That can't work cos I have switched the boot to safe mode in msconfig.  No matter what choice I pick on the pre-safe mode page it just loops back.

Getting into BIOS cant undo that (as far as I know).

I need to get back into msconfig and choose normal boot as it was before.

at vulcan, when you cleaned the system, Kaspersky as I know will not delete system files when they are infested. Now the trojans and worms were still on the system files and that was what kasperky was warning you of, every time you booted. The worms would normally try to spread from those system files on booting.

YOu booting in safe mode and cleaning the viruses deleted some of the system files since the system files were not in use (In safe mode, the system load only necessary files and drivers).

SOLUTION:
you really dont need to have the recovery to do that, all you have to do is note the version of your Operating System (os). I will assume is xp pro service pack 2. Boot your system with the CD in the cd drive, Press any key to Boot from the CD when prompted, allow it to load to the stage it asks for AGREEMENT (F8 botton). Press F8  press ENTER TO INSTALL when prompted. It will serch for previous windows and will show your Current Windows on your C/ drive. Look below your screen. you will see: Esc = to install a fresh copy, R = repair, F3 = quit.

Press R (choose the repair option) and continue installation.

Choosing the repair option will repair your Windows and leave all your data and drivers intact.

I tried formatting my system and i got an error like no hard disk drives found on this computer meanwhile i use a compaq presario  c300 running windows xp media center edition. Av checked the device maager and everything seems to be alright but i still can't go ahead with formatting. Is it the CD am using or where could the prob be. Thanks

your problem is a very simple one. Don't think about throwing away the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) because it's still good and intact. I can bet you that YOUR HDD is a SATA hard disk. All you have to do is look for an XP with sata drivers and install, that will take care of it. Remember : ask precisely for XP with SATA DRIVERS. Good luck

There is something I want you all to get from Matt 4:1-10. The devil used the scripture to challenge Jesus. Supposing Jesus was not sound in the scripture, He would have fallen a victim just the way most of us are falling now to these “men of God”. The "men of God" in this Generation have made it seem as if 'Men can serve God ANY HOW'

It's now a norm for Ladies to wear Mini-skirt, Low-west and skimpy clothes to the church exposing all their Bodies for men to see. DEATH PENALTY?

Initially the MEND had a goal, later armed robbers, hudlums and outcasts saw that it was a good way of going about doing their gansterism thing and still getting the approval of the people around them. so they hid under the disguise of MEND. It's such a shame that the same people you say you are fighting for are the ones on the street now saying they don't want you anymore. They have shattered the roof that was covering them. If you (the Niger-Deltans especially) think these Hudlums have the interest of the masses at heart, you are just wasting your time.
