twinskenny: consistency is always the key of any shipping company, and also truthful communication usually go along way... shippyme might have the best web page around but trust me there service is abysmal.... am shipping with shoptomydoor for the first time, but so far there response time has been excellent.. i am going to do a review on them soon.

through out friday, i called shippyme office through out on friday they wont pick my calls.. imagine is that how to treat customer? tommorow they will come here and start defending themselve. if by thursday this week i dont get my item, i am ready to involve authority to get either my item or my money from them.. i have informed my lawyer friend about this...

I am not usually happy when I read things about a company that
has so much potential but have failed to live up to expectation.

I received a call from them after I posted my ordeal with them
on N/Land (even though the thread has gone with the tsunami)
and I told them I may never use their service again.
In fact when I think of using them again, I feel a shrill going through
my body.

Honestly, I will not even think of using their service again, the pains people go
through using their service is just too Much.

I've ran a background check on your posts, they are informative and constructive.

The only challenge in your post is the inaccessibility of ShopAmerica's website (as well as physical office in a place like Lagos - for clearing purpose) which sends a negative signal about the shipping company. This is unlike Shippyme with interactive website and two physical offices in Lagos (which literally make it one of the best in Nigeria).

Not having a website does not mean they are not credible,at least shippyme with their website
have done more harm than good to businesses of many Nigerians especially with the misinformation
they provide.

You have given them one of the best in Nigeria, I am sorry I share a very different opinion to yours

I am a researcher and buys hundreds of books from the USA every year. I have shipped directly from different companies since 2004. So, Shippyme is not my first mode of shipment. The company has nothing to offer me to write reviews as i pay them to ship my goods. In other words, my review was purely personal and not connected to the survival of the company in question.

I have read a lot of negative reviews of Shippyme on Nairaland and Facebook before giving it a try. Throughout these reviews, people claim they have used better companies. Some mentioned the names of these companies (often own by them) and others kept mute. In your own review too, you did not mention the good ones available. You only praised the company you used. Here are what you can do to improve the industry:

1. Identify and publish the names of good (shipping) companies you used in the last few months
2. Compare their shipping cost, delivery period and package handling
3. Based on your personal experience, describe their customer relations

When you do this, it will send a serous warning to Shippyme of increasing competition in the industry. It will also better our shipping experience in Nigeria.

In the final analysis, i do not write for Shippyme but myself. I have used their service and consider it OK (65%) in a turbulent business environment such as Nigeria. For customers who have had bitter experience, i strongly emphatise with you. The solution to shipping crisis is to expand the competition. it begins with objective review of all shipping companies that have heavy presence online.

Presently I use Shop America, they have their office in Kaduna.

Cost= $10/ib which is fair,
Delivery = 4 wks (from date of purchase) can come earlier but not later.
Package Handling = Never had an issue with that

3.

Based on your personal experience, describe their customer relations

Customer experience is 100% for me.Because once I place my orders using their
address,I am off only to receive a call that my items are ready for pickup. I have never made
a call to them concerning my shipment when in transit.This makes me sleep easy.It is as good as that.

I've gone ahead to recommend them to so many of my customers and honestly they have never been
disappointed.
I will check for their web address.
Honestly, I am enjoying their services.
Please note I am never affiliated with them, I only use & enjoy their services.

Shippyme is not that bad as portrayed by many users. Although, they might experience some issues which is common to the shipping industry.

Here is my experience.

I ordered for 50 books from CreateSpace (S1403188006) and shipped it through Shippyme in first week of April , 2014. Probably due to the sea freight package i chose, the books got to me at the end of June, 2014. I was not happy at first and complained about the delay to the USA office who told me that the goods arrived in Nigeria in the second week of June. I contacted the Nigeria office and was told that the goods are being cleared. This took about two weeks. The customer care actually apologized for this.

This is their norm.

omoteretop: In anger, i sought for other shipping companies in Nigeria and to my amazement, none provided comprehensive information on how to ship goods from the USA. So, i turned back to Shippyme.

This not true,maybe u used another bad shipper b'cos of ur anger.I have been shipping with another shipping company even b4 I stopped using shippyme and I have not had any cause to regret using them and I am still using them as I write this.U only need to be better informed.

omoteretop: I ordered for an inverter (S1405247844 ) and shipped it through Shippyme. I used the sea freight and got the package within 30 days. I was surprised because the estimated delivery period should be 10 weeks. This was done in four weeks.

omoteretop: I discovered that once you order for a good, quickly make a new booking of that particular order in your Shippyme account. Monitor it yourself on your Shippyme portal and constantly send a message to be updated. This was what i did for the second good i ordered.

My packages were delivered and never missing.

This is not really true.Not all Nigerians that ship through shippyme are dumb.
I did the above (as I ordered I updated on the portal) when I ordered through shippyme
and it still ended in the same sad tale.
I believe u and other shippers should continue to enjoy this unconditional favor from shippyme and give us good
testimonies so that the complaints will reduce.

Catlanta: I understand your frustration and truly I apologize if you have had some bad experiences this time around using Shippyme. This still does not invalidate the fact that Shippyme provides wonderful service and has a ton of satisfied customers. Even within this thread, you can find different customers coming forward to stand for us. Unless we opened all these accounts (some from 2011) I don't see how they are "fake" or "employees". In this age any company engaging in such would instantly be found out. Shippyme has never had the need to do so, not in our early days and certainly not now Sir.

Eh, I am neither expressing frustration nor bothered by the testimonials of others, I'm only pissed off that shippyme has not really improved from where i left them,
the same song of woes of same bad service which includes delays and poor customer support is still part of shippyme.

The constant thing in life is change,the earlier shippyme actually embraces this change the better for them and their customers.

i made a mistake using there service all over again... i was convinced by the usa team,

imagine a samsung galaxy tab was ship to there office and for more than 6month they cant find it.. thank God for tracking system which show the item was delivered to them.. one of thr US staff took it upon himself to purchase another one for me, and same guy convinced me that things has changed... alas we are back to square one.. now is over 3days i sent them an email asking the whereabout of my item.. no one has replied me.d

dsunmade: The truth is that every shipping company has issues including delays and lost packages. Even global shipping companies like DHL, UPS and Fedex experience these issues. I have had several items with the USPS go missing despite having tracking numbers.
People who have positive experiences are much less likely to drop reviews than those who have negative experiences. If some people are having negative experiences, then it means that there are areas that can be improved upon especially the customer relations and interdepartmental communications.
To the best of my knowledge, Shippyme is still the number 1 shipping company in Nigeria.

Sorry to write this. But to the above post I'm not convinced that you both are telling the truth

I am surprised that a thread like this will still be coming up concerning this company.I started a thread on my
bitter experience with them earlier this year.So many apologies after the ordeal.But same issues still comes up.

This is my observation.
- If you are a patient person and not in business do business with shippyme.

- If u're a business person or you want to ship items for your business or clients THEN DO NOT FALL
FOR THE 7 -12 DAYS CLAIM on their site. This is NEVER feasible.Use another shipper
if you want ur items with 2 weeks.

- Expect items from ONE month after booking.That is the honest truth.

- Do not call their 9ja customer service (pure time wasters) call the u.s team,they may help u better.

Their site records some of this terrible woes, please take them seriously b4 using them, I read them
but just decided to give a try and I hear am.

lipseal: I did meet with inspired today and finally got to see the replacement 03 LE camry he got for me. I find it to be in decent condition so we sealed our deal. While this has not been the preorder experience i imagined, I will implore anybody who decides to ply the 'preorder' route to be careful and never be in a hurry to part with hard earned cash... In all, inspired met up with the given deadline and i got the replacement as agreed.
