I am guilty of the data bundle. @ topic: Buying stuff you really don't need. For me I will say beauty cream, hair cream/lotions, etc (who get time to be applying all those cream? ), household gadgets/accessories Sometimes you may also shop in the wrong market/supermarket. Imagine buying stuff at a retail store that is probably charging you 50 to 80% more for the same unit in a wholesale market/store? Always take time to do price checks and need justification before buying an item expensive does not necessarily mean it's better ![]() We are also guilty of buying one kitchen gadget or the other. if you have a dress/shoe that you have not worn in 6 months or a gadget that you have not equally use once in 6 months you probably do not need to own it. That is your money tie down and slowly depreciating My exception to the above rule is my Christmas or Expensive one-in-town (isale -Apoti) dress/shoe ![]() |
@coogar it is you who did not read the op very well. The US official says delivery cost at least $60,000 and you must show proof of having the money. $60,000 is not the least; that's a blatant lie from a government official ![]() I have friends and colleagues who gave birth legally in the US (based on medical referral) and they did not spend even $20,000! May be the officials believed that by exaggerating the bills potential foreign Mothers will be discourage. |
@aniffy4eva and dubem3 I'm sorry about your loss and I thank God for the restoration and the strength to deal with the loss. |
So sorry about this By the way miracles do happen. It is not over until it is over. The couple need each other right now because they are really vulnerable. The husband shuold grant the wife her wish of staying beside their child during this difficult time but he cannot abandon his wife and daughter to their fate. He needs to be there for them offer a shoulder for the wife to cry on and give her the courage to deal with the situation. He should not allow this incident to put his union asunder. There is always a rainbow at the end of a cloud ![]() |
cantell: @Op,@ Cantell. I think you're missing the point here. Anyone who post here know that this is not a shrink forum and by the way Jenny stated in her post that some people are even in an abusive realtionship wihout knowing it I am assuming thread like this will be educative for all to recognise the early symptoms of abuse (physical, emotional/psychological) and how to deal with it. If you are a therapist then please share some tips on these symptoms. @ post Abuse could occur in different fora e.g. abuse between married couples, romantic relationship, ordinary friendship, family; parents to child or vice versa, amongst siblings, work place and even in some religious organization. |
@Post Madam, this your hubby is definitely up to something with his secretive nature ![]() Please itemized all your areas of concerns with the ways he treat his ex (is she really an ex ), the kids and you in an objective manner. Do let him know as calmly as possible how all these issues are affecting you and your marriage going forward. Present your case to him without being judgemental. and listen to his explanation or reasons. If truly he is completely over his ex and wants you he will reason with you and make amends. Be very vigilant though because the outcome of this discussion will be a pointer towards whether you are in a subtle ploygamy and what you are going to do with this reality or whether you will get your husband back fully ![]() |
]if you are an illegal immigrant; you have no SSN and no tax payment records. FIR will probably make payment of all the arrears of tax for an illegal immigrant a condition in order to qualify for amnesty citizenship |
Majoo: My people Dangote company is not good for nigerian to work there. Dangote enslve Nigerian and Enrich Indian he pay nigerian Technician N40,000 and pay Indian Technician $2,000 with house, transport and feeding free of charge. Dangote has 89 indian GM and only one Nigeria GM and in Dangote company no union any attempt you will be sack immediately without questioning . @ Majoo, What you type is an absolute lie, Dangote has more than one Nigeria GM. I happen to know 3 of their Nigerian General Managers. Stop whipping up sentiments. Most companies pay Expatriate more than the indigenes; much as I am not justifying paying one person much more money simply because of his citizenry I think we should not colour the facts. Expatriate pay versus Nigerian pay disparity is a product of our corruption-laden system. It has almost become the norm in Nigeria sadly ![]() @ topic training allowance for a participant undergoing pre-employment training/pre-employment assessment should not be confused with training allowance for a fully employed permanent staff. |
Teach your girl child how to clean up after using the toilet early enough e.g from age 4 and above so that no uncle or auntie get them abuse while pretending to be cleaning them up! |
Marriage and family is all about sacrifice. The choice of where to work, where to live, type of vehicle to buy even sometimes types of friends to be close to are very crucial once you are marry and have children. Op, you need to balance this new career choice/move with your family. If your wife is not in support don't go. With offshore rig job even if they are in the same city with you, you wont get to see them until after your shift; most oil companies are very strict they want your undivided attention during your shift. If you are however prepare to 'loose' your wife and family then take the job against your wife's opposition. Money is not everything! |
Miss big time :Did she fire her hair stylist |
This is really a barbaric act Stripping full grown men naked because they were alleged to be g.a.y. ![]() We are loosing it in this country I thought we have gone pass the age of "jungle justice" SMH ![]() |
@ Post So by 31st of December I should kiss St Louis bye bye I support the outright ban in order to boost local production. If we look at our history of some of the essential commodities that their importation were banned in the past (partially) it does not work. We banned importation of finished/package juice (OBJ did this in his era) in order to boost local production but we allow importation of juice concentrate. Now you can find imported juice in our local markets and supermarkets. ![]() We banned importation of leather shoes and Swiss lace. It is widely available in fact that is what our leaders wear (President, VP, Governors etc). How many of our government officials wear Made in Aba shoes, Bata Shoes, Lennards Shoes and Nichemwax Fabrics ![]() Imported rice It is available in every market and every homes. In fact it is a luxury to find/eat our local "Ofada" Rice ![]() If we do outright ban on Sugar and these items and we focus on cultivating/developing the local industry via support, funding, plantation etc then we would win in the long run ![]() |
You must know how to dribble round Okada (commercial motorbike), pedestrian and Marwa (Tricycle) if you must drive on most Lagos road ![]() The fear of LASTMA, FRSC, Police is the beginning of wisdom. When you sight them from afar you better 'behave' especially when weekend is approaching or in December when everyone of the corrupt official is looking for the 'maga' that will 'pay' their christmas bonus ![]() |
@ Post If this is true, this is the most bizzare end of year gift I have come across in Nigeria Is Access bank in partnership with Dangote, BUA Sugar or they've taken over the asset of a customer dealing in sugar ![]() They could have arrange a gift card for the same value of the sugar that is acceptable in major stores where staff could pick items that is of value to them. Their HR team and management creativity is really poor. Even small home appliances (with the same value) would have been an alternative if they cannot afford the usual rice. Packets of Sugar ![]() |
May the soul of all the victims rest in peace and may God grant their families comfort and strength |
@Post Have you try visiting a Gyneacologist? May be your wife Veegee needs to be examined; I don't know but it may be an abnormality. Did she have normal delivery during your child birth or CS? |
Congratulations debrief! Wish you many more promotions and blessings! |
Incredible disciplinarian! God bless her |
Anybody who is familiar with Ifeanyi Uba will know that it is a question of time for him to crash-land ![]() The guy lacks financial discipline which is a key success factor in business especially when you are heavy user of bank loans ![]() I remember attending a meeting with him 3 years ago and how shocked I was when he made financial pledge running into millions of naira on the spur of the moment. I personally followed up with the organizer and was equally surprised to learn that he redeemed the pledge the next business day after the meeting |
Excuse me, Is this in the joke section ![]() Why are people posting 'jokes' and derailing the thread ![]() @Post, I agree with your list except "Rice Cooker". You can actually use it to cook rice easily with no stress. I use it whenever we are on generator; put rice, water, salt etc plug in and then move on to something else. Mine has a timer so I do not have to check intermittently if rice is done or not. My list for now goes thus: 1. Sandwich Maker (My family do not eat "cooked" sandwich; I think I've only used it once in the last couple of years) 2. Vegetable grater (I use my hand grater or Food processor instead of this) 3. Electric Pressure Pot (PHCN will not allow me to use this so I use the gas cooker Pressure Pot instead) 4. Percolator (Now we take instant coffee and percolator is now redundant) quote author=sophy09]There are some kitchen gadgets that are waste of money and yet people still buy them. These are some of the kitchen gadgets I feel they are a waste of money: Electric Wok (why not use a frying pan) Electric can opener Electric knife Hand blender (what do you need it for when you have a blend already) Rice Cooker Salad spinner
|

BUT I BET IF ALL YOU COWARDS THAT GOT HELD TO RANSOM CATCH SOMEONE WHO STEALS A LOAF OF BREAD IN THE MARKET, YOU WILL STRIP HIM N-AKED AND BEAT HIM BEFORE BURNING HIM TO DEATH. The evil that men do lives after them... ![]() So ti ya tan na ni yen Gbogbo kira klta, afefe yeye, lala koko fefe,; lo ba pari ![]() I thought Oloye will never die with all the jazz and amala politics ![]() I am so happy that the man that held Kwara to ransom is finally gone. Where is the picture of the winner? How come the winner's announcement coincide with NCC announcement of banning all forms of promotions/lottery by the telephone companies? This looks like 'arangee' winning/winner. ![]() I hope it is not a Nollywood movies otherwise expect part 2 ![]() |
Mum. Hmm... ![]() God bless her, she was always around nurturing and disciplining sometimes even to a fault. I was a difficult child and would have gone haywire but my mum never waiver in her determination to see me tow the straight line. It was cat and dog love then but now I love her so much especially now that I am old enough to understand/appreciate all her efforts. Dad was only there to intervene when the discipline was too much or to support Mum when the issue was serious |

OzReal: Bwahahahahhaahaha! Is this true or you're just exaggerating?Absolutely true! The guy did not even showed any sign of discomfort or stress. I think he must have assume he did very well at the interview or that 'enemies are at work' ![]() |
@all the men shouting Eureka! You should be careful. The second to the last sentence in the write up says:‘It could be that women cheat more, or there are lots of bullish men out there who are accusing their girlfriends of cheating when they speak to any other man.’And while adulterers might think they can now get away with anything, cheaters beware – the app could also be secretly downloaded by a suspicious husband or wife onto their spouse’s phone to create an invisible record of calls and texts. The application could also be use to secretly monitor phone calls and text messages by a suspicious spouse without the suspect's knowledge Just may be this is the reason so many women were buying and downloading the software o jare ![]() |
@ Topic This is a general problem! I believe this is one of the reasons that employers of labour in Nigeria keep saying that Nigeria Graduates are unemployable! I recall an encounter with a graduate of Electrical Engineering of the same ESUT in 2001 during an interview for the position of BTS Trainee Engineer. We asked him to draw a simple/basic electrical circuit diagram, he was unable to do that within the time alloted (30 minutes), we were all shocked |
God will catch all those thieves that are using their company as a conduit pipe to drain away our collective wealth. This man and his company are among the oil thieves club of Nigeria ![]() |
