Lets stop beating about the bush on this NYSC thing, its either we modernize it to deal with our time or it should be thrown to the bin. What I think a real orientation camp program should involve at least not limited to these 1. Entrepreneurs, Industrialists and multinational companies should be mandated by law to participate more in the NYSC process right from the camp not just through lectures but actually involving corpers in projects and research work being handled by these companies in all fields like construction, medicare, agriculture, education, media houses, sales, Nollywood etc. 2. Employers should go through a simple registration process and satisfy a certain minimum criteria among welfare and financial support for the corps member. The employers should be encouraged to visit or connect with camps through labor or skill fair organised by the NYSC body. 3. NYSC camps should have project stations to encourage corpers develop ideas towards being better professionals and leaders and more emphasis should be given to real programs that involves merit awards at the end of the service year. |

Tanna:What you do is to think of a better story next time. You are not even married, No experience. You didn't scream or jump out of bed, certainly he would have to consider the implications of raping you. LIES- FIXED!!! |
NwaObinkita:Calm down, e no die. |
The NPF needs to take the recent reports against SARS operatives seriously. I think first of all the police need to be civil in their approach to matters that involve the public and always try to maintain calm, they will certainly get the support of peaceful law abiding citizens in their query or inquiry. It is wrong to attack a police office who is armed, he has no option but to fire shots. |

Mophasa:Ok let me explain, the scheme only makes them realize the truth more than ever. First of all the scheme exposes corpers to the truth about how disorganized things are in the country so they will not imagine that the school authorities were only acting dumb with facilities on campus. Secondly it should stir up their reasoning on what the solution can be to put things right and their own contributions if any. I was particularly disappointed when I arrived camp many years ago to find out that there were a lot of infrastructural lapses and maintenance issues which appeared to me like it could be handled as projects on camp involving corps members to improve on the welfare state of the camp. With a little funds, a good idea and mobilization corpers could work with experienced contractors on projects designed to improve the first facility that graduates are welcomed into. To me NYSC camps would be a place where model ideas are tapped and corpers can show some of what they are good at. |
martinlooter:Its only our leaders who can show humility and do some of those things themselves. Afterall walking round a pleasure park I built and will be commissioning in a few hours and not yet open to the public as the governor i wouldn't need all those policemen walking beside me. I would want to go around myself. However my staff would insist to help me with an umbrella when its raining and I am walking to the car, I most times prefer to just dash in the rain and jump in the car. |
What is the pleasure park for? |
8 people+him = 9. No problem |
Too costly. Besides that, if you install it in Nigeria you will need to pay about 3 Mopol every night to guard it. You will need to add one generator with operating costs or a suitable solar panel, inverter and batteries. |
The vehicle doesn't look so badly damaged. A number of factors possibly; speed, poor visibility, driver fatigue and/ or alcohol, no seat belts. |
Imstrong:You said it all. Most of our daily actions have hazard levels that needs to be managed constantly and carefully as we carry out our activity. Therefore some things should not be performed by very ignorant people, risking the lives of many others. Unfortunately in Nigeria transportation and petrol hawking are carried out by very ignorant people. Similar incident occurred in PH once when two bikes collided into an explosion because one was carrying petrol. |
Fill up the blank space. 1. If them see robbers now................................... |
What is the brick house for? |
Thief be like "see tyre for there nau" |
Possible electrocution while climbing or ladder will disappear. |
We didn't hear anyone on trial for the first one. |
obidevine:Only illiterates would imagine that she could get away with it. Even though it was the man's mistake. |
Kobicove:It's dishonesty that has made us a country with a currency lesser in value than Ghana. No just honesty, but if Nigerians glorify right against wrong or evil, the country will be a better place. many people are ready to go into conspiracy just to take what is not theirs, especially youths of today. |
Just how did we get to this in Nigeria? Is there no one, no authority ordained by God to fix our problem? I know the solution to our country's problem and most of us do because we know the problem, but who will fix it. I cannot fix the problem because I am simply not in charge of the resources to do it. When things are wrong in the land, people rise up to action. What else do we want to see? Who are the people in charge? Any government that jokes with missing 280 children will fail in protecting 100 million citizens. |
kahal29:Is he not another boy boy like Johna? |
ehh! they are not going for lectures nau, they have all the time now. No jobs either. This scene is not unusual in our country. They probably did it many times in school or at home. They are Nigerian Youth Suffering for the Country. NYSC (Nigerian Youth's Suffering Continues) |
Rivers State, take an example from Anambra. |
tutudesz:When the problem is not dealt with my the state and local communities, this is the result. If we say we don't support Illegal bunkering, then it should not be allowed to operate in our back yards. |
Youths and citizens. In a country where there is no hope for a better tomorrow, no money, no life, no homes, no jobs, no education, no welfare. A few are living well through their own very hard work and a very few are living large through dirty politics, sharp practices and crime. How can we save our youth? Through a real re-orientation, to correct the effects of the psychological trauma caused by several socio-political, socio-mental, socio-ethnical events and believes. If this is not done now what kind of society will we all live in tomorrow? |
alizma:Well, the evidence that his phone was stolen is very unlikely to be posted here. Besides if you read the facebook chat again, there was a sharp deviation from a regular chat to a Nigerian street man's abuse and calling the lady "Aunty", why would the man call her that? the sudden abuses that followed were just the actions of a looser or someone who probably wanted to robb the lady too. If you change the sim in your phone and get back your data connection, your facebook will still work if you logged in with your email address not the mobile number, like me. I just feel the man could have improved on his security more. This is a lesson for us all. Like it or not facebook is used by a lot of inexperienced online users who do not know how much of their information is exposed to many. Web security is very important today. |
Is there anything that isn't a lie in Nigeria? The state of the nation has turned us to unbelievers. |
post=56753972:How long does it take people to be aware? this sort of thing should not be killing people anymore nau, the tragedy news spreads like wild fire everywhere when ever it happens, abi people de find death? Also do not fuel your generator when its running. HABBA! RIP go finish for nairaland o! |
