BusinessRe: We Took The Best Economic Decision- Emefiele by isnovic(m): 10:09pm On Aug 14, 2016
Boss13:
Emefiele is a joker and I hope he is reading this. He talks about diversification; how will diversification come to play when the interest rate in this country is extremely high. Currently only about 0.05% of the Nigerian population is creating jobs. Who is going to diversify the economy - Dangotehuh Emefiele, in a recession, you reduce interest rate and not increase interest rate. You should put enormous pressure on Bank CEOs to start lending to start-ups. Enough of the currency trading and bond purchase practice of Banks, there should be real lending to support our economy. The profitability of Banks should be seen and felt in the economy. Banks should not grow without any economic growth.

To jump start the diversification and hopefully the exportation of good and services, which in turn will bring the much needed forex to the economy we need to do the following

1. Reduce to no greater than 6% personal loans, to encourage consumer spending.
This will increase the purchase of goods and services, improving gross domestic product via service purchased and VAT

2. Reduce Business loans to not greater than 3%. This will stimulate the real, production and manufacturing sector. Improve SMEs and create vibrant middle income belt that propels the economy in terms of job creation and the flourishing of ideas that turns to wealth.

3. Mandate the Banks to reduce the personal mortgage loans to no more than 3% spread over a 25% repayment period.
Housing is the major anxiety for any family, a affordable means to achieve that is key to settling a happier citizenry. Apart for improving the real sector of the economy the spin off of this industry will create jobs and wealth for skilled artisan and Engineers in various fields.

This will stop the anxiety for Nigerians, eliminate the get rich quickly and get money or die trying syndrome associated with us Nigerians.
As the basic needs of a person is food, shelter and clothing. When funds are made available at low interest rate these basic needs can be satisfied and hence less propensity to steal or be corrupted by others as your basic needs as a human being can be met easily.

We have to seriously try to put the money in the hands of people to create the spin effect of money. The Multiplier effect of money will disappear if the banks keeps making safe money with Government money like interest in forex and bonds
PoliticsRe: No State Is Unsafe In Nigeria, US Lied – Lai Mohammed by isnovic(m): 1:12pm On Aug 13, 2016
They celebrated US classification of Nigeria unsafe under GEJ to further their claims on how badly GEJ government was.

Now their former paymasters have served them a hors d'oeuvres.

The pressure is coming.

The US listens more to the street than the present government seems to.

Lai Mohammed should rather take this to his masters and forge policies, economic and otherwise that will even keep the foreigners working here safe at least before we talk of tourism that is dead already.

This is the index of safety of a country not what we the locals feel about how safe it is.

Do we have any vacationers wilfully coming to Nigeria for vacation.... the answer is hell NO.
The International Flight travels tell it all.

The people coming in are those working here, doing biz here already hence are stucked or those invited and would be restricted to Southern Nigeria and Abuja at most.
The rest are Nigerians travelling out.

We need to reboot this system.....ko le work bayi.

PoliticsRe: Igbo Traders In Kano Protest Killings Of Kinsmen by isnovic(m):
mrkayusfit:
Even though i condemn the killing of innocent people, i think the Igbo's need to be law abiding and respect their host for peace to thrive. Not everyone will be peaceful and accommodating like the yoruba's who ignored several provocations from the Igbo's despite calling Lagos a no man's land, calling yoruba's tenants in lagos, and calling Oba of lagos names for stating his opinion concerning governorship elections. Even though we are one Nigeria, i think the Igbo's should stop their dominating attitude and let peace reign when they are away in the SW or North sad
I do not think they are wrong here.
To kill someone for the sheer fact he is Igbo does not augur well for Nigeria and anyone for that matter.

If the Northern person can claim the oil in outback of SS and SE.
If the Yorubas can claim development and the federal infrastructure built by the tills of the oils and taxes of traders, workers of igbos and non igbo alike.
Why should the Igbo not be able to claim any land where they live, pay their dues and legitimately do their business Legit business that it.

This is the same notion held since 1960 that has kept the country backward. the country tried to firewall the Igbos even as way back 1962. Just 2 years after independence.
Why? Nigerians and indeed the Northern Elite had the notion igbos where arrogant, too forward, forceful and their never-back-down spirit. These notions is still prevalent today. Instead of embracing their nature, free entrepreneurial spirit and celebrating their acceptance of one Nigeria as pronounced in the No Victor No Vanquish statement after the war.

They are rather hounded, suppressed and told to be grateful and be respectful to their hosts anywhere outside the east else they will repeat what they did in the past. A sad macabre genocide in my opinion. With the proponents still in power and majority of them alive today.

My dear, a fool dies so many times before his death.

the Igbos are dearing. It is there nature.
We all can not be the same thing.

We should tolerate our difference, as even with all their mouth or "supposed"arrogance they still move to Lagos or North to do their business because they know at the end it all about securing your life and pronounce that you are alive, since there is a silent agreement to shut-out the igbos.

They blocked them from employment in early sixties in the North.

They introduce the Quota system to curtail the numbers of igbos and indeed southernerns (including the Yorubas who were reluctant to join the Army prefering Civil services and white collar jobs instead) in the Civil services and other professions even when on merit they are clearly better then the others.
From 1966-1970 the Nigeria state under the young military officers of which the present President was the driver of the truck that picked up the killed Igbo military men in the 1966 Northern Coup and the extensive Killings of Igbos and other Southernerns in the North for the fear they are Igbos and the fear of Decree 34 announced by Agunyi Ironsi.

My dear, if you are from this tribe you will do worst after what they have been through in the hands of Nigeria.

So don't blame them.
Walk in their shoes or read their history then you will understand their angst.

I read it and i have not remained the same again as i could not reconcile my hatred against these people before now.

I sympathise with them now. We need to talk about the 1960 to 1999 Igbo conundrum for them to be at peace.

PoliticsRe: Gowon: There's Nothing Wrong With Restructuring Nigeria, I Did It In 1967 by isnovic(m): 1:15pm On Aug 04, 2016
Bolustic:
Get this straight.

General JT Aguiyi Ironsi was the first to restructure Nigeria from regional governments to unitary one through Decree 34 of 1966 immediately the Ibos got power.

The northerners tasted it and saw how sweet it was and wouldn't let go.
Actually the Norhern rejected it, the mass riot in Kaduna and other Northern states then when Southerners were killed was partly due to the suspicion the Northern Elite felt about the unitary decree 34 of JTU Aguyi Ironsi.

Though they will later embrace it after the Northern coup and the Igbo purge of 1966 as the best form of the system after a 3 days lacuna ensued due to a marathon meeting between the "Human tempest" Gen Muritala Muhammed and the former Northern leaders displaced by the Ifeajuna/Kaduna coup.

They accepted it after it was discovered if they seceded as was the plan in the 1966 Northern coup they will not be able to survive financially knowing that Oil was recently discovered in commercial quantity in Mid West and the Central bank and Money is situated in the South.

In addition coupled with the Northern geography it will be landlocked with no seaport hence a ethnic suicide.

A revert to regional control was agreed by Gowon with Ojukwu in Aburi Accord in Ghana but was reneged after the Elites felt the agreement was a political suicide for the Northern Military Hegemony and gave Biafra and the East more than fair advantage in a well articulated front by Ojukwu.

But trust the Victors way of narrating stories, it must suit them....please let's read more and Avoid tribalism in any simple historic news we read bout nigeria.
Thanks for the reference.
Just finished devouring the master piece.

Cured my ignorance largely.

The causative factors that drove the imprisonment of Awolowo.
The division of the west--by 1964 called the wild west.

The botched first coup planned by Awolowo, the first real plan to get us to safety.

Never new that the first parliamentary fight was in the west, by the western premiere.

The real reason why Azikiwe "betrayed" the Yoruba, by forming alliance with Nigerian National Alliance to form a government in 1965.

How is Azikiwe's love for power made him a sellout to the Eastern premiere and the western premiere and why there was a mutual suspicion till today.

The counter punitive plan by his ally who felt betrayed in the civil war.

The origin of Igbo far out indiscretion and arrogance.

This book is a must read, to clear all grey areas of our history and to straighten all attempts to re-write history by these self serving fathers Azikiwe, Awolowo, Sardauna and Tafewa Balewa to claim heroes of our shared history.....

In fact am glad I read the book and thanks.

Fajuyi was a soldier's soldier. You can only follow someone to death if you love him to his/her soul or you are professionally loyal to death.

He was the later and yes he is a Soldier's soldier.

Truly humans live, die and repeat.

The same scenario is playing out again with the South East.

It is their turn now to produce a Nigerian President and a son of perdition was conscripted to speak in Hausa tongue, prepare ye the way of the North in 2019.
But unlike the Biblical John the Baptist, he does not sing or shout of righteousness but for the promise made to him and the hope of a vice president which will serve as an appeasement of the Northern King makers for him in 2023..

Like John the Baptist, this forerunner should remember that when the SE & SS are asked to dance, their price will be the political dynasty and head of Rochas.

lol...even me go spiritual.

If you can not find suitable qualified persons of SE extraction that can match toe for toe, qualification for qualification, achievement for achievement, integrity for integrity to any anointed candidates from Northern or Western extraction then you can simply confirm the marginalization of the zone and the systematic firewalling of people from these zones from main stream power equation.

Solution: Conduct a referendum for the two zones to decide whether they would like to stay or leave.

GreyLaw:
I want to consider what you wrote a huge joke! The problem is not whether or not the man's action would correct the girl, but the damage his overreaction has caused.

Do you even consider it that till the world ends, that girl's unclothed pictures will be all over the internet, to be feasted upon by both genuine viewers and perverts?

Fatherhood or not, the man got it absolutely wrong. Trust me, in developed Western countries this man would be facing the courts now and the girl taken away from him.

In fact, whatever the girl did is a reflection of the moral decadence of her home and, of course, poor home training.

The kid was foolish; the father was more foolish!

The morally
advanced society you cited are still studying more conservative cultures as a cure for the malaise in their style of parenting.
Last year, a survey in the US put children from Indian, Asian and Nigerian families to be better behaved than most children in the States.

Have we not seen or read these statistics of those advanced country and ours tirelessly?. the result are evident.

What pervs are you talking about, even if they gore at the online picture from now till eternity comes does it bore a hole in her skin. Hell No!!!

People have risen from much worse here in Nigerian.

So please spare me the archive threats of the internet, this is the least of her problems.

The man is not a citizen of an advanced country, but that of a "less advanced society" so he hasn't erred here. It is the norm and it is expected.

In fact, those days she would have been given a thorough beating by other women, remember it takes the whole village to raise an African child.

Now these benefits is lost in prisons we called flats, Duplexes and Private Homes/Estates and virtual world of internet and smartphones.

As no one claims a bastard child, except nowadays where shame is replaced with baby mamas syndrome.

The problem is that we are torn with identity crisis, we can not be whiter than the white and we have long sold our cultures to remain truly African. Hence we are not all white in our culture now and can never be and neither are we still 100% African in values, norms, and culture. we are lost somewhere in the middle.

Did you grow up in an African home where your sisters were sexually active at this age or had the temerity to bring their bed mate to their parents home, I am certain you did not, you dare not dare to dream about this.

As family name and reputation is everything back then not these days where followings on social media and the craze for views/blogs traffic is a measure of your role model capability or your trustworthiness of being a better character and judgement.

it is now official.
Since the country is broke we should try something different for a change.

They say, the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result each time.

Plus all the money stolen here and there, and since we can not trust our National Assemblies to Enact laws that are selfless, then we should think outside the box.

go into special agreement to outsource our National Assemblies.

Since they cannot be trusted to enact laws or economic policies and plan to favour the electorates.

Look for German House or a good European Country-Finland is a good one, outsource the duties of law and policy formation plus Budgeting for a yearly payment( surprising less than one tenth what these bastards earn) for them to enact laws and policies for the country after feeding it with our needs and peculiarity.

Discuss, with America and develop a currency whose value is tied to the dollar. So all this scavenging for dollar and speculative buying and selling will stop.

hey young man keep quiet animal!! Who said he shouldn't beat his daughter? Allow this to be taped and uploaded online could damage this girl for life. Quit being an ass anu mpama!
The measure can work in both ways.

Make the girl either emotionally detached, rebellious and withdrawn socially or serve as a reminder of what disgrace pre-marital sex offers and hence abstain from it in every form until married.

She may even look bad now, but when she has a daughter of her own, may bless the dad for what he did to straighten her up.

The call to fatherhood is not a populist job, or a call to friendship with the kid. He is a parent, a custodian of a future message( the girl).

and how good or bad this message is depends on the quality of training and discipline

Ibraheem May God grant you justice here on earth and in Heaven.
Whatever we can do to help this Nigerian save his dad, we need to help.

Being Shiite Muslim is not a crime, it is a conviction and belief that does not carry death sentence.

The appropriate response for slapping a major general is not the brutality exhibited nor the trolls of death that followed in its wake but a professional crowd dispersal technique or even stopping to allow them pass.

This will not make him miss Ja'nnah or reduce him to a lance corporal either but put him in a class of democratic major general that knows he derives his authority from the people and the people is what matters.

mrkayusfit:
Why is the federal government slowing down their bombardment of this touts? By now the Tanks, warships and bomber jets should have been deployed in full force to the entire Niger delta cos it seems the Indigenes are sympathetic to the scAvengers. Bombing of our oil facilities alone is a treasonable act that must be considered an act of war against Nigeria and here they are threatening to declare Niger Delta Republic. Many states cannot pay salaries and people are dying of hunger because of the actions of these few vagabonds crippling our God given oil wealth. The federal government should not negotiate with them but instead warn innocent people who cares to listen to vacate the region so full military might can be deployed to wipe out the terrorists with brutal force. Anyone caught in the inferno will have themselves to blame cos this nonsense has to stop.

The oil is our collective wealth and no group of people can hold us to ransom. We once fed the whole country with cocoa and groundnut pyramid money and no youth from those regions formed militancy. I can smell the hands of the Biafrans in these renewed militancy and they think this approach will blackmail the FG into releasing Nnamdi kanu or restoring the dead and buried biafra of 1970. We will resist any attempt by any groups to break away and we shall never support any form of referendum. A word is enough for the wise. Do anyhow, see anyhow angry

I like your angst, but it is wrongly premised.
Firstly, nobody i repeat once fed Nigeria.
Not groundnut, Not Palm Oil, not Cocoa, rubber or Agric produce as the North wants us to believe.

I like you to know this, that the people have every right to do what they do, and if it annoys the FG they should go and bomb the SS, annihilate the good people of the SS.

There is always a cause and effect.
If they had not left the area in such terrible state, the people will not take up arms.

A little thought for you.
Your land in the SouthWest, you can still sink a borehole and get clean water. In the SS you can't, as water tables are severely contaminated with heavy metals.
You can still farm on it, and produce something out of it. The SS cannot as the land will require approximately 50 years before a biological life can survive in it due to the level of degradation/pollution helped by selfish FG who let them off the hook every time they spill the produced crude oil to the environment and do a poor or next to nothing clean up.

Your Children don't die of skin cancer and other cancers due to the carcinogenic materials in the crude and in the chemicals used in crude oil production.
You don't worry about the increased heat of nearly 10 degrees C everyday, that keeps you and your kids up all night. And you cannot explain the breathing disorder that follows the birth of kids since 1951.

You don't need to worry about environmental degradation that kills all aqua life, meaning the fishermen will have to travel up to 50 to 60 nautical miles to get anything worth eating.

My dear time will fail me to explain to you, why gas flaring that has been stopped in most countries cannot be stopped in Nigeria, and yet the evidence are overwhelming of the damning health hazards it posed to the health of the people in the SS and the enormous financial lose to the country due to continued flaring.
My dear, the death due to heat stroke, heat rash, skin cancer, uncongenial/ congenial breathing disorder, organ failure.
Loss in fertility and to mention but a few.

If you think about life slowing ebbing from you, and the man who is doing the killing is telling you to have patience endlessly or bluntly telling you like GMB that you are 5% against his 95% and you are inconsequential, then you will rather be king in hell than be a servant in Nigerian heaven.
