If you have ever been at an accident scene starring at bleeding victims you will know there is no help for the needy this way. Usually sympathizers risk their lives to rescue victims of an accident some even ruin their vehicles to transport injured persons. I am of always of the view that "if you know you cant do anything then don't stop to stare"
I have my own experiences and most of the time could do nothing until more hands arrived.
You can see the victim is still mangled in the vehicle here not helped out and properly examined for heartbeat or pulse by any medics.

What are all the ammo for? These people don't care about the law, and so do many other illiterate and misinformed people around us.

The parents of these kids should be sort out and questioned about the children's exposure and their method of up bringing. These days adults don't care about kids when they are talking adult talk, watching movies etc.
Kids only replicate what they see out of their innocence and curiosity. Rather than filming, the adult who saw them first should have screamed at them, to register in their brain that what they are engaged in is fundamentally wrong, then take action appropriately to correct them. I would have gone round there my self to arrest them.
I would have taken a snapshot anyway, else some parents might argue it never happened, to your shame or to cover their embarrassment.

Someone once told me that in some places in Asia you cannot check-in to a hotel in the same city where you reside. You must have a good reason for that, cos its illegal.

When contracts are awarded, Labour union members are aware. When they are abandoned, Labour union members are aware. Most corrupt practices that drain our economy are seen day by day by the members of our Labour unions. And as a result many suffer from the Negligence or conspiracy of others.
Labour needs to dialogue closely with government as a first step to putting things under control. If government is adamant or insisting on taking the wrong decisions then a strike will make sense. So that when we all buy black market fuel for N600 a liter during the strike we will know the reason why.

In Nigeria the culprits may never be caught. The police will never find them until she is ready to pay for the search and arrest.

Most drivers on our roads are very untrained. You must not stop on a track, or wait on a rail track for any reason. If you have traffic lights after the tracks like in this accident scene, you must stop at a safe distance before the tracks and never advance behind another vehicle when there will not be safe room at your rear from the rail. You must not attempt to drive across the tracks as you hear the horn from an approaching train. These are very direct caution or warning rules for safe driving.
A train is not a bus or truck. A train decelerates very slowly to come to a complete stop.
The train driver is required by Law to blare his horn from a safe distance to any crossing and maintain a safe speed. This is the most he can do. Even if he tries to stop the train, it will come to a halt after all the damage has been done. Thank God no life was lost.

A student of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Jibrin Aliyat was on Monday night stabbed to dead by a bike rider leading to student of the polytechnic yesterday taking to the street, unleashing mayhem on okada rider, burning vehicle and destroying other valuables property.

This has lead to the closure indefinate of the polytechnic.
The school Public Relation Officer, Luke Yakubu who disclosed this on phone to Vanguard said the closure is to avoid further breakdown of law and order.

He also said all students in the hostel are giving till tomorrow (today) to pack out of the school premises.

Further day of resumption will be communicated, he stressed.
Vanguard gathered that the lady, an ND 11 student of in the department of Office and Technology Management (OTM) boarded the bike from the poly gate to her house in Adankola. On getting to the house, the lady offered the usual N100 but the bike man said her fare is now N150 due to the fuel scarcity.

Argument over the remaining N50 turned to a heated discussion where the Okada man snatched the lady handset to use as payment for the remaining N50, “In the process of collecting her handset back, the Okada, a Fulani man, removed a knife from his pocket and stabbed the lady”, an eye witness said.

Continuing, “Seeing that the lady was bleeding, and trying to return the knife to his pocket, he mistakenly stab himself on the thigh and fled away on his bike to the State Specialist hospital; where he was asked to get a police report before he will be attended to.”

Vanguard further gathered that luck ran out of him when he was still begging for treatment at the hospital, as friends and family members also rushed the lady to the same hospital, sighted him and raised alarm where he was subsequently arrested.

The students the second day, Tuesday (yesterday) in protest unleashed terrors on any okada man at sighted in revenge of their colleague who later gave up the ghost at the hospital.

The situation also extended to the nearby international market where every stall of Hausa/Fulani were destroyed.

The students also burnt down and destroyed many vehicles before security personnel requested for by the school management could arrived to quell the situation.

However, the students who could not be easily pacified took on the security personnel, stoned them, while the police also throw in tear gas and shot into the air. Many of the students took the bush path to escaped the scenario, with many of them sustaining injury while they scampered for safety.

When Vanguard visited the school, some of the students were seen inside the school still roaring while the security personnel kept vigil at the gate that was partially closed to forestall any trouble.

President of the Student Union, Idris Abdulrasaq said the situation went out of control when outside forces took advantage of the protest to loot and in turn destroyed many vehicles.

He said the suspected fear that police will at end still release the culprit made them led the protest before it went out of control, but said he has been persuading his colleagues to remain calm so that relevant authority can take up the case.

One of the driver carrying a truck load of cement who gave his name as Alhaji Musa said he stopped to navigate away from some burnt motorbike when the rampaging student pour fuel on his vehicle, chased him and his conductor out and set fire on his truck.

Musa who was driving the truck with registration number; KMC 237 XB (OBJ – 1A- 033) said he was conveying the full load of cement to Kastina and does not know how to explain the situation to the owner.

The Public Relation Officer of the school, Luke Yakubu however said the situation will soon be resolved as the school management are talking with all concerned authority to bring the situation to total control.
