The people of Orsu and Ihiala areas brought this on themselves.

I worked and lived in Ihiala whilst spending my weekend with my family in Okigwe so I made regular travels to and from Ihiala via Orlu and Orsu.

The people of Orlu, Orsu and Ihiala like some other LGAs and villages in both Imo and Anambra states embraced IPOB with open arms. Allowed them to take over their forest without complain in the guise of fighting off herdsmen. They even christened them Umuchukwu and supported them to sack police stations and LG headquarters. Orsu LG headquarters was even painted in Biafra colours and was an operational base.

The support from the people was so much that before soldiers coming from either Owerri or Onitsha will reach Orlu town or Ihiala junction, word would have reached the criminals and they will take cover and mix among the population.

It took at least 2 years in 2022/2023 before the same people so IPOB as a terror organisation that it is. By then, it was too late.

Orlu and Orsu now closely resemble towns in the 1970s after the war.

I resigned my job at Ihiala, sold my properties in the East, packed my family and left the country with no plan of returning because of fear of the unknown.

- At death, the breath which makes us living souls goes back to its source - God. Psalms 104:29. Any hope of that soul coming back to life again rest with God and Christ through a resurrection not reincarnation.
The spirit therefore is not a person but an inanimate force that keeps also alive which God blew into Adam’s nostrils and through which we breathe and live.
- The Spirit is the same for both humans and animals - Ecclesiastics 3:18-22. So when humans and animals die, they go to the same place because they have both same spirit.
- Death is not the end of it all for humans who are faithful to God. For them, death is a temporary setback which is why God and Jesus refer to it as sleep. For many now dead, there’s a hope of a resurrection to endlessly life in a world free from sin, crime, war, wickedness and death.

In 2021 my good friend who owned a small car bumper and mirror repair shop in Okigwe informed me of his ill fated decision to seek greener pastures in Libya of all places on earth.
I pleaded with him to have a change of heart and insisted it’s a decision he will definitely regret but of course I couldn’t succeed to persuade him against his travel. I even asked him to sign his death warrant and handover to his family.
The journey to Libya through the desert took 3 weeks before arriving his final destination. I already feared the worst during this time. Well, he reached out to me after 3 weeks.
He immediately started his trade in Libya, at first praising the country in many areas like constant electricity but soon began to see Libya for what it really was - a lawless country.
He did make some money as the Libya Dinar is about 10x of Naira.
I advised to gather whatever he has and return to Nigeria especially since last year but he kept refusing and procrastinating until some months back, his job was demolished and he was rendered jobless for months.
We speak weekly but I was too busy last week and I didn’t call or hear from him only for the wife to call me today informing me that my friend has been arrested and sent to a prison in Libya of all places.
Only recently I made contact with someone another friend in Kuwait who say he can assist him with work permit and job in Kuwait. Just hope Kuwait is nothing like Libya.
But now in detention, not sure what the future holds out for him. I just pray he returns Nigeria alive at the least.

Quite the opposite in the UK, the coin’s denomination of their currency is even more common than the notes.

Coming from Nigeria where coins are now taboo, I still find it strange accepting coins when I make sales, preferring card payments instead. But a British man will pay you £20 in coins and you dare not refuse him goods or services because he got no cash or card except clearly written card only businesses.

I think I already got lots of people who clarified and gave answer to my question.
And just you know, I have no need for any sort of loan or handout from the Nigerian government. I also don’t know anyone who will be needing this student loan and allowance. So I don’t see where your harassment is coming from.
You guys should learn to be at peace with yourselves and others both on and offline.
Trust me, you feel better being at peace than being agitated all the time, anger can cause or exacerbate stomach ulcers.
