Sincere 9gerian: Atleast I'm doing a better job than the likes of Sahara Reporters. Atleast my news reports are balanced and truthfulYes, yes yours are indeed... only problem is that, it's well known that like her counterpart responsible for electrifying the whole nation, she'll probably come in 16 months and deny ever making any promises. |
Bro, I think the two should work together. For example, a man from Esa-Oke can definitely claim PH in his "State of Residence" , but he must fill in his "State of Origin". Thats enough. Sebi he wants to be called a Rivers man? Ehn. He is free to be called Rivers man but he should ensure he fills in the space below: ..... ..... ..... (Paternal) State of Origin: Oyo. ...... ....... ....... So far he doesnt lie and has been living in PH from childhood, and since his name is Akinfowonleti, Olagbawonloju, etc & definitely original documents back his claims, then na Rivers man be that oooo. All thats needed is true information of his homeland, NO MORE, NO LESS. !!
The two should not, and cannot work together. Including State of origin on documents or forms only ensures that one could be prone to discrimination based on his or her tribe. There are other ways to ensure that Nigerians do not lose their distinct tribal identity than making them outcasts in their own homes. |
PLS , no such thing like "Place of Birth". So if my Dad or Mum was not British, but maybe through coincidence I was born on the soils of Britain, so that makes me British when even none of those who gave birth to my arent British? Lets stop the child's brainer. There aint nothing like "Place of Birth" as a reqiisite for citenzenship. NO WHERE THAT'S DONE IN THIS WORLD. !!
my dear friend, you have no idea what you're talking about. Your place if birth is actually the most important determinant of citizenship. |
Idoma Likita: Knowing what I know now, I have no qualms against the Pipeline Protection Deal, However Govt should have established a New Branch of the Armed Forces (eg the Republican Guard of Iran, National Guard & Coast guard of the US, etc) then draft in the Ex-militants and other Land-based Militants thus Legitimizing their Role!Maybe in your part of the world the "Armed Forces are Groups of Thugs whose sole aim is to protect an existing Regime", not in mine. Our Armed Forces is one of the most prestigious institutions in our land. Giving criminals military uniforms and legitimizing them still doesnt stop them from being a security risk to the safety of the Nation. There are personnel trained to protect the water ways of the country. These personnel can be found in the Armed Forces. These are the people that should be protecting your country in every sphere. |
shymexx: It seems comprehension is your biggest problem, or perhaps, you have never worked in a proper company before. Retirement leave before retirement is normal practice in every organisation - however, the length varies. For Sanusi to go publicly on Bloomberg, March 2013, to announce that he would be doing a single term and that his successor should be announced 2-3 months before that, shows he had plans to take retirement leave before his final retirement. However, he's adamant about staying-put till his retirement date, because GEJ's allegedly trying to force him out (even before his retirement leave) - just to prove a point that he can't be forced out.You do realize that the clown youre trying to debate is a bonafide bum, right? |
0lumide: Nigeria is a land of natives. Not a nation built on immigration like US, Canada, Australia. State of residence mean minorities (population aspect only as I believe every tribe in Nigeria should be majority) will lose their identities. Take Rivers for example, people from Abia and surrounding states can troop in and reside there when it is a state made of more than 4 tribes. Agent MS: The countries that recognize state of residence are migrant countries. Basically, USA, Canada and Australia.Wow what backwards ways of thinking. State of Origin is one of those aspects of Nigeria that just shows you how 3rd Century Nigerian leaders and its people are. Why force someone, for example, whose ancestry is from the Eastern Region of Nigeria, but whose Grandparents, parents and himself were born, raised and lived their entire lives in Northern Nigeria--- and are more Northern Nigerian than Eastern--- to owe more "Allegiance" to where his ancestors are from instead of his birth place and immediate community through the "State of Origin" clause? Allegiance and Loyalty to a place/area is the foundation to its development. State of Residence does not mean "Minorities" will lose their identity. State of Residence simply means where you reside at the moment after satisfying certain requirements i.e Period of stay in a particular area. What Nigeria should adopt is "Place of Birth", this doesnt mean you will lose your tribal identity. A man of Nigerian descent could come from Nebraska, while another man of Nigerian descent could come from New Orleans or New Hamsphire, thats how you build a nation and encourage unity, oneness and togetherness. |
Kwankwaso got it all wrong by basing his criticism of the GEJ administration on his inability to allocate more funds to the North. Personally, it would ve made more sense for him to challenge the present system of Government we are practising which has made it impossible for state to fully utilise their human and natural resources. The North are blessed with enormous natural and Human resource(Nasarawa state alone has almost 179 Natural mineral Resources), and the like of Kwankwaso should clamour for true federalism which would give them the opportunity to reach their full potential socio-economically . A Northerner being the president of Nigeria would not in anyway mitigate the High level of poverty and illiterary(lack of western education) in the North, rather true democracy would give them the leeway to develop economically, which would translate to an overall transformation of the region. To cap it all, GEJ is not the reason for the under development in the North and other parts of the country, the system( which is akin to a military govt) should be held responsible. True federalism would bring Government closer to the people, and would in turn would make the seat of presidency in Aso Rock less enticing, and also it would propel people to understand the rudiments of Govt and as well to hold their leader accountable for any misgivings.
In what country do you expect this obviously wonderful advice to be implemented? I hope youre not thinking Nigeria. |
iheneme: Recall that Sanusi was in a hurry to allege that $49.8b was unaccounted for, and alot of people called for the head of GEJ. After reconciliation the figure has dropped to about $12b, yet Sanusi didn't deem it fit to apologise to Nigerians for misinforming us in the first place or resigning. I won't be surprised at the result of further reconciliation. So, $12Billion is now equivalent to 12 cents thats very minuscule so Sanusi should be the one apologizing for your President encouraging flagrant corruption? Wow. |
winniz: At Mynd 44If he does this to a man that was doing his country a great service, what is he expected to do to corrupt traitors like Diezani and Stealer Forger Oduah? |
winniz: GEJ should just remove the Aboki forcefully if he remains defiant or declare his position vacant, GEJ is just too quiet to be a President that is the reason everyone insults him and gets away with it, during OBJ regime he was terrorising everyone with EFCC.No, hes not "Too Quiet"--- I despise when people characterize his criminal ways as humility. GEJ is a crook and I'll tell you why. $49.98 Billion is not missing, right? So, what is missing? $10.82Billion? $12.95Billion? What? DUDE,BILLIONS...OF DOLLARS!!!! Lmao You guys are finished in that country. In other countries, heads wouldve rolled ASAP not the President hounding the whistle blower that was doing his Fatherland a huge favor by exposing the rot and corruption. Tell me, what did your President do when Nuhu Ribadu exposed corruption in the NNPC? Tell me again what you meant by "Too Quiet"? |
owobokiri: It is also about time Nigeria starts changing some Head of States in Africa especially the french puns in Cameroun and Chad and CAR them. There is no reason whatsoever to allow Biya in power tormenting Nigeria endlessly for over 3 decades when a colonel could be recruited to put camerounians out of their misery. Nigeria is supposed to be in control of these flanks with friendly cheif executives since the french always use them as launching pads to influence policies here as was shown at Bakassi. We even have one village head at Equetorial Guinea deporting Nigerians whenever he gets upset. That is a fairlure of Nigerias foeign policy. Nigeria is growing in size and influence, it is time to biuld a buffer against more powerfull countries with vaulting imperialist ambitions.Ummm... yeah.... Your country's waterways is being "defended" by rebels, thugs, and so-called freedom fighters on the orders of Your current President. They are even paid billions of dollars for this security breach. Vote GEJ till 2099 and beyond. |
Vote GEJ again so that all your rights can keep getting violated... Corruption is not Nigeria's biggest problem, right? |
Idoma Likita: GEJ, As a Zoologist, You know better than a lot of us regarding Nature Conservation, Depletion of Natural Fishing Stocks, etc!Lmaooooooo you're funny. You want a man, a product of Nigeria's educational system, from the back waters of Nigeria...a corrupt man at that.... to do what again on behalf of trees and animals? Hahaha A man that fled from debating in the Presidential elections but instead opted for A sit down with DBANJ is whom u expect to know about Green Technology? Listen friend, GEJ is doing what he knows as "Governance " and that is stash as much of the country's money as possible in private accounts belonging to himself and his cronies and leave everywhere underdeveloped. How soon yall forgotten GEJ was very willing to give N4Billion of the nation's money to his wife to build a project for other country's First Ladies while ordinary and poor Nigerians wallowed in homelessness and poverty? Or the N16Billion for his V.Ps residence? Or the Billions earmarked for the Abuja city gates? Anyway, all I'm saying is, Nigeria needs a man in charge that has a 'worldly' view... Sorry that man is not your current President. He's too backwards. |
So basically its: "Hey, Tambuwal, leave the looting in the center to us. Meanwhile, here's a Northern State you can loot dry if you wish..." Let's await Tambuwal's response. |
django1: How many actual Britons are prisoners in Nigeria? I'm not talking about those nigerians with red passports, but Caucasians? How many of them loot their country's funds and go invest it in Nigeria? |
koonbey: Nigeria's biggest Problem is Tribalism, then Corruption;all other Things flow from it. If our Leaders could get their hands out of the National Cake and take them "on Deck to work towards steering this Country well,we would be in a very different Position in a very short while. You contradicted yourself. The bolded means Nigeria's biggest problem is corruption. Your words. |
. |
Ijayzbrainz: I'll keep saying this to everybody that no APC candidate will do better than GEJ.Mark ma words.U ever been outside your village? |
patriotic007: APC always has a habit of winning elections on the internet and social media,....Later you hear them say,....'INEC has failed Nigerians',....'2015 election was a disgrace to democracy',...'Jega should resign',.....In the last 7days there has been up to 10 different grassroot mobilisation and endorsement around the country mobilising for GEJ and they are here winning elections on the internet with their brainless shephard FFK,.....The only reason why APC will perform better than 2011 is the new PDP that has joined them because this are the guys that really know how politics is played not these over pampared kid(FFK)playing on the internet,...SMHHave you ever had a free and fair election in your country? |
luvinhubby: That`s the silly nature of our `so called` progressive opposition.Chris Christie of New York, right? New York where, Bayelsa? Stick to what you know, please. |
eeewise: this ur comment jst shows ur illitracy doesn't have part 2Look at the bolded. Do no throw stones in glass houses. |
Sincere 9gerian: Tinubu clown! Shagari has retired from partisan politics but the coupist, Buhari, is still parading himself as a political leader in APC. More over, the body of the article contains all the details. What do you want him to do when crooks, criminals and looters like yourself are still running around? |
Did Fashola say GEJ? He did FG which consists of all past leaders, PDP presidents and military leaders. Government is continuous
Don't tell him that. If it's not tribe or religion a lot of Nigerians can't "see". |
Sincere 9gerian: ^ I didn't say so. It is definitely a project of the Lagos State govt. But as you can see from the history of the project, a mischievous president can stall or frustrate the project.Thats why GEJ blessed them with 1822 Locomotives, right? |
deols: kwankwaso is my first choice from the listBased on what? |
vivalavida: The truth is that Stella Oduah did wrong and deserves to be punished.Rather,Nigerians of other ethnic descents especially the south-westerners are intent on ridiculing her. The igbo's know their daughter didnt do right but still we wont sit with our arms folded and watch u ridicule and ride rough-shod over our daughter. What sense does this make? |
rudedough: Thank you for your honesty but i don't think that is the problem of Stella Oduah. The sarcasm obviously flew way over your head. Smh why am I not surprised? |
rudedough: [b]Yes, because my whole life has been in a country that in the 21st century can't boast of clean water in every home, good roads, or 24hr electricity. By hook or crook, we will help you change your country and stop people like you from further destroying it. |
israel007: Inasmuchas I'm pained by GEJ's actions, I don't see myself thumb printing to vote the likes of Tinubu and Buhari. I'd rather endure the pain than have those guys at the helm of affairs.Cut your nose to spite your face. Very smart. |
Ngwakwe: Make no mistake, Maj, Gen M. Buhari (retired) favours implementation of Sharia law, any day, anything and his body language has always encouraged Muslims to vote for Muslims for political expediency. -though debatable.we heard these same lies a billion times previously. |
solomon111: I can tell you that the illiterate buhari has none of those qualities.China can buy Nigeria 100Trillion times and over with another $800gazillion to spare. Let a Govt official in China be found guilty of embezzlement and tell me what the repercussion will be. |
There is one reason this lady is still a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria - STANDARDS. This administration has zero standards. I had hoped that after 15 years (1999-2014), our democracy would have started taking baby steps, at least. Jonathan does not have any ethical standards. Don't blame just him . Obasanjo never did. Yar'Adua didn't either. We are all sitting in a huge, moving, stinky bus being driven by successive incompetent and unlicenced drivers. We don't know where we are being driven. Our luggages are being stolen by conductors as we stop and go along this road with no signs and no mile markers. To make the matters worst, there are no illegal police checkpoints, and this is supposed to be Nigeria. Something is wrong with this journey.
The only thing wrong is that GEJ is not worldly exposed that's why he thinks a locomotive, the type which was used by the u.s in the late 1800s, is something which he deserves praise for and continuously cites as an accomplishment. |
