VRDroid: I strongly believe that human beings should not have children if they do not know the purpose of LIFE and Existence.
And if you know the purpose of LIFE and Existence, the young should be raised by their parents in loving, creative, educational environment devoid of external influences. That is called Home.
It is okay to vet and hire the best brains in the Mathematics, Languages, Quantum Sciences and zero Religions but Skills, Money Management and Global Economics.
Boarding Schooling is businesses and owners of those businesses have marketed it in a way that parents have forgotten the core reason of inductive learning.
If you have no chance to Educate yourself holistically on Life and Existence, it is pointless having children. Because you end up bringing Spirits into this reality and loading their blank memory chips with concocted cocktails of information that defragments their compartmentalized faculties and leave them confused.
Boarding school becomes an escape route for parents who think money can solve their laziness.
Raise your kids in love. Stop relegating your responsibilities to strangers simply because you are too lazy and think money can pay for your suspended responsibilities.
Once a child is 18. Get that child a living and residence outside the home to make mistakes and learn Independence.
18 years is not a long time to tolerate the inconveniences and raise a Soul.
Peace and Love to you all.
God bless you for this piece!! Most people give birth to children they ain’t prepared to raise. They use Nannies, housemaids and when the child is of age they shipped them away from home/parents to boarding house - some as early as primary school such children learn to live like ‘orphans’.
Broda Isiaka was darker back in the days while Aunty Florence retain her colour. Now Broda Isiaka is almost the same colour with Aunty. Constituted colour
frowland: There are two Island here in Japan that have not seen light either. Why I pointed this out is that so some gullible readers will understand the challenges of taking electricity across a river. It might kill fishes if there is leakage, and change the marine ecosystem forever. There are many other mini islands in Asia that have this same issue. So let no one deceive you here with PDP/APC sentiments.
What about Solar or mini hydro grid strictly for the island? Are they not Lagosians and Nigerians deserving basic infrastructure
Wash your face morning and night using warm water and a very mild soap then apply Acne- Out made by Biotrade. Acne out is available on Jumia and pharmacy like Healthplus, Medplus etc. initially apply it Day and night after improvement reduce it to night only. You will notice an improvement within 3 days.
Every 2 days wash your face first with warm water and soap then apply egg albumin on your face (the clear liquid in raw egg). Leave it on for 5 minutes and then rinse with cold water. The allantoin and collagen in the albumin will help remove your blackheads and smooth out your face
ceejay675: Nice thread... Am currently having challenges with my Toyota camry 2005. I awlays refill the water reservoir everyday. I mean the coolant reservoir. The mechanic said I should change the radiator to double cell which I have done but the problem still persist.. I have even changed water pump still the same problem.. I don't know what else to do.. The car does not over heat just that am afraid it will over heat if I stop putting water in that reservoir. Please I need ideas on how to solve this... I'm in awka
If your radiator is not leaking and the hoses and pipes are intact just change your radiator cover to a new one and observe for some days
Pascopele: Guys, Can we stop buying vegetables at Supermarkets, Spar, Shoptrite, shops etc? and support our mothers on the streetsThey have families to feed.
Pass it o
If the vegetables on the street are as clean as that of the supermarket why not? Our market needs to be seriously upgraded. In 2019 Meat is still been put on unhygienic slabs, tables and trays open to dust and flies. Vegetables and grains are sold in open basin susceptible to all sort of impurities.
I understand Flour Mills just launch their Gari, if it meet my taste (sour) I will stop buying Gari in open market and patronize them. Our food packaging is archaic jare
Rural people use mosquito nets to cover vegetable beds and nursery to ward off pest like birds, grasshoppers, etc. They rarely use the net to ward off mosquitoes.
I agree that a need analysis should be conducted and another means of fighting malaria or preventing malaria should be use.

Yewandequeen: This is Nigeria dear, they will pay their way out. Those bodies u mentioned won't do anything.
No, I differ. The company may bribe government agencies/officials but not human rights group and international agencies. We should never keep quiet in the face of tyranny otherwise organisation will keep trying nonsense policies and practices.
Some people commenting are even making it a ladies things as if it is okay to be watching men in the toilet when they are urinating or pooing!
Office toilets ain't built like residential toilets na haba. There is a lobby/passage and that is where the camera will be placed(it. Will face those coming in or right by the door). The toilets are partitioned like ATM but with door (if u know What I mean). They can't put cameras in each of the toilet rooms. It will only be in the passage, No cause for resigning. Just wear ur panties, adjust all the adjustable before u step of the cubicle then your are good to go.
Unless the situation is as painted above otherwise she can anonymously report the organisation to the authorities e.g. Min of Labour, Lagos state office of the public defender, min of women affairs, NBA, human rights group and the civil society. If the organization wants to monitor employee pooing and weeing live on camera that is invasion of privacy and against ILO standards
Ojojo, which is also called “water yam fritters or water yam akara”, is a common street food in Nigeria, you get to find this recipe a lot in Lagos and other Yoruba states. If you have never eaten any water yam recipes before, it will be nice to start with Ojojo. These crunchy yam fritters are indeed tasty and easy to make in the comfort of your home; all you need is your fresh water yam and very few veggies and seasonings. I love to have Ojojo with custard, but you can still pair it with pap or oatmeal or enjoy ojojo just the way it is like your regular snacks. Follow the steps below and also watch the video above to see how to make Nigerian Ojojo.
Ojojo Ingredients
1. 1 medium sized water yam 2. 1 scotch bonnet pepper, chopped 3. 1 medium onion, chopped 4. 1 stick of spring onion, chopped 5. 1 teaspoon of all-purpose seasoning 6. Salt to taste 7. Enough oil for frying Steps on How to Prepare Ojojo
1. Peel off the water yam skin using a knife, cut into chunks and rinse in water. 2. Use hand held grater with tiny holes to grate the yam chunks into a bowl. 3. Season the water yam paste with all-purpose seasoning, onions, spring onions, pepper and salt. 4. Using your hand, mix the yam paste thoroughly until all the seasonings and the veggies are incorporated. 5. On a medium- high heat, heat up oil in a pan deep enough to fry all the water yam paste. 6. Once the oil is heated, use your fingers to scoop the water yam paste forming a ball with the paste and gently drop in the hot oil. 7. Repeat this process multiple times and don’t over crowd the pan, fry each side of water yam balls for 3 minutes, and then use a slotted spoon to flip the balls to the next side to fry as well. 8. Once you notice the edges turning slightly brown and the balls looks crisp on the outside, it means they are fried. Remove the water yam from the oil and drain on paper towels, repeat the same process with the remaining water yam paste until you are done with everything. 9. Ojojo is ready, serve hot with Custard or Akamu.
Add mackerel fish (Titus fish) or sardine, or egg or shrimp and your Ojojo will be transformed
Farmerforlife: Check your contract of employment and find out what the disengagement policy is, how many days' notice etc. You do not have to do a thing beyond what is stipulated there, since finding a replacement cannot possibly be your responsibility, so don't let them intimidate you. As long as you have given them the required notice, you are free to go. Usually, employment contracts give you the option of forgoing your required notice period's pay if you are unable to do the time, so there should be no reason for you to miss your new job appointment. It is good to try to maintain good relations with the old company, but don't waste any opportunities on pampering their clingy incompetence. If they are still unable to get a replacement at the time you leave, offer to work with them on private contract basis during your free time. Make sure you charge them accordingly. Good luck.
Up there is the best advise. In addition prepare a detailed handover note and handover to whoever the MD nominates to take over from you and leave.
Do not under any circumstances stay back in this company. It is purely run as a capitalistic company focus strictly on profit without regards for employees welfare or progress.
The company was expanding and did not consider expanding your pay but only expanded your workload and refused to hire more hands until you gave them quit notice!
ScorpioMoon: I don't understand why a lot of Nigerians think these homes are expensive or out of reach. Is it the white color of the house, large windows or the fact it looks neat and straightforward? it's simple and elegant and very easy to build because its square shape . the Nigerian houses I see in fact seem to be the difficult one to build .
examine the houses below . only the outer layer is concrete . completed within 3 days . Inside is partitioned with hard wooden wall . in one week the entire house is completed .
How much is the total cost? Have you built this type of house in Nigeria and where? Can you give the details like the square meters of the entire house, rooms, bathrooms etc
The future is here imagine the possibilities; no need of saving money or taking loan to buy a car, no more driver Wahala, no more ‘oga Westin you carry’ , no more ‘wey your particulars’ etc
Oil, our major earner is at $60 per barrel. We need it to be at $120 per barrel to meet daily obligations without borrowing. And even at high oil prices, GEJ borrowed.
The alternative is that we raise taxes to as high as 50% of your earned income, remove subsidies, restrict spending to power, technical education and transport, increase school fees , power bills, deregulate the oil downstream sector to as much as selling fuel for n200 PER LITER, and so on.
And even then , we still have to take loans.
I agree that this govt is lacking ideas....coherent ideas....but just don't critique for the fun of it.
The Alternative is to plug the revenue leakages, reduce cost of governance, dissolve and scrap unnecesary boards, ministries, parastatals, civil servants and elephant projects. If the savings are not enough for our needs then we may borrow
josh001: I still do my brother. You see, mine is farther than Iyana-Ipaja. You know where it gets worse, I am a lawyer and I have to wear white shirts every working day of the week. It is a daily struggle to keep my white clean. I shake my head each day I get back home, I trust God will do something soon anyway.
Go with your spare white shirt in a bag while you wear street cloth. Same for shoe, wear street shoe and change when you get to work. In those days I kept a permanent jacket in the office
Also avoid okada unless it is absolutely necessary because they are more expensive than buses and keke. Check your route well and consult with people plying your route in other to get tips on cheap transport or alternative routes
Which aging with grace? If you know tha amount of money she spent on pills, nutrition and different beauty procedures you won't say that. It is rather a case of money well spend and result of passion and dedication
whitebrown: Which way Nigeria? High level of pesticides in beans!!! We really need clear thinking and sound judgment in this country. Our solutions should be strategic(long term). We have a failing health sector, the health sector can't cope with patients. Consuming food this high in pesticides will only result in people developing illnesses and diseases sooner or later. This puts further pressure on the health sector. We say we have been consuming this and nothing happened, really? Do we understand that the lack of adequate data collection in Nigeria obscures the severity of health problems? Eu has extended the ban for another 3 years, what of the people in Nigeria who consume these as a staple? So we believe our body is immune to the effect of this pesticides. All I see is this committee and that committee with no implementation of any recommendations. So if the eu had not tested the food and determined that they are pesticides laden, we as a nation were never going to find out. This is synonymous to the eu saying to us "you all can kill and poison yourselves but please don't come kill our people". The food is not good to be consumed by any individual living in any of the eu countries but we as a nation couldn't do the needful to protect its own citizens. Instead of tackling issues like this relation to 'fit for consumption' status of our food, we rather worry about the symptoms(health implication) and not the cause( toxic level of pesticides in our food). I ask again, "which way Nigeria?"
You are on point.
I have been worrying about the pesticide content of our beans for a couple of years. I suddenly realise that weevil are not attacking the beans as much as before.
What nailed it for me was last year when my daughter planted beans gotten from different sources for a school project and all of them failed to germinate.
We have been consuming pesticide laden beans for years without any inkling.
Who test and certified fit for consumption our beans and other foodstuff in the open market?
If it is NAFDAC we have enter a one chance bus. NAFDAC is already overwhelm chasing pharmaceutical and cosmetic company!
