PoliticsRe: PDP Wants Fashola Impeached Over Tolls On Roads by Inik(m): 9:12am On Jun 03, 2013
This reaction is coming too late in the day, they should have said this earlier. The Acn government in Lagos is a government of the elites. Lagosians should just bear the tolling for the two remaining years so that come 2015 they will kick away the Acn taskmasters and elect a people's oriented government. Looking at the situation objectively Fashola should be allowed to complete his tenure at least he has not done badly in the area of infrastructure.

PoliticsRe: Why Anioma State Should Not See The Light Of The Day by Inik(m): 10:59pm On Jun 02, 2013
Let me chip in this, i am not a Deltan however i did my youth service in delta. I don't see the Anioma state movement being realised anytime soon. Delta state's land mass is relatively small, how many local government areas will make up Anioma state? I think the Anioma region shouldn't have been part of delta state. Ibb was in a haste to make his wife's village Asaba the capital of a new state when he created delta state. The capital of Delta state should have been Warri.

RomanceRe: Help! My Girldfriend Has Joined The Illuminati (Fiction) by Inik(op): 10:01pm On Jun 02, 2013
DailyNews: you just said it all bro, you are a good counsellor.

But what the girl in question is facing is now a common issue in our society and its courtesy of: over listening/watching of TV n musical videos of today. Reality TV shows, internet gossips and all these beauty pageant and modelling adverts flying here n there.

Right now, I am facing one. This is a close family friend, from a very well to do family, lives in abj, but this young girl, also 23yrs had been pestering me that she wants me to help her find a modelling agent that would help her become a model, that she is ready to pay any amount they ask for so long as they are going to make her an international model.

I told her to stop wishing to be this n that. But she won't listen, and to worsen the whole issue, her cousin won one of the miss this n that pageant and began to waka from city to city, country to country n later on billboards, this girl can't let me rest.

To the extent she even talked abt fleeing home to come to Lagos to find modelling agents, I have tried all my best to stop her and to encourage her to focus on her studies to no avail.

The latest one now is that she just met the current miss Nigeria, and now she is going for the Miss Unity, have tried talking sense into her brains to no avail. She once said that she is ready to do anything to become a top model aside sleeping around, and I jokingly teased her that what abt joining a cult? She said, no wahala na, that is it not people that are joining illuminatti, that have they died?

Honestly, there is big trouble in Nigeria presently. Media and internet exposure are gradually having negative effect on the mindsets of our youths.

Most youths no longer dream or wish to be professors, doctors, engineers, pastors, etc, all they dream to be now is- musician, model, miss this n that, dancer, dj, music vixen, and all those nonsense careers that destroy ppls modest lifestyle. Sighs.

Pls op, take the advice I quoted.

But pls- Beware of over ambitious girl or lady! She is ready to do anything to achieve her ambition.
Thanks

PoliticsRe: Rivers ACN Calls For The Removal Of Amaechi by Inik(m): 10:57pm On May 31, 2013
We have always known the anti-democratic & arrogant character of Amechi, we know what he is up to. This news report confirms everything. When we see the sudden display of love & affection for Amechi by Acn & Cpc folks here we are amused because they do not know the true character and antics of the man they're fighting for. As usual i expect Lie mohammed to try to put a spin on this tomorrow.
FoodRe: Adulteration Of Food Items In Nigerian Markets by Inik(m): 8:54pm On May 31, 2013
Nigerians do adulterate food products. Wicked and greedy people sell bad products in the market ranging from impure water packaged in satchets and sold off as "pure water" to expired tins of milk, some even mix garri with sand!

In my former street there was a shop owner who specialized in selling fake & expired products. He sold stale bread, rotten tomatoes, rotten eggs, stale buns, insect infested beans etc, the funny thing is that people bought from him! When they check other shops they can't find the items they will go back to "manage" the ones he had in stock.....smh

PoliticsRe: What Has Sule Lamido Really Achieved In Jigawa State? by Inik(op): 10:12am On May 31, 2013
kcjazz: Sule Lamido for the past few years has been groomed to become a future President of Nigeria, whether that would be 2015 or not can't say but he will be up there when a Northerner takes over. Under his leadership Jigawa State is growing and he has improved greatly the infrastructures in the state.

I am particularly happy for his vision in educating more women in the state as a means to reduce poverty. In the long run this is the real solution to violence in the North and he has focused greatly to make it work. He has one of the highest budget allocation on education in the country and that is no mean feat. So yes he is a Presidential material.

http://allafrica.com/stories/201305300865.html
Thanks for the link. His focus on education is commendable cos the levels of illiteracy in the north is quite high. I think he needs to speak out against the almajiri system.

You have already specified the reason... you girl wants to be famous..u said she is beautiful..in ur words.well beauty could be a blessing as well as a curse. But she is ambitious..ambitious to the level that she is ready to do anything to achieve it..

Come to think of it..why else would it be easy for a lady you claim to love and love you in return to just stop picking your calls..for these kind of people..anything can be sacrificed for ambition..she observed that these people u mentioned are famous..she aspires to be like one..one thing she doesn't know, however,is that if money ritual can make you rich..then you are actually destined to be rich..you were only in a hurry..but she is a lady..they mostly don't think deep.it has always been their characteristic feature...she is probably thinking of fame now.

Anyway..if u love her and truly love her.. Do not scorn her..nor abuse or condemn..try to make her see reason that joining these sect is not a guarantee of success..and that we r only hearing of few our of millions.. Common if it were to be a sure thing..u thing we won't all be part of the sect already...however nothing is sure.

Relax..it's called youthful exuberance she would come around..stop calling..go and see her..explain in a tender manner..be a man..take charge..understand with her..see from her perspective..but be sure to drive cheesy home your points..only you can help her.

I hope u understand..

God help u n her.
Thank you.

RomanceHelp! My Girldfriend Has Joined The Illuminati (Fiction) by Inik(op):
My girlfriend has joined or is about joining the illuminati sect. We have been together for 7 months without any major quarrel but two days ago we had a big argument over this issue and since then she has remained incommunicado.

It started three weeks ago when i checked through her phone(we are free with each other's phones) and i found out that she was browsing something on the history of the illuminati sect, i didn't pay much attention and casually asked her and she said she was just being curious and i decided to let it slide. Before now i had told her my view of the satanic sect called illuminati whose mission is to destroy all religions and impose a one world government on all of us.

Two days later i saw a photo she snapped with one of her friends; in the photo they were displaying the illuminati sign, covering one half of their faces with their palm. This aroused my suspicions. Later i overhead her chatting with this friend on the possibilty of getting a tattoo that week, this is coming from someone who in our prior discussions on this issue was always of the opinion that tattoos are devilish stuffs. I also noticed that she had started listening to music from illuminati based artists like lady gaga, Kanye west, Jayz and justin bieber. It was at this stage that i asked her why the sudden interest in the illuminati & if she wanted to join the illuminati but she just kept mum. I noticed she became overprotective of her phone.

Three days ago when she came to my place, my curiosity got the better of me and i timed her movements, when she went outside to pick up something, I went through her phone and saw that she had been browsing for illuminati centers in Nigeria. She rushed into the room, saw her phone in my hand & quickly grabbed it from me, i confronted her and she flared up and shouted “what's the big deal if she wanted to join the illuminati”, and left. Since then she has refused to pick my calls and have also refused to see me. I told my friend this and he said i was just being paranoid over nothing. The question that has been bothering my mind is 'Why would a beautiful 22 yrs old young lady be so interested in the illuminati all of a sudden'?
I love her and she loves me too, i don't want to lose her, neither do i want to be associated with anything that has to do with the illuminati.

Nairalanders what should i do?
