PoliticsRe: Did 'Biafran' Soldiers Shoot People At Lekki? by Inception(m): 8:30pm On Oct 23, 2020
vincentini:
I saw a video of two or three people dressed as soldiers walking up to a barricade and shooting into the air or something.

Many of us saw that particular video.

I wondered who actually recorded it because the person was obviously standing behind the 'soldiers' as they were shooting, based on the footage.

Were those actually Nigerian army soldiers, or were they 'Biafran soldiers' dressed in military gear to make them look like Nigerian soldiers??

I ask because the Nigerian military has said it did not deploy any troops to Lekki Toll Gate.

The proximity of the person recording the video to the soldiers also makes it very suspicious.

Did Nnamdi Kanu and his gang organize this whole 'shooting' incident to give the Nigerian army a bad name, and embarrass the federal govt, or to create chaos across the land?

I don't believe they actually killed anyone, but maybe they just wanted to create some chaos and embarrassment for the FG?
Your stupidity is legendary.

Bombiday:
Boss that excuse is flimsy. I checked luvinhubby's profile and he has his shop address there, also OP says he has been able to reach him using other people's numbers, if he had that alternative strategy on hand in the first place just to make accusations, why not just take the part to the shop and use another number to call and inform him that he is at his shop and dropping the non usable part off to get a refund or a replacement. At least that way there's a next step, now it becomes "Lubinhubby has refused to refund me or provide a replacement" versus what is currently here which is half baked at best. Now drumming up sentiment talking about 'I don't want to embarrass him but to seek intervention' while at the same time not actually doing any real thing to come to a resolution except posting on a thread.

Car TalkRe: My Terrible Experience With Luvinhubby by Inception(m):
foolbuster:
I just asked because Luvinhubby said no refund unless product is returned. And he made it clear here that he does not refund or replace unless defective product is returned. Or did you not discuss the terms of another replacement when you both agreed product will be replaced?

I had expected that when your kazeem installed the defective gear box and it didn't work the next logical step would have been to take it out especially after you and luvinhubby agreed the product will be replaced. And also according to you the vehicle wasn't driveable. I know its labour intensive taking it out again but whats the point of the gear being there if it doesn't work.

I'm also curious as to how the car ended up in your garage since work on it is still on hold pending the arrival of the correct gearbox, or is it that it was worked on in your garage? Or did you just feel like spending towing money? Or perhaps you just gave up on the car.

Don't get me wrong Its obvious luvinhubby is at fault here and was just after your money. But unless you have decided to forego your money, just find a way to send back the defective product to him especially now he claimed he is back from wherever it is he said he went and is now communicating again. Thats exactly what i'll do since the gear is useless to me.

And to luvinhubby just an advice ooo, just save yourself further embarassment and find a way to take back the gear and return his money (or send the correct product if he still agrees)
Excellent.

To the OP, i understand that you are mechanically inclined from your post (or at least well versed in mechanic stuff). When did you notice that the gearbox was not as per specification to your vehicle? Was it before or after installation? And usually, prior to installation of the new auto-box, the defective one should have been removed and compared side by side with the replacement.

I had a similar issue with Rowland when i bought an EOD gearbox from him in 2014. Immediately the gear was installed and engine started, i noticed a whining noise. when the car was dropped, gear did not engage in reverse. I called him immediately and told him the situation. And he told me to send the gear back to him for a replacement. Yes it cost me additional labour, Transport, expensive DW1 fluid etc, but still, i was buying a used (delicate and complicated) part, so had to give. Gear was replaced all was well afterwards.

Yes, he messed up by sending you a wrong part, but i think you should not have gone ahead to install, since you noticed the discrepancies. That would have saved you quite a bit, and maybe communicated a sense of urgency to him.

Next time, before any parts seller sends you a part, have an idea of what your own looks like, even up to the codes/numbers written on the gear. Tell him( or anybody you intend to use as your part supplier) to take photos and send to you (and send yours to him too) to assure compatibility prior to him sending it down. Heck , some of them even have the VIN number of the vehicle they were removed from still riveted to them. You can use that to run a quick VIN check to be sure to compatibility with your vehicle. This is the beauty and relevance of Tech.

And as per sensors breaking and what not during transmission removal, you need to change your mechanic. Any mechanic with experience in engine/ transmission replacement need not damage things/ parts because of a replacement.

Really sorry for the inconvenience. Sh.it happens, but we just have to keep moving forward. Now that communication lines have been restored( at least on this forum) i would suggest that you bite the bullet , return the transmission back to him and get your money( or another replacement) back ASAP.

very true. When my bmw arrived, it was low on power steering fluid. I asked around for the type of fluid to use. Everyone said dexron. However, car manual warned never to use dexron. But recommended a particular type of fluid. Bmw users also told me to get ready for power steering rack issues. I went to ladipo and insisted for the recommended fluid. Lo and behold, it was available. Dexron was 2500. Recommended was 5500. This is more than 1yr after topping off. No issues. No leakage. Maintenance with right part is key.

HeavenlyBang:
Engineer here, I disagree.

If it works, it works. Of course, that only counts if functionality isn't abruptly disrupted by catastrophic failure. In the case of Adanny and his paper solution, I think it was an excellent choice. The fact that it's lasted two years supports that opinion. At this point, he's gotten full utility from what was supposed to be a temporary fix. Even if he throws a rod now, I like to think he won't be too pissed.

Again, if it works, it works. There are always multiple solutions. Always.
Inception:
A ladder frame is basically the structural part of the engine block ( usually bolted on) that serves 2 purposes: housing the main crank journals /bearings and providing extra rigidity to the block itself. You can google that for more knowledge on the matter.

Saying I am defeated by my knowledge is quite unfortunate in this discourse. At no point did i say using your band aid fix was not possible, nor practical. I am only explaining here that for best results and peace of mind, work with factory specifications, particularly for the OP's engine. Working with your analogy could easily justify some of these practices our kazeems do ( e.g removal of thermostat and connecting the fans direct , a digression if you don't mind). we know that the car will still work, but not as intended from design. So in a nutshell it is what it is, a band aid fix , which must come with a caveat.

If you ask the owner , i bet he would ask for a solution that would give him peace of mind at the right cost, not one that his heart would be in his mouth throughout the period he owns the vehicle.
Infact the only time he would love to cut corners is if he wants to sell the car asap and needs the car in ' run and drive ' condition grin. So if it is adding paper packing to the conrod bearing that gives him peace of mind, who am i to question him grin

As for kazeems, ask yours if he would attempt to rebuild this particular engine and hear his response grin

Please how does this affect people that transfer from one dorm account to another within the same bank?
BusinessCBN Bans Customer-to-customer Forex Transfer by Inception(op): 12:01pm On Sep 25, 2020
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has banned transfer of foreign exchange (forex) from one customer to another.

According to the apex bank, forex cash lodgements into domiciliary accounts can only be done by the account owners henceforth.

An internal memo available in the media space explains that the new guidelines are necessary to review the utilisation of inflows into customers domiciliary accounts.

The circular states: “Forex inflows cannot be credited to customers until the legitimacy of funds is established.

“They can have unfettered access by telegraphic transfers up to a limit of $40,000 monthly for payment of medical bills, school fees, subscription to professional bodies subject to existing CBN guidelines.

“Transfers from one customer to another is prohibited. Transfer within related companies is allowed subject to a limit of $50,000 per month.”

It recommended that proceeds from non-oil exports should be sold to banks, used for repayment of dollar term loans, and self-utilisation for trade transactions for LC, bills and Form A. Also oil export proceeds from E&P companies are to be used to pay contractors and service providers employed by the oil companies in addition to the recommended uses for non-oil FX proceeds.

Offshore forex inflows from other Nigerian banks and internal account to forex transfers sourced from offshore inflows are to be used for trade transactions subject to eligibility for E-Form M.

“Upon confirmation of the legitimacy of the inflows, customers can have unfettered access, subject to a maximum of $50,000,” the document read.

“Utilisation for trade transactions subject to processing of eligible trade transactions using E-Form M. Payment for services must be backed with demand note from offshore beneficiary and other regulatory documents. “Related party transfers are allowed to the maximum of the inflow received. The transfer request should be backed by a signed instruction from the account holder.” Payment of government fees and levies are also allowed to the maritime, oil and gas, aviation. government parastatals and export processing zones.

Ok. I will gladly enlighten you since you are new. Getting cars from Europe is quite expensive and has now even been more expensive for a number of reasons especially since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Weak naira, high shipping costs, higher clearing costs. Also note an important rule: The new the model the more expensive it is. The older the model the cheaper it is. It is for this reason I buy older cars. Newer models are strictly on order fully or partly paid for and non-refundable.
Also in Europe, most of their vehicles are manual though automatic are also available. Also, most vehicles are diesel than petrol.
In a bid to phase out fossil fuel cars for electric vehicles there are many cars that are being thrown away which are still in good state and can be used again.
Thanks.

So how much will it cost me to land the car?

Please kindly respond as per what best price can land this.
