pretydiva:You would end up eating shaft, rather than the protein component inside the beans. My method: 1. Boil water to 100 degree 2. Pour the beans inside boiling water. 3. Add a lot of Onions 4. Cover it up and Check after 40-45 minutes 5. Add second water, and allowing it to boil for 15-20 minutes 6. Add palm oil pepper and salt and other stuffs you deem fit. 7. Cover it up for another 5-10 min. 8. Stir 9. Call your friends to bring garri and sugar or Butterfield if you are that rich 10. Serve with garii or Bread or Agidi/Eko/Solid Palp! if you're at home Source: From an addicted beans eater. |

My problem with Chimamanda is how she's is always painting the Igbo tribe as a victim of modern Nigerian. Yes! The oba's statement is full of folly! Yes! No sane human being should utter such silly words, especially when it is directed to a particular set of people. But to ride on the tide of a statement made by an illiterate shows how badly Chimamanda wants to play the "Igbo card" in any of her piece. She said it herself! There is danger in single stories, they are stereotype and stereotypes are always incomplete. Start the story of Biafra war from how Igbo's were starved to death and you have a completely different story, start with the actions of Ojukwu and you have another story entirely. The first Nigerian coup (1966) has Igbo written all over it. Maybe we should start telling the story of Biafra from there. I respect her works, but I really hope she would stop seeing the 1960 incident from Achebe's perspective and read the story from another angle. |
There is nothing old about these items. I am just 20 and I recognize all of them (with the exception of #1 note) , am I supposed to be married by now? No! |
Viciyus:Again, your response shows you don't really understand me. Let's just assume you're right. OK?. Bye. |
Viciyus:Short term goal versus long term goal. That's the difference between your perspective and mine. Having options make us humans not try hard enough, our sub-conscious always knows there's a way out. |
Viciyus:You obviously read my response to post a reply, not because you want to gain insight from it. Increase exchange rate will result into increase in consumption of local goods (increased innovation). That is when you will see Jumia marketing shoes produced by itelewears.com and Aso oke for retail on Konga. Our consumption of imported goods will reduce drastically and only a small fraction of the population would buy imported materials. |
Only a fool will shut out a robust market (170million people) like Nigeria from his/her business (paypal comes to mind). BTW, this is one of the reasons why I think the high exchange rate will do our economy more good than harm. When a dollar is equivalent to #200, and the shipping cost of your goods is around $30-50, tell me why on earth you would opt for amazon over jumia/konga. In essence high exchange rate will promote local businesses and drive innovation. |
Normally, breast feeding will affect the functions of some hormones in your body. In nursing mothers, the most prevalent hormone is always prolactin which is chiefly responsible for lactation, however, prolactin have some inhibitory effect on hormones secreted by anterior pituitary gland, which are 1. LH ( Leutinizing hormone) 2. FSH (Follicle stimulating hormone) These hormones (FSH and LH) are responsible for proliferation and degeneration of the endometrial layer of the ovary, which is the bases of why you have monthly blood flow from your reproductive organ(the science is much more complicated, but let's put it that way) w As long as your body keep secreting prolactin in a considerable amount, it will definitely inhibit the effects of this hormone, which means you may not mensurate or it may be irregular. The good thing is that, prolactin is secreted in a positive feedback mechanism, which means when the trigger stops, its secretion begins to deteriorate. You might not notice the difference instantly because hormonal coordination is slow in action compared to nervous coordination. In short, you don't have to worry, you're healthy, its just your hormone messing with your head. |
Bumping Thread.... Happy Easter |
The reason why Nigeria is so backward is not far-fetched! Reading all the STUPID advice on here makes me wonder what the heck is wrong with Nigerians. So he should start praying abi? Right! Maybe fasting will help, 40days and 40nights fasting! |
Well, its total crap. You can't express your view of Lasgidi by spending just one hour in a poor hotel. It took some of us more than a decade to understand a bit of Lasigidi |

Janetozi:Still doesn't change the fact that, its not my place to judge people based on what they wish to put on. |
Its not my place to judge people, if you don't like what you see, close your eyes and move on.... |
1. Stole water from the house master quarters. 2. Collected food on behalf of the house master but never delivered the food to his quarters. 3. Stole fried fish from the school kitchen (the entire school suffered this, because they ate without fish in the afternoon) 4. Set trap for house master, such that when he enters the hostel, planks from my bunk will eventually fall on his head. 5. Lied to the principal that my parents are not in Nigeria, so they can't really suspend me because I have no where to go. 6. Used mobile phone even though it was prohibited. 7. Roam around girls hostel late in the night, in search to garri and milk. 8. Switching off the light by removing 'cut-out' during social night on Saturday. I had my crew, we did most of this crime together, I was just the brain box. Am a changed man though. |
Yawn... Poor indentation, so I did not read it. |
Never read the book, and I don't think I will be reading it. |
Had similar experience when I was writing my O'level exams (WAEC precisely) I slept off on the day I was supposed to write Yoruba, not because I read all through the night, I slept off because I thought the exam was slated for 2pm not knowing it's earlier than that. Needless I say, I missed the paper and I had "AB". PS: Not that I know what to write in the exam anyway, and my folks still couldn't get their heads around why my Yoruba result had AB, thank God I passed the prerequisites, my dad would have made more enquires about the entire result. |
Follow OP green light tip and your ego would drop like a penis without blood. |
LAUTECH is the number one institution that nurture rumour into reality. If you hear anything as rumour in LAUTECH, better take it serious, because its a done deal. I just concluded a 2 month semester (less than 4weeks lecture), it all started as a rumour. And the sun? I think Ogbomosho and Ilorin is closer to the north, that should explain it. Queue? We jump that shiiit over here, so am cool with it. Hostel? We're nonresidential. |
Beautiful? No! Master architectural piece? Yes! |
Over secretion on androgen (its a hormone). She should seek medical attention, increase her oestrogen level and reduce the level of androgen. Damn! WTF is she flaunting! this is an anomalies for Pete's sake! |
I read all the pages of the thread in details! Am sorry I don't have any experience to share, but thank you guys for making my day. |
GboyegaD said it all. Apply to schools in Nigeria, Federal institutions are very cheap, and you would spend less than a million for four years degree (upkeep inclusive). You can then apply for graduate studies in any of these developed countries. Just try to make good grades and stay within the STEM courses as an undergraduate because the prospect is higher than other fields. If you can't afford your education in Nigeria, what makes you think you can afford a flight ticket to other countries? Why should anybody sponsor your education? what does h/she stand to gain? what value would you be adding to h/her life? #EnoughSaid. |
OP na confirm Igbo! PS: Why do Igbo people hate red oil? |
farano:Obviously, you don't know many nairalanders. |
