A man named Yewunu Tanlaju,(middle) A suspected ritualist,has confessed that he sold the severed parts of a 17 -year-old girl ,Taye Gusinu, to a herbalist for N8, 500.

The 35-year-old suspect allegedly killed the victim last Thursday in Idosemo, Ipokia, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State and then removing seemingly vital body parts.Tanlaju while speaking at the police headquarters,stated the victim was hawking puff-puff, and he lured her into an isolated area and murdered her.

The suspect was paraded with two accomplices, a herbalist, Olusoji Asamo and Joyi Suru.

Explaining how he killed the victim whose decomposing body was also brought to the parade ground, Tanlaju said he seized her from behind, tied her with a rope and slaughtered her.

Tanlaju said Taye was not the first victim he had killed. He said he had earlier killed a 40-year-old woman whose body parts he sold for N10,000.

He said,

“It was this man (Olusoji Asamo) who told me to bring human parts. It was at that time I saw the girl selling puff puff in one school. I called her and bought puff puff from her.
“When she finished selling, she was going, I seized her from behind and tied her down and I slaughtered her myself. She attempted shouting but I blocked her mouth.
“This is the second time I am killing, it was in the same area but I was not caught then, it was the same Olusoji who requested for human parts then, although I didn’t know what he wanted to use them for.
“When I delivered the parts, he gave me N8,500 because we haven’t agreed on any amount but it was N10,000 he gave me when I delivered the first parts.”

Asamo confessed that though the body parts were brought to him immediately the crime was committed, however, denied giving out the contract.

The State Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, while parading the suspects said they were arrested after a complaint by the father of the victim, Jimoh Gusinu.

He said the arrest was successful with the collaboration of the Ogun State Command of ‘Vigilante Service of Nigeria’.

The father of the deceased, who was visibly angry while speaking with journalists, demanded justice and warned that under no guise must the suspects be freed.

He said, “The government must also kill them, they are from Tube and I am from Ijofin, we ply the same road and I can’t afford to see police releasing them and I set my eyes on them again.
“If I set my eyes on them, I will not be happy and I will attack them with whatever I can get, the full weight of the law must be allowed to take its course.”

The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji, has sued the Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi and 23 other people, over their involvements in the crowning of 21 kings in Ibadan on August 27, 2017

Joined in the suit are the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in the state, the eight high chiefs which were elevated to kings, along with the Baales which were conferred with kingship position.

In the suit with file number I/1077/2017, that was filed at High Court of Justice, Oyo State on September 19, 2017, the Olubadan is claiming that the governor violated the Chiefs Laws CAP 28 of the state, stating that Ajimobi does not have the power and authority to confer anyone the right to wear a beaded crown and coronet,Daily Post reports.

The Olubadan is also claiming that the crowing of the kings is illegal and void since the governor did not consult with the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.

He is seeking an order setting aside the Gazette Numbers 14 and 15 of Volume 42 of August 23 and 24, 2017 made by the governor and which conferred the right to wear crown and coronet on the elevated high chiefs and Baales.

The monarch therefore prays the court to set aside the installation of the new kings.

Yesterday, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmed Makarfi, CON, with other members of the National Caretaker Committee: National Organizing Secretary – Senator Abdul Ningi, National Treasurer/Financial Secretary – Senator Odion Ugbesia, National Legal Adviser – Rt. Hadiza AdadoYusuf; and some other leaders of the PDP visited Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital in the Spirit of the On-going Rebuilding and Reconciliation processes in the Party.

In light of the present economic situation of the country, past Minister of Education, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, on Sunday declared that the demands by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) were unrealistic.

Ezekwesili asserted this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan while reacting to the ongoing strike embarked upon by the union.

“Money is not limitless and yet everyone must acknowledge that investment in education is crucial and it is key.

“There are, however, some fundamental reforms that the sector needs in order to ensure that it is not about the size of the funding but about the productivity of the funding.
“You cannot simply express a desire, it must be founded on reality and that means you must know what can be achieved within a given period,” she said.

“If you remember, the ASUU negotiation started in 2007 when I was the Minister of Education and we constituted a government negotiation team, led by the late Gamaliel Onosode,
“Even though that period was short, one of the major issues for me was for us to make sure that we were being evidenced based in the way we were solving the problem,
“We considered issues like the existing model in countries similar to us in emerging economies,’’ she said.



The former minister said the team also considered what could be done by the public and private sectors about university funding among others.

“Those are the kinds of evidence that we had and on the basis of which we hinged our negotiation at that time,
“It was a very short period and then we had to leave and the next government that took over had to continue.
“I do not know the basis of the final agreement they reached with ASSUU, but if it was not anchored on analytical evidence, I am not surprised that there has been inability to implement it.”

She urged the Federal Government and ASUU to renegotiate on the basis of analysis and evidence to find lasting solution to the dispute.]

The Nigerian Sex Workers Association has asserted the current industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, will lead to an increase in the number of female prostitutes.

This disclosure was made by the national coordinator of the association, Amaka Enemo, on Friday.

The National Coordinator mentioned that even without the strike, many female students had been doing ‘runs’.

Enemo stated if the strike was not called off soon, students would embrace sex work, she notified Punch.

According to Enemo, “Even without the strike, a lot of the students were doing ‘runs’, which is exchanging money for sex. But with the strike, just like a holiday, the rate of sex work will double.

“In this job, strike or holiday period is like a peak period. So, I urge them to stay safe because we cannot kick them off the streets. They should be safe and use condoms.

“The government needs to ensure that the strike is called off because if the students are left idle due to the closure of schools, it means the government is indirectly telling them to go to the streets.”

A six year-old boy from Chibok, in Borno State, who was paralyzed by Boko Haram three years ago, has the chance to be on his feet again.
A charity group based in Abuja, Dickens Sanomi Foundation, has offered to pay the medical bill of the boy, identified as Ali Ahmadu.
Boko Haram militants had run over the boy during an invasion of the town where 275 schoolgirls were kidnapped by the terrorists the same year.

The medical bill for the spinal cord surgery to enable young Ali to walk again, is $48,000 (N14,640,000.00). Surgery will take place at a medical facility in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, according to a statement by the Foundation.

“Ali needs corrective surgery to enable him walk again after he was over ran with a motor cycle in Chibok by Boko Haram members during a night raid,” said Nuhu Kwajafa, the coordinator of Global Initiative For Peace, Love and Care (GIPLC), an NGO spearheading the campaign for the medical aid of the young victim.
Mr. Kwajafa said the total requirement needed for the complete treatment of Ali was put at $60,000.00 (N18,300,00.00), including feeding, accommodation for three months. Mr Kwajafa expressed his thanks and appreciation to the National Assembly and all well meaning Nigerians for their support and contribution, thus far.

Members of the GIPLC were at the Dickens Sanomi Foundation office in Abuja as part of the initiative to ensure that young Ali walks again.
They were received by Chairman of the Foundation Igho Sanomi and Trustee members.
Chairman of the Foundation, Igho Sanomi, who is also the chairman of the energy company Taleveras said, “as a father, it is very touching to see a young boy like this suffer. It is sad what some of our kids have to go through. This is an opportunity for us to show our love to those who need it.”
“Although, education remains the key focus of the Foundation, kids have to be healthy before they can attend school. On behalf of the board of trustees of Dickens Sanomi Foundation, we will take care of Ali, this will include paying the Hospital bill and we will visit him in the Hospital after the surgery.”

A Nigerian National Youth Service Corps member, Silas Igoche Uloko, from Benue State couldn’t cover his joy after surviving a serious road accident while on their way to Edo State on Wednesday, August 16.

His happiness was shared via his brother Abel Uloko, a resident pastor at House on The Rock who composed on Facebook and declared:

“GOD IS FAITHFUL. This is Silas Igoche Uloko my Mothers last child. Having Successfully Completed his program @ the Benue State University, Makurdi, he left my house to Benin for his National Youth Service. He was on his Way to Benin City where he was posted together with Fellow Corps Member when they got involved in a Fatal accident.

Two people died on the spot, others are in very critical conditions in the Hospital BUT for Silas, God Spared him! Not even a scratch on his body. Upon examination in the hospital, he was given a clean bill of health as his internal body is in perfect state. He has since been discharged from the hospital.

At least 12 people including children and women were said to have been burnt to death in a road accident which occurred along Ife/Ibadan expressway, Ile Ife around 12pm on Sunday.
According to an eyewitness, the accident which involved one 18 seater bus and a Diesel laden tanker was said to have occurred when the bus collided with the tanker and the two exploded, leaving passengers trapped within and burnt beyond recognition.The eyewitness stressed that the sad incident could have been averted if not for the impatience of the Ondo/Ore commercial bus driver with Registration Number; MUS 702 XH who was said to be driving towards Ibadan on a very high speed.
Report has it that the late response of the fire fighters and other rescue officials made the casualties that much as most of the deceased were chocked to death by the flame and smoke which erupted from the fire.
However, three survivors were said to have been rescued by sympathizers who squeezed them out by tearing the vehicle with axes and other tools. They were said to have been rushed to a private facility in Ile Ife, though one of the victims was reported to have died on arrival.
Usman Drisu, FRSC Sector Head of Operations, Ile Ife who visited the scene confirmed the incident while he sympathized with the families of the victims.
Usman however urged drivers and other road users be patience and careful especially on the highways.

The Federal Operations Unit (FOU) in Zone C of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) yesterday declared it documented seizures with Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N373,233,523 in June.

The Controller in charge of the zone, Comptroller Amajam Bukar, spoke during the monthly briefing at the zonal head office in Owerri, Imo State capital.

The NCS chief said underpayments of N12,040,949 was recorded within the time under review.He stated: “The figure showed a remarkable increase over what we generated in May, which is N91,868,700 for seizures and N10,646,477 for underpayments.”

Bukar said the suspects arrested in connection with the seizures had been granted bail after meeting the bail conditions, in line with the provisions of the Constitution.

The controller said investigations and prosecutions had begun into some cases.

He said: “Though smugglers keep finding new ways of evading detection, the NCS will keep coming up with ingenious and even better ways of nipping their activities in the bud.

“The evidence of our commitment can be seen in the quality of seizures and high DPV accruable to the Federal Government. Our work here in the zone will continue to yield great benefits and results to the nation as we improve on our operations to increase revenue generation, security of life and property and trade facilitation.”

Giving a breakdown of the seizures, the NCS chief said the unit seized 2,993 bags of rice with DPV of N84,198,400,380; cartons of soap with DPV of N10,093.005.00; Range Rover Jeep Sport 2017 model with DPV N37,077,820 and 4,118 cartons of frozen poultry with DPV N83,389,500, which was destroyed.

Others include Mercedes Benz G65 (AMG) Jeep with DPV of N37,799,998 and a container conveying 10,000 pieces of children’s bags, 303 pieces of suitcase, 15 television sets, 240 pieces of jewellery with a DPV of N111,572,300, among others.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has ignored Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo”s declaration that ailing recuperating President Muhammadu Buhari is healthy after a visit to the latter in the Uk.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja yesterday, Fayose stated: “I’m not going to prove that (the President is recuperating) to Nigerians. It is him (Osinbajo) who said he saw the President that needs to prove to Nigerians. I have made the allegations and I have said it expressly that we are in the age of technology. How do we have an Acting President of a nation that has visited his boss that cannot show evidence of the meeting? The picture they are posting on social media are pictures taken long time. You recall that I said this again at Transcorp Hilton in 2015. We are talking about President of 170million people. The Acting President visiting the President that has left this country for about 60 days or more cannot show evidence of the meeting. It shows the President is in critical condition,” he told journalists.

A 55-year-old South African woman, Mamashi Oageng has lamented over her enlarging big butt.

Speaking to South African’s Daily Sun ,Mamashi cried that she has tried to get help since her buttocks started growing non-stop six years ago but all attempt ended in futility

Mamashi said she has been trapped in her bedroom because she had trouble walking.

The People’s Paper first published her story in 2013 but all she got were marriage proposals from men around the world.
She said,

“I don’t want a poking partner. I need someone to save me from my backside before it’s too late.“Life is not easy and sometimes, I feel like giving up.

Mamashi said she was a beautiful woman with a nice figure six years ago.
