Baba mi, how far?. . . .
i no be your Baba o, soon now you'll be calling me 'Papa' like one of them church folks ehn.
The witch thing is also a judgement. No one's expected to put judgement into his own hands as a Christian. You leave it to God, and to the courts. Yes, God's against witches, sin, and all disobedience to Him/His Word. He's not changed. But in the NT, we strive for salvation of lives, mercy, pardon, conversion, not judgement. Jesus came to be judged for ALL sins. He's taken the place of the witch, homo, thief, etc. That's the good news/gospel. But each sinner needs to accept His sacrifice and repent. You either take Jesus' death/punishment for you, or take it yourself come judgement day. One would have thought the better choice was obvious.
On women preaching, i'm not the final judge, God is. Is not my position to say this person is condemned or not. What i can do is advice that we all follow what we see in God's Word and ask for God's grace to live in an acceptable and pleasing way to Him.

You misunderstand the scripture dude. It the bible says the giver is more blessed . That doesn't mean the receiver is poorer. It simply means. That no matter how much you give, what you recieve is far greater. Get it?

Secondly it's not just about listening to pastor chris. It's about the atmosphere I carry. If I constsntly give I also constsntly recieve ,it can be from n unbeliever , God puts my desire in the hearts of men. So either he listen to pastor chris or not.  He will give to me. It is about what I'd done. If I find myself in Saudi , they will still give to me.
What scripture? Did i mention anything about anyone being poorer? Is all your dream about someone giving to you or your church/pastor?
i've already got what i needed sha, thanks. i.e it is possible to be more blessed than you are without living in your realm.

The fool has said in his heart, "there is no God".
The bigger fool opened his mouth and said "there is no God".
The biggest fool typed and posted saying "there is no God".
Why do people not fear God, why?

Sorry am lost cos I really don't understand what you are saying here, but he is the passage. . .

Is this a moral or ceremonial law?. . . .It seems straight forward to me. . .

Ok fair enough since you say you judge no man. . . .I was talking about others that use the bible as a basis for condemning homosexuals while leaving out other parts from the same bible. . . .
O, thanks for supplying the passages jayriginal and mazaje.
What i mean is that one's shouldn't for instance take a passage where Jesus sends His disciples to preach only to Israelites in isolation, neglecting that He sent them to the whole world in another passage. Scriptures have to be compared with scriptures.
The passages you quoted confirm that the punishment was meted out by a kind of court, it involves judges and elders. Now this is a judgement/punishment, not the kind of law for everyone like thou shalt not kill or steal.
On homosexuality, i've said it i'm not the judge. God is ultimate judge, and make no mistake, He will punish homosexuals in hell fire. But i don't have a duty to stone them. i'll stick with the courts and mind more important business.

No, what do you take "deeper life" for; a place where to find one "rich and influential" person would a big testimony or poor people are raised?
Anyway if you must know am aware that we have a remarkable number of "Influential" persons in "deeper life"
i couldn't understand what you've just been tempted to post?

Joagbaje:
Take it easy with me ,you don't have to use hard word to communicate . I may be right ,you may be right. I may say things in a way to get people's attention to what I'm saying but not to get popularity.

.Salvation is baptism. The holyghost baptised us into christ.  that is what I refer to as baptism of the holyghost.

1 Corinthians 12:13
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

What people generally call baptism of the holyghost is actually an infilling. So at salvation the holyghost is already in us. But the infilling hadnt taken place until we ask to be filled, then empowerment takes place.

So when jesus breathed the holyghost upon them , salvation took place, but the infilling took place later with tongues of fire at Pentecost.
Sorry i sounded too harsh. i see your 'point' now. It's all a play of words, i'm not arguing on that. The important thing sha is to be TRULY filled with the real Holy Ghost.

nlMediator
Thanks, i appreciate the mediating.

@mazaje
Can you please provide the passage on the children who disobey their parents? Note though that the scriptures is taken as one whole i.e with consideration to every scripture. It's not an exact science.
On your homosexuality question, i agree and all christians agree on what the court decides on homosexuals as their judgement. Whether homosexuality is right or wrong is another issue. But their judgement is their business, not mine. I judge no man.
Christianity Etc › Re: Following The Bible by Image123(m): 6:33pm On Sep 21, 2011
@AIO
Moral laws are not cleansing. Only the blood of Jesus and the Word of God cleanse us today. God/Jesus is not disinterested in the ceremonial. Instead He has fulfilled the ceremonial as our High Priest.
Christianity Etc › Re: Following The Bible by Image123(m): 5:50pm On Sep 21, 2011
On scripture verses that you quoted, you mostly do not understand what's been said or you're limited in knowledge in thinking that christians do not obey God. I'd handle the scriptures one by one later as you present your queries.

He is most blessed of course.and he knows. That is scriptural truth , he had been doing things like this , and he knows the principles . He shared strange testimonies with me .
So is it safe to assume that one can be more blessed than you in a church like deeper life without having to be saturated with pastor chris-like teachings?
Christianity Etc › Re: Following The Bible by Image123(m): 5:12pm On Sep 21, 2011
@mazaje and co,
If you're going to gain ANYTHING through your questionings, it'll help you to be calm and at least focused, instead of foaming out all your confusions and God-hate thoughts as they come. Any fool can condemn, criticize and complain, don't you think? Try to take things one step at a time, nobody's here to answer all your questions. We're all learning i hope? Because unbelievers cannot process much spiritual information, and yet they usually behave like they know it all.
Now, you should notice that i said the OT laws are BROADLY divided into two. It's a broad/general classification we're on, try to grasp that, there are other classes. Ceremonial laws involve rites, ceremony, ritual, usually involves temple/priest activities and are aimed as a sort of cleansing.
Moral laws involve basically what is good and what is bad.
Tithing is a form of giving/offering to God. Giving is moral.
Children are still expected to obey/honour their parents. This is a moral law. The punishment for disobedience is a judicial law. You don't just pick stones at your fancy and begin to stone people, it involved a kind of court. Today, we have our courts and we're subject to their rulings as the Bible commands. Moreso, Jesus came and told us not to pre-occupy ourselves with judging others, remember? Instead, we now live with power provided by the new covenant for grace, forgiveness, truth and love.

Good! You've seen the first one. Now on being served a court notice, what's the nature of the service of notice? This is nigeria, and things don't work the normal way. Where's the court, what state? What state is the woman? Can you confirm she got any message? In the next sentence, we see the man asked to give the woman's phone number to ESTABLISH communication. Yet she's been supposedly served. I wait to hear from the other side of the story before passing judgement abeg. To me, anyone who tells lies on God is a dangerous person and can be lying on human beings.
Christianity Etc › Re: Following The Bible by Image123(m): 11:16pm On Sep 20, 2011
i'd love to be involved in this, hopefully mazaje would not run away as usual. You have an habit of disappearing it seems.
To start with, the Word of God is living, not set in stone but written on flesh. It follows that you'd encounter 'complexities' similar to encountering a human being. Another thing is poor understanding of the Word of God, caused by varying factors like sin, adam's nature, self-will, spiritual maturity, teaching etc.
Another thing is that old testament laws are broadly divided into moral laws and ceremonial laws. No law saves us by the way. We are expected to keep/obey moral laws though many christians do not know this unfortunately. On the other hand, we're not required to keep ceremonial laws, it's already been kept/fulfilled/obeyed/by-passed for us by Jesus Christ.ist.

I didn't know your question was that important to you? Let's look at it.

Baptism of the holyghost is actually bring born again. That's what happened when Jesus rose. The Pentecost experience was an infilling of the holyghost .
The baptism of the Holy Ghost is NOT the same thing as been born again. I'd have thought that as a typographic error but knowing your ilk, i know it's deliberate of you to gain popularity and attention by controversy and ludicrous statements.

^i should be asking what you're talking about. Nobody vacated anything for 34years. If you read the OP, the man's just been asked for his wife's phone number. How do you even know she's aware of anything. How do you know the man's to be taken more seriously than the woman?

Obviously, speak to/correct him, and also inform the church. He's an hypocrite and a sinner. He shouldn't be handling stuff in church. Plus what're you doing in his house. The husband has not even accused the wife of Immorality not to mention caught her with immorality. Why have you judged her as immoral? Have you even heard her side of the lie?
And o, she's been sent to the guy to make him fall after 34years and 4children? He didn't see that in 1977 when he was probably dreaming and hearing and telling everyone that God revealed her to him as his missing bone. Or when he was vowing for better for worse till DEATH do them part? What real efforts did he make since when they separated? It's easy to be emotional and 'sympathize' with the poor man ehn. Until you find out how greedily rich and wicked he actually is. Now he's seen a 43year old divorcee of a disciple. Who knows who broke her own home? Who knows their plan?
