birdman: To be honest, this is a western way of thinking. To the African or Asian mind, this is a self-centered way of looking at things. The community's needs are bigger than your needs, and you are supposed to play your part by having a stable family that produces a responsible next generation. After all, a previous generation brought you into being and spent energy nuturing you. So you have to give back, otherwise you are being selfish.
I'm not saying its right, or wrong, but that's the general idea for non-western societies.
You can still achieve those things without having to get married. It seems like what you're describing here is more of a communal contract. You mention a previous generation bringing me into existence so are you trying to tell me that without marriage I wouldn't exist? Its almost as though you think that just because an individual or two individuals are not necessarily tied [I'm using this word loosely by the way] to another that they cannot produce a child. You can still have children and contribute to the needs of the community without having to marry.
Onchedu: The women that end up feeling sad and used fail to understand that wen it comes to sex, the woman is in charge and there are fewer among men who don't mind being called rapists than there are that do.
U hold the aces, U provide the opportunities for it to happen, if una no gree, we go go watch ball or do something else.
The only person U have no right to deny sex is your husband. The rest of us myt leave U feeling more than just sad and unhappy.
Yes, women do make the decision to partake in sex with men. Even if a woman agrees, there still some men out there who lure women into false relationships whether sexual or nonsexual [just as there are women who lure men as well]. Yes ultimately it is up to us to decide whether or not we want to have sex with someone but people still lie and within those lies are tools used to gain a woman's [or man's] trust.
Onchedu: The more important question would be ''What do I want from her,'' cos really, going after a girl is an art, not a science. U get a blank canvass to paint on with each one. Have U ever heard an artist asking his medium what it would want him to create with it?
I believe a good number of girls are more thriled asking themselves ''I wonder what he wants from me,'' cos it gives them a rich sense of value and desirability; than to think U are asking Urself what they want from U, cos that makes U appear unskilled and lost.
Unless she's already your woman, forget what she wants and go for what U want and in that she myt discover it's U she wants.
Meanwyl, Iice, easy lays would make some of us sad and feel used.
Sad and used huh? The same way some women feel [just a thought]. Anyway, what you've written is interesting.
Onchedu: your mum is a womderful woman. As much as I don't know her I have uncommon respect for her. She, in love, sacrificed herself for the better of other people. She could have chosen to opt out of her suffereings but she did the better thing and now U and your siblings have a good life. She has shown Christlikeness in her choices and that is very highly commendable. She isn't only a good mother but a wonderful wife. Tell her a stranger said so.
Now the only reason I'm not married yet is cos I'm not as financially stable as I feel I would be comfortable being, considering the responsibilities of being a good husband and father. If U no fit provide the basics comfortably e dey hard make love survive well o.
Marriage is a bed of roses. The thorns give it character without which it would be boring.
tpia: like a model would let herself be caught without makeup
Ummm newsflash, models are supported to look as clean and fresh as possible. When my friends go to open calls, they never wear make up.
ThiefOfHearts: one min yaya is Nigerian, next min she's Brazilian. girl just dey claim up and down. she's just lucky she's pretty else i for bash 'am
the rest are blah
simi brazil ko. simi didirin ni.
She wasn't claiming anything. She is of both Nigerian and Brazilian heritage. I once had a teacher who used to go to school with her at Yale. They weren't really friends though just acquaintances.
lagbaja21: I assume that you live in the western world, right? This is usually the case with our women who live there, They tend to want to emulate the white people, some take it too far like you.

CyberG: Was the bolded part a test? Okay, you got it! Well, it's not like if I screamed at the top of my voice here, even with a big megaphone, you could hear me over there, eh? Okay, I go yarn you something, holla at my email, 'cos your profile is as blank as a whitewashed wall!
CyberG: Inked. . .you're definitely in that picshure 'cos there's one cutie_beautie wiggling away her waist and bakassi in the shot! . I was in Imo for a little over 1 year. . .kai but the other question, you go blow my top secret CIA clearance cover for this cyberspace ooo!! . Okay, come closer and I will whisper it right into your left ear!
Come closer eh? Hehehe, ya didn't need to ask. I was already close the whole time .
What do your parents feel about this? I cannot tell my mum. I will break her heart and take away her happiness.
Hmmm, well I haven't spoken to them about about it directly but I think they have an idea about it since I'm the one in my family who's "different". So you, you're not interested in marriage eh? Hmmm, interesting. Would you mind sharing you're story with me? I tend to become fascinated when I come across other Nigerian who have similar if not the same views.
Ok, so how exactly am I supposed to use the fresh one? mash it up. . . . blend it. . . ?
You can use it however you want or however a hair recipe directs you to.
CyberG: ^^ Imo? That's nice but the sad part is I have now almost totally forgotten all the Igbo I learned otherwise, I be toasting away in Igbo language. I've been to Enugu too but I can remember more about Imo 'cos I spent more time there. In fact, I remember a traditional dance in one of the villages performed by a dance crew of ladies and it was good! I even took some pictures then. . .Inked, I hope you are in that pic?
lol, nah I doubt I'm on the pic . How long did you stay in Imo state and where are you from?
The only one I could find was the fresh one fromt he produce section. Is that what you guys use?
Yes, that's fine. Some people go over the top and feel that they need to buy everything organic in order to take care of their natural hair. You can use any kind of avocado you want just a long as its fresh.
I didnt buy the Dr. Woods one, but the one I showed you yest, from GNC. The dude just gave me 50% off right away. . . . Cant wait to make me natural mixtures
You don't have to buy the Dr. Wood's. Buy whichever one works for you or whichever one you like the best. Lucky you for getting that discount. Lemme me know how its goes when you start mixin' stuff together.
I've spent some time in Imo State and traveled almost the whole of the South East but why do they like dancing with their yansh in Imo State. I've had girlfriends from there and people claim the South Westerners are the ones always dancing with their yansh. Now with this incriminating video, I am beginning to think otherwise. Are there any experts who can shed a strong, illuminating light on these VERY interesting and HOT issue!?
I bet some people's eyes will be lighting-up like a goddamned Christmas tree after seeing this video. . .LOL.
Lmaaaaooooo, reminds me of my mom dancing. Hehehe, my sister cracked up when she saw the Imo state part because that's where we're from.
Honestly, I see her as just British not Nigerian. It's not like she's Ayo or Nnenka who both embrace their Nigerian heritage. Based on what I've seen from Sade, she barely seems to acknowledge her Nigeria heritage. I even had a couple of friends some years ago ask me if Sade was Spanish because she seemed to have Spanish influences in some of her music.
Here is my hope that inked nerd id online. I am currently trying to buy the organic avocado. Is the organic one the actual fresh avocado? Like the edable one? I'm currently at the store.
Oh I got the castile and the aloe vera juice. Yay me.
Eh ya, pele. Yes, it is edible. Whether its organic or genetically modified doesn't really matter. As long as it is the ingredient that you want t then its ok.
Move on. Its not like you can force him to love you. I know its hard the believe that no one may never be able to love as much as you can but its possible. There will be others . Listen to this song
