This is Nigeria where anything goes. The students are expected to be "grateful" that Oloyede was magnanimous enough to admit his board's error and they should also be "grateful" he was benevolent enough to allow them to resit. tongue

.....perhaps in your opinion, coz that actually not the problem of the country rather a part that carries no weight.

Instead of appreciating his honesty, una dey roast am like suya. Is this the way to actually correct the wrongs?! Others who might wish to follow his step incase they make mistake would have a rethink.

JAMB made a terrible mistake, agreed. Prof. Oleyede admits it, honorable deed. There will be a resit, great! What else una want?!
What is honest about knowing there was a glitch that affected 379k people since the 17th, and still lying about the results?

Ehn?

I would have loved you to explain what's honest about that, but then, someone who supported Buhari even as he ruined Nigeria and then came back to tell us he's the worst president ever, can only understand political honesty.

Honesty indeed.

.......una get energy to drag him cos he came out to admit the error. If he insists there is no ignore or outrightly ignore the call-outs, we would have got no energy to drag the institution ot him.
And this right here is the problem of Nigeria, and I don't blame you though

We have been conditioned to think then when people decide to be accountable, they are doing us a favour.

Somebody is probably studying Itsekiri education, instead of Biochemistry because of JAMB, but let's clap for JAMB for at least admitting their errors

No be Nigeria again? I cannot be shocked

......well, I really don't like it when people get emotional to defend their lapses. I salute his courage though, coz this is Nigeria where its better to bury the truth than revealing it.

He earns my respect for admitting the error and taking steps to correct it. Even though the white garment is stained, he has taken 'hypo' step to unstain it.
So when he announced the result, he didn't bury anything?

I don't know why you all are just emotional towards this blunder.

The guy goofed. He messed up. There's nothing courageous about lying and then coming back to say the truth.

He's not some junior officer that spoke out by disobeying his superiors. He's the Supreme Head to JAMB.

In a sane country (which Nigeria is not), he would have resigned after shedding those tears.

If Nigeria was abroad sef, u would've seen candidates affected by this incident banding together to sue JAMB. They would sue for damaged for the emotional distress caused them

Omoh.

The fact that it affected some students , then they discovered the "glitch" and it was patched. That alone should've made them hold on releasing the general results and do the right thing before the whole thing blew in their faces.

I guess he was weeping for himself for the grave mistake he made. He chose releasing results promptly over releasing credible results
I mean... it's very simple

JAMB released the results of 1.5 million candidates; 379,000 to resit because of technical glitches.

20% is not negligible. And to think that a whole region was affected, but the Prof that transformed UNILORIN to Harvard standard missed it.

A very good case to sue JAMB and collect damages

BlueRayDick:
I think u have a very good point .

From what I understand by the technical review report the Educare guy posted , it appears as tho JAMB was aware of the technical glitch even before the exams was concluded .

If they say the omission persisted till the 17th session after which it was discovered and corrected ; it means they knew about the glitch while the exams were still ongoing and then corrected it such that only those already affected from.start were victims while those who sat for.the exams afterwards were unaffected.

Now the big question is why did they not point this out when the original results were released? Why was Prof Oloyede singing praises of JAMB at the point of release of results when he's aware of this issue?

Was he hoping the students affected would.acveot the results in good faith and move on with their lives?

The more I go back to read the report, the more questions I have. This whole thing is so messed up. To think I ignorantly believed JAMB under prof Oloyede had overcome all this kind of mess up. I guess I fell for his self praise all along. 🤦‍♂️
Only emotions will make me believe Oloyede.

Everything they did is parallel with what they are saying.

379000 is not some figure that is insignificant. That's 20% of the candidates. There is no way they would not have seen that before they announced the results.

Oloyede was well aware of what happened.

And who knows how long these glitches have distorted the destinies of previous candidates.

Oloyede's tears no move me one bit

If JAMB had first announced the results, and stated that all the SE states and Lagos were to resit, it would have been noble.

Rather, they announced that 1.5 million were below 200. Even the 379k that is to resit, were given scores

Then after you saw that this error would soon be exposed, you eat onions and come and cry for us.

I know they don't disturb any vehicle that comes with the factory tinted windows, they only ask for permits once you fix it yourself.
Unless they have changed the way again, but as of last week factory tinted glasses don't have issues.

Na real falling hand be this thing wey just happen.

It only means a lot of students may have been affected in the past and they didn't get reprieve because their voice was not heard.

I read one man's post earlier this evening about his JAMB in 2001. He said when they sent someone to check his JAMB resukg back then it was recorded he scored 94! He didn't believe it was his result and neither did his father. His father wrote an appeal letter to JAMB for his result to be reviewed and didn't get a response.

He said he was already preparing for his second JAMB when JAMB posted his original JAMB result and he saw his mark had been upgraded to 229. The 64 he scored in English language remained but the other subjects he scored 13 and other low marks were reviewed upwards. He said he sensed someone in JAMB quickly noted their error filling his father's letter and quietly corrected the error without louding. He eventually gained admission with that result.

The guy pointed out that probably a whole lot of students may have been victims of such errors but nobody to speak for them.

When you are a PDP man and you only get your Sowore news from PDP and Obi X accounts, you won't see that Sowore is a lapdog of nobody but his own conscience

The same Sowore that exposed Yaraduas health and led campaign for Jonathan to be made substantive President when Turais kitchen cabinet was running the country for months. Exposed Akeredolus health and led campaign for his wife to handover to Lucky, constantly exposed Buharis health and was imprisoned multiple times for it, constantly exposing Tinubus health today. Sowore is Mr Consistent but some can't take it when their principal is the one in the firing line.

The election is over, and I cannot remember where Obi or Atiku is tackling each other over who splitted votes.

Nah, the men will have to fight back if they have no choice. If the choice is between sitting in one corner, waiting for your turn to die and mobbing the gorilla and hoping for the best, men will mob the gorilla.

Blows won't be weapon of choice but stampede. That, and fatigue on the part of the gorilla. If you punch a gorilla, you are very likely to shatter your hand. The way to go is for dozens of men to keep rushing it and trying to push it to the ground. After it has bitten off the heads/torn off the arms of the first 36-48 people, he will get a little tired and the next dozen will get him on the floor and then all the remaining people who have their heads and limbs intact start running and jumping all over it.

In an open field the gorilla will surely win cos once the first 2 or 3 men have their heads ripped from their necks, the rest of the men will 100% run away.
It depends on whether whatever blows we are giving is having an impact on the gorilla. That's what would make the men fight back.
