My dear Allurefunky, I use to be in your shoes and I hate it with passion. I was so thin and my siblings were way bigger than me. I had no self confidence and will wear bulky cloths just to hide my thin frame....but guess what, nothing was wrong with me! it was my high metabolism and the stress of schooling put together. Fast forward almost 15years and I wish I could have that body back! Now I wish I could lose weight some weight. The good thing is that I am still slimmer than my siblings tongue Please enjoy your beautiful self as much as you can. "Thin" is all in your head, you look cute!

Well worth it for me. I have been living outside of Nigeria since 2006 and Nairaland is a sure way for me to keep updated with things happening in my Fatherland. If I was told to pick between Facebook and Nairaland today, I'd go with Nairaland. There is no dull moment here and every minute spent on Naiaraland is a sure minute of additional update and knowledge.

Health / Re: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by iyeayo(f): 3:40am On Mar 09, 2012
Rockamania:

My wife was in her seventh month of pregnancy when suddenly one night she woke up and alas there was fluid all over the bed. i was scared to the bone cos i've never seen such a sight in my whole life and i don't pray to see such again. i immediately rushed her to a hospital nearby where she uses for antenatal. there the doctor on duty said she had premature rupture of the membrane. they administered Ergometrine in a bid to stop the bleeding little did they know that it worsen the situation cos the baby died in her womb hours later without their notice. at dawn i observed that no test or scan had been carried out and i called the medical director's attention to it, all he could do was to give me a referral letter when he knew he was not a specialist. i later got to a specialist doctor who confirmed the baby dead after series of test and scan and he opted for evacuation. it was really a sad scenario.

my point however is that getting pregnancy tips is one thing while getting a qualified doctor who is ready to work is another most especially when things don't go as planned. the doctors i met that night knew she has a contraction and they would have just carried out basic delivery methods possible but they didn't blaming it on lack of incubator and other flimsy excuses

So so sorry for your loss, please take heart and stay strong. Your story reminded me of a family friend here in Australia who had a similar experience to yours. I could not believe it when the Ambulance people informed her that she had to be AIR-LIFTED to the nearest General hospital that her case is quite urgent (driving would mean she would get to the hospital 5 hours later and that was considered too risky for the baby). That very day within an hour she was delivered of the baby otherwise the baby would have died. I dont understand why your doctors did not see that your wife's case is an urgent one and that delivering the baby should be the first step. May the Lord comfort you and your family, and answer your prayer for more children IJN.

@iyeayo, the tuition fees are on the high side, hardly do one get Australian university scholarships , as you know an average Nigerian may not be able to afford the fees.

Tell me about it, and to add to that, it is quite hard for international students to get a good job around here!!!!!
Travel / Re: Easiest Way To Get Australian Visa by iyeayo(f): 12:20pm On Jan 30, 2012
Get on your bed, place your head on the pillow, doze off and Dream!!, you'll be there in no time

Seriously, the fastest is as a visitor, but not the best way if you intend to stay back. If you've got real money to spend, you can also try gaining an admission into any of the unis and applying for student visa. If you've got the skills, then skilled migrant visa would be the best, but could take time.

Gp to www.immi.gov.au and you can explore various visa options.

All da best

Even if she is silly, the hospital should not be silly. There is such a thing as the morning after pill that can be taken up to 72hrs after sex that still stops conception. Are you trying to tell me that conception ocurrs immediately someone has sex? Why would u want to wait 4 weeks, realise you are pregnant and start talking about abortion?

That being said, if the mother's life is at risk due to the pregnancy ie medical reasons only then can u even justify it a bit. Not that some two iidiots forget to use protection and then the bigger iidiot doesnt even try to reduce the risks of being pregnant.

@Blank, but what if out of fear and shame, she couldn't tell anyone, so she kept it to herself until after 2 or 3 weeks until she couldn't see her monthly which meant that she was pregnant She is only an innocent 14yrs old and does not know anything about morning pill or morning after

@Blank, I understand more than you think. But if a young girl of about 14yrs got violated by more than one guy and she ended up pregnant, will you advise that she should keep it?? is it not better for her to abort it and move on with her life. I will love your opinion on this and I'll go on from there.

U must have an issue with your mind. How can u say a young life is a parasite, what if your parents had treaded you the same way, would you be here today?

Please you guys should not misunderstand me. I only expressed my opinion from a Biology point of view. If we are talking about Morals or Religion, then there is no place for abortion in the life of a christian or a morally sound person. I have never been involved in any form of abortion and I have kids of my own. Biology is different concept from morals, religion, emotions and feelings. You guys should stop being sentimental about this issue. I never at anytime said abortion was right. You guys should use your heads and think well before posting rubbish. Dont derail the thread.

I’m speaking categorically to PAGAN 9JA and iyeayo. First of all, it is a well-known unjustifiable offence to kill any human being, young or old, born or unborn; at least murder is an unlawful act. It strikes my heart that you talk about abortion as if it is a kind of voluntary exercise you can always embark on when you feel like. It means you are not really different from the suicide bombers we hear of, because you don’t even value human lives. Secondly, I am so disappointed in the fact that you refer to a fellow human being (though unborn) as a parasite in the body. It means you were once a useless parasite and you troubled your mother till you were born. Think about this. Maybe you should have been aborted and have your skulls crushed like every aborted baby. Finally, if I have to predict you, I will conclude that you have either helped, involved yourselves or assisted a process of abortion in the past. If you do not repent, you will go to hell and spend eternity there and your sweet dreams and selfish life ambitions will be totally aborted.

I really don't see why you have to insult me, I dont think I have insulted anyone by expressing my opinion. You dont have to work yourself up over my opinion. I never said abortion was right, I only expressed my opinion from the Biological point of view not from moral or religious point of view. Please relax, you are not God, leave all judgments to God
Family / Re: The Diary Of An Unborn Child. . . by iyeayo(f): 1:28am On Jul 12, 2011
Babies in the womb are like parasites, just like worms in the intestine. This is why they are called Zygotes and Feotuses until they are born. The are either wanted or not. If you want it, you let it live till it is ready to come out, if not, you have the right to get rid of any parasite living off your body, just like you will swallow a Dewormer to get rid of worms in the belly. Please let us think with our heads and not our hearts. Leave sentiments out of this.undecided

@ iyeayo,u're completely right. thanks so much and God bless u. So that means the Australia High Commission accepts Micro Finance Bank Statement

I am not sure really, most embassies no long trust statments from micro fin banks. You may want to ask around or contact the Aus HC, but I really don't see any issue as long as the account is verifiable and the money is readily accessible. Your friend would need to stay consistent and hav a gud and convincing reason why he is keeping his money in a MFB. The money must hv been held in the account consistently for at least 3 months prior to visa application

We are both saying the same thing. That is where I am coming from, it was not all a 100% Julia. Go and see "Emerald" or "Bursting Out" and you will see how talented Genevieve is given that she had no training, no money and no sophisticated support like Julia can have.

resourse, I've told my friend to remove his wedding pictures and credentials with family pics, and the police criminal checks. Also, have u seen anyone that submitted Micro Finance statement to Australia High Commission? Someone told me that it was stated on their website they don't accept form of investment account? What do u think? Have u applied before?

Let me give you some advice based on my mum's tourist visa that was granted without any hassle.

If your friend is applying for a tourist visa but he is NOT planning to take his family, then I will strngly advise you to tell him to include his family picture. He needs to show that has a strong tie in Nigeria that is enough to force him to go back when his visa expires. Family especially kids are evidence of a strong tie when applying for a temp visa. My mum included documents of her properties, family picture of her and my siblings, a picture she took at her development site.

The embassy people want to be convinced that he will return.
If on the other hand he is not planning to take his family, then I dont think it is necessary.

I will also advise that he should put only one bank statement, maybve the micro finance one and leave out the GTB one (hope he is not being dodgy). The most important thing is that the account is verifiable and the money is readily accessible and it is not locked up in an investment or fixed account.

Strictly NO CREDENTIALS if he is going on a tourist visa, not even a torn piece of his CV. Even when he has been given the visa, at the border, if he is being searched and the credentials are found on him, straight back to naija o!

Ha ha ha ha, I would like to see Genevieve play the role of Pretty Woman

I can bet with you that Genevieve will do it equally well, if not better. Did you know that Julia had someone playing her double in Pretty Woman? It wasn't Julia all the time in Pretty woman, sometimes it was her double.
Have you seen the film "Emerald" by Genevieve & Majid? If you haven't please go and see it (I saw it on YouTube). You'll be amazed at the chemistry between Genevieve & Majid.

^^^^^^^^^ Madame, that's like me telling you to look up to a 3 year old. You can type on NL so I'm assuming you're older than 3. Why should I tell you you're America's 3 year old when you're, for example, 25? That's 22 more years of life experience you have over a 3 year old. This has nothing to do with follow follow, and everything to do with experience. Genevieve is one of the best actresses in Nollywood and can be considered a veteran now, just as Julia Roberts is one of the best in Hollywood and is a veteran.

If we were to compare talent, lol, then Oprah should've compared her to, let me avoid argument.

Bottom line? America is the world's trendsetter, whether you like it or not. Maybe if 9ja had more innovation, the world would be looking at us for reasons other than 419 and corrupt government. The truth hurts.
