I thought i was the only one who questioned those presenters and the way they speak, its almost like everyone on radio wants to sound like Dan Foster these days.
Family / Re: Would You Prefer Your Wife To Be A House Wife Or A Working Class Lady? by indie22(f): 10:08am On Jul 01, 2011
Ndipe:

Being a fulltime housewife is itself work, because you are taking care of the kids, cooking and taking care other domestic duties in the household. It's ignorance to assume that fulltime housewives have it good. No, they dont, and dont even tell me that it's a waste of education for a woman to be a fulltime housewife after finishing college. The fact that she is educated and literate is positive proof that her education is not in vain. Personally, if I am very rich, I would want my wife to be a stay at home mom and take care of the kids in their infancy before transitioning to the corporate world. It's not easy. Give women a break, give housewives a break. Or if your daughter were to tell you that eventually, she would be a housewife after her education, you will choose not to educate her beyond elementary school? My parents are dead, and my senior brother and I took care of the responsibilities of educating our sisters. The youngest, after completing her bachelors decided to do business instead of working 9-5 and I supported her decision and told her that I am ok with it as long as she can live comfortably from it. Or should I have just said, "What a waste of resources after spending 4, 5, 6 years in college?" No!

Well said, at the end of the day its up to the couple to decide on whats better for them and their kids, I have a colleague who is married with a baby boy, she is out of the house at 6am and back home at 8pm weekdays, due to traffic, some weekends she has to go for work training, she complains bitterly all the time, she's at the point of looking for a job with lesser hours and even less pay as well (since her hubby is able to support them)so she can spend time bonding with her son before the boy begins to think of the house girl as his mummy(lol). It's all about the individual and whatever works for them.

As iice said, 'to each his own'.

Although my bf and i live in thesame town, we both have very demanding jobs and always feel like we do not get to spend quality time together because of the nature of our jobs, he keeps telling me and i totally agree with him, 'when we get married, and start to have kids, something has to give and we will have to do something about it'.

I totally agree with him and would gladly get a less paying and less demanding job or even try my sharpen my enterpreneural skills, just to be able to have enough time for my family, its really about what you want and what works for you.

Romance / Re: Why Are Some Ladies In The Habit Of Droping Their Stuff In A Guy's House by indie22(f): 3:28pm On Jun 23, 2011
desthan:

Please enlighten me. Is it just forgetfulness or part of some Machiavellian scheme ?

Ms Chima, what could be your own reason for this behavior? Did you ever act this way?

Yes, you could honestly forget stuff behind, but thats not to say some girls dont do it on purpose, it also depends on what you have going with the guy, if its a casual thing, why leave stuff behind when you dont even know if he'll be seeing you again?

But if its someone you've been seeing for a while and you know you'll be back there, whats the point dragging your stuff back and forth, in any case if he really wants your stuff there, he wont mind.

Romance / Re: Why Are Some Ladies In The Habit Of Droping Their Stuff In A Guy's House by indie22(f): 3:00pm On Jun 23, 2011
Na wa for NLers, must there always be a motive?

Some people actually forget stuff behind you know, but er not like damp gstring in the bathroom or shower cap, those ones are too obvious, wink
Romance / Re: Is It A Bad Thing To Date A Muslim by indie22(f): 11:29am On Jun 23, 2011
Im actually going through thesame thing as well, im dating this really great guy who is a muslim. He's totally gets and completes me in every way, we have our ish like any other couple but we somehow have been able to stay happy together.

Problem is , he is muslim and i am a christian, i am from anambra and he is idoma, honestly my folks dont have a problem with us and although they would prefer me in a christian home, they are happy to give their blessings, his family on the other hand is the problem. they dont want to hear it, they have no intention of attending a church wedding, he has made it clear he will never follow me to church and if and when we get married our kids will be muslims, see wahala!!

But i love him and i know he loves me too, so im thinking, can this ish work
Education / Re: If U Had A Chance, To Punish Ur Past Sec School Teacher? Who And Why? by indie22(f): 12:44pm On Jun 22, 2011
I had a one-eyed yoruba teacher in school, disgusting woman, she was always pregnant (every year) always carrying belle, always spitting all over the place, ive never seen a more wicked and angry individual in my entire life. She would always swear at us in yoruba for no reason at all, you cant have a yoruba lesson without her calling someone "emere" (mammy water) or yelling "ah!! o mo iwe sugbon o mo okunrin" (ure dull when it comes to reading but not when it comes to boys), just because an ibo girl had difficulty reading "bashorun gaa" properly.

And this woman could flog!!! kai!! she would cane you so hard and after that make you kneel down in the sun, a

kai!! i must still hate that woman coz typing this sef is making me angry at her all over again
Romance / Re: Diz Abuja Girls Sef by indie22(f): 10:13am On Jun 22, 2011
Not everyone girl in abuja is like that, haba some people have well paying jobs and dont have to go to krystal lounge or aqua to scout for customers.

Quit generalizing!!
Family / Re: Annoying Spousal Habits by indie22(f): 2:18pm On Jun 17, 2011
Funny thread, i'm almost falling off my chair.

My bf is very forgetfull and loses a lot of his stuff, if he searches for something and cant find it he'll start to accuse you of taking it or throwing it away, he'll start saying things like, (i know you never liked that shirt), when this dude eventually finds the shirt, he goes and leaves it in a very obvious place, he knows surely your eyes will go there, he then starts to act all surprised and make like it was you who left it there, in my mind i'll just be saying to myself (see this mumu).

Another thing is he likes to hoard stuff, like omg!! he never throws anything away, old clothes, old magazines, old appliances, even bits and scraps of paper, dude keeps everything!! our garage is so full of all kinds of junk!! Each time i beg him to throw away stuff he goes like "No im not throwing this away, ive had it for blah blah years and might need it for bla bla reason', so i wait till the garage and spare rooms are full, then i start to empty them bit by bit so that he wouldnt notice, na lie o!! he will still come and ask me for one bit of paper that he wrote someone's telephone number on and i'll just shrug and go like "yeah i did a bit of cleaning, so i must have thrown it away", he gets real mad and doesnt talk to me for a while, but i no send o, i will keep throwing away all his junk, abi when person no be mad man whats with all the panti in the house!!

Romance / Re: He Wants To Ditch Her After 7 Years by indie22(f): 7:35pm On Jun 11, 2011
wow!

Yours is a tough one, but here goes,

If you dont love your girlfriend of 7 years anymore, (let her go), but be ready for the worst of scenarios, because you will be taking from her the past 7 years of her life. You've spent 7 years together, 7 years of sacrifices, it would have been better if you had left her back then when she cheated on you, for you to now wait all this while and in the process (you've met someone new) it'll make it seem as if you waited all this while to get back your own pound of flesh.

But at the end of the day, its up to you, its your life, your future, your home, you alone know who and what can make you happy.

Goodluck

No way you can love someone you've never seen or been with, you'll prolly just be in love with the 'idea of him/her" till you guys finally meet each other, then its make or break time.
Romance / Re: How Do I Tell Her Off? by indie22(f): 5:16pm On Jun 09, 2011
Exactly Seun, she has a boyfriend and they are not married, if she loves you as much and you want her as well, tell her to leave her boyfie and come roll with you.

But er, be careful, there's no saying she wont do thesame to you, if she meets someone else and 'falls in love'  again.

Travel / Re: Your Worst Flying Experience! by indie22(f): 11:25am On Jun 03, 2011
I once took a flight on afriqair from lagos to london gatwick via tripoli, i must say that was the worst flight of my life. We boarded what looked to me like a plane from outside and a molue inside to Tripoli, the plane was shaking all through the flight, i wasnt sure if it was turbulence or nuts and bolts in the plane coming undone, it was dead cold in the aircraft and we had no blankets, no food, no inflight entertainement, i had to ask one of the cabin crew if i could borrow his jacket when blankets were not available as it was kind of chilly, and guess what? One of the cabin crew was smoking on board the aircraft, in the toilet and no one paid him any attention.

We got to tripoli and i felt like i was in a war zone, people carrying guns freely, immigration officers yelling at people, gadafi's huge potraits all over the place, we were there for over 3 hours, in my mind i cursed the travel agent who booked me on the flight (not like i blamed her anyway as i was being an 'ijebu' and was looking for the cheapest flight possible.

People were being harrassed unecessary, it was just hellish. When we eventually got on a flight to london, we were finally fed some weird looking food that looked like fried eggs and dried bread, and we had coke poured into cups to drink (3 people per bottle).

They'll definitely get my award for the crappiest airline ever!

Car Talk / Re: How Kia Motors Endangers Lives In Nigeria. by indie22(f): 11:33am On Mar 17, 2011
The Kia Rio is still the highest selling model in the kia range (airbags or not), the Rios were ordered that way for only one reason, to keep prices reasonable and less expensive. Most people buy kias because of their prices, ive said this over and over again on this forum, MOST PEOPLE WON'T BUY KIAS IF THEY ARE SEEN AS TOO EXPENSIVE !!

You can go ahead and call the kia range all kinds of names but the truth is, kia is not the only brand who orders basic models without airbags, I've actually seen a manual yaris without airbags,

Kia motors designs and makes cars that people can afford, prices need to stay low, so new car buyers or buyers on a budget would at least have chances to own brand new cars, without worrying about visits to vehicle technicians or roadside mechanics for at least 3 years.

Now the 2011 Rios are fitted with airbags, as opposed to the older models that had seat belts with pretensioners that lock you back in the seat in the event of a collision.

Romance / Re: Limits And Relationships by indie22(f): 8:35pm On Dec 07, 2010
Socials will def need to have limits as well as family interference, its our marriage and we'll only involve a third party in whatever problems we might have if we absolutely cannot work things out on our own.

Going out, partying, clubbing and all is fine (with limits) as long as we both understand the boundaries and don't over do things.

Attention is good, as long as its a good time,

Everything else, SEX, MONEY, AFFECTION, KIDS, NO LIMITS!!!!
