Lol, universities are enrolled in gifmis. Its the predecessor to ippis.

FG, should find out the actual personnel cost of each University Academic Staff and deduct it before giving the various universities their monthly salary allocations.

They don't give monthly salary allocation. Salaries are paid directly to staff from central bank. However, the universities still prepare the salaries and advice Abuja on what to pay on a month by month basis.

I am never a Buhari fan but seeing the roads from the one near me at Afor-Enyiogugu road to the airport road done here in my area in the SE. Below is my response when I first read about his comments.


As succinctly posited by Daddy freeze, at the end of it all everyone chose the industry he/she deemed fit and believes he can thrive in.

I challenge Daddy Freeze to pick one similar to one of the examples he reeled out and build it up to what these pastors achieve in their own enterprise.

Below are my submissions on a similar thread and similar comment.

Caveat: I am in no way holding brief for these mega rich pastors or their lifestyles, I only see a lot of positives to pick and apply in their doggedness and belief in their visions.

This is actually amazing and worthy of emulation by all and sundry.

By this, I mean the vision, focus, belief in the said vision and working tirelessly to get people in the thousands to believing and keying into this vision of yours.

We can all say and talk down these men for how we believe they are taking advantage of the ignorant or gullibles, but trust me me mehnnn. It is no stroll in the park to get a single person buying into your vision not to talk of a multitude as these guys command.

I might not be a fan of theirs as regards their penchant for focusing more on material stuffs, but the truth is, their achievements are no mean feat and if we can individually imbibe some of these qualities that help them thrive in their enterprises, we would all be the better for it and Nigeria would have been a pride to us all.

Hello sir...I respectfully and humbly disagree with your submission above for the below reason:

What you see up there is someones dream, vision and possibly his own form of skill acquisition center.

What he did and did right like many of them big time pastors of today, was believing steadfastly and focused on those dreams, visions and working towards them.

Even if it meant driving towards the realisation of these dreams riding on the back of those we might want to term "the ignorant and gullibles" today, brother it takes a lot of hard work to have people listen to your talks, dreams, visions and decide to go it with you.

With the above, if you, I and many more can think up a dream/vision and take it up as our pet project/skill acquisition center, with the same zeal and qualities as those exhibited by these pastors that seemingly help them thrive, we won't be waiting for them to deviate from their visions to come face that which we could only think up and feel is the right one for them to pursue I.e the skill acquisition center you mentioned above.

Think about this bro, my humble and unbiased submission.

You and dream/vision no get part 2.

Hope they pay tax for this business they are doing.

If you truly own a British Passport, you do not need a visa to US if your visit is less than 90 days. I have been to Britain numerous times and I never applied for a visa because i carry an American Passport.

Most of these people giving stories are being economical with the truth. Many show bank statements that have been suspiciously 'beefed up' a week to the interview. Some provide canned answers that clearly indicate coaching from professional visa agents. Just take a look at the suspiciously high number of people In the article that are going for a six week flight program. That just seems fishy, and you can bet the Visa officer has probably seen 500 Nigerians in the past month claim that they're interested in flying.

Then there's the lady that flew from lagos to Abuja to apply. Even with her admission date looming, she waited weeks for the Abuja visa office to open. That just signals that she's deliberately targeting a visa officer that she hasn't seen before.

That's not to say the US embassy don't have their own issues. The whole process is subjective and can be really unfair...especially when you're rejected with no explanation. But all the times I've been to the US embassy for visa application, some of the answers I've overheard from Nigerian applicants have been pretty bizarre and nonsensical.

Getting US Non immigrant visa is straight and easy. You have to show that you have strong ties in your home country, else you appear as an intending immigrant. Those consular officers don't hate you, they score you with your forms before you get there to actually know your intention.

If your intention is clear as a non immigrant, they will ask few questions and ask you to pick your passport and visa from your chosen drop off centre.

If your intentions are not clear enough, then get ready for series of tricky questions which might take 20-50 mins. If he's convinced, your visa is sure.

If your intentions are obvious, they will just ask you perhaps two to three questions usually less than 4 mins.



Admission letter from a university in the USA is not a guarantee that your visa is certain.
Its not based on what you were asked on the interview that gives you the visa, you have been scored before getting there.

The International School Ibadan (ISI) and the Hijab Ban.

ISI is a secondary school under the control of the management of University of Ibadan. The school has been in the news in the last few days for its refusal to allow willing female Muslim students use Hijab on their uniform. The situation has degenerated to the extent that the Muslim students were shut out of the school among other unwarranted actions of the school as represented by the Principal, one Mrs Phebean Olowe.

I have read and listened to different opinions on the development and I am not sorry for the positions I take on the matter. Before I conclude with my positions however, I have a few questions for the Principal in question as well as anyone with position same as or similar to that of the school management:

1. Does the wearing of Hijab by the willing female Muslim students portend any danger/evil for their colleagues (who don't), the school or anyone for that matter?

2. Is it against the law of the land for the students of such a 'public' school to wear Hijab?

3. Does their observance of that aspect of their constitutional rights rub or deny anyone of his?

If the genuine answers to the above questions are NO, then I am of the opinion that the assertion that the school's reactions are borne out of hatred for Islam and the Muslims must be very true and this has to stop and stop NOW.

And for those who might be asking, does their not wearing Hijab portend any danger? Yes, it does and contrary to the opinions of those that know not, not wearing Hijab makes female muslims less Muslims because it's not a flexible commandment. If your wish is really not to make them non-Muslims, let them use what makes them the Muslims that they are.

I call on all the concerned stakeholders and well meaning people of the society to intervene in good time to allow our female Muslim students join their colleagues without any further victimization, molestation, discrimination or disdainful treatment of any kind.

Things are more expensive in America than Nigeria. Especially for women, getting your hair done, makeup, clothes are FAR more expensive in America for something of equal value in Nigeria. In Nigeria, you will pay the equivalent of $40 to do Senegalese twists and that is even with you giving extra tip to the excellent hair stylist! DO you know the same style, and not even half as good would cost upward of $250-$300 in America? Let's not even get on the costs of fabric. There are so many skilled tailors to make custom clothing in Nigeria way better than what is obtainable in America, but you pay more in U.S.
