OBAGADAFFI:Because Trump lack the power to suspend Twitter. |
Bad timing. Twitter is owned by an anarcho communists. It should have long been banned or heavily regulated for being the platform of choice for fake news. But banning them after deleting Buhari's tweet is in bad taste. |
Fatalveli:There is no alternative for crime. If every jobless or greedy person go into fraud, you will find it hard operating a bank account or even running a business. Would you rather they start terrorising, robbing and stealing from people in the streets of Lagos?Yes, they should. You cannot solve a problem by destroying the future of a nation. You really have no idea the kind of monsters you are breeding. This country does not have any plans for the youths. Each one of them are products of a failed system. The parents are poor and can’t afford to send them to universities after secondary school.More excuses. Every single criminal in Nigerian prisons could also make the same claim. Why celebrate one class of criminal while ignoring the others if you are not one of them? |
CodeTemplar:Maybe for Nigeria but countries like China or Russia have a tight handle on them. |
tutudesz:This question is as stupid as it sound on the other thread. Both are Nigerians and can go anywhere they want. |
Whiteangel1234:I am yet to see people of Kano troop to the street to celebrate the kidnap or express their gratitude en masse to the "heroic" kidnappers via social media. |
masseratti:You are just as empty as the other emotional agitators. Ask any question to force them to review their stand and they go haywire. This remind me of certain group in 2014, the Sai barbarians! |
effort1:Which youths wants to farm? I spent 7 years helping my dad on the farm when I was younger and we never had problems with Herdsmen despite the fact that they brought their cows to the farm. Herdsmen would only come when we have harvested our crops and eat the crumbs and trash left behind. Those kind herdsmen who only eat leftovers. I bet they also gave you milk as gift too. The love affair must be so strong! Any serious farmer knows that no time is good for cows to be in a farm. If you are incapable of seeing the problem of unsolicited farm invasion regardless of what the cattle do there, then you are even worse than Buhari their patron. I guess you are the one with useless education.Nah, your response has exposed your slow wit. |
plaindealer:Yes, everything is about salary in Nigeria. Governor's who didn't know early saw hell. Lagos is currently the 5th largest economy in Africa, SW economy is the largest in Nigeria and the VAT and the FG currently collects from Lagos and the SW, there's more than enough to pay every worker in the SW with plenty of change left. There is something called system and when you take it apart you have to change all your assumptions. Lagos economy is strongly dependent on Nigeria's and it will decline in case of a breakup. Being on your own is not about what you have in your pocket today, it's about using your ingenuity to advance, progress, and grow your economy to satisfy your socio-economic needs. You need to find out more about the wealth of Nations. Balkanization is not a ticket to Eldorado and most breakup countries enjoy no better than where they start from. |
masseratti:It is always funny when people throw words around. What is human resources? |
effort1:Which of your people? The 50 and 60 year olds in the farm? until Tinubu aided Fulani herdsmen started chasing farmers out of their farms. So, I think you should shut up, Mr Fulani slave. You must be a kid with no education. Herdsmen have been wrecking havoc even before Nigeria gained independence. |
Mydazz:What you don't realize is that the people that are down have nothing to fear but those up. You should be more worried. |
ABIODUNOLAOPA1: ![]() If you think he doesn't have any means of livelihood, then you are joking. The likes of Oluwo are facing inevitable extinction that is very imminent. The funny thing is that the most violent agitators don't survive the tsunami because they become a liability as soon as the "enemies" are gone. |
flokii:Ignoring the fact that Qatar is not a good model of development. Qatar is a welfare state with 2.8 million people. How do you propose to support welfare of 60+ million people with a fraction of Qatar's natural wealth? Have you even considered that the Nigerian arrangement of federal claiming natural resources will not work in a new country? There are too many leeches in Nigeria who don't bring anything to the table but love to complain, nag, nag and then nag.I agree, and they cut across every part of Nigeria. |
MrMaestro:History is not a legal tender anywhere in the world. What does your state currently have to generate billions needed to sustain its populace? |
RisenJoe:Good that Are you willing to return to farming? It is only elders you find in farms these days and recruiting young people is very hard. The only reason I think you and your kind are afraid of dividing the country is because what you gain as long as the country remain one not even because of your care for the Yoruba race....You don't know these. The Oluwo has little to lose. He could return to Canada if everything scatters. How about thousands of its subject, they have everything to lose. I want you to know that breaking up doesn't mean to stop using the naira IMMEDIATELY, so trade and commerce would still continue with the denomination until each new nation can come up with their own legal tender,This is a not true and you know it. The Naira dies, the day the country die. Who is going to be in charge of the central bank when you break up? In fact, smart and educated people will already convert their money if they sense a breakup leaving millions of poor people to suffer. and even if there is going to be any thing like hunger, I want you to know that it won't be as severe as it was during the civil war,On what basis do you make this claim? believe me when I say that mechanisms are in place to cushion the effect of the break-upWhat mechanisms are in place? Talk is cheap. Oluwo understand this better because he knows where state funds come from. Do you have spare billions to gift the new nation? No sir, Nigeria have no future if a millitary spokesperson can come out and say that a repentant BOKO HARAM stands the chance to be the president of this country,The spokesman is right, anybody who is not convicted of crime has the chance of becoming the president of the country! All you need to change it is sponsor a bill to prevent such. I can't share same country with people like you who have sold their soul and conscience. This is irrelevant. Money rule this world and anyone who ignores it in his plan is bound to fail. |
AntiBMC:You defend your home made terrorists by denying their casualties and you are here again to defend some evil jihadists. You need special help. |
Sterope:What do you mean? |
This looks strange. No kidnapper will release their target without getting something in return. They might be assassins who missed their real target. |
Dangerous move. Barrack boys will love such an opportunity. |
However, it is the duty of the security agencies to find those responsible. This is what I can say, for now, the security agencies will need to unravel those behind it.The same security you hate, call terrorists and celebrate their deaths? Well, it is good some still believe in state's security. RIP to the dead! |
gidgiddy:No need repeating. Name giver are irrelevant to a nations trajectory. Since you have accepted that it is a white British man called Lugard who should create and give you your countryCould you give me an example of a country where people sat down and decide to become a country from scratch? It is now very important for people like you, who have since claimed the name and country that Lugard and wife created, to pay some sort of remuneration to the Lugard estate for using their intellectual propertyYou need better education regarding intellectual property and colonial administration. Even though you turned logic on its head, let us assume you are correct regarding IP(you aren't): If there is anything like IP in country naming, the entity who formalised the name would be the claimant, in this case , the UK monarchy, not some administrator named Lugard. Even in business, you don't go looking for who to pay. Any claimant have to make move themselves and show why they deserve compensation using solid evidence and common sense, and decency. Since you are an African that can neither name your self or create your own country,What is the relevance of "Africa" in this discussion when I already showed you that country names worldwide are usually given by outsiders and colonisers? Did you also know that the name "Africa" came from outsiders? I think the continent need another name! Maybe I need to reiterate this. People do not sit down to deliberate on creating a country, nations arose through uncontrolled circumstances you should be willing to pay the Lugard family for stealing their creation and turning it into your own.Stealing? ![]() Who stole the name, when and from where? |
Good job Udom. Merit and local content should prevail. |
They claim they are after Sabo's aka anyone who doesn't support ESN. All you need to destroy your enemy is accuse them of being Sabo and ESN will finish the job for you. |
PeaceforNigeria:Behold the brave and innocent gunman! |
Army has always been in the SE as other parts of Nigeria. Just another attention-seeking post. |
gidgiddy:Nothing! I am not a misogynist, neither am I an illiterate or emotional wreck to have a meltdown over who suggested a country's name. It would have been a different thing if the name is insulting or derogatory. If that was the case, the argument for change would actually be about the name and not some inconsequential girlfriend. People who have worked in a formal setting would know ideas including names can come from anywhere and may be adopted into official process. The colonial administration aren't any different. BTW, the Romans named Britain, and Carthaginians conquerors named Spain. Their names apparently didn't stop them from rising. It even gets more interesting as the Spanish named Argentina. What an affront on the natives! South Africa was also united and named by its colonisers. Many countries and ethnic names are even given by their sworn ancient enemies. It is even strange for a country or people to have a formal congress or roundtable deliberation to pick a name for themselves. But HURIWA understanding the large class of undereducated Nigerians decide to play emotional games of invisible oppressive bogeyman namers. |
dettolgel:You know them. They hate corruption but are corrupt to the core. This one is teaching others how to defraud loan companies and his comments is getting many likes by Nigerians who hate corruption. But only a dumb loan company wouldn't have backup of their debtor's contacts. |
Unknown witness allegedly saw unknown uniformed men taking unknown young men to unknown destination. How do we respond to this? |
Who was Obaseki's godfather? Would Obaseki retire from politics after his tenure? |
Another organization staffed with dumb noise makers. Despite all the challenges the country is facing, their major concern is Lugard's girlfriend. BTW, Flora did not name Nigeria, the British administration did. |
