naptu2:I am not advocating they should be scrapped. I am saying the fess should be regulated, as what is obtainable everywhere else. Tuition fees set unilaterally by private schools is not in the best interest of the country, it has so many disadvantages 1. Parents are left at the mercy of the shylock school owners. 2. Yes, changing your child's school just because the school authority increases the tuition unannounced or makes them too high means the child school rhythm is disturbed. 3. Teachers are priced out of public school for greener pastures, leaving behind a poorly motivated public school workforce and the attendant problems of strike and what not. 4. The turnover rate of teachers in these private schools is crazy as teachers are at the mercies of the proprietors. I rather have the tuition moderated and regulated so that the choice remains with the parents. |
Next year? My God, that will already be the third year of his 4 year tenure. By then election scheming and subtle campaign would have commence for 2019. This is already too late by next year. |
This is sad, to note that education for grade 1 through 6 is now at minimum 400k per semester, that is 1.2million per year. The FG should rein in on some of this excesses. Schools should be regulated and school fees should be fixed. If you are not ready to provide the service and you are in it for the quick profit from totally dis-oriented parents then you should quit. |
A sad reflection on the type of schooling we receive. No creativity, no innovative ideas to turn around the southward economic indices. .........alas we are on a free fall, hope we hit terminal velocity soon |
sharpden:Mr Lai Mohammed, the problem why Nigerians is in recession is that you and and majority in Office have no clue on how to solve the myriads of problem. You guys are leaders by happenstance with no clear plan to berth at a safe shore. And yes, the reason why you guys are so lazy and bereft of ideas is that you guys rely on the same crude oil, which in my opinion is the bane of our economy. You see the likes of you and those in this government will first do well to rid yourself of the dependence on crude oil and then come to the economic table with your thinking caps on. For economic management is not for the mentally lazy and it is neither a tea party where national cakes are shared to those with the largest LGs but zero inputs in a terribly idea called Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting monthly. Please did I hear you say how to achieve this. First, take off the crude oil proceed from the FG account. That way you and the FG do not get any income from crude oil sales. That way we do not need to share any sales proceed. The proceed accruable to the government will be concession fee, tax returns, royalties, regulatory fines, fees and other charges and all other associated fines like EIA and Environmental fines for waste or non-conformity to standards. If these organisations handling these roles are up and doing, take it from me we do not need the proceeds from sales as the proceeds from these alone will be triple that of sales. The sales proceed goes entirely in sovereign welth fund for savings and re-investment. With this done, draw up value chains for all mineral resources in the country and vigorously send out lazy foreign ministers and ambassador on a Foreign Investment Drive, a target if you wish for which performance measures will be granted for effectiveness based on the FDIs attracted by them. Send out the lazy interior minister on FDI target and ensure measures are taken for every year or else let someone else try. Fight, lobby seek expert views and come up with fail safe policies for their exploitation, production and utilisation. proceeds of their sales goes to their individual Sovereign wealth fund and re-investment managers with a plan in view for post each-mineral era so that the investment proceeds marches or surpasses the proceed from the exploitation of each mineral. 1. Draw up a 36 model city with all its associated infrastructure, tourism allure and other trappings that make the city a place people want to come to and ensure a not more than 4 years plan fully paid up execution. This will turn the whole country into a construction yard, the so called jobs you finding it difficult to provide will automatically be created. Domestic expenditure will improve and FG revenue generated by VAT and other taxes. Government wins in both situations. 2. Draw up a nothing less than 40-60GW electricity smart network with projection of 10GW increase every 5 years. 3. Plan a foreign policy of reciprocity: negotiate for better deals for Nigerian emigrants. 4. Build capacity in agriculture and agro-allied industries. 5. Complete in a 5years plan an integrated transportation master plan such that a speed train between Maiduguri and indeed any two farthest point in Nigeria is about an 1hr or an 1 hr and the half. This will crash the real estate menace in mega cities and de-congest the cities. 6. Nickel has just be found in you country, where is the plan for the value chain. How do you intend to match the income post-nickel production to Nickel production....in other word what are your investment plan. Many more if you guys are thinking above self and not interested in being politically right or since it now too familiar, half of the time you and your FG play to the gallery or or can not stop blaming GEJ. All this energies can find useful use in thinking up solutions. If you need help with ideas Nigerians with beautiful ideas abound for 1 every kobo. Please do not insult us with this lazy resort to blames of mono-product economy, this tape or message must have overplayed itself already. Am available if you need help. |
midolian:Inibehe Effiong and co sit at the comfort of the south and pen this and other co-ed rubbish. What if He effiong was amongst those like me who was there at the catholic church when the bomb went off, will he dare to write this paid editorial rebuff. See if Kabiru as not been released, he effiong and co should simply use their journalist pass to get a picture of him in prison with them. a picture they say speak more than a thousand words. To release Kabiru or to contemplate a release of him is sheer MADNESS and an insult to the dead. Effiong and co, should not court with swear and invite the blood of the dead that day. He and his co brown envelop travellers should steer clear of topics like this, rather they should help the affected and those who lost someone that day heal by ensuring Kabiru and Co do not see the light of another day and ensuring justice for those affected by the bomb blast is done by the present president. |

We need to come up with a Nigeria-centric plan for exploitation and production of Nickel. We must use the crude oil as an example and produce a plan that will see Nigeria and Nigerians maximize the benefits of such natural resource. Firstly, come up with the whole value chain for Nickel. Secondly, attract foreign investment for all the value chain for Nickel and setup policies and laws that will make it a success. Thirdly, develop a local content law for Nickel ensuring Nigerians and Nigerian Company are allowed 60% local content. Fourthly, make sure only finished items of Nickel are exported. If you want it, Come into Nigeria. Make your setup, Produce and export from Nigeria. Fifthly, ensure proceed from the sales of Nickel is not shared like is the case for crude oil. Plan for post Nickel resources, by ensuring proceed are sovereign bonded or saved at least 30%. 70% of the proceed should be used according to the following plan: 1. Immediately initialise, pay in full will a delivery time line of 18months a nothing less than 40,000 MW power plan. 2. Ensure nothing less than 36 cities upgrade in infrastructure, utilities and lifestyle living which will attract the tourism much needed for our country plus forward looking in project involved in so that we can meet pragmatism as well as aesthetics. 3.Complete the Nigeria Integrated transport master plan with a 5 years in mind. 4. Create the Nigeria-centric society where Nigeria work for Nigerians and the sheer fact you are a Nigerian means your life is secured at least from the dividend from our sovereign investments. 5. Complete the Ajaokuta Steel plant was a lateral-integration for Nickel produce. Anything short of these means we are not learning from our mistakes and it is better we do not tap the resources as it will amount to waste of good resource as well as remarkable opportunity to come out of our poor statehood. |

sllay:I do not get people like this who said you should not physically assault a woman that has assaulted you. What the Bleep was she thinking. Yes, the woman has assaulted the man, emotionally, verbally and physically by spitting on him. We must understand this, and the ladies should learn a thing or two from the genetic make up of a guy and a lady. Men defense mechanism is his strength and hence react by physical means, they are encoded this way. Gentleman or monster, he results to physical means to resolve his grouse , frustration or threat. The woman's weapon is her mouth- The terrible, horrible and damaging words she spew per minute. That is why women talk more than guys. This gentlemen is her weapon and her defense mechanism. What she lacks in strength is made up for in talking. So in this case and almost in every other case of this nature, women make use of all her strength to the fullest and the men are to compete with her in her area of strength, Talking!!!!? Even in talking, you are term a "woman wrapper; as guys are not to talk". Brother for a piece of advice from me. The woman is wrong in so many ways. If you love her that much, call her and in no uncertain terms tell her she has to manage her anger or both of you are done. And when next she cross the line by assaulting you by words or physically, both of you are done as the alternative would mean you resulting to physical means. Send her home as you planned, as it is a marker and a strength that you will not tolerate her assault. And if she result to self help as in the previous time to looking for old love, you will know she is irredeemable. |

Soludo the solution. Combine this with an iron clad people oriented policy with the sole aim of improving employment situation then we are looking at the required volts to start this dying heart of Africa last hope. The Politics/Economic war room with economist and politicians with Spartan training is all we need. |
Girls of today are mostly unclad in dress sense. So no need asking her for nudes. Just tell her you guys are going out for a romantic outing or a kewl place, then you will see her 50 shades of nudity for your viewing delight. |
Indeed I believe that their is an Elijah in the midst of the quacks we call MEN Of God. This is telling the "catholic" truth the way it should be told, without fear or embellishment. ....O king!!!!, am not careful to answer thee on this matter.... if I perish I perish....Book of Daniel(Daniel vs Nebuchadnezzar) |
Enelamah said, “The key is to create the right incentive, regulation and policy so that people can work with them and do more locally than just importing. The other thing I should mention is that Nigeria has an industrial revolution plan developed by the last government, but the plan needs to be revisited. “We need to look beyond the rhetorics and actually implement what we are talking about, because I believe that if we implement them, we will get better result.” .....thinking the definition of cluelessness again. Business goals like that of Dangote's is so intense but he makes it look so easy. |
Treachery begets treachery and many dooms to come. From the hollow calleth the voice of reason. Ye the falconers voice fainteth now. The world has gone a whoring who shall reason with her; who shall redeem her, The south West. Pray i tell thee, the signs in the stars O APC. Pray i tell thee, when Venus will consummate her love with Mercury. Pray I tell thee, when these groups of political discontent, strange bed fellows united to oust!!! Political misfits heralding the signs of the star of David, Ye! of Freedom. Of Pluto running away satisfied with her consuming lust for Saturn, the devil..... nay for fellow progressives has gone North. Once again i say Pray, for the hour is now upon us. Ye the hour now is. APC must rise above self, be counted and for once she will be responsible for all things that has goes wrong. We will see how they stutter, maybe stammer for political reason. How they fumble and stumble as they learn to walk the political tight rope of governance. Howbeit the path reserved for political Gladiators, yes of Champions- when the shout of Maximus...nay Sai Buhari The great deafens all reasoning. A path, yes, reserved for the bravest of men with heart forged with the finest of steel of Nigeria hardship. The Electorate have tasted blood, Ye until the four bloodmoons ceases they will not be satiated. I wrote this in 2014, now am amazed about the accuracy.....@Lallastica over to you...put it on front page make people share their fears and hopes of the APC government before the elections and after. We need to find consolation, discover our faults and learn to avoid a repeat. |
I wasn't comfortable when the Foreign Minister of State to the US came calling to Nigeria and his first first point of official stop was in the office of the Sultan of Sokoto. Something was off. What promotion of peace had he engaged in to merit such visit when systemic elimination of Christians is ripe. Secondly telling the BH to fight against anybody is even demonic and he should have be dethroned immediately as it simply means he endorses the group howbeit to infidels. FFK endorsement for the @realDonaldTrump is his right as a human to be aligned politically if he so pleases even if i think he is a catfish. The news yesterday from Kaduna about another Christian massacre is to tell you this is a systemic genocide. The fact they are so bold tells you they have political support. *modified* Mr Trump ...is all of this true?... Our Changing Government..... This information has all been checked... it is 100% Correct. That's why there is such an alarm within US government, since Trump's statement about temporary suspension of migration of Muslims to US till US authorities make sure there is a proper concept of safe penetration of US territory. People are stunned to learn that the head of the U.S. CIA is a Muslim! Do hope this wakes up some! Until it hits you like a ton of bricks read it again, until you understand! We now have a Muslim government! John Brennan, current head of the CIA converted to Islam while stationed in Saudi Arabia . Obama's top adviser, Valerie Jarrett, is a Muslim who was born in Iran where her parents still live. Hillary Clinton's top adviser, Huma Abedin is a Muslim, whose mother and brother are still involved in the now outlawed Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt ! Assistant Secretary for Policy Development for Homeland Security, Arif Aikhan, is a Muslim . Homeland Security Adviser, Mohammed Elibiary, is a Muslim . Obama adviser and founder of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, Salam al-Marayati, is a Muslim. Obama's Sharia Czar, Imam Mohamed Magid, of the Islamic Society of North America is a Muslim . Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships, Eboo Patel, is a Muslim . Nancy Pelosi announced she will appoint Rep Andre Carson, D-Ind, a Muslim , as the first Muslim lawmaker on the House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, of all things! It would make Carson the first Muslim to serve on the committee that receives intelligence on the threat of Islamic militants in the Middle East! He has suggested that U.S. schools should be modeled after Islamic madrassas, where education is based on the Quran!!! Last but not least, our closet Muslim himself, Barack Hussein Obama. It's questionable if Obama ever officially took the oath of office when he was sworn in. He did not repeat the oath properly to defend our nation and our Constitution. Later the Democrats claimed he was given the oath again, in private. Yeah, right. CIA director John Brennan took his oath on a copy of the Constitution, not a Bible?? Valarie Jarret wrote her college thesis on how she wanted to change America into a Muslim friendly nation and she is a Obama top advisor! Congressman, Keith Ellison took his oath on a copy of the Qur'an, NOT the Bible! Conservative Congresswoman Michele Bachman, R-MN, was vilified and verbally tarred and feathered by Democrats when she voiced her concern about Muslims taking over our government! Considering all these appointments, it would explain why Obama and his minions are systematically destroying our nation, supporting radical Muslim groups worldwide, opening our southern border, and turning a blind eye to the genocide being perpetrated on Christians all over Africa and the Middle East ! The more damage Obama does, the more arrogant he's become! Our nation and our government has been infiltrated by people who want to destroy us! It can only get worse! In his book Obama said, "if it comes down to it, I will side with the Muslims". |
Nigerian still searching for the proverbial "go make thy bricks without a straw" decree by Nigerian Pharaoh. They last sucker punch. This government should learn to ride their lucks, as Nigerians are being push to the wall and slowly reactions are bubbling to the surface through the social media. A listening government will recognise the voice of the falconers, and adjust her ways before a revolution erupts. |
FearGodAndLive:Your Jesus maybe. Not the one I read about in the Bible: for He fought no wars during his life time; but conquered much more than Alexander the Great. |

My problem from these lily-livered SANs who now pretend to be the vanguard of democracies is the conniving silence they assume when the issues of BH and the many reported ties to Buhari was presented by the last administration. None was bold enough to cry...crucify him. As anything done then had a political connotation and geared towards disqualifying their tin-god from running. For to dare to swim against the tide, you will be labelled a Wailer and scared of a PMB presidency. But they now found their useless voices in a conspiracy against a man, who in my view is too benevolent for my liking, to offer the position of the Law which was remarkably non-existent nay silent against their paymasters. Cowards and wolves in sheep clothing. They should have remembered the Law when the BH indicated that PMB was their patron and their only trusted go-between or negotiator with the state of Nigeria. Why didn't they call for the investigation of PMB and his alleged sponsoring of BH in order to win the elections, which worked by the way. Even in the heat of the electioneering and campaign, GEJ was stoned and mobbed in some parts of the North with bombs planted severally in places he is to campaign which were strong holds of APCs. Did he cry foul? No he took it has part of the game. For elections were a game and supposedly so, as assuredly one person will win and the others will be runner-up. To even mutter that it is a treasonable cause to attack the president by any sector of the country they kept conspiratorially silent. In addition when it was clear these people were paid by Governors of APC plus paid/rented affiliated BH groups to make some part of the country totally embroiled in a perpetual war so as to erode his several landmark achievements, which the current "regime" is currently celebrating nearly 2 years into a 4 years term leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Was PMB even probed for the 2011 elections. No. Was he probed for the WASC certificate. No Was he investigated concerning his ties with BH to have necessitated them declaring him their only trusted negotiator? No. Abeg make una leave Jona matter. he is not the only past President. Was it Jona that was sponsoring the militant when he was Governor, VP and President? Why will he then sponsor them when he has already left the presidency. Follow the money, then you will track all motives. The question is, to what gain is it for Jona to sponsor the militants now? That guy in my opinion was just too glad to leave the seat, hence he did not contest the result; even when he knows and it is evidently clear to even Donald Trump how falsely manipulated the last election result was, with massive Children votes in 90% of the North? Probably because he was already tired and knew he could only do his bit to make things better. Secondly, he was looking for a reasonable excuse to throw in the towel honourably and Lastly, does not even think the presidency was worth all the stress attached to it, when a certain region is in conspiracy for 5-6 years daily to wrest power back from you. At least not as much as the present baba who spent 12 years pursuing it. PMB should fight his battles and evolve innovative ways to appease the ND as was done by the Late President instead of looking for a political expressway/highway 2019 with Jonathan incarcerated. However, this will prove the proverbial "no straw to mould your bricks" decree issued by the Nigerian Pharaoh as there is so much a person can take. |
blueto:This picture says it all. We must first start early by genetic mapping of kids who by genes stand better chances at some sports or the other. Not taking to sport when all others has failed to work. |
Dannyset:Were the evidence not overtly clear during and after 2011 Elections. Why was your president not arrested? The are doing this to incapacitate the PDP as it were: but they have miscalculated in this game as the world will beg for the SS to leave Nigeria if and when they touch Jonathan. Why did your president severally indicted by the electoral violence committee failed to honor invitations and why the DSS fail to arrest him then? What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. |
I seriously blame GEJ for not locking up this lunatic for electoral violence. If the North were to riot, send in the Military to quell the rebellion and dissent in the street. GEJ should not bother answering these idiots. Why don't you invite him for questioning and see if he will honor any rubbish summons. And any group currently being used by the APC as it is oft their ply in trade, should know that they will be roundly defeated both on land and in the creeks. For indeed, they are set on a course of violent revolution. Iranu Oshi. |
...confirmed there is oil in the Northern Nigerian basins. The question is when they will discover commercial find. This will be good, as it will mean everyone comes to the table with a bargaining chip. And if they split they will soon discover that the geological play does not support the reservoir system in the Chad, Niger-Bida, NE basin as Nigeria is a big flush system which empties into the Niger Delta Basin. That is why the Anambra and the Dahomey geologic play holds little finds. To give you a better understanding, see the flow of the River Niger and Benue flow to estuaries in the South and particularly the SS. |
I just find it questionable that people around him, PMB, are dying. This is Africa, we cannot rule out questioning the re-occurrence of these deaths. RIP to the dead and we commiserate with the family of the departed. |
