RomanceRe: Nairaland I Need Ur Help by Ivynwa(f): 1:50am On Mar 22, 2012
It's sweet that you are feeling all that lovey dovey but at that age such sweet feelings may swoon one into making unsound decisions. It's also sweet you innocently love her like that and just want to make a home with her but like others have asked "Can you really handle having a family now?"----your answers sounds like you may.

I will suggest that you give the relationship more time to be sure that this is what you really want to do.
The decision to relocate and be with her is a big one too, think seriously about it before making the leap. Make good decisions for the two of you okay. The 2 years age difference ain't nothing to me.

It's stifling and so fills the website with hardcore hatred.
What they don't realize is that it is all riling up the fire of hatred among Nigerians.
I wish that it can be stopped before it becomes too late and sends people boiling against others in the street.
We all know how Rwandans arose and killed themselves.
FamilyRe: What Do You Think Of This? (pic) by Ivynwa(f):
Ain't nothing funny about this. Needs to be taken off the net. It looks 30% staged and 60% real. I hope it isn't, if it's real----one (or both kids of these kids have been dangerously exposed to intimate movies/p-o-r-n for him/her to have started out this dangerously early.
Parents should be very careful of what their kids are being exposed to be it through the television, magazines especially the internet.

The friends kids move with can affect them greatly too, better teach them to understand s*x in a healthy way lest peers pressure them into it the unhealthy way. What the heck is that!
Jokes EtcRe: Some Mean Things to Say to Annoying People! by Ivynwa(f):
Ivynwa runs into the thread breathing fast and looking for somewhere to hide grin grin

Do bear with me, a certain woman is chasing me all over nairaland and I have to run here for succour.
Please people in this thread do permit me to say a few nice things to her.

"Woman stop stalking me, go and live your life and let me live my own. You have been going about nairaland washing me down for being unmarried and calling me old and other unprintables that I have learnt to stop reading. All I did wrong was telling you to stop mocking people with the problem they share in the forum days/months after they have posted threads about their problems.
Yes I am single and unmarried and enjoying my life until I meet the one God has for me. Please let me be. I may be old in your book but I am still beautiful, young, very stylish, very shapy too, attractive in my own book so what you think doesn't matter. I am happy for you that you are married and have children dearie. Stop making an afront on the dignity of all women by weighing/appreciating/depreciating us all on a scale of "I got a man and you haven't". Don't you have self esteem girl? The way you go about ranting on and on about marriage/husband shows that you have no atom of self esteem. Is husband all the self esteem you've got Baby? There's more to the person/beauty/heart of a woman than the man standing beside her. The man on the arms of a woman is not the essence of a woman. We are first women before we got blessed with whatever men we have. Give womanhood a break Baby.
Now run along and be good, I know that you are reading sweetie. grin grin. You are so very obsessed with me. grin grin Kisses to you stalker. kiss kiss

seechris: And after 8years in the seminary they come out like starved hyenas preying on innocent girls and drinking for the lost years, feeding fat on the church welfare just to recite some quotes from a book durin the mass every sunday! Its all bullsh except for a selected few.
B
Ogamgil: I pity u 4 what u hav said. Let me just say its ignorance that made u commit such heresy. Better bend down on ur knees and beg God 4 forgiveness before the rot of God befalls u.
C
Ivynwa: Please where is the false thing in what Seechris said? He didn't generalize----he said that some priests do not and he did not lie. I was born into a catholic home, grew up as a catholic choir girl(all round churchy yet I grew up and made decisions for myself and chose the mode of worship I prefer). I always defend the catholic church because i still consider it my mother/home-church but what this person said right now and right here is the truth girlfriend. Some of those guilty priests should be ashamed of themselves and stop soiling the catholic church, they feed on the church and do all kind of rubbish---if it is not so-do-m-izing children, it is women. One of them came clean the other day and fessed up to having a child somewhere and wanting to leave priesthood to go be with his family (the church was not happy that this same child has been reared with church goer's money). Two priests killed themselves (i think they hired people to do the job) in Southern America recently because they have been so-d-o-mizing themselves and got scared after they discovered they both have HIV. I guess i shouldn't give more examples so as to cover us up a bit.

The big question should be why is the Catholic church not allowing these men to have their wives and children, do they like all these sad stories dainting their image? These men are humans and will forever have urges like human so why don't they be legally allowed to have spouses so that they can channel that energy good instead of affecting/ruining the lives of others with it.Only a person that knows in his/her heart that they want to dedicate their body and soul to the service of God should be allowed to do that in truthfulness not every person rushing to go be a reverend father and sister and make his mother and father proud and become the talk of the neighbourhood etc. The truth is sometimes bitter but the truth will always be the truth dearie.

Yet it is humans like these that some people worship and adore as pastors and almighty priests. Respect the man of God, yes but don't worship, adore, allow him/her run your life or dictate your future/pace/family with his own loads of imperfections heaving down his shoulder----that is what we are saying that people should begin to do and quit being deceived by some bad persons in the name of religion.

Ogamgil: my brother u speak like on who see on importance in education. What do you mean by been a minister of christ or a pastor. It means teacher. How will one be able 2 impact knowledge to another without acquiring the knowledge. U dont expect an ilitterete 2 be a lecturer in a university. People interprete the bible in different ways. The study of theology, philosophy and all ul be able 2 understand the bible better. U said Jesus chose his follows and did not look at education. Yes but jesus kept on teaching them and explainig the bible 2 them. Before giving them the licence 2 go 2 the world and preach the gospel after his death On pentecost day. Practice what u belive in and live others 2 practise what they belive in. Heavenly race is personal. live God 2 judge.
E
Ogamgil: Do not criticize a fellow christian or judge them you criticize the law and judge it. If u judge d law, them u are no longer one who obeys the law, but one who judges it. GOD is the only lawgiver and judge. He alone can save and destroy. WHO do You think you are to judge someone else. James4 11-12. He who is holy should caste the first stone. Touch not my anointed and lay my prophet on harm. All this are written in d bible its better my Fellow christians 2 adhere 2 his word.
@Ogamgil

I think that the question "Who do you think you are to judge someone else?" which you asked in quote E above was actually you talking to yourself because you are the one silencing people in all your posts here (Quote B,D and E) and almost asking them how they dared speak their opinions.
Your tone is so very aggressive, you even went calling down the wrath/rot of God on poster Seechris (on your quote B above)asking that he better kneel down to ask for forgiveness before the wrath gets unleashed on/befalls him. grin grin

How do you do that? grin
How did you do that Sweetie? Shaking my head
I mean how were you able to pull that on all you talked to here in one swoop?

I didn't judge anybody, I only said some things to make you understand that the person you were condemning (by passing judgement on him and deeming him fit for the wrath of God)said the truth when he mentioned that some priest feed fat on church money and do stuffs behind. I even gave these priests the benefit of their humanity saying that they are humans like everybody, have s*xual urges and should be allowed to marry so that they don't go doing stuffs secretly. The concerns of most people that posted here including myself is basically to open the eyes of many/others who absolutely trust, worship and adore some shady persons as their pastor/priests(without knowing that these shady persons are only interested in taking their money away from them etc).

Please take it easy sweetheart-----chill a bit. It's not Rapture morning yet. Don't have us all quaking and shaking yet. We want to see sweet God first before the judgement gets passed on us. You seem to be the great secretary of that great day. Are you, love? Now smile for me! grin grin grin grin grin Hehehehe hahahaha. Hugs Baby. kiss kiss

It's hard for me to grasp that a man can shirk the responsibility/run away from taking care of his children, disregard his own blood (his children) and be somewhere eating and not thinking of his kids----just the same thing I marvelled at today when somebody said to my hearing that his father left his mother after having them saying that he does not want the commitment of training them. How do they find it in themselves to do that?

@Poster
Great that you and your siblings came out good and strong from it all. It sure hurts, I don't know you or him yet I abhor that enough to be tempted to say that you ignore him. Don't ignore him, he is your blood dearie. Somewhere in the Bible we are told to reward evil with good.

pro01: Ivynwa I notice you're quite atypical (*'religiously' speaking*), unlike most females around here. Which Alusi do you worship? *Maybe its the same I do* lol.
Sorry Babes I love God and have a good relationship going between myself and him ( wink now don't get jealous). I love loving God in sweet praise and worship and through his words too. I go to church when I can, yes when I can. When I cannot I stay home and still have church or do other stuffs I want to do---when I do fellowship with others in church I don't allow anybody interfere with my life or tell me how to live my life and how often to come to church----blah,blah,blah even in my university days my fellow campus fellowship members all knew that nobody can net me down in church. I do my thing, run my show, enjoy church, lift holy hands to God, sing in the choir when I want etc.

I am not against religion-o-o Ojare, is it nice for people to allow others deceive them (sleep with their wives and sisters), wreck their homes with false prophesy, cheat them off their hard earned money and even brainwash and imbibe strange doctrines in them(some blindfolded religionists) that will have them acting funny and maiming/killing others?

You have to watch out dearie. There is a thin line between the "type of cloths you want him to wear" and "the type of cloth he likes to wear" so that you don't cross that line, get imposing on him and make him uncomfortable.
I agree that when you are going out or going to events and occasions that he should look clean and neat(and dress to suit the occasion or event)but if he prefers to dress casually because of the nature of his work then you should let him choose what makes him comfortable while working---for example if he is an Engineer that is more comfy working in his jeans and shirts, you can't be wanting him to suit up to work and stuff as he can't work comfy in a suit and tie wear.

Jakumo: As an ordained minister with Our Lady of Divine Debauchery Celestial Church, I can help you out with a few tips, but it will cost you serious money, thank you Jeeesus.

To whet your appetite for more details, I will for now list but a few of the pre-requisites you will need to become a Man of the Cloth, Nigeria-style.

1. You must feel completely at ease claiming ALL the monthly salaries of even the most destitute members of your congregation, under the pretext of saving their souls. In the same vein, you must be prepared to threaten God's most severe punishments for those reluctant to pay up. Those Holy Sanctions may include the vigorous public floggings of tightwads, administered by church orderlies acting under your instructions as relayed from God, while the wives of less serious offenders might be punitively boned per plea-bargin compromises. Shout Hallelujah with me now, please.

2. You must be prepared to hold private midnight prayer sessions and VIGILS for married female members of your congregation who seek your spiritual help to get pregnant, during which you will be expected to impale their Mounds of Venus with your throbbing Holy Septer, so as to get them knocked up in the name of Jeeesus, amen. Thank you Lord.

3. Un-married female church members of between 18 and 23 years old must be taken regularly for Holy Bathing, Baptisms, Silken Thighs and Wonders beside the nearest river you can find. The wenches will of course be required to strip down to their birthday suits, enabling you to administer the Laying on of Hands and Anointing of Golden Globes, all the while Speaking in Tongues between the luscious thighs of those bathing girls, in order that their sinful souls be saved in righteous glory, even as you get your rocks off in the name of the Holy Ghost.

4. You must live LARGE, as you grab more wealth from your congregation, by acquiring the latest S-Class Mercedes available, living in the most expensive neigborhoods worldwide, and ultimately purchasing a private jet, which is absolutely necessary for those personal appointments with Jeeeesus in heaven.

5. Most importantly of all, you must be prompt and loud, in accusing of blasphemy ALL who question your lifestyle, thus foolishly earning themselves eligibility for Divine Retribution, normally prompted by making payments to hit-men detailed to liquidate enemies of God in a hail of Holy Spirit gunfire. Let there be light, that they might knowest thine wrath, Oh Lord.

For the above nuggets of privileged information, I expect a check for $1,000 USD to be sent to me right away. Praise the Lord !
No! you didn't disappoint me Baby. grin grin Thank you.

If you dont have a washing machine always have a bucket of sopay water in your bathroom and when he comes back from work just immerse the dirty clothes into the water. Next morning he will have no choice but to wear something else. Or you can hide the dirty clothes until you can give them to a washerman to wash/dryclean.

Try and lay out clothes for him that he will wear the next day and take charge of making/buying his cloths. Just say something like someone brought things to your office to sell and you decided to buy him a few shirts cos you know he will look good in them.

When he does look good compliment him rather than nag him when he looks rough. He sounds like another big baby, that God has blessed us with and so has to be treated like one sad

I note you say that he is good in other areas so please try and play down the areas that he is not so good in. I wish we all could find perfect husbands but sadly there arent any & we make the best out of the ones that we have cool grin
Haha
Sweet!

If he must wear his t-shirts for days, try washing them for him. If it's able to dry the next day and he still wants to wear it---it will be looking/smelling clean. If it does not dry he will have no other alternative than to find another shirt, just make sure that the wetness of such shirts when he wants to wear them doesn't irritate him. If you have a dryer, that will help better.

The probability of it being her nails is 60% especially if she is the type that doesn't bother to do nails and file jagged edges of her nails.
The use of Camera monitoring is equally good to be able to monitor her sleeping, if you can't afford that you may have to keep vigil over her some nights to watch for yourself.
Better find out the cause first before believing in some stuffs some are attributing to which when accepted by you may affect the peace of your home.
In a sleeping state, she may be scratching herself unconsciously with the jagged edges of nails perforating her skin. Do your homework and find out, don't up and believe whatever your brain can grasp. It may be nothing as serious as you think.

I want to show you this song by my favorite Soca artist Swappi.
It wasn't any fantastic song as he was just singing "Come and blow my flute" but I love the flavour of most of his songs. Girl, have you ever seen anybody singing about flute blowing/head giving in a song? He did and it sure sounded nice too.
He is my favorite Soca artist even though some of his people don't appreciate him much yet having other great Soca artists they are tripping over.
But me? I love Swappi's song so much that there is this place I and my girls hang-out and when the Deejay wants to make me happy, he just slots in Swappi'song because I was always disturbing him to play me swappi each time we storm the place. When my girls are liming without me and Swappi's song plays they all get excited calling me on the phone and making noise. Haha!

I think it's just the same way a non-nigerian may want to give his/her spouse Naija names.
Giving you a yoruba name may be gladdening his heart and that of his parents with the way they like to call you that, it may be giving them a warm sense of "she is part of us", "our wife" kind of feeling. This shouldn't be a big deal, as a couple of mixed ethnicity---you guys should be having fun with the language of each other and naming each other sweet names of each other's language.

He seems to be overdoing it though wanting you to change your own name to that, that is overbearing especially considering the fact that you don't like the name. Gently make him understand that that part about changing your main name for that is not fair on you. Persuade him to change it to another yoruba name that you like, that way it won't irritate you when you get called that and if it makes him happy that you have that as your legal name, humour him and get that as part of your names not that your main name should be made away with for you to have the new name. A new name that you like very much whether formally added to your list of other names or not will not harm you or affect your dignity in any way.
