benebaby77: I used Oyo and Osun because they are closer to Ilorin(Kwara), and I know some people there who often come here(Ilorin) to source for dollar when they want to travel..
For those that domicile in Ilorin and in need of dollar. You can go 'Oja Oba' infront of Emir Palace/Centra Mosque in Ilorin to sourch for it... Any bike man in Ilorin knows the place...
Sir, I'm in not Ilorin now... You can ask the person whom you know to go there tomorrow or next week to confirm their buying rate and selling rate...
Sorry sister, I dont know about Ibadan... But I had once met one Abok1 October last year in Kwara hotel who transfered into dollar account and I paid him cash.... Ok boss. Will visit the emir palace then |

CBN is different from commercial banks rate. As at the time commercial was #285 during Xmas period CBN was still operating below #200 which has been their rate for more than eight months ago |

LivingDiamond: After careful reading of the op's points, i can say dats a very good write up..But i think what we are facing now is just the results of profligacy and lack of vision of our past and ever present leaders...Think of billions in cash dats been transported abroad frm our economy, it sickens me weneva i hear of our leaders spending in dollars in our country.. No 1 cares abt our Naira again, all dey flaunt abt is d num of dollars u have @ hand...Hopefully, wth more policies coming on from ds administration, tins will get better because d system has been deeply rotten to be healed overnight. Lets hope for d best to come... God bless Nairaland God bless Nigeria @ large.. #Selah
Modified: The poster above me is just ranting and not passing a single message...An example of niggas who flaunts degrees and downpour all what they read in school wth no sense of communication...Tell us why d policy is faulty and give us an alternative way out, but no, he's shouting abt one degree in marketing..Bullshit! His reference one and two are not related so the whole analysis is in shambles cox comparing deposit bank rate to CBN rate is outta point. |

I don't really see any new thing about this Nigerian mentality of hoarding information. The money we spend on transaction is different, its not like we are competing for same customers but you hoard info claiming banks get time for less than 100k USD transaction combined here per week just to affect bigger customers SMH for you. MrHyde: Why are Nigerian youths so sentimental? Price of fuel was reduced from 97naira to 87 naira with billions in subsidy and u compare that to reduction from 87 naira to 86/85naira without subsidy. If the so called leaders of tomorrow r on nairaland then the future is far from bright. Why not wait till subsidy is removed or you didn't read amount budgeted for the same subsidy in 2016 budget? |

dolphinheart: Have we considered the exchange rate in all these wahala? Using an example, If petrol was sold to me at 100 dollars when a barrel was 50 dollars at an exchange rate of 1 dollar to 100 naira. What will happen to the price I sell the petrol to You if the exchange rate goes up and the amount I buy the petrol comes down. ?
Note: I'm a layman when it comes to all these calculations . D fx rate is the same sire which is why an average Nigerian can't believe the wide gap between CBN rate and deposit bank rates |
