The transmission station at Okigwe which was fully ready to take off was left fallow for years because a community in Umuahia refused to allow transmission cables pass through their so-called sacred forest.

Another excuse I was given was that the NNPC Mega station in same Umuahia was sitting in the way of the alternate transmission towers right if way.

That facility in Okigwe has become completely vandalised.

I have seen lorries parked inside the premises and the electric transmission equipments and materials loaded into the lorries.

Even with an Army and police check points in very close proximity.

But the poor and the rich, educated and uneducated, politicians and masses, of Nigeria contribute to the retrogression of the country in their own way.

i recently lost my job last month as a result of my gambling addiction as i used money giving to me by my colleague for procurement to place a bet, she later found out but despite my pleas i was still sacked.
i currently hate myself so much right now that i just want to end my life.

everyone seems to have abandoned me, and i feel so hopeless and contemplating suicide as i speak i dont know how or were my next meal would come from and i have backloads of debts hanging on my neck.
please assist me

Gambling even thou not expressly spoken off in the Bible is an addiction motivated by greed. Luke 12:15, Jesus asked us to beware of every sort of greed and guard against them.
Exodus 20:17 command that you must desire anything that belongs to your fellow man, gambling fuels the desire to be like your fellow or take what is your fellows.
1 Corinthians 10:24 asked us to seek the advantage of others not just for ourselves. Gambling rewards you by taking money from others who have lost, so you are seeking the death of others by gambling.
Gambling is simply putting your gold coins in a bag with holes, you will come to poverty.
Gambling is also an evidence of laziness.
Greediness breeds discontent, leaving people unsatisfied with their financial status and robbing them of their happiness. “A lover of silver will never be satisfied with silver, nor a lover of wealth with income.”—Ecclesiastes 5:10
One proverb states: “An inheritance obtained first by greed will not be a blessing in the end.” (Proverbs 20:21)
With its focus on easy wealth, gambling nurtures a love of money—something that the Bible identifies as “a root of all sorts of injurious things.” The desire for money can easily become an overpowering influence in a person’s life, leading to intense anxiety and damaging one’s faith in God. Figuratively speaking, the Bible describes those ensnared by the love of money as having “stabbed themselves all over with many pains.”—1 Timothy 6:10.
“Those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge men into destruction and ruin.”—1 Timothy 6:9.
So fellow, you can only break free from your Gambling addiction by resolving to come under the might hand of God, and living in accord with His divine wisdom as outlined in the Holy writings.
1 John 5:2,3 says: "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and carry out his commandments. For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome,"
I will leave you to now think deeply and make your decision, whatever you decide will determine your future outcome, but allow the inspired and trustworthy words of Proverbs 19:7-11 to be your guide whilst you think.
Proverbs 19:7-11 says: The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring strength. The reminder of Jehovah is trustworthy, making the inexperienced one wise. Not long ago in the same Uturu, IPOB terrorist killed a man an acquaintance named John from a village called Achara in Uturu. John and the wife was adopted at his Beer parlour, he was later killed and beheaded, the wife witnessing his horrific death.

John's offense which I suppose is same offence of this man was being a local grassroot politician and a staunch supporter of Uche Ogah who hails from Uturu.

It remains to be seen how Igbos and the East will develop as this descend to self destruct continues. Uturu and Okigwe are presently ravaged by the terror activities of IPOB, only an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty prevails bringing economic growth to a standstill.

This is really not a good time to be Igbo!

I had similar experience of elevator free fall while I was inside at a Hotel in Lagos, can't remember the name now.

I was inside when a power outage occurred and the elevator fell from third floor to the ground floor.

It felt like I took a jump from a three floor height. Power was restored quickly and I came out and used the stairs. I stopped using the elevator.

The hotel is opposite a rail station in Lagos.

Mainland Hotel Lagos.
