Religion / Re: Is Speaking In Tongues A Requirement For A Christian by indie22(f): 11:37am On Jun 12, 2010
Speaking in tongues is not a necessity for a christian, its a gift of the holy spirit, if you have the gift then by all means use it, A lot of people dont have the gift but just dont want to feel left out thats why you see them jumping up and down in the church, kabasshing all over the place.
Religion / Re: Andy Uba In Adultery Mess As Pastor Mistress Delivers by indie22(f): 11:28am On Jun 12, 2010
SMH

This is just shameful, for a pastor of a church to go as far as getting pregnant for a married man, how does she stand on the pulpit and preach against fornication and pre marital sex, how does she even sleep at night. A whole pastor?
Romance / Re: Share Love Quotes. by indie22(f): 10:05pm On Jun 10, 2010
An ex once sent me this poem, don't know where he got it from.

In the jungle the lion is king

In the sea, the blue whale

In the sky, the eagle

In my life, you wear the crown.
TV/Movies / Re: New Film On Fela: Ejiofor Takes Lead Role, As D’banj Fails by indie22(f): 8:45pm On Jun 10, 2010
Lmao!!

That was a cool video tho, but that scene was very funny coz he looked really stupid playing the action hero and I wonder why his mouth always hangs open?
Religion / Re: Celestial Church of Christ: Your Experience And Opinion by indie22(f): 8:06pm On Jun 10, 2010
I have an aunt that is a huge cele follower, she doesn't take a decision in her life however small without consulting one alagba woli or the other. I've had two experiences with them and it wasn't so nice.

First one was when I was about 12 yrs old and took my dad's shaving stick and shaved off some hair on the back of my head (I was only a child and I was curious to see what would happen, as I used to watch my dad shave every morning), only for my mum to take me to my aunts church the next day to see one alagba shepherd who claimed he saw a vision where my step mum snuck into my room in the middle of the night and shaved off my hair for some stupid reson he mentioned. I still laugh about it coz I didn't own up to my mum that I actually did the evil deed. You should have seen the huge bill they gave her.

Second was when my aunt invited me to her church and some elder walked up to me and told my aunt and I that I had a spiritual husband that was disturbing me, they later invited me for special prayers where they beat me blue black with fresh brooms and palm fronds, I was like wtf? But managed to survive through the ordeal, I left my aunt and her prayer warriors thanking them for the prayers whilst inwardly cursing them for the punishment I receieved. I got home and told my mum that, I hope her sister is happy now coz that's the last time she'll be smelling me anywhere near her church or her church members. My mum couldn't stop laughing at me.

Btw Ejiofor was born in Forest Gate, East London to Nigeria parents, i'm pretty sure he knows about Fela, in any case if he doesnt, im sure all he'll need to do is to spend a couple of weeks in The new shrine, spend sometime with those that knew and lived wiv Fela, or study some literature, watch some videos, basically get farmiliar wiv anything that has to do with fela and his lifestyle,
TV/Movies / Re: New Film On Fela: Ejiofor Takes Lead Role, As D’banj Fails by indie22(f): 6:09pm On Jun 10, 2010
dayokanu:

Did Chinwetel even know about Fela before the auditioning?

The question is not who knew more about Fela or who can gyrate better to afro beat music, its about who is a better actor. If you've seen the videos of suddenly and fall in love, you'll know dbanj cant act squat.

If they were looking for a performer to fit the role, i would have gone with dbanj all the way, but the role demands a good and talented actor, and Ejiofor fits the role.

beeman80:

Its so obvious that the foreign producers do not have an idea of who is needed to take up such enigmatic role.Consequently they have chosen the wrong interpreter of Fela's life and times.I am so sure there is someone out there who can take up this.Focus should not be on internationally acceptable individual but on originality. The have missed it.

I actually think Ejiofor is perfect for the role, he's good looking in a way that's not so obvious, and im pretty sure he can carry off the whole enigmatic and larger than life image of the great 'BABA 70". I dont in anyway think he's wrong and im looking forward to when the movie comes out.

Personally i'll be looking out for who'll be playing the "kalakuta girls"
TV/Movies / Re: New Film On Fela: Ejiofor Takes Lead Role, As D’banj Fails by indie22(f): 4:14pm On Jun 10, 2010
Ejiofor is a good actor, ive seen a couple of movies he starred in and i think he did a good job, Dbanj and dede on the other hand are musicians and performers, it'll take more than singing, sounding or even looking a bit like like fela to carry off the role.

I dont really like dbanj or dede anyway,
Religion / Re: New Rccg's Tithe Collection Format by indie22(f): 1:05pm On Jun 10, 2010
I dont have any problem with people paying tithes to churches, its really about what you believe in,  personally I dont believe in paying tithes to churches (since they are already running a successful business) i rather give my tithe to orphanages or the less priviledged.

Or better still spend it on whatever my heart desires and dance and sing praises to God whilst, as it says in Deutoronomy  chapter 14: verse 22-26.
Romance / Re: I Feel So Lonely & Downcasted by indie22(f): 9:31pm On Jun 09, 2010
Heartbreaks really suck! Give it some time, it'll all pass, try doing things to take your mind off him, hang out with friends, throw yourself into work, studies or maybe a new project and hopefully in a couple of months you'll look back and wonder what you ever saw in him.

Onchedu:

Would U have preferred if I had used Fornicators and Adulterers in the place of Non-virgin? Have I called any names and said U are a sinner. Have I even read thru the post besides the topic? Has the topic been closed? If it hasnt been then wait for it to close before U point out that there was no where in it where anyone encouraged sexual immorality.

I know holy pass but then this is a medium I can use to help someone stay on the right path and I will make the most of it regardless of what anyone thinks of me.

I havent broken NL rules have I?

Whatever you say mate!

I just dont get people's fascination with this virgin or non virgin business. It's become very boring,

Onchedu:

By their fruits u shall know them.

On such threads the virgins usually keep quiet (sadly)

The non-virgin girls make lots of noise trying to draw solidarity to themselves

the boys who know better keep the non-virgin girls engaged in arguments that will never end

The boys who like easy sex keep encouraging the non virgin girls and throwing support behind them.

I havent read thru this thread and I don't intend to cos it's just talk that wont change a thing.

Dont take this the wrong way but you sound like a bit of a "know it all", plus i havent seen any where on this thread where anyone is encouraging easy sex, you can be judgemental and claim to give advise all you want but people will always live their lives however it pleases them.

Whe you use the word "non virgin" you make it seem like its a mortal sin, does the bible not say "judge not, so that ye may not be judged"?

All i can say is for her to live with his parents means she has been accepted into his family as well, (coz the parents could have easily accepted the child without the mother, but they agreed to have the other woman come stay with them), , u need to wake up to that reality.

That said, It could have honestly been a mistake on your hubby's part or it might have been intentional (after all we hear stories of women that get pregnant on purpose for any man that comes from 'away').

But i'm curious tho poster, how did you find out about the other woman?

Some men are just full of it! You play hard to get, they say you need to get over youself. You give it up easily, they call you a slut.

Makes you just wonder, what men really want,
Romance / Re: Why do women fall so cheap by sleeping with their boyfriend before Marriage? by indie22(f): 8:40pm On Jun 05, 2010
Stating what obvious?

That a woman is cheap if she has sex before marriage?

My dear, grow with the times, you can hog your virginty for as long as you like, it concerns no one, same as how other people want to do their own thing shouldn't be your concern. Stop being so judgemental abeg!
Romance / Re: Why do women fall so cheap by sleeping with their boyfriend before Marriage? by indie22(f): 7:40pm On Jun 05, 2010
There is no week I log on to nairaland that I don't see a thread about virgins, disvirgining, virginity, bla bla bla. I honestly don't get some people's fascination with it.

Saving your virginity or choosing to explore before settling down surely concerns no one else but yourself, you find some women who stay virgins till marriage eventually get popped and become nymphos that even their husbands can't match their sexual appetite. What should matter to a man should be if the woman would make a good wife, a good mother and home maker, and if he sees her as the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with not him worrying about whether he'll find himself a virgin wife or not.

Or just maybe he feels guilty about breaking up with you and feels the need to always explain such situations.

And he could still even care about you, who knows?
Nairaland / General / Re: Nairaland Is So Depressing by indie22(f): 3:33pm On Jun 04, 2010
I like nairaland, its fun to read people's posts and once in a while chip in something, but i noticed that pple are quick to call each other names and be unecessarily aggressive and abusive and i just dnt get why,

oh well,
Nairaland / General / Re: WHAT DO YOU LIKE AND DISLIKE ABOUT NAIRALAND by indie22(f): 3:27pm On Jun 04, 2010
I dislike that people tend to be unecessarily abusive, over little things, its almost like its a competition.

What's the point when the one you think you love cant love you the way you deserve, life's too short abeg!
