That's why I love etisalat, they don't waste money anyhow on celebrities who are their ambassadors. Rather they treat their customers right; they give the customers lots of freebies, their network and signal is excellent and their customer service is second to none. Just imagine this yeye Glo Wey dey buy cars and give money anyhow to a few people o! Dem no dey pay their staff correct money. Naso one time like that dem com my papa house for ikorodu say Dem wan site their mast dia, my family don dey happy say Dem go lease the land for one kian better money and mesef don dey reason how I go take part of the money further my education sef when the useless company call one ridiculous amount of money eh (like 2m for 10years o, in a built up area for ikorodu, Lagos o!) my whole family just curse them pursue them comot! Lol. The thing is eh, the company is fond of exploiting its customers, without giving back to them, and in turn en riches its few celebrities ambassadors, as if those guys can in any way really influence any Nigerian to go for their products. What most of these companies don't realise is that the average Nigerian considers factors such as price, affordability, durability, mass appeal, freebies(very important etc in buying a product, and not because one celeb has endorsed the product or company, because Nigerians don't really idolise celebrities like the white folks do in their climes. |

holocron:I couldn't agree with you more. I was actually agreeing with most of the op's sentiments until he brought in the issue of spirituality. The thing is ehn; while the whiteman takes the complex things and demystifies them, the African man takes the simple things and mystifies them. We as Africans really need to wake up from our slumber. We keep blaming everyone else, and not ourselves, for our problems. Africans are too shallow-minded, timid, contented with mediocrity and most times lack the power of introspection and deep thinking. We keep letting the mundane issues of life, eg ethnicity, tribalism, religious bigotry, unreasonable and excessive accumulation of material wealth, excessive adoration of wealth (I could go on and on), be cloud our reasoning and take our focus away from the big view of life. We need to take our destinies in our own hands, change our mentality about life, be more responsible, think more deeply, develop ourselves more mentally, stop letting irrelevant issues distract us from the bigger picture; if we can do these and a few more maybe we can HOPE to get close to the whiteman one day( hey! a guy can hope, can't he? ![]() We as a people need to sit down and have a total re-orientation about life; life is not all about eating, sleeping, dancing, f@#king and generally, just consuming and not creating anything or making oneself useful in the general scheme of things. |
walexy30:Guy to buttress your point eh, I've seen where omoniles in an area were literally fighting the residents of the place because of a company that moved in. Apparently, the omoniles had collected money from the company and also the company had employed some of their youths, so when the folks in the area were complaining about some of the perceived excesses of the company, the omoniles took sides with the company to protect "their interest and investment". My firm was called in to settle the matter and we had to enlist the help of the baale of the community, omo no be small matter o, but thank God the issue was settled and everybody lived happily ever after! Lol. Back to the topic; companies have a right to site their business wherever they feel is conducive for them, afterall they're profit-making organisations and not charities, so it is wrong for the Niger-deltans to dictate where the company should site its business. Moreover, the Niger-delta region has this unenviable reputation has a place where expats can be kidnapped anyhow; so you see expats and foreigners go about with heavily armed security over there, something they don't do in Lagos. So my advice to my Niger-delta people is that they really need to make their region more conducive and accommodating for businesses. The well-worn excuse that the people there are poor and that the federal govt and the system make them react negatively to foreigners is no longer tenable, because you don't cut your nose to spite your face (case in point, the boko haram nonsense going on in the north east). If you want your standard of living to improve, you need to get formal education, encourage businesses and most importantly; hold your leaders accountable, a situation where you celebrate mediocrity and stupid political leadership should no longer be tolerated. Enough said. |
gatiano:Chief, seeing this your highly "entertaining"rebuttal to my post,I guess I've no other choice than to leave you to enjoy your sense of grandeur and (permit me to use the word) disillusionment. Peace bro ![]() |
gatiano:My guy leave this matter, the lady is right; we need to move forward rather than get stuck in the past. Yes the African man built the pyramids, clock, compass etc but you must agree that the whiteman's technological innovations far surpass all I've ascribed to the blackman. Or do you what to compare going to the moon (possibly Mars and other far-flung planets in the not too distant future) and all these technological marvels posted here, to the blackman's inventions? don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to dismiss or belittle these inventions made by the blackman(which were quite novel and ingenious back then), but we can't as Africans continue to live in the past or believe that when we create a "little thing" then we "don arrive" and as such we're the next best thing after rice! Whether you like it or not we just don't cut it where these guys (ie the Asians and whites) stand tech-wise. We really need to get our heads outta our arses and get to work, cos the rate at which these guys keep on moving forward we may not be able to catch up o! |
Feck!!! We Nigerians have just been shortCHANGED by these thieving bastards called politicians!!! *angry face* |
Etisalat all the way!!! The internet speed is fantastic, I hardly ever experience drop calls on the network and they give numerous freebies (an you imagine, I get #600 anytime I load #300 credit on my phone!!); plus their customer service is outta this world!! I broke my MTN sim 2years ago and ported to etisalat and since then I've never had a reason to regret the decision ![]() |
He was a very expensive and deadly mistake that I pray we never make again. |
litaninja:Chief go through my post again, nowhere did I compare Lagos to Dubai. I made reference to those places in Dubai to highlight the fact that in different societies in the world not all citizens can afford luxury goods, like some are arguing on this thread; however, though they cannot afford luxury goods, these people (my humble self inclusive; for now nonetheless benefit from such luxury goods; they can sell the goods, service/maintain them etc for those who can afford them. And the government also gets taxes from these kinds of goods and the taxes are used for the good of the society. Simples |
To all those folks up there asking "how many people in Lagos can afford to get a place in this Eko Atlantic city?" I ask them "how many Emeratis can afford to stay at the burj kalifa or al buraj in Dubai?"because you will find out that its mostly the super rich citizens and tourists that stay there. What most of us don't get is that you spend money(lots of it) to make more money. Lagos state needs to open up more revenue streams to be able to take care of its needs. Just imagine the taxes alone that this project will generate when completed; the jobs to be created by the service sectors maintaining it, its tourism potentials and so also the prestige it gives Nigeria in the international community, knowing fully well that the perception of the white man( and other non blacks out there) is that "can anything good come out of Africa?". In fact, you know what? If its even just to show to the rest of the world that the blackman is not totally "dumb", and can use his brain to do something worthwhile(apart from evil), omo I'm totally down with this project abeg!!!! Lol |
ayoolanr:Guy in world politics and affairs, respect is not given on pity or on a platter, you EARN IT!! The whites used to treat the Chinese(Asians generally self) like turds; but take a look at the relationship between the two races now. Nowadays the whites defer to and respect the Asians, why? Those little yellow, slanty eyed, buggers got their shit together! If we blacks can do away with all these primordial and primitive sentiments;close ranks and work our butts off, then maybe we can earn the respect we so badly crave from other folks. My philosophy in life is: if pesin dey do u, shey u sef no go give ur sef brain one day, think and work to free ur sef from the bondage of the slave master? We Nigerians/Africans really need to think of how we want the rest of the world to place us in international matters, cos other world citizens don't give any regard to us when it comes to international affairs, to them we don't figure at all(although they sometimes give SA a shout out, but look at the SA now self, the black man is about to run it to the ground(cue Zimbabwe). Using the state of the countries on the African continent as a yardstick I think the black man is incapable of governing himself. We are so quick to demand and agitate for independence from the white man (or a fellow black man as the case may be- cue south Sudan. But when we finally get the independence we fu@k up so badly, we justify the white man's assertion that "these dirty niggers can't govern themselves properly, we have to help them govern themselves." I just pray one of these days the black man go get sense and start to take hin destiny for im own hands and stop waiting for others to come do it for him. |
Rather than the black man face his problems and deal with them squarely, he blames it on the white man, his dead ancestors, the God/gods etc. I smh at some stupid mofos here trying to sound all nationalistic and defensive. Looking at this picture, we as Nigerians/black race should cover our eyes and hang our heads in shame! You say you're not inferior to the white man, yet your actions, thought patterns, way of life and reasoning shows otherwise (check out Nigeria, SA, Zimbabwe, Burundi, congo etc for reference points) the white man keep on making life easier, while the black man makes life harder than it is for himself and his unborn children. So my guys(rossike&meanswar or whatever your monikers are) shove your black emancipation sh*ts down your black scrawny yanshes and deal with the home truth that we blacks are seriously lost in the great scheme of things in the bigger world, so get off your damn high horse and smell the burning coffee, bross!!! Kai!!! *exasperated sign* |
If you still use MTN then my friend you're on a very longgggg tin! Lol I ported my MTN line to etisalat last year and ever since then I've been rejoicing. Etisalat's browsing experience is outta this world!! There are hardly ever drop calls on the network and when I load #300 it gets tripled to #900!!! I love etisalat so much that I've 3 etisalat lines, one for my modem, one for my BB and another for my droid. My simple advice to folks complaining about MTN is to just port to etisalat and enjoy quality, no hassle telecom service. Peace |
A well built, lovely and affordable 3bedroom bungalow in a very serene location in the Agric area of ikorodu, Lagos State is up for rent. The rooms in the building are énsuite, and all rooms are tiled. There is a large expanse of land in front of the building for relaxation and ample parking space. Rent is #250,000 for one year, while agreement and commission fees is #100,000; in total #350,000. Call 08185727426 for more details. See some pictures of the apartment below.

Na who still dey use MTN sef? I ported my MTN line to Etisalat last year when the network became too erratic and expensive and MTN is overrated IMO |
I've uninstalled my chrome and opera cos of this browser. The developers at ucweb really did a darn good job designing this browser, I'm loving it!! Its fast, download speed is off the chain, and has lots of customizations. I hope they don't drop their guards, but keep on improving the software. |
Although I take this story with a handful of salt, however knowing how politics work in nigeria, you can never say never. If apc should dare let pdp arrow heads defect emass to their party and also give the relevant and sensitive posts, then I would begin to question I and others of like mind's fight change of the staus quo. Cos we voted to change pdp, we can't sit down nd see the same pdp sneak in through the backdoors, can we? |
I don't for one second believe this news report from Sun newspaper, because I've known them to be really tainted and bias in their reportage. So it could be the pdp trying to be mischievous leading to the polls. However, be that as it may, I don't like the way the oba of Lagos dabbles into partisan politics. I really think he should take a cue from the oba of ijebu land and not take an open stance on any candidate, even though he could support his candidate behind closed doors. that's the way an oba should behave. And yes, I'll rather want the apc to govern Lagos now; the party had always complained in the past that the pdp-controlled federal govt was sabotaging its efforts at taking Lagos higher than it is now. So now that the party is in control at the federal level, I would want to give them a chance to prove to me that they can truely get the job done using the almighty "federal might". If they don't perform wonders in 4years time, then we boot them out! Simples |
Chief hafa. If I order for one, do I get free delivery? |
Comon sharrap dia Mr Oku ïgbe!!! Not only did you tell people to call you a bastard if apc survived, you also boasted, frantically, in a forum that buhari will NEVER win the election and govern nigeria again! You were caught on camera shouting this rubbish at the top of your lungs; I Ðĕÿ watch the clip now sef and laughing my arse off at your stupidity! Mr man Āƃěg accept your new name in good spirit....BASTARD!!!! :@ |
in my own opinion, I think the solution to first solving this problem is identifying your cultural identity and embracing it fully. I'm yoruba and you hardly see a yoruba person bear a foreign name. We bear our indigenous names with pride. In fact nowadays, most yoruba parents specifically look for "conk" yoruba names to give their child(ren) at birth, hardly do you see a yoruba man bear a foreign name. In my family(immediate and extended) none of us has foreign middle names as it is the usual practice amongst a lot of family in our contemporary society. However, same cannot be said of many igbo folks; you see igbo men and women proudly bear Anglicized names (peter, Ben, Paul, Catherine etc) and many would even "funklize" their names to sound Behind eg "genny" "chinny" "emmy"etc. And sorry to say this( because it might come across as being patronising or insulting, but please I mean no offence) but many igbo folks are insecure. I know of one igbo lady, she works in a top bank in Lagos, she speaks yoruba more than I do and refers to fellow igbos as "those people"!!! Another example was when I was in the university in Ogun state, I knew this guy nicknamed "sienna" it was in my final year that I got to know he was igbo. The darn guy spoke yoruba and had yoruba mannerisms like no other. And to cap it all, he couldn't speak one word of igbo to save his life!! So I really think the igbos should embrace their cultural identity more, although that's not to say they should isolate themselves from other cultures, but then, you've to be proud of who you are and where you come from. Shalom (sorry for the long epistle ![]() |
I've tried loads of launchers, hundreds in fact! Lol, but I'll recommend two for anyone. Apus and colour themer launchers. These two are great, but apus takes the edge, cos of its speed and intuitiveness. I would've loved to continue using colour themer, but it slows down my phone. Appreciable mentions also goes to Buzz, Jolla, Sicksky and Z launchers, they all come with lovely customizations, but your phone's RAM might take a heavy hit. If you're looking for a launcher that does eat up your phone's resources, intuitively categorises your apps into folders and its lovely to look at, then I'll recommend Apus launcher. |
rozayx5:My guy if una like demonise buhari pass dis one Wey una Ðĕÿ do, I and my ilk to bloody care!! Anybody is just better than this present govt and its useless pdp. When we elect buhari and his party and they fu@k up we go vote them out like we vote out pdp!! ![]() |
The more reason why we must vote buhari in southwest come 2015, so that he can come and right the wrong he did to us back then!!! ps: what has gej done to better southwest and by extension, the lot of Nigerians as a whole(not his greedy cronies)? Merely stating the bad side of buhari and not telling us the good thing gej has done doesn't work for me at all ooo! |
Honestly speaking, with demands like these and comments made by igbo people daily in Lagos, rational and liberal yorubas like me are having a rethink about accomodating the igbos in our homeland.I must say that I've come across quite a number of igbo individuals who are very arrogant and disdainful to the yorubas. I was forced to really get angry with one igbo dude in a bus when the guy told me to stop speaking in yoruba and "speak a language everyone understands". Can u imagine?! Telling me not to speak my language in my own home!!(I'm a bonafide ikorodu boy, who can trace his ancestral home down to the 10th generation down here). someone above in this thread as given a sound advice to the igbos in Lagos; you cannot hold my culture and way of life in disdain and expect me to accept you. Igbos need to integrate themselves into the way of life in Lagos to be fully accepted as a major stakeholder. A situation where you see yourself firstly as an igbo from aba, nnewi or enugu and still expect to be regarded as a full Lagosian doesn't cut it at all. Y'all are quick to run down to your villages anytime a census is conducted (case in point, an American sees himself as American before being African, Chinese or Mexican). My advice is, fully integrate yourself with the people and place, don't look down on them or their way of life and "every other thing shall be added on to you" I'm of the philosophy of "live and let live", but please don't take a man's peaceful nature for cowardice or stupidity, when you continue to goad and taunt us with all these clannish demands and boasts, rational and well-meaning yoruba folks would be forced to react irrationally. That's my one cent. Ps: that guy posting offensive pictures of starving children is a BIG FOOL and troll. The mods should ban the IDiot ASAP! |
I used framaroot to root mine and I'm rocking it rooted big time!! Just install d app on ur phone, click on "install superSU", go down and click on "boromir" u'll thereafter see this msg "success...
