FamilyRe: Do I Leave Or Remain In This? by Iranoladun(f): 5:13pm On May 12, 2012
@op you've heard it from most people here.
My own 2cents:
Do a sudden death approach. Cut off all the fat. Disconnect your dstv, dont buy fuel for the generator, send the maid packing immediately if he refuse to take care of the kids arrange after school care for them. Tell him to get his butt out of the door daily looking for a job and give him one month to get a legal job no matter how menial or he would need to look for another address. No cooking lunch or breakfast for him, dont do anything for him again, no pocket money or toileteries

Even thoughI usually do not recommend it bt you need to call his family for a meeting with your parents in attendance. He may dissappear if you give him prior notice so it may be best you make it a suprise meeting. The Agenda is to discuss his joblessness and extract a public committment from him to get a job within a specified time frame.

You really tried! 8 years! That your hubby is a loafer and please do not waste your money setting him up in any business. If he has any business sense or shame he would have draw up a business plan since and ask you for help!

PoliticsRe: Bukola Saraki Travelling Mobb Deep by Iranoladun(f): 4:31pm On May 01, 2012
I seriously doubt that this case will eventually be tried.

If you are all wondering why Bukola Saraki 'choose' to go and see the IG rather than report at SFU Ikoyi as been touted in the media; the present IG was Bukola's father (Senator (Dr) Olusola Saraki) personal Police/orderly when he was a senator during the 2nd republic and he's still very close to the baba. So Bukola may not be seriously prosecuted afterall.
PoliticsRe: BOMB Blast In KANO Few Minutes Ago by Iranoladun(f):
Bomb blast seems to be a daily affair now in the north! Nigerian government and security agencies appears clueless or is it helpless to tackle the menace.

It wont be long when the citizen will be push to the wall and suddenly start a revolution. From the views of an average northerner (not islamic fanatics oh), they are equally tire of these terrorist AKA Boko Haram because when they attack both muslim and christian, southerner and northerner perish along. I strongly believe that Boko Haram has long been hijacked by politicians cum capitalist to serve their selfish interest. Until our leaders grow some balls and deal decisively with terrorist (including financial/economic terrorists) and their sponsors without fear or favour this country may never no peace

HealthRe: Nairalanders Please Where I Can Get Tampon In Nigeria by Iranoladun(f): 2:02pm On Apr 30, 2012
Ha! Ha! May be you gals are searching for Tampons at an average corner shop/kiosk usually run by Mallams. You won't find it because most people don't stock it or use it.

You don't also have to get to Shoprite or big Supermarket to get your tampons. Check for Tampons at most Pharmacy Shops, Cosmetics Shops and Supermarkets even most popular market in major cities. It is usually displayed very close to where you have sanitary pads like Always etc.

I found tampons very convenient and neater than pads plus it ensure you smell nice when you are on especially if you change it often. I've been using Tampons like forever and even back then in Ilorin when it wasn't popular I always get my stock in the Cosmetic Stalls. I am a tampon addict cool
FamilyRe: Nigerian Women Hiding Money From Spouses Becoming A Serious Issue by Iranoladun(f): 11:23pm On Apr 29, 2012
@topic and Jennykadry
It depend on the sincerity of both partners. Imagine a woman so sincere with her finances for years but discovered subsequently that the hubby was not in fact he was keeping a concubine. Would any right thinking person advise such a woman to continue declaring & submitting her income to hubby? I think not.
Husband buys property in his name and expect his wife to be handing over her income to him every month? huh

He who wants equity must come with clean hands! undecided
Some women became cunning after their bitter experiences with our men. I think our society is not yet mature enough in terms of culture to nurture a partnership kind of marriage that require absolute sincerity from both partners!
FamilyRe: How Supportive Was Your Significant Other While You Were Pregnant? by Iranoladun(f): 10:53pm On Apr 27, 2012
Mine was never supportive. Despite knowing how to cook or do chore; he simply believe its a woman job to get pregnant and cope at the same time. Thank God for Housekeeper and my kid sister helping me to cook my favourite efo soko and roasted fish with only pepper (no, onions, no maggi, no nothing; just pepper, salt and fish). Even the day I put to bed, he was so scare that he didn't know what to do, I had to take charge till my mum's arrival. sad

Thank God we still have men that are supportive kiss
RomanceRe: Wife had Tattoo Inked all over her body Without My Consent by Iranoladun(f): 2:16pm On Apr 10, 2012
I do not agree with the poster view.

Your wife should discuss it with you before getting the tatoo not seek your permission. If the role is reverse will you ask your wife for permission before getting a tatoo? When people get marry two has become one hence each partner should have consideration for the other person feeling when taking actions by discussing with them but not by seeking 'permission'.

For all those claiming that a man must have seen your wife's private parts while doing the tatoo. There are Females Tatoo artist as well as males.

However, your post reek of issue bordering on trust and communication. You need to sort out trust issue with your wife. Trust is the foundation of a good marriage. If the foundation is shaken the roof may collapse. Without trust every simple thing seem extra-ordinary!

FamilyRe: Just Before Your Wedding, Your Husband Tells You He's Impotent by Iranoladun(f): 4:05pm On Mar 10, 2012
I will call off the wedding.

I won't go along with a relationship based on falsehood.

At that time, it would be too early to determine his level of insincerity; I will be wondering what other things he's hiding from me. Trust will be lacking in that union and deception will be the foundation!

FamilyRe: Heart Breakin Story by Iranoladun(f): 10:33pm On Mar 09, 2012
The two of them should thank their stars for the separation. Their union would have been based on conditions; for better for stay, for worse for go. In short, it would have been marriage of convenience; they don't love each other!
HealthRe: Male Doctors Should Stop Pertaking In Pregnancy Check Up. by Iranoladun(f): 11:54am On Mar 08, 2012
the fact is there are shortages of female Gyn and Female doctors.

I think the practice rather should be a female nurse should be present when a male Gyn is examining a female patient and vice versa.  Until the percentage of female Gyn or doctor becomes adequate I think this should be the practice!

FamilyRe: Do Live-in Relatives Ruin The Spark In A Marriage? by Iranoladun(f): 11:01am On Feb 26, 2012
for a young couple I will say no relative. If they need help let them get someone that comes in on weekend to do general cleaning & laundry (relative or paid help). If they have a baby a relative may come for a short while to assist. Young couple need to study each other, fight & make up, bond and set the ground rules in their own house before relatives undue interference.

However it all depend on how accommodating they are and the family background. Don't go and marry Mother Theresa and expect that he/she won't be running the home like a hostel/hotel.

Its also better to discuss and agree on all this during courtship though so there are less surprises.
FamilyRe: How Do Career Women Cope With Domestic Chores? - Help! by Iranoladun(f): 12:49pm On Feb 15, 2012
in addition to all the advises, Poster plan your meals and your time. For instance, create a meal time table, includes food you have partially cooked on weekends e.g. Yam pottage, jollof rice, parboiled rice for fried rice minus the Veggies (you can store diced veggies in the fridge and add to the rice whenever you want to eat it), porridge beans, moin moin etc. There are days that for dinner everyone in my house will take garri plus moin moin; no food to cook only warm the moin moin and less dishes to wash.

Also plan when/how you do your laundry and cleaning. Reduce Sweeping/cleaning to  weekends or 2ce in a week.

When you go for shopping go with a shopping list. It will help you to manage your shopping time, money and ensure you have all the ingredients you will need to keep your home.

Also check what part of your life or routine is the most stressful? My advise may be unpopular but have you consider getting another job with regular hour ( 8am to 5pm and not 8am to 6.30pm).

What about getting a job closer to your home or getting your home closer to your job? Do the maths it may actually be cheaper and less stressful

CareerRe: Is There Something Inconsequential That People Do At Work That Irritates You? by Iranoladun(f): 4:13pm On Feb 10, 2012
Colleagues with dirty fingernails, unkempt hair, unkempt look especially men

Men holding/scratching their crotch while talking angry shocked
A boss with smelly mouth and will be getting closer to you when talking; I always sit far away from him during meetings.  I don't know how to give him the hints about his Oral bombing huh

Senior colleague dropping work on your laps with difficult timeline and expecting you to perform a miracle

People eating food with very strong smell in the office  e.g. Efo Riro, Ofada rice, Akara etc and with no courtesy of aerating the room and using air freshener

People who get late to meetings and think they're cool undecided

People who wear flip flop slippers around the office while leaving their 'Shoe' at their desk.  Wear comfortable shoe for Christ sake; it's really not cool especially with ladies (reserve your 5 -7 inches stilleto for the catwalk/runway show during that special event not as an everyday office wear huh

People with Body odour; we used to have a Tea Girl with very strong BO who was recruited by the office Skunk (like beget likes).  Having bought her deodorant severally and counseled her on hygiene without result. I personally fired her!

People who don't mind their fucking business. They always poke nose into your work and also try to intrude into your privacy angry
PoliticsRe: High Court Dethrones Obong Of Calabar, Abasi Otu V by Iranoladun(f): 7:14pm On Jan 30, 2012
Chief Anthony Ani's case against the Obong was probably stalled due to the Governor's meddling. So on Friday when the Supreme court passed the Judgement on Liyel Imoke's tenure as governor of Cross River; I knew the judgement for this Obong case will be deliver any moment.

Expect more of such cases in other states affected!
HealthRe: Weight Loss Success, Please Share Your Story by Iranoladun(f): 5:09pm On Jan 17, 2012
I gradually reduced my food intake and resume working out on my abandoned treadmill. wink

I've lost 3Kg (just started a couple of weeks ago).  Now I eat once or twice daily with Cucumber in between my meal (I eat it with the green skin and seed).  The Cucumber help in reducing my hunger pang and is almost zero calory cool.   My advise control your mouth; no snacking, no soda and watch out on eating too much fruit that contains sugar.  For me 1 or 2 banana a day and 1 orange. Carrot and cabbage (cole slaw-minus Salad cream).  I eat small portion of meals.

My target is to loose 10 to 12 KG by June (6 months)

FamilyRe: Can A Man With Ac Genotype Marry A Woman With As Genotype by Iranoladun(f): 2:46pm On Dec 30, 2011
For pre-natal testing of babies to determine their genotype try O & G dept of LUTH, Idi - Araba, Lagos, UCH, Ibadan, OAUTH Ile Ife, UNIBEN teaching hospital and a host of other teaching hospitals in Nigeria.

If you're truly in love genotype will be the last thing on your mind. I'm AS and my hubby is AC; we don't have any SC and I always thank I did not allow genotype deprive me of a wonderful marriage. God knows I will marry my husband a thousand times over (my only regret is not marrying him early enough).

All the people talking about genotype testing even before dating; I wish you luck in getting a wonderful partner. With the advent of technology, I will rather marry whom I love and who equally loves me than getting someone with a genotype AA that is a devil re-incarnate! There are worst disease one can develop in life aside Sickle cell disease o jare!
FamilyRe: What Is The Most Painful Part Of Childbrith? by Iranoladun(f): 10:53pm On Dec 27, 2011
If I may recall the most painful part for me was the intermitent contractions. They were more painful than the final push; you tend to concentrate on the contractions and anticipate the pains.

Rokiatu, just pray for a short and safe labour. Mine were always within 2 to 3 hours and I'm done.
