UK policies concerning international students swings like Pendulum. Jobs and accommodation are becoming harder to find for students. People should research other European countries with friendly immigration policies. UK is looking like scam for Japa now! Get your money and squeezed your out of the remaining money and then you finish your course but no COS for you, so you apply for post study visa paying more money for visa and IHS fee.

Hello

Few questions please

Is investment accounts part of the accounts accepted by UKVI?

Do you have access to the funds in your investment account whilst studying?

Cheers

Yes it is. UKVI accept Investment account provided the account is in your name and accessible by you.

God bless you all..

Please assist..

The UK Decision Making Centre is currently assessing the application submitted by the above named. We are unable to conclude the application at this time as we require additional information.

Please provide the following documents:

Evidence of the origin of funds for the following transactions in Fidelity Bank for account number xxx633:

31/05/2022 – NGN 10,000,000
15/06/2022 – NGN 3,000,000

Please explain the source of these transactions and how these funds have become available for your use.

Please send this document as a scanned attachment within 10 working days to: Sheffieldstudentteam.docrequestsInternal@fco.gov.uk quoting your application reference in the subject line. Please attach the document directly to the email as we are unable to access links to files hosted on sites such as Dropbox™ or Google Drive™. Please also include a translation of the document provided if it is not in English or Welsh.

Please note we are unable to receive emails and documents which are over 25mb in size. If your documents are over this limit, please send them over multiple emails to ensure we receive your documents.

Kind regards,

UK Decision Making Centre

He/she should explain the origin of the funds in his/her account as requested backing it up with documents such as sales receipt, loan agreement or a notarised gift certificate (if the money was a gift from his/her family member). As long as the documents are legitimate and the funds are not proceed of crimes/criminal activities it may probably fly with UKVI. It is always best to avoid large deposit in bank statement otherwise you send an explanatory letter with supporting docs upfront to avoid queries

Evening bosses, please my enrollment date is Sep 20, but the cheapest flight I could get is for Oct 4, please can I book the flight..hope it won't be too late to resume.

Then I might 3days lectures before then, hope I can attend online...I plan on booking Qatar or royal air Maroc or Ethiopian air

It is best you work within your last enrolment date stated on your CAS. Most school don’t joke with Enrolment; this is like a headcount of students who have resume and they share this with UKVI. If you’re not specifically allowed by your school to carry out enrolment online or extend it in writing beyond Sept 20, I will suggest you get to school on 19th in order not to miss enrolment otherwise the school may withdraw your sponsorship. Enrolment is different from online lectures.

Firstly, you are a sole parent and have the sole responsibility for your son due to the demise of his father. Highlight this in the additional information column so the ECO can note this.

Secondly, if his school runs a day school system, you can request the school to highlight that he journeys to school and returns home daily like other students in the school. if the school has boarding facilities and he is a day student, you can also request the school to highlight this on the letter to also show that he journeys to school from his home and returns home.

Thirdly, when the school highlights No 2 then reiterate the information in the additional information column to support point one that you have sole responsibility for him which also includes providing daily guidance as per school assignments etc as he returns daily home from school

*Kindly remember to include a copy of the marriage certificate and partner's death certificate with this application and mention in the additional information column that you have included this.*

Thank you for your response

Hello

It will either be a letter from school confirming his study, his address and who is perhaps responsible for his fees

2. Since we don't have NHS in Nigeria, you could add a letter from the hospital stating same address and responsibility i.e You paying medical bills and making his health decision

3. If you give steady upkeep for his school via is bank statement then you can also provide that

Please ensure they are verifiable

Cheers

Thanks and God bless

Thanks so much Duchess for your prompt response. About his age; would a letter from his school and his GTB SKS account statement suffice? Or what else do you think I can add to prove that he's still living with me?

Good morning @duchess90

Kindly respond to my questions below please:

@Justwise, @Duchess90 and all the gurus in the travel section, many thanks for your selfless service day and night to answer questions without ceasing. I commend your energies and your patience with all the enquiries especially the repeated ones. cool

I will be applying for my visa next week. I have a child (17 year old) who would be finishing his A Level exams early November while my course start Sept 26th. He is applying as a dependent (the father is late).

1. How long are the visa Vignette validity now? 30 days or 90 days?
2. Should I apply for his visa now and then he join me immediately after his exams in November
3. If the Vignette is 30 days and it expires before he enter UK what is the implication? Will his BRP still be available by Nov? Can he apply for a new Vignette if the old one expires before he travels or he will have to start a fresh visa Application?
4. Should I wait and apply for his dependent visa after his exams in November?

Kindly advise @Justwise @Duchess90 @mimilyrics and other pro in the house

I know the question has been answered but they need to plan as regards staying back

2 yrs sch, 2 yrs post study for husband

Wife can do the same, 2 yrs sch, 2 yrs post study.. That's 8 yrs towards 10 yrs ILR

This is assuming they didn't get sponsorship or decide to seek PR in AU or Canada

From your explanation that will require n simultaneously and will be seen as 2 yrs study and 2 years PG study visa. It will only be advantageous for ILR if the couple run it one after the other not at the same time

I choose uk over Ireland not anymore will I go back Ireland cos they don't have family package like uk for master students

I tried study visa in Australia it failed...
In 2017-2018 , i tried
America , student visa , failed.. i studied this tread back to back and fail at four attempt for American student visa.
Seriously, i gave up on anything visa or studying abroad..
It was my younger brother who begged me to pls try uk , i said i have family and cant be throwing money away like this ...
In 2022 i reluctantly tried that of Uk student visa and came back to this tried again..
This time , i was just reading as usual and expecting to have the same results...
Note i already have 17 years study after my BSC...
To God be the glory my uk student visa landed today... It seems to me like a dream.
For all those awaiting visa, yours will come through soonest and you will testify too.

If the account and fund is genuinely hers and not runs, she doesn't need to be making transaction in the account. People have frozen their accounts for 28 -30 days on this thread, print out for POF and gotten visa

I did o. I'm a good writer... IELTS writing 8 (not blowing my own horn but I'm not new to personal statement/statement of Purpose) Over the years I've gotten scholarships to attend various short course from enterprise development center (Lagos Business School) I've done short courses based on the new path I want to follow hence the course and career change. My CV listed all of that.

Anyways I applied to other schools too. This is just Chester's reply and on their site they stated mature applicants are welcome. If not for Canadian visa refusal (based on my special needs child posing a burden to their health and social welfare...story for another day) I also got partial scholarship to university of British Columbia I had to forfeit.

Has anyone here over 15years study gap gotten admission for Master's? If yes which school?

I have from Birmingham City Uni, Sussex, Exeter, Bedfordshire, Cranfield, Buckinghamshire New Uni, Exeter

If you are coming in into the UK, especially as a student or a dependent, you need to get these ASAP in your first days of entering to give you some sort of soft landing

BRP
NIN (National Insurance Number)
Bank Account
Proof of Address (Accommodation)

These four above will ease your life greatly in your first few days / weeks. Meanwhile, getting no.4 is not for the faint hearted especially for a family.

1. BRP is already waiting for you in your chosen location (post office or school)

2. NI you apply online via the almighty gov . uk site with your BRP n other docs (it takes weeks 1-16 max to be issued the number and very easy steps to navigate)

3. Bank account : thank God for online banks, those old generation banks (HSBC,Lloyds, RBS etc) will ask you to bring your ancestral land allocation form from God grin
Nevertheless, you still need them big time in your journey of life in d UK.
So, to cross this hurdle use this MONZO referral link below for now and when you get settled big time, you go for the old gen banks

https://join.monzo.com/c/v95pvrl

(You get £5 for signing up thru it when you make card payment within 30 days of opening the account)

4. Accommodation start browsing these sites
Rightmove
Gumtree
Zoopla
Open rent (you interact with property owners directly but beware of scammers fronting as landlords)
Facebook market etc (beware of scammers)
Word of mouth
Friends and family connect

You can get your accommodation sorted right while still in 9ja. I know some who did thru a known agent.
Meanwhile, You might need the following if eventually you get a letting agent or a landlord who is ready to rent a property to you.
- a UK based guarantor (a citizen or homeowner or both)
- a deposit fee (just like refundable caution fee for 9ja)
- an holding fee (to get the property off market; refundable)
- a month rent

NOTE If these sites don’t give you what you want, then have your minimum of 6 months rent ready

Opportunities abound but Chinese, Indians and others are taking over.

Prepare and plan adequately

Thanks and God bless you for putting this together. @justwise and other Moderators I think this should be added to the 1st page
