PoliticsRe: Hardship: Stop Spending Money On Prisoners - Reno Omokri Tells FG by Immatex(m): 12:14pm On Jun 14, 2024
Remman:
There's sense in that, as some prisoners would even get skill once they free them. I love this idea, and it will help in discouraging people from doing crime.
There's hardly any Nigerian Prison that hasn't got a prisons farm just so you know.
Inmates in Nigeria prisons are always working with hard labour either in a prisons farm or at the Warden farm.

Like another person already said, if prisoners build roads for free, millions of job seekers will remain jobless plus politicians and contractors will be the biggest beneficiaries not the masses.

Ronu or whatever that mindless interloper is called makes no sense when critically examined.

This need to sensationalize for the purpose of denigrating is annoying. A makeshift as against the regular board or plastic to be held by four people is making the news because of wheels?? Hmm
So the unprofessional attitude and disposition of the men wheeling the injuried player is okay to you?

PoliticsRe: Marshall Abigail Katung, Emerges As The First Black African Mayor Of UK City by Immatex(m): 8:20am On May 26, 2024
My wife was with her last week as part of her work engagement.

I usually see her and other ward councillors inspecting ongoing city beautiful projects.

Here politicians work not loot. Her husband is a Senator and most likely sponsored the after party they held in the city centre with lots of senators from Nigeria. I do hope as senator he can help his constituents by mirroring the services Leeds city council provide for residents here and not just celebrating the wife.

Check very well, the roofs, floors are delapidated
Of course they are. Caused by a combination of factors like poor design, finishing, zero routine or scheduled maintenance/refurbishment, and deliberate defacing and damage by the very students it was built to serve and who should know better.

Enjoy your youth, boy before it fizzles away as it will surely. Youth and the prime of life are also vanity.

Do whatever seems good in your eyes and follow the desires of your heart. But just remember that God will ask questions at the end of it all.

Who destroyed the ceilings?

Government is neither here nor there and citizens including children, the so called 'leaders of tomorrow' are no better.

It's a nope to destroy public infrastructure, destroy the very little provided by an inept government.

God cannot help Nigeria if Nigeria won't help itself.
PropertiesRe: N130million Newly Built 4bedroom Semi Detached Duplex by Immatex(m): 3:24pm On May 15, 2024
Houses are cheap in Nigeria.

Thus is less than £80,000 and you can't get a 2 bedroom apartment here with this amount here.

But, I no go still buy sha, the fear of demolition is real.

We were recently moved by AEDC from Band 'D' to Band 'A'. In fact, they move us without notice.

Sometimes they will move us to Band 'C', all without notice. I just bought a prepaid unit of N1,500 this morning and they gave me only 6.7 unit, in this harsh economy.

I got 41.1 unit last month with same N1,500 when we were in Band 'C'

How this thing come reach your chest na? Why chest go dry pain you for this small matter?
Please drink water ooh.

6.7 unit can't last me more than two days for a minimal use.

Not just about news reporting but as a country we are behind in record capturing, keeping (archiving), reproducing accurate records, and data integrity.

As a country, we can't accurately say to permissible degrees of error what our road traffic fatalities are for a range of years because we don't have a good data capturing mechanism nor a working data retention system or bank. We simply just take a guess.

You still won't pay even if you earn a million Naira monthly.

You just want hand-outs and freebies. That's your definition of a good government.

Nigerians want 24 hours power but aren't ready to pay for it.

For them, 24 hours power supply should be free.

Reason why they hate a working system

NowisGod109:
Dhl won't deliver any package that needs custom clearance especially when it involves money until total fee is paid before they deliver to your doorstep
That's in Nigeria. I track my orders and know when it gets to different international airports, go through customs and gets delivered to me without my input whatsoever.
I usually purchase gadgets and appliances online and DHL or any other logistics company deliver them from abroad without any hassle to me.
If I desire to buy an iPhone 15 from the US today and have it shipped to my UK address, I see no reason for UK customs to call to come clear the item. Except this practice is only applicable to Nigeria.
PhonesRe: My Bro Was Charged 1.4million To Clear Iphone 15 & I-watch From DHL Ikeja by Immatex(m): 6:10pm On Mar 19, 2024
Why is DHL not delivering the parcel to your address?

Is the airport your address?

Shouldn't DHL ensure your paid parcel get to the right address and receipent?

I order thing from US to UK and it's delivered to my doorstep
PoliticsRe: Gov Alia Accuses APC Chairman, Agada Of Invading Benue With Gunmen by Immatex(m): 5:49am On Mar 02, 2024
Many Nigerians are of the opinion that their lives will improve and get better should religious leaders contest and win key political positions like governors and president.

This so-called Reverend father Governor of Benue state is prove that even well intended righteous religious leaders can't solve human issues by occupying high political offices.

The current Senate President is also a religious leader.

Who still uses this kind of ancient laptop for official business.

This company, what are they into? What were you doing for them?

By the way, your dismissal was unjust and refusal to pay you fully is a criminal offence. Unfortunately, you can do little to nothing because you are in Nigeria.

But pray they report you to the police for refusing to release the laptop, then you can table your case to the police and get a lawyer in an attempt to get justice.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: There Is A Right Way To Terminate Employment, But Most Organizations Choose by Immatex(m): 8:14am On Feb 27, 2024
Very sound advice to Nigerian companies!

Many companies have gotten away with wrongful termination because labour laws are not strictly enforced.

When I got laid off from a multinational Nigerian company due to rightsizing (down sizing really), I was very well compensated in millions of Naira. It made it worthwhile.

I quickly joined another Nigerian firm, not a foreign multinational like my previous employer, when I resigned, they were angry and delayed my exit pay and didn't remit my pension.

I had to threaten them before they cleared me.

Because of issues like this, I strive to secure employment in well established successful and long-standing multinationals where global standard HR is practised.
RomanceRe: What Are Those Things That Are Normal To Women But Mind Blowing To Men? by Immatex(m): 1:15am On Feb 27, 2024
MrBrownJay1:
- men and women are different... thus why when men use logical sense to make a point (in a discussion/argument) while women instead use their emotions.

- women would generally focus on being LOVED in a relationship, while men would focus on being RESPECTED.

- women would generally want a big fancy wedding for the whole world to see their fairytale wedding, while men wouldnt mind getting a 1000naira wedding (if they could). MEN wouldnt even get married if it was not such a life necessity for women.

- if MEN get unrestricted access to a woman's coochie, they wouldnt get married to that woman and would instead leave with her (as a "married" couple) forever. as the saying goes:"why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?"

- (in Nigeria) women are taught since they were born that they have no value and that their life goal is to be married to a man. while men are taught that they have no value unless they are financially successful.

- sadly, men foolishly believe that their whole focus in life should be "making money" (as women would flock to them if/when they eventually make it), forgetting that a foul poor man would simply turn into a foul rich man... and the only women such man would attract is goldiggers and/or the leftovers desperate women (with past due bodyclock).

- being broke is no big deal to a woman because they really believe that their worth lies between their legs, while if a man is broke these same women would be quick to shame that man (as if they were better than him)

- some women still dont understand that time is NEVER on their side as there will always be a younger/fitter/finer babe out there that a man can settle with (even if that man is well into is 80/90s (if in doubt, ask Regina)
These things only work this way in Nigeria.

Women are so very different outside Nigeria and most West Africa Countries.

Women in Europe don't look forward to marriage and weddings like Nigerian girls do.
Women here do not depend on a man's wealth, they grind their asses and make their own money.
They're not as emotional as Nigerian girls are. They use their heads more than their hearts here.

Men and women are not under pressure to marry. Marriage is a very casual union here. Most couples are in civil partnerships or just co-habiting. They can call it quite without dramas anytime.

Unlike Nigeria, the society here frowns at the get rich syndrome we suffer in Africa. There's zero tolerance for unexplained wealth.

It will really do Nigeria good to have a life re-orientation, because in so many ways, we are behind the rest of the world.
