The car dealer was greedy. I have mentioned that already. No one who knows what he's doing will collect a fixed sum of money to buy an auction car and offer guarantees.

He was hoping to get the vehicle cheap and make a lot of money. Unfortunately for him and as is often the case with cars on auction, the actual state of the car is usually different from the pictures you see when you bid.

That is why you have the torn seats, blown transmission and damaged windscreen.

You also cannot blame him for the stolen catalytic converter. Sometimes they steal them from the US before the vehicle gets exported. What do you want him to do?

His major blame is giving the OP the impression that he will deliver a car in a perfect condition for him.

There is no case of fraud here.

This is a foolish position.

A deal is not a deal with pre order cars because the time frame is long and anything can happen. Customs can wake up overnight and increase duty which was the case here. Shipping companies can increase shipping fees, even auction yards can increase their fees. What do you expect the dealer to do? Pay with his money?

I also imported a vehicle, the catalyst was stolen, I paid more than my budget on the clearing and I'm not holding anybody to ransom because I understand how these things work, I am objective and rational.

Also, those superficial damages are not unusual with Toks vehicles and are not what makes a car tokunbo. For the most part, It's the engine that has not been abused, the transmission, the OEM suspension parts that are crazily expensive e.t.c

The only reason I'm blaming the dealer here is not explaining how pre order works to his client and giving him unreasonable assurances out of greed.

Beyond that, it's difficult to fault him for any other thing.

Learn to look at things objectively or keep quiet if you don't know much about the subject at hand.

Nigerians generally do not read and the few who can, read what they want to see not what is actually written.

You saw one guy post plainsite and the summaries including tax evasion were listed there. Nothing about drug trafficking, nothing about even being guilty of money laundering. Everything I analyzed here was on point like a decimal. Yet, you still see people here say "nobody has been able to challenge David...he brought hard evidence".

I don't like Tinubu and to be honest with you, I read Hundeyins "expose" with a biased mind. I kept looking for hard irrefutable evidence to nail him but I just couldn't see it. The guy kept blowing hot air and using plenty adjectives but when it was time to put the evidence, it just was not there.

I watch a lot of crime shows. Infact, channel 171(Investigation discovery) is my favourite channel on DSTV and I have never seen where law enforcement agents ever allowed a drug baron go with a slap on the wrist no matter the level of cooperation. Reduced sentence maybe but never just forfeiture of funds.

I'm still hopeful that someone in the future will bring hard irrefutable evidence against Tinubu grin

Let me give you a recent example. Currently in the market, a tokunbo 2006 Mercedes C200 sells for about 2.9m-3M but we shipped one in ourselves and total landing cost rounded up to 2M(this was about 2-3weeks ago) if that car comes in through another dealer, he’ll hike up the price to about 3M. That’s a whooping 1M in profit that he is looking for. Tell me that isn’t greed. 1 million naira on 1 car. Come on man.

I know you are lying and you know it too. That 2m alone is what you'll use to clear the vehicle if it was actually 2 weeks ago.

Congrats but I just wish you listened and bought the matrix.

Same engine, same transmission, same suspension, 99% of the parts are the same. Same cost of maintenance, fuel economy is more or less the same and you would have saved between 300-500k in cost price.
