My dear Allurefunky, I use to be in your shoes and I hate it with passion. I was so thin and my siblings were way bigger than me. I had no self confidence and will wear bulky cloths just to hide my thin frame....but guess what, nothing was wrong with me! it was my high metabolism and the stress of schooling put together. Fast forward almost 15years and I wish I could have that body back! Now I wish I could lose weight some weight. The good thing is that I am still slimmer than my siblings Please enjoy your beautiful self as much as you can. "Thin" is all in your head, you look cute! |
Nairaland / General / Re: Is Time Spent On Nairaland Worth It? by iyeayo(f): 9:09pm On Feb 27, 2013 |
Well worth it for me. I have been living outside of Nigeria since 2006 and Nairaland is a sure way for me to keep updated with things happening in my Fatherland. If I was told to pick between Facebook and Nairaland today, I'd go with Nairaland. There is no dull moment here and every minute spent on Naiaraland is a sure minute of additional update and knowledge. 5 Likes |

Rockamania: So so sorry for your loss, please take heart and stay strong. Your story reminded me of a family friend here in Australia who had a similar experience to yours. I could not believe it when the Ambulance people informed her that she had to be AIR-LIFTED to the nearest General hospital that her case is quite urgent (driving would mean she would get to the hospital 5 hours later and that was considered too risky for the baby). That very day within an hour she was delivered of the baby otherwise the baby would have died. I dont understand why your doctors did not see that your wife's case is an urgent one and that delivering the baby should be the first step. May the Lord comfort you and your family, and answer your prayer for more children IJN. I 8 Likes 13 Shares |

Get on your bed, place your head on the pillow, doze off and Dream!!, you'll be there in no time Seriously, the fastest is as a visitor, but not the best way if you intend to stay back. If you've got real money to spend, you can also try gaining an admission into any of the unis and applying for student visa. If you've got the skills, then skilled migrant visa would be the best, but could take time. Gp to www.immi.gov.au and you can explore various visa options. All da best |

blank: @Blank, I understand more than you think. But if a young girl of about 14yrs got violated by more than one guy and she ended up pregnant, will you advise that she should keep it?? is it not better for her to abort it and move on with her life. I will love your opinion on this and I'll go on from there. |

Nov1ce: Please you guys should not misunderstand me. I only expressed my opinion from a Biology point of view. If we are talking about Morals or Religion, then there is no place for abortion in the life of a christian or a morally sound person. I have never been involved in any form of abortion and I have kids of my own. Biology is different concept from morals, religion, emotions and feelings. You guys should stop being sentimental about this issue. I never at anytime said abortion was right. You guys should use your heads and think well before posting rubbish. Dont derail the thread. |

matty25: I really don't see why you have to insult me, I dont think I have insulted anyone by expressing my opinion. You dont have to work yourself up over my opinion. I never said abortion was right, I only expressed my opinion from the Biological point of view not from moral or religious point of view. Please relax, you are not God, leave all judgments to God |

Babies in the womb are like parasites, just like worms in the intestine. This is why they are called Zygotes and Feotuses until they are born. The are either wanted or not. If you want it, you let it live till it is ready to come out, if not, you have the right to get rid of any parasite living off your body, just like you will swallow a Dewormer to get rid of worms in the belly. Please let us think with our heads and not our hearts. Leave sentiments out of this. |

Musiwa, : Sorry, but I beg to differ!, I am a product of HND Computer Science, The Polytechnic Ibadan, and I am happy to tell you that I am currently based in Australia and employed in my chosen career (now a Senior Data Analyst). I got a job with 1 month of landing here with my HND certificate, and my first and current apointments are both in the Aussie government sector. I know a lot of Poly Ibadan products that are doing really well abroad! |

usewisdom: I am not sure really, most embassies no long trust statments from micro fin banks. You may want to ask around or contact the Aus HC, but I really don't see any issue as long as the account is verifiable and the money is readily accessible. Your friend would need to stay consistent and hav a gud and convincing reason why he is keeping his money in a MFB. The money must hv been held in the account consistently for at least 3 months prior to visa application |

tpiah!: We are both saying the same thing. That is where I am coming from, it was not all a 100% Julia. Go and see "Emerald" or "Bursting Out" and you will see how talented Genevieve is given that she had no training, no money and no sophisticated support like Julia can have. |

usewisdom: Let me give you some advice based on my mum's tourist visa that was granted without any hassle. If your friend is applying for a tourist visa but he is NOT planning to take his family, then I will strngly advise you to tell him to include his family picture. He needs to show that has a strong tie in Nigeria that is enough to force him to go back when his visa expires. Family especially kids are evidence of a strong tie when applying for a temp visa. My mum included documents of her properties, family picture of her and my siblings, a picture she took at her development site. The embassy people want to be convinced that he will return. If on the other hand he is not planning to take his family, then I dont think it is necessary. I will also advise that he should put only one bank statement, maybve the micro finance one and leave out the GTB one (hope he is not being dodgy). The most important thing is that the account is verifiable and the money is readily accessible and it is not locked up in an investment or fixed account. Strictly NO CREDENTIALS if he is going on a tourist visa, not even a torn piece of his CV. Even when he has been given the visa, at the border, if he is being searched and the credentials are found on him, straight back to naija o! 2 Likes |

baby-boy: I can bet with you that Genevieve will do it equally well, if not better. Did you know that Julia had someone playing her double in Pretty Woman? It wasn't Julia all the time in Pretty woman, sometimes it was her double. Have you seen the film "Emerald" by Genevieve & Majid? If you haven't please go and see it (I saw it on YouTube). You'll be amazed at the chemistry between Genevieve & Majid. |
