame? Some people came to sell their culture and we threw ours out of the window. Look at the Chinese, Indians, Japanese, have they thrown their culture out of the window? We see silly pastors bringing the Gospel to where it originated from because they want to recieve Tithe in pounds and Dollars. Why not take it to Iran, Iraq, Saudi, Afghanistan, yeye people.
Picture's coming out of the dark room. So, are you a christian?

@ Image

All this big grammar and we still don't know your stand. grin

God commands us to love yes, but will he ask you to marry someone you don't love? He asks us to love everybody in fact, but that is different from a spouse isn't it? Or are you saying it's one and the same thing?

I agree you may need to 'force' yourself to love someone in certain circumstances (when they are hurting you for example) but do you start out on that basis?
Oga you say na you invent grammar, whey the big grammar wey i post na? Sometimes you love instantly, but it's not everytime. Humans are not exact science. Not all our best friends, best teachers, most loved possessions were love at first sight. Love can grow, and can be cultivated, it can also be lost. What if you love your spouse before 'God leads you' to it, and lose that love after? The most important thing is not the courtship, or wedding, the most important is the marriage. Many focus on perfect splendid solid courtship and wedding filled with love. They plenty for magistrate court. God's command is to love. Yes, God can direct you to someone you don't initially love if you're interested in God's view, that is.
Christianity Etc › Re: Can God Lead You To Marry Someone You Don't Love? by Image123(m): 4:36pm On Oct 12, 2011
God commands us to love. They say that's the greatest command. Infact, husbands are commanded to love their wives. What the manual's saying is that it might not always be spontaneous. Love is more than feeling, love can be cultivated, and love grows. Sometimes you love instantly, sometimes gradually. Love can also be lost and left, like a certain church left their love. If we intend to keep God's commandments, then we can obey the command to love someone we do not love.
