State of the nation. |
ccollins:Gbammm! |
People who see Nigerian government as something they should never let go. After all the years spent in government, things are more backwards, what does he have to show as a mark of his service to all Nigerians? Still struggling to be there. |
Arabs999:Bro for this Naija dat one don go. Na people wey him give money to hold kill am. |
loomer:U de talk of 7? Thousands die, no morning, no minute of silence for the state house or senate. Shows our politicians still mind only themselves and don't love the people. |
A lesson for our political parties to always confirm fitness of candidates. The governorship job is tedious and cannot be staked on ill health or death. In recent years we have seen the death of a president, this should not be the trend though it can happen to anyone. There are lots of young ambitious, well meaning Nigerians who could have flown the APC flag all the way. RIP to the dead. |
What do we do then with our politicians who have stabbed us on the head, stabbed our children in their hearts. Taken our future and progress, quality of life and they run away to other countries to relax. Who will help us catch them? Who will give them the beating of their life? Who will bring justice to Nigeria for the complete derail of the future of her citizens. |
Who is operating the illegal refineries? What are their methods, practices, source of crude, skills etc? Are they positioned to actually provide jobs for Nigerians or will their products will go straight from refineries to black market. What we could do is to allow private sector involvement in the refining business and ensure proper regulation so results can be controlled. Legalizing what is currently referred to as illegal refineries, which I imagine would be a set of hazardous and substandard setups may not be advisable. |
OK. Nice one. #bringbackoursoldiers# worked in 24hrs. What is happening to #bringbackourgirls#? Or did the 105 soldiers simply take to hiding in the wave of the attack? |
In Nigeria no one understand clearly what is going on. In an ideal situation where the police understand what's going on, you treat an officer this way, the whole area will be full of police men, the actual suspects identified, arrested and charged. This is when things will start to look good. In the coming days, many will be more brutalized, more injuries, casualties but no one will be charged. So in Nigeria everyone learns to lay low even the police, because if you die you don go. |
jpphilips:That officer was from the bomb squad of the force. |
Bigmillz:It's a trap! I smell a rat. |
To me the IG shouldn't be talking figures like this. 90,000 men is such such a huge number and I doubt it. Funny thing is, this is the first time I am really hearing the police give such a huge figure for fatalities, they always downplay the numbers. Perhaps there is some compensations expected from a high fatality number in the force. How many officers are there in one state in the first place? At a loss of 1000 officers, the police would have a big deal at hand, talk less x 90. Someone needs to vet this claims thoroughly by names. |
I think it is real to blame society for all these able derailed young men. Nigerians who could have been better people if there were opportunities within our society for them to get an education or a job. There is a huge number of young males who will go this same way in the near future if a deep reorientation of our youth and society is not put in place. All the corrupt practices our youths hear about daily, and also seeing theirs, who are making a living through thuggery, militancy and other organised crime only encourages the idle mind to feel that is all they can get. These young men could have contributed to the immediate community they leave in, if only their energy was better guided. For the males, it's crime like these that gives them that sense of survival amongst their peers in the midst of nothing. They cannot sell their bodies like their female counterparts who are out there on the streets robbing their own selves of their future. |
Armed robbers are not our friends, But the police are. I wonder if the man in the truck is the suspect handed over to police. Perhaps someday there would be some better humane way of picking up criminals killed in a gun fight. Just for sake of humanity. |
easydone:Well, if he has to make sacrifices like denying himself the comfort he can afford as an example, fine. But I think he can afford the charter helicopter as Ben Bruce perhaps not as a senator's travel allowance. But Luxury, flamboyant, majestic lifestyles and mode of travel with dozens of people should not be our politicians style and ways of telling us they have arrived. |
Blueeyedboi:Simple!!! If a child is arrogant and protests, when we can all see he has everything, we will call the child stupid and senseless. But when a child protests because his father has everything but he is not getting anything and we can also see that, we will call the father to order. If you live in a glass house, don't throw stones. To show anger and discontent is not a crime but violence is. The Nigerian youth of today, have realized that the people in power, our leaders, our fathers had no plans for the future of the youth in the midst of plenty. If they say, "No, youths you are wrong" the question will then be "...where is the plan?" How can our leaders today lie down then at night to sleep? In every state in Nigeria there are people who had the opportunity to better the lives of the Nigerian youth but they did not. They are also be the same people that want to use the same jobless youth against their own enemies. Its possible that at the end, or eventually they will turn around and negotiate with their enemy and simply say to the youth, "..you can go home now, there is no more problem" Our youth must understand that their destiny is indeed in God's hands as well as in their hands. The youth must fight a sensible fight for our future and that of our children. Avoid to fight with weapons of war. |
DONSMITH123:The police should monitor the social media for latest reports, instead of looking for who to hold responsible for a robbery report. Social media is how we all know how bad the security situation is today, meanwhile the police have been there all along. |
Nigerian youths have been cheated in this generation. Our fathers have left nothing for youths to grow in this Nigeria. Yes we must fight for our rights and for a better Nigeria for generations to come. Fight corruption. Fight injustice. Fight oppression. Fight under development. Fight poverty without choice. But lets not turn our homeland to a war zone. Our fight should give us our land and our lives so we can live and build on. No one who has been part of the Nigerian sad story should put guns in your hands and watch the same youths extinct. |
How exactly do we fight corruption in a country where over 80% of public and private sector officers are guilty of corrupt practices? |
coolbreeze44:Check the year that photo was taken and maybe that benz was that year model. |
Come back to Nigeria and become a popular politician even Governor or senator in a few years. |
lordmayor4:Artificial hair, artificial height, artificial smiles, artificial............ |
What if Amaechi was still in PDP and PDP was in power, would his appointment be an approval of corruption? |
KEEP CALM. THESE PLANES ARE BUILT TO FLY THEMSELVES. PILOTS ARE LIKE FLIGHT SUPERVISORS. |
You need an aircraft, from helicopter to larger prop aircraft equipped with all you need for surveillance and boarder patrol. How low can the Learjet luxury mini plane fly in the first place? There are also several jet engined helicopters suitable for this purpose they fly faster, make easy maneuvers and can land anywhere. Besides the comptroller is not the one to perform boarder patrols in traditional attire.

Stealing is not corruption Na only you waka come Mobile phone iis not for the poor Fuel is still cheaper than a bottle of beer I am for everyone |
I am just wondering, though I am not a heavy reader but I have known some popular quotes through time and wondering if in our time we have some new quotes that will live into the future for generations to come. Some popular oldies I know 1. One good turn deserves another. 2. A stitch in time saves nine. 3. Make hay while the sun shines 4. Those who live in a glass house don't throw stones. 5. The words of our elders are words of wisdom. Please if you know any quotes coming from recent times, lets share. |
check my missed calls. |
From here to GPS guided missiles. Have they tested the rockets yet? |
orlando5:seeing is believing. |
OrlandoOwoh:May not be a Nigeria airways plane, but 1969, I have little doubt. Check out the long socks worn by all the aviation workers, like footballers. |

? Is it not the same Ben Bruce that reportedly on Nov 9 took a private Helicopter (Aero) when he visited his constituency
