emmygzy:Contrary to what is peddled around, the battles of the Prophet were mostly in self defence. Islam came to the Arabs as a strange religion, they worshipped Idols, but the Prophet came with the message of oneness of God, the message 0f the supreme God. Indeed, just like the previous messengers of God He faced a lot of persecution from the Arabs of Makkah, they were killed, tortured etc because they proclaimed the message of "Your God is only one God, Allah". The Prophet and his followers had to abandon their homes and flee away from Makkah to Medinah in the face of the persecution. While in Medinah, the Arabs assembled again to attack them, it was then the Ayah was revealed and the permission to fight back was given: {Permission [to fight] has been given to those who are being fought, because they were wronged. And indeed, Allah is competent to give them victory. [They are] those who have been evicted from their homes without right - only because they say, "Our Lord is Allah ." And were it not that Allah checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of Allah is much mentioned. And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.; Quran 22: 39-40}. The first battle was the battle of Badr, the Muslims were greatly outnumbered by the pagans of Makkah, but Allah gave them victory over them. Many battles were fought after this, but never were the Muslims an oppressive group. The story is lengthy, I would recommend you read the book "The battles of the Prophet" by Dr. Ahmad A.Zidan |
kingsouthie:Yes you are correct, you will find traces of the original Bible manuscripts, but there are significant differences in them. Many books have been removed and many altered. Even till today, the catholic Bible contains other verses the other Bibles don't have. In fact isn't strange that the JESUS christians call everyday, does not even exist. His name was never Jesus, if He were to be alive today and you call him Jesus, He wouldn't even know u were referring to him. This is the strangest part of Christianity for me, Churches carving out the picture of an actor and calling him Jesus The Jesus of Christian looks so European, while Jesus was actually from the Middle east, I am sure He looks more like an Arab in real life. His name is not even Jesus![]() |
Amberon:What does not hold water Those Biblical verses don't exist or did I fabricate them Go and read about the Crusaders, and Salahuddin Ayubi, then come back to make an informed post. Outright nonsense Islam existed in Nigeria before Uthman Dan Fodio. And please how did christianity find its way into Nigeria![]() |
Amberon:Really, what about the Crusaders What about several scientists that have been killed by Christian priests, for contradicting the Bible with their scientific discoveries?? What about all these verses in the Bible![]() Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT) Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB) They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB) 1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB) |
hope4life:Open your heart, read and listen without bias, perhaps God may decide to have mercy on you and give you understanding. If you must make comments about what Islam or the Quran says, you must also quote the verses of the Quran to support it. Lest I digress, Islam is a complete religion it takes care of all the needs of life, including justice. In Islam those who commit murder are sentenced to death, and hence the verse about innocent souls implies those whom have not violated any law whose penalty is death. Those are regarded as innocent souls. \it is laughable, the way christians twist the verses of the Quran and accuse Muslims of all sorts, one then wonders what christians make of these verses from their own Bible! Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT) Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. This is what westernization has led us to. Shamelessness, women are no longer ashamed of being prostitutes It is unbelievable!. However, I must say it appears Apostle Suleman and this woman have got some past. He has taken her to court on "terrorism" accusations, He has got her arrested before, Apostle also acknowledges He has met with her before and has been helping her She is perhaps trying to take advantage of the situation, but I doubt Apostle would have allowed her to take pictures of him. !!!; but it is unlikely the woman will suddenly wake up and cook up this big story, may be she is exagerrating and adding salt & pepper, but it appears something may have happened between those 2. |
This account sounds reasonable. Really, all they posted was the nude pictures of a subdued lecturer. Where was the location?? Was that the Lecturer's house, was that a Hotel??, was that the girls house?? etc. How did He get there. Was He trying to rape her in her house?? How did the boys that supposedly helped her, find their way into the room. They were definitely in control of the situation & environment, they had the luxury of stripping the man naked and taking pictures!. I expected that for someone caught right in the scene of a rape, He would have first been beaten black & blue b4 people would start thinking of taking pictures. |
KingGBsky:Very stupid people. If anybody was to suppose to address this issue, then the acting president should have. |
highrise07:Mr. Sani Shehu have you declared your own publicly Abi Senators no dey still ni?? |
One of the bills on clean energy if passed into law would make every community to enjoy steady power supply from solar and other sources apart from gas. Another of my bills is the Illegal Refinery Legalization Bill, which the vice president spoke about when he went to the Niger Delta recently. I am expecting the presidency to write me a cheque for taking my idea.Mr. common sense!, common sense is not so common. Firstly there is no law banning the establishment of new refineries. The problem with the illegal refineries are: 1) They refine stolen crude oil (which implies that cost of material is near zero or minimal). 2) Refining process is not standardized. (This is very important otherwise people end up buying diesel that we will destroy machines or even blow up cars) However, it makes sense to encourage small refineries, legalization should imply that such refineries will apply for a licence, and definitely criteria will be set for them to obtain the licence. Even to setup a filling gas station you would require some licence, which can only obtained if your station can meet some standard Operating conditions. From my knowledge of this industry, small scale refinery can never be profitable with obtaining crude oil at OPEC's price, in order for them to be profitable govt. will have to sell at a much lower price to them. Easy temptation for roundtripping!. However there is a workaround on that, Govt. just needs to demand that they sell the refined products to them, this way they can monitor what has actually been refined. Needless to say such a small scale refinery will still require some big millions to set up. One of the bills on clean energy if passed into law would make every community to enjoy steady power supply from solar and other sources apart from gas. Another of my bills is the Illegal Refinery Legalization Bill, which the vice president spoke about when he went to the Niger Delta recently. I am expecting the presidency to write me a cheque for taking my idea. Will the bill make the cost of solar panels cheaper, or the cost of batteries cheaper If there is any reason why people are still holding back on solar panel roofs,it is the huge cost of setting up such. Wind vanes are not efficient except in windy open lands. Unless the bill will handle these issues, then I think it is a waste of time. |
Everybody just ignored the most important part of the news: President Buhari reportedly communicates regularly with Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, encouraging him to carry on the task of governing Nigeria while he undertakes necessary treatment needed to keep him alive. He has done what is right. He doesn't have to resign if his medical treatment is projected for 4 months. |
mantosa:There is no point pushing for the President's resignation. It is senseless, the man is ill and undergoing treatment, so why should We give up on him, if He has not given up on himself. I think we should all cut this man some slack, Osinbajo is there to act and that is fine enough. |
tillaman:Yes they are very brutal and whatever they are doing is highly condemnable. it is a shame that the security agencies have not been able to nip their activities in the bud, and Buhari not condemning their actions openly and immediately raises concerns. but there is more to the conflict than is being told. If we don't tell the true stories, then the conflict will never be resolved. There are victims on both sides, that Govt needs to help heal their wounds. I live in Kaduna, and have an idea of what is going on there, this has absolutely nothing to do with religion. The fulani herdsmen predominantly Muslims but hardly practicing muslims, note the way their women are distinctly dressed from the typical hausa / fulani woman u see in the city. They are less concerned about religion but more concerned about their cattle. The fulani herdsmen is usually in conflict with farming communities & definitely not all farmers are xtians. The crisis had been going on since the time of GEJ, and I can remember there was a time it was almost a weekly affair. Our security agencies lack the capacity to tackle crime at the scale is happening in Nigeria. Tackling crime is not about the amount of soldiers u have, but the sophistication of technology u have. When a crime is committed, the perpetrators leave footprints behind. Do we have a DNA lab, CCTV cameras at key areas, finger print database, SSS agents amongst concerned groups etc. Our security lacks the required sophistication and that is why people are getting away with kidnapping/murder |
tillaman:It is just a shame that we have a media that is one-sided & tells lies. Apostle Suleman's video is nothing new in that area. Christians have been killing muslims in Kaduna South no be today, the only difference is it is now on media. The insincerity in us is what has made the crisis worsen, now we have made it a religious matter. A crisis between Fulani herdsmen & farmers has now turn religious because deeply in our souls we hate each other. Fulani have killed several in Kaduna south just as much as the natives of Kaduna south have killed fulanis. What we need is a truth & reconciliation committee, to heal the wounds on both sides |
That we have import gas is shameful enough |
Origin:Well said. I totally agree with you. Christians only pretend like they don't care about your religion. Even in Canada the first hijabi newscaster was recently celebrated. |
There have been continuous protests by Muslims and fans of Mrs. Tinuke Oloruntoyin-Folami over her removal from casting news on the Lagos State Television (LTV). iWitness NG authoritatively gathered that Mrs. Oloruntoyin-Folami was withdrawn from casting news by the management of the Lagos State Government-owned television station allegedly because she uses a headscarf (hijab). Investigation conducted by the iWitness NG revealed that suspects behind the removal of Mrs. Oloruntoyin-Folami are LTV’s General Manager, Deji Balogun and Director of News and Current Affairs, Siju Alabi. It was learnt that things were a bit smooth for Oloruntoyin-Folami until Siju Alabi resumed duty with the LTV. According to sources, Alabi is a former staff of Channels Television, a station which many Muslims have constantly alleged of being against their religion. Reliable sources within the LTV also confirmed that the management of the LTV had earlier threatened the broadcaster to choose between her hijab and news casting. One of them said, “The new development here is strange. It all started from retrenchment and later redeployment. Most of the news casters have been returned on air, but Alhaja was not. I don’t know so much about Alhaja. I just know that she is my favourite among those casting news in our station.” “The issue with Alhaja is somehow. She had earlier been told to stop using hijab if she wants to cast but I learnt she said her religion is against that, you know you Muslims thing na! I suspect that she is not allowed to cast news again because of her hijab. If it is about performance, she is doing very well,” a Christian staff of the station said. Reacting to the development, Muslims on social media wondered why Oloruntoyin-Folami’s religion would constitute a reason for depriving her casting of news. While faulting the management of the LTV, they complained that such was least expected in a government-owned station. Calls put across to the General Manager and Director of News and Current Affairs of the station were unsuccessful. Neither the calls put across to them nor the text messages were responded to. Another top official of the station said, “We are trying to be more professional and we don’t want to appear to be religious bias. How many people do you see casting news with hijab in top ranking stations?” Also, attempt to reach Oloruntoyin-Folami proved abortive. A close source to her said, “She will not talk. Remember she is a civil servant.” When contacted on the telephone, the chairperson of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Mrs. Sekinah Lawal, described the alleged action of the LTV management as condemnable. Mrs. Oloruntoyin-Folami She clarified that there is nothing wrong with a journalist using hijab as a news caster. She said, “We have a lot of muslim colleagues in the profession that use hijab. Some are working with broadcast media like NTA and other radio stations. It is not against the ethics of the profession. It is uncalled for and should be condemned totally. We sincerely do not expect such from a station of the calibre of LTV. I hope the management will rectify the error and apologise to all concerned.” iWN Editor http://www.iwitness.com.ng |
I think this is unfair. It appears like christianization of Lagos. Did Ambode do a Thanksgiving on Muslim's new year or if Muslims and xtians both recognize the 2017 New year, why is it a all xtian affair ![]() |
The composition of an impartial facts finding committee by Federal and State Government to unravel the genesis of the crises and level of destruction and lives lost. At the same time they should investigate and identify all perpetrators of violence; their political sponsors as well as their collaborators in the Nigerian Police Force and ensure they are brought to justice to serve as deterrent to others The composition of truth and reconciliatory commission, comprising the two parties involved ( Muslim groups and Christian natives of Southern Kaduna.) This can be achieved through open dialogue, confession, and forgiveness. Thus, peace building processes with the collaborations of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Security agencies, religious leaders, traditional leaders and representative of Government at all levels. Government should ensure that, henceforth the composition of security agencies and their posting to all Local Governments Area of Southern Kaduna reflect federal character and diversity of the Nigerian State. Especially the Nigerian Police Force, State Security Services, etc. This will remove suspicion, collaboration and bias Governments should immediately pay compensation to all victims and ensure immediate resettlement of Hausa-Fulani Muslim forcefully displaced from their homes, such as Matsirga, zonkwa, Unguwan Rimi etc. And provide adequate security for their safety. Government at Federal & State levels should enact a law to prohibit and criminalize the mounting of illegal roadblocks for killing innocent Muslim on transit by Christian natives of Southern Kaduna with immediate effects. We appeal to the Kaduna State Government and the security agencies to immediately relieve the Muslim community of Dangoma from the siege they were put into by Kaninkon Chiefdom. They should provide permanent military checkpoint at regular interval We appeal to the Kaduna State Government to immediately relieve materials to the seven Fulani communities displaced from mile one. They are presently taking refuge in Unguwa Nungu, Sanga LGA, Kaduna State. Government at the Federal, State and local Government levels should ensure that all its appointments, programmes, polices and relief materials for Southern Kaduna Zone should reflects the diversity of the zone, i.e. Christian ethnic natives of Southern Kaduna and Muslims of Southern Kaduna The print and electronic media should always verify their findings before publishing; they should hear from both parties: Christian natives of Southern Kaduna and Muslims of Southern Kaduna. Government should establish a law prohibiting the poisoning of animal pasture, water ways and ensure the reclaiming of old grazing reserves and routes as well as the establishments of new once. We appeal to Senator Danjuma La’ah and Hon Garba Shehu (Senator and House member representing Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone) to try to empower the teeming unemployed youths instead of cheering them to violence. Also we appeal to Senator Shehu Sani (Senator representing Zone 11) not to politicize the massacre of Muslims of Southern Kaduna for his selfish political agenda. Conclusion These sad development in Southern Kaduna negate the principle of equity, justice and fairness and all that the Nigerian constitution guarantees, the challenges these scenario have already produced are numerous and daunting while the effects will continue to remain negative and devastating to the development of Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State and Nigeria at large. Thus, we are calling for all members of the public who are desirous of permanent peace in Southern Kaduna (Zone III) to immediately raised above sentiment and condemn the indiscriminate shading of innocent blood in the Zone and initiate a genuine process of dialogue, reconciliation and peace building as there is no alternative to peaceful co-existence, which is a pre-requisite to prosperity and sustainable development. Alh Muhammad M.K. Qaseem Mal. Dabo Abdullahi Chairman National Secretary, Jama’a Foundation Chapter Muslim Youth Foundation of Southern Kaduna |
Head Office: 20 Jama’a Street Kafanchan, Kaduna State Our Ref:_____________________ Your Ref: ______________________ Date___________________ Website: www.myfoska.uk.org THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE SYSTEMATIC GENOCIDE OF MUSLIM IN SOUTHERN KADUNA Preamble It is universally acknowledge that justice, equity and fairness to all citizens irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliation, especially in a diverse society like Kaduna State is a pre-requisite for peaceful co-existence, nation building and national integration. Consequently, chapter II section 15 subsection (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended. Stated “Accordingly, national integration shall be actively encouraged, while discrimination on the grounds of place of origin, sex, religious, status, ethnic or linguistic association or ties shall be prohibited…” Contrary to the above quotation, Muslims of Southern Kaduna have been facing serious existential threats on their continued survival on accounts of their believes, social, political and cultural values in the hands of Christian ethnic groups of Southern Kaduna who have arrogated to themselves the sole right and ownership of the geographical space called Southern Kaduna (Zone III) area of Kaduna State. In the last two decades, the life of the Muslims of Southern Kaduna have been very repulsive due to persistent state of apprehension and insecurity of what to expect either, while at home, at school, at work, at the hospital or on the road due to perpetual intimidation, horrific bloodletting and premeditated violence that has visited our different communities in Southern Kaduna. This has resulted to unmitigated extinction of over fifty Hausa-Fulani communities. Some of these are Zangon-Kataf, Zonkwa, Matsirga, Unguwan Rimi Baju, Kwoi, Jaban kogo, Gidan maga among others. The recurrent aggression across Southern Kaduna has received widespread publicity from the public, media houses, and the incident was also tabled at the National Assembly. Regrettably most of what was discussed and published was one sided, full of partisanship, ethnic chauvinism and imprudence as promoted by Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and their sponsors, without any logical initiative for dialogue, reconciliation and peace building. Thus, as the bogus and deceitful propaganda continued. The Jama’a Foundation , Kafanchan chapter in collaboration with Muslim Youth Foundation of Southern Kaduna (MYFOSKA) fines it very imperative to give a factual perspective of the state of affairs in Southern Kaduna. The recent crises in Southern Kaduna (Zone III). The renewed aggression has been summarized into three phases the Ninte saga, the demonstration episode and the Goska incident. Ninte is a settlement in Godogodo chiefdom, Jema’a Local Government. On 25th of May, 2016.Some herdsmen were grazing with their cattles in the area and a farmer accused them to have entered a farmland thereby causing some damages. This resulted to disagreement. The herdsmen leader (Ardo) of the area intervened and he initiates a peace move, along with the two other herdsmen involved. He went to the Hakimi’s office to reassure him and the community of their desire to compensate the aggrieved farmer for any damages done to the farmland and any other expenses. Unfortunately, he was surrounded and killed malevolently by the Christian natives. They further went on rampage, burning all Fulani settlements in and around Godogodo and in the process, attacked and killed every herdsmen on-sight. The unsolicited violence came as a shock, especially to the Fulani headsmen and the Muslim communities. Expectedly the security agencies, specifically the Nigerian Police, as usual, made no attempt to arrest the culprits. This state of injustice and hopelessness forced the herdsmen to respond in self defense. Additionally, to give their action momentum, SOKAPU rushed to the media to distort facts and carry out false propaganda, they were explicitly calling on their people to take up arms, thus, within a period of few hours, the situation escalated and spread to Kaura and Zango-kataf Local Government Area. Thus, there were coordinated attacks on the settlement of Hausa-Fulanis in Gidan-Waya, Tafan and Pasakori. At the same time they mounted illegal roadblocks along all roads that traverse Southern Kaduna; they were visibly seen stopping, searching and slaughtering any Muslims in the vehicle passing. Some of the horrible cases recorded are; They destroyed and burned the two central mosques in Godogodo destroyed including some Muslim settlement. Mal Ibrahim Abubakar, an Igala by tribe, and a B.Ed students at Kaduna State College of Education,Gidan-waya, together with his Christian friend were attacked along Pasakori on 25th October, 2016.. For being a Muslim he was killed. while his Christian friend was speared 18 innocent Fulani Muslim travelers from Niger state were on their way to Denge in Plateau State, they were stop at one of the illegal roadblock at Garaje, Kaura LGA. They were all killed and burned in their two vehicles Mal Yakubu, was the accountant of Jema’a LGA. He was ambushed and killed at the illegal roadblock at Garaje, Kaura LGA, for being a Muslim, even though he was an ikulu by tribe. Babangida Mohammad from Saminaka, was an okada rider, he took a passenger to Unguwan Musa on 30th October he was attacked and killed. Mal Mohammad was a Mining Engineer from Niger republic, who has sign an MOU with the Nasarawa State Government for solid minerals prospecting. He was stop and murdered together with his brother in one of the illegal roadblock at Kagoro. The entire Seven Fulani settlement in mile One, Gidan-waya were all destroyed and burned, while over hundred of their cattle were stolen. At same time no relieve materials was provided to them by the State Government. 6th December, 2016 was samarun-kataf markets day, on that day while the market was at its peak, all Muslim in the market, in respective of their ethnic group, were attacked and killed, there corpse were deposited in an unused well, and there properties were looted and destroyed. Mal Abubakar Naseh, was killed and burned in the premises of the police post at Kaura LGA. Fulani settlement around Jakansa, Kaura LGA was surrounded where five persons were killed, all their settlement were burned, over two hundred cattle’s were killed. The list is endless. The second round of their aggression on Muslims was disguise as a peaceful demonstration. This is in spite of the order banding all forms of procession in Kaduna State. The Hausa-Fulani and other Muslim community of Kafanchan woke on 19th December, 2016 to be confronted with unimaginable insults, harassment and intimidation in the name of a procession. They were led by their chief sponsor Hon Danjuma La’ah, the senator representing Southern Kaduna senatorial District. While men of the Nigerian police force, as usual gave them the necessary cover. Consequently, as they reach the Government secretariat the destruction begins; They destroyed the council chairman office as well treasurer and accountant offices. After which they now turns to Muslim and their properties. Some of the cases are; The destroyed and burned the Local Government Mosque, Federal technical college Mosque, Kaduna State College of Education temporary site Mosque. They destroyed the Kudnax filling station opposite College of Nursing Kafanchan belonging to Alh Kabiru Tanko, destroyed his ginger store after stolen some bags and burned the store thereafter. They destroyed and burned a Business center belonging to Alh Danjuma Umar, incidentlally all his staff were the same Christian natives. They destroyed the A.A. Abbas filling station opposite flour-mill Kafanchan belonging to Alh Abbas. As usual, while the illegal procession last, they also mounted illegal roadblocks along all roads that traverse Southern Kaduna, in the process several innocent Muslims lost their lives and their vehicles were burned. The final aggression was an attacked by Goska community to Fulani settlement (Kadan) at the outskirt t of Dangoma on 23rd December, 2015. The killed several Fulani herdsmen and burned their houses and killed over one hundred cattles. The assault continued until 24th December, 2015 when the herdsmen responded in self defense, and drove them back to Goska where the altercation continues. In the early morning of 26th December, 2016, the Goska community regroup and burned three Fulani settlement (rugan kohoje, Gereje and Kwaje) close to Dangoma. They proceeded to Dangoma and surround the community, they shot six person to death and make several attempt to burned the community before the arrival of military personnel. In spite of all this no arrest was made, while the media only reported the Goska community encounter. To date, Dangoma, a Hausa-Fulani community is under siege by Christian natives of Goska, Takau and Tudunwada all in Kaninkon chiefdom. Our observation From the foregoing, it is apparent that all the crises were premeditated, if not, why did the natives rejects the dialogue initiated by the Herdsmen leader (Ardo) and immediately result to bloodshed? Why was the two central mosques of Godogodo burnt? Why did the disagreement in Godogodo spread to Kaura and Zangon-Kataf LGA.? Why were all roads that traverse Southern Kaduna blocked, and all Muslim irrespective of tribe or place of origin, killed and burnt? Why did the illegal procession result to burning of Mosque in all Federal and State institutions and Killing of innocent Muslims on transit including the looting and destruction of their properties etc? Again why were the Senator and House member representing Zone III and Jema’a/Sanga federal Constituency respectively silent on this whole issue? Why was SOKAPU and CAN selfish? Most importantly why was the media house, specifically AIT bias in its reporting. This is a grant collaboration to continue the extermination of Muslim and Islam completely from the zone, as already started. Therefore, we say enough is enough? And we like to make bold, the following clarifications; The geographical area called Southern Kaduna is one of the three senatorial Zones that make up Kaduna State. Thus, politically Southern Kaduna is known as Zone III area of Kaduna State which consist of all the areas and communities in the following eights ( Local Government Areas. Namely, Jema’a, Zangon-Kataf, Kaura, Sanga, Jaba, Kachia, Kagarko, and Kauru.Southern Kaduna (Zone III) comprises of thirty (30) different ethnic nationalities. The most prominent once are the Hausa/Fulani, Bajju, Aegworok, Atyap, Kaninkon, Jaba, Kagoma, Ninzo, Ayu, Numana etc. These ethnic natives of Southern Kaduna have Christianity as their common bond, with the exception of Hausa and Fulani who are 99% Muslims. The population of Muslim community comprising of Hausa/Fulani and Muslims from other natives tribes to the population of the Christian natives is in the ratio of 40% : 60% of the total population of Southern Kaduna. Historically, Hausa/Fulanis founded most communities in Southern Kaduna area for more than two hundred years. For instance, Jama’a Emirate which came to being like any other emirate in Northern Nigeria is the oldest traditional institution in Southern Kaduna. The emirate was established in the year 1810 by Mallam Usman Yabo; the son of Sarkin Kabin Yabo, Muhammadu Mayijo, one of the field commanders of Sheikh Usman Danfodio. The present emir of Jama’a His Highness of Alh (Dr) Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu II is the eleveth emir of Jama’a. Jama’a emirate gave birth to all other traditional institution in Southern Kaduna with the exception Kagoro, Jaba and Marwa chiefdoms. They rest were formally under the Zaria and Jama’a emirate. The driven factor for the recurrent of violence in Southern Kaduna is the pathological hatred for Muslims and Islam that has been deeply instilled in the minds of Southern Kaduna Christians natives by their elites. Thus, Any form of characterization: Ethnic, Chieftaincy, Procession, Land or Farmers-Herdsmen conflicts are mere disguise and camouflage. They have used theses pretext to unleash horrific bloodletting on the Muslims, through massive killings, wanton destruction of religious centers like mosques and Islamic schools as well as destruction of economic base of the Muslim community such as: markets, filling stations, businesses centers and brutal killing and theft of livestock among others.. Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) is a union of Christians from Southern Kaduna, as no Muslim is or will ever be obliged genuine membership. What it propagates is hatred of Muslims and Islam, and that any Hausa, Fulani or Muslim is a settler and has limited rights in the area contrary to the right guaranteed in the Nigerian Constitution. Thus, it will be more appropriate for SOKAPU to change its name to Southern Christian Union (SOCU)? This will make better meaning and it will support the hidden agenda for which the union was formed. It is on records that Southern Kaduna Christian natives are living and working peacefully in Northern States that are predominantly Muslims, like Zamfara, Sokoto, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Niger, Bauchi, Adamawa among others, without any form of intimidation, harassment or bloodshed. Yet the natives of these States are consistently being attacked and killed at illegal roads blocks mount by Christian natives of Southern Kaduna It is imperative to state that the perpetrators and sponsors of this kind of monumental crime against Hausa/Fulani and other Muslims, from Kasuwan magani in 1981 to the last 2011 post-election massacre, have never for once being brought to justice in spite of the fact that, some were being indicted by different commissions of inquiry set up by Kaduna State Government at various points in time. Thus, the perpetrators took pride in what they did especially. in Zonkwa, wthey recorded all their ungodly killing in a video recorder. Most of the assailants were not only identifiable in the pictures and clips, but also apprehensible. Historically, whenever peace-talk or dialogue among the parties involved and agreement are reached. the Southern Kaduna Christians natives are always the first to breach the contract. Cases abound in this regard. The Ninte case is a typical example, All Government efforts in bringing communities to sign peace agreement as done in Plateau State was also deliberately breach by the Southern Kaduna Christians natives even a simple signpost of peace mounted at Samarun-Kataf was destroyed. They have consistently chosen violence and bloodshed instead of dialogue and reconciliation. This is obvious from their media campaign of calumny. It is very important to mention that the views of Senator Danjuma La’ah and Hon Garba Shehu (Senator and House member representing Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone) presented at the floor of the senate does not represent the through views of situation in Southern Kaduna. They have built alliance with their fellow Christian natives, thus, they intentionally refuse to report all the extinction against the Hausa, Fulani and other Muslims in their constituencies It is also very important to state that the composition of men and women of the Nigerian Police force posted to Southern Kaduna contravene the federal character and diversity of Nigeria as the records shows that 99% of men and women of the Nigerian Police force serving in Southern Kaduna are Christians and ethnic natives of these areas. Thus, instead of providing security for lives and properties to the general public, they have participated actively in the intimidation, harassment and killing of innocent Hausa-Fulani and other Muslims of Southern Kaduna. Our recommendation We Hausa-Fulani and other Muslims of Southern Kaduna have suffered undue bloodshed and destruction. Yet we are being unduly prosecuted and marginalized by the media, civil society organizations, without giving us a faire-hearing. Thus, we appeal to journalist, media houses, CSOs like National human right commission (NHRC) AND Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) among others to always come down to Southern Kaduna and verify facts before coming to conclusions on critical issues like this. We strongly condemn the taking of innocent lives and supports all Government efforts aim at restoring peaceful co-existence. Thus, we make the following recommendations: |
A nation of shameless people |
I don't know what category I fall according to the OP's classification. But I would tell anyone who cares to listen that MMM is a scam. In that Scam some people would benefit and some people would lose; those who would eventually benefit are those who would cause the loss of others. It is very simple to see that the whole scheme does not create wealth in whatsoever manner; it is simply a redistribution of wealth. MMM cannot continue forever it is bound to crash, because the extra money being made by people is not coming from anywhere other than from the people themselves; at some point in time, the whole scheme will crash and perhaps it has crashed. So if you are lucky that you have benefited good luck to you and if you have lost your money like most people in my office; sorry hard luck. |
There is no need to ban importation through land borders. It is unnecessary, all Govt needs to do us to ensure they equip the customs to do their jobs better. |

Africonji:No matter the amount of hate or jealousy you spew against the National party APC, people will only keep seeing how shallow you are. APC is national party with representation all across Nigeria. A party does not have to dominate the whole Nigeria, it is natural yhat parties have their spheres of dominance. If APC manages to perform or up their game, they can expand otherwise if PDP governors manage to perform then they can ride on that to reclaim more states. APC is not an Hausa-Yoruba party, there are just as many Hausas and Yorubas in PDP as there are in APC. |

I Pray the idea works. But Govt needs to do more than that. What about help with bagging them in fanciful coloured bags with fanciful names. What needs to be done is branding; make it look special and then it would become special. |
Bible Research > English Versions > 20th Century > RSV > Preface Preface to the Revised Standard Version (2nd ed., 1971) The Revised Standard Version of the Bible is an authorized revision of the American Standard Version, published in 1901, which was a revision of the King James Version, published in 1611. The first English version of the Scriptures made by direct translation from the original Hebrew and Greek, and the first to be printed, was the work of William Tyndale. He met bitter opposition. He was accused of willfully perverting the meaning of the Scriptures, and his New Testaments were ordered to be burned as “untrue translations.” He was finally betrayed into the hands of his enemies, and in October 1536, was publicly executed and burned at the stake. Yet Tyndale’s work became the foundation of subsequent English versions, notably those of Coverdale, 1535; Thomas Matthew (probably a pseudonym for John Rogers), 1537; the Great Bible, 1539; the Geneva Bible, 1560; and the Bishops’ Bible, 1568. In 1582, a translation of the New Testament, made from the Latin Vulgate by Roman Catholic scholars, was published at Rheims. The translators who made the King James Version took into account all of these preceding versions; and comparison shows that it owes something to each of them. It kept felicitous phrases and apt expressions, from whatever source, which had stood the test of public usage. It owed most, especially in the New Testament, to Tyndale. The King James Version had to compete with the Geneva Bible in popular use; but in the end it prevailed, and for more than two and a half centuries no other authorized translation of the Bible into English was made. The King James Version became the “Authorized Version” of the English-speaking peoples. The King James Version has with good reason been termed “the noblest monument of English prose.” Its revisers in 1881 expressed admiration for “its simplicity, its dignity, its power, its happy turns of expression ... the music of it cadences, and the felicities of its rhythm.” It entered, as no other book has, into the making of the personal character and the public institutions of the English-speaking peoples. We owe to it an incalculable debt. Yet the King James Version has grave defects. By the middle of the nineteenth century, the development of Biblical studies and the discovery of many manuscripts more ancient than those upon which the King James Version was based, made it manifest that these defects are so many and so serious as to call for revision of the English translation. The task was undertaken, by authority of the Church of England, in 1870. The English Revised Version of the Bible was published in 1881-1885; and the American Standard Version, its variant embodying the preferences of the American scholars associated in the work, was published in 1901. Because of unhappy experience with unauthorized publications in the two decades between 1881 and 1901, which tampered with the text of the English Revised Version in the supposed interest of the American public, the American Standard Version was copyrighted, to protect the text from unauthorized changes. In 1928, this copyright was acquired by the International Council of Religious Education, and thus passed into the ownership of the churches of the United States and Canada which were associated in this Council through their boards of education and publication. The Council appointed a committee of scholars to have charge of the text of the American Standard Version and to undertake inquiry as to whether further revision was necessary. For more than two years the Committee worked upon the problem of whether or not revision should be undertaken; and if so, what should be its nature and extent. In the end the decision was reached that there is need for a thorough revision of the version of 1901, which will stay as close to the Tyndale-King James tradition as it can in the light of our present knowledge of the Hebrew and Greek texts and their meaning on the one hand, and our present understanding of English on the other. In 1937, the revision was authorized by vote of the Council, which directed that the resulting version should “embody the best results of modern scholarship as to the meaning of the Scriptures, and express this meaning in English diction which is designed for use in public and private worship, and preserves those qualities which have given to the King James Version a supreme place in English literature.” Thirty-two scholars have served as members of the Committee charged with making the revision, and they have secured the review and counsel of an Advisory Board of fifty representatives of the cooperating denominations. The Committee has worked in two sections, one dealing with the Old Testament and one with the New Testament. Each section has submitted its work to the scrutiny of the members of the other section; and the charter of the Committee requires that all changes be agreed upon by a two-thirds vote of the total membership of the Committee. The Revised Standard Version of the New Testament was published in 1946. The publication of the Revised Standard Version of the Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, was authorized by vote of the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the U.S.A. in 1951. The problem of establishing the correct Hebrew and Aramaic text of the Old Testament is very different from the corresponding problem in the New Testament. For the New Testament we have a large number of Greek manuscripts, preserving many variant forms of the text. Some of them were made only two or three centuries later than the original composition of the books. For the Old Testament, only late manuscripts survive, all (with the exception of the Dead Sea texts of Isaiah and Habakkuk and some fragments of other books) based on a standardized form of the text established many centuries after the books were written. The present revision is based on the consonantal Hebrew and Aramaic text as fixed early in the Christian era and revised by Jewish scholars (the “Masoretes”) of the sixth to ninth centuries. The vowel-signs, which were added by the Masoretes, are accepted also in the main, but where a more probable and convincing reading can be obtained by assuming different vowels, this has been done. No notes are given in such cases, because the vowel points are less ancient and reliable than the consonants. Departures from the consonantal text of the best manuscripts have been made only where it seems clear that errors in copying had been made before the text was standardized. Most of the corrections adopted are based on the ancient versions (translations into Greek, Aramaic, Syriac, and Latin), which were made before the time of the Masoretic revision and therefore reflect earlier forms of the text. In every such instance, a footnote specifies the version or versions from which the correction has been derived, and also gives a translation of the Masoretic Text. Sometimes it is evident that the text has suffered in transmission, but none of the versions provides a satisfactory restoration. Here we can only follow the best judgment of competent scholars as to the most probable reconstruction of the original text. Such corrections are indicated in the footnotes by the abbreviation Cn, and a translation of the Masoretic Text is added. The discovery of the meaning of the text, once the best readings have been established, is aided by many new resources for understanding the original languages. Much progress has been made in the historical and comparative study of these languages. A vast quantity of writings in related Semitic languages, some of them only recently discovered, has greatly enlarged our knowledge of the vocabulary and grammar of Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic. Sometimes the present translation will be found to render a Hebrew word in a sense quite different from that of the traditional interpretation. It has not been felt necessary in such cases to attach a footnote, because no change in the text is involved and it may be assumed that the new rendering was not adopted without convincing evidence. The analysis of religious texts from the ancient Near East has made clearer the significance of ideas and practices recorded in the Old Testament. Many difficulties and obscurities, of course, remain. Where the choice between two meanings is particularly difficult or doubtful, we have given an alternative rendering in a footnote. If in the judgment of the Committee the meaning of a passage is quite uncertain or obscure, either because of corruption in the text or because of the inadequacy of our present knowledge of the language, that fact is indicated by a note. It should not be assumed, however, that the Committee was entirely sure or unanimous concerning every rendering not so indicated. To record all minority views was obviously out of the question. A major departure from the practice of the American Standard Version is the rendering of the Divine Name, the “Tetragrammaton.” The American Standard Version used the term “Jehovah”; the King James Version had employed this in four places, but everywhere else, except in three cases where it was employed as part of a proper name, used the English word Lord (or in certain cases God) printed in capitals. The present revision returns to the procedure of the King James Version, which follows the precedent of the ancient Greek and Latin translators and the long established practice in the reading of the Hebrew scriptures in the synagogue. While it is almost if not quite certain that the Name was originally pronounced “Yahweh,” this pronunciation was not indicated when the Masoretes added vowel signs to the consonantal Hebrew text. To the four consonants YHWH of the Name, which had come to be regarded as too sacred to be pronounced, they attached vowel signs indicating that in its place should be read the Hebrew word Adonai meaning “Lord” (or Elohim meaning “God”). The ancient Greek translators substituted the work Kyrios (Lord) for the Name. The Vulgate likewise used the Latin word Dominus. The form “Jehovah” is of late medieval origin; it is a combination of the consonants of the Divine Name and the vowels attached to it by the Masoretes but belonging to an entirely different word. The sound of Y is represented by J and the sound of W by V, as in Latin. For two reasons the Committee has returned to the more familiar usage of the King James Version: (1) the word “Jehovah” does not accurately represent any form of the Name ever used in Hebrew; and (2) the use of any proper name for the one and only God, as though there were other gods from whom He had to be distinguished, was discontinued in Judaism before the Christian era and is entirely inappropriate for the universal faith of the Christian Church. The King James Version of the New Testament was based upon a Greek text that was marred by mistakes, containing the accumulated errors of fourteen centuries of manuscript copying. It was essentially the Greek text of the New Testament as edited by Beza, 1589, who closely followed that published by Erasmus, 1516-1535, which was based upon a few medieval manuscripts. The earliest and best of the eight manuscripts which Erasmus consulted was from the tenth century, and he made the least use of it because it differed most from the commonly received text; Beza had access to two manuscripts of great value, dating from the fifth and sixth centuries, but he made very little use of them because they differed from the text published by Erasmus. We now possess many more ancient manuscripts of the New Testament, and are far better equipped to seek to recover the original wording of the Greek text. The evidence for the text of the books of the New Testament is better than for any other ancient book, both in the number of extant manuscripts and in the nearness of the date of some of these manuscripts to the date when the book was originally written. The revisers in the 1870’s had most of the evidence that we now have for the Greek text, though the most ancient of all extant manuscripts of the Greek New Testament were not discovered until 1931. But they lacked the resources which discoveries within the past eighty years have afforded for understanding the vocabulary, grammar, and idioms of the Greek New Testament. An amazing body of Greek papyri has been unearthed in Egypt since the 1870’s—private letters, official reports, wills, business accounts, petitions, and other such trivial, everyday recordings of the activities of human beings. In 1895 appeared the first of Adolf Deissmann’s studies of these ordinary materials. He proved that many words which had hitherto been assumed to belong to what was called “Biblical Greek” were current in the spoken vernacular of the first century A.D. The New Testament was written in the Koiné, the common Greek which was spoken and understood practically everywhere throughout the Roman Empire in the early centuries of the Christian era. This development in the study of New Testament Greek has come since the work on the English Revised Version and the American Standard Version was done, and at many points sheds new light upon the meaning of the Greek text. A major reason for revision of the King James Version, which is valid for both the Old Testament and the New Testament, is the change since 1611 in English usage. Many forms of expression have become archaic, while still generally intelligible—the use of thou, thee, thy, thine and the verb endings -est and -edst, the verb endings -eth and -th, it came to pass that, whosoever, whatsoever, insomuch that, because that, for that, unto, howbeit, peradventure, holden, aforetime, must needs, would fain, behooved, to you-ward, etc. Other words are obsolete and no longer understood by the common reader. The greatest problem, however, is presented by the English words which are still in constant use but now convey a different meaning from that which they had in 1611 and in the King James Version. These words were once accurate translations of the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures; but now, having changed in meaning, they have become misleading. They no longer say what the King James translators meant them to say. Thus, the King James Version uses the word “let” in the sense of “hinder,” “prevent” to mean “precede,” “allow” in the sense of “approve,” “communicate” for “share,” “conversation” for “conduct,” “comprehend” for “overcome,” “ghost” for “spirit,” “wealth” for “well-being,” “allege” for “prove,” “demand” for “ask,” “take no thought” for “be not anxious,” etc. The Revised Standard Version of the Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, was published on September 30, 1952, and has met with wide acceptance. This preface does not undertake to set forth in detail the lines along which the revision proceeded. That is done in pamphlets entitled An Introduction to the Revised Standard Version of the Old Testament and An Introduction to the Revised Standard Version of the New Testament, written by members of the Committee and designed to help the general public to understand the main principles which have guided this comprehensive revision of the King James and American Standard versions. These principles were reaffirmed by the Committee in 1959, in connection with a study of criticisms and suggestions from various readers. As a result, a few changes were authorized for subsequent editions, most of them corrections of punctuation, capitalization, or footnotes. Some of them are changes of words and phrases made in the interest of consistency, clarity, or accuracy of translation. The Revised Standard Version Bible Committee is a continuing body, holding its meetings at regular intervals. It has become both ecumenical and international, with Protestant and Catholic members, who come from Great Britain, Canada, and the United States. The Second Edition of the translation of the New Testament (1971) profits from textual and linguistic studies published since the Revised Standard Version New Testament was first issued in 1946. Many proposals for modification were submitted to the Committee by individuals and by two denominational committees. All of these were given careful attention by the Committee. Two passages, the longer ending of Mark (16.9-20) and the account of the woman caught in adultery (Jn 7.53-8.11), are restored to the text, separated from it by a blank space and accompanied by informative notes describing the various arrangements of the text in the ancient authorities. With new manuscript support, two passages, Lk 22.19b-20 and 24.51b, are restored to the text, and one passage, Lk 22.43-44, is placed in the note, as is a phrase in Lk 12.39. Notes are added which indicate significant variations, additions, or omissions in the ancient authorities (Mt 9.34; Mk 3.16; 7.4; Lk 24.32,51, etc.). Among the new notes are those giving the equivalence of ancient coinage with the contemporary day’s or year’s wages of a laborer (Mt 18.24,28; 20.2; etc.). Some of the revisions clarify the meaning through rephrasing or reordering the text (see Mk 5.42; Lk 22.29-30; Jn 10.33; 1 Cor 3.9; 2 Cor 5.19; Heb 13.13). Even when the changes appear to be largely matters of English style, they have the purpose of presenting to the reader more adequately the meaning of the text (see Mt 10.8; 12.1; 15.29; 17.20; Lk 7.36; 11.17; 12.40; Jn 16.9; Rom 10.16; 1 Cor 12.24; 2 Cor 2.3; 3.5,6; etc.). The Revised Standard Version Bible seeks to preserve all that is best in the English Bible as it has been known and used through the years. It is intended for use in public and private worship, not merely for reading and instruction. We have resisted the temptation to use phrases that are merely current usage, and have sought to put the message of the Bible in simple, enduring words that are worthy to stand in the great Tyndale-King James tradition. We are glad to say, with the King James translators: “Truly (good Christian Reader) we never thought from the beginning, that we should need to make a new Translation, nor yet to make of a bad one a good one ... but to make a good one better.” The Bible is more than a historical document to be preserved. And it is more than a classic of English literature to be cherished and admired. It is a record of God’s dealing with men, of God’s revelation of Himself and His will. It records the life and work of Him in whom the Word of God became flesh and dwelt among men. The Bible carries its full message, not to those who regard it simply as a heritage of the past or praise its literary style, but to those who read it that they may discern and understand God’s Word to men. That Word must not be disguised in phrases that are no longer clear, or hidden under words that have changed or lost their meaning. It must stand forth in language that is direct and plain and meaningful to people today. It is our hope and our earnest prayer that this Revised Standard Version of the Bible may be used by God to speak to men in these momentous times, and to help them to understand and believe and obey his Word. I stumbled upon this post, while conducting a research about the Biblical view of Ishmael, Abraham and Isaac. I thought I should post the results of my finding and perhaps someone may find it useful someday. Many xtians are of the opinion that God cursed Ishmael, because of the biblical verse (Genesis 16:12: "He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.” ). Mere reading through this verse makes it appear like a curse, but also understanding that what is presented is a translation of an ancient language, and the translation may not present the accurate meaning of what the verse is about. So it is makes to consider the verses before and after this verse in order not to read it out of context. Genesis 16:7 - The angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur. Genesis 16:8 - And he said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I’m running away from my mistress Sarai,” she answered. Genesis 16:9 - Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” Genesis 16:10 - The angel added, “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.” Genesis 16:11- The angel of the Lord also said to her: “You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael,[a] for the Lord has heard of your misery. Genesis 16:12: "He will be a wild donkey of a man;his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.” Genesis 16:13 She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen[c] the One who sees me.” Analysing the verses: What is amazing is that when Hagar goes out into a desert and finds a spring, she is the first women in Scripture to meet an Angel of the Lord (Genesis 16:7). This is very significant. God (Yahweh) comes and speaks to this slave woman in the desert. He addresses her by name and asks a questions out of his personal knowledge of her circumstance (v . Hagar responds by giving a honest answer as to why she is there. She is given a test of humility by being asked to return and submit to Sarai.Hagar’s Son Blessed or Cursed? (Genesis 16:10-12) The Angel of the Lord gives a pronouncement about the child in her womb. What did God think about that child? What would his future look like? As we look at the promises given by the Angel of the Lord, let’s ask if they are blessings or curses. 1) “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.” (v 10) The promise to Abraham was the he would be the father of many nations and this promise of blessing Ishmael’s lineage is affirmed in Genesis 17:20 and partially fulfilled in Genesis 25:13-16. Hagar is the only women in Scripture to whom God gives such a promise of multiplication of seed.[2] This certainly was a significant promise of blessing to a pregnant slave girl. 2) “You will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has hear of your misery.” (v 11). How many birth announcements are in the Bible? How many are named by God? The promise to Hagar was that she would have a son and his name means “God hears”. What has God heard? He says he has heard her misery. What gracious care for this slave girl alone in the desert. It certainly was a promise of blessing. 3) “He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.” (v 12). To our western ears this does not look much like a promise but maybe an insult and perhaps a curse. We need to remember that Hagar is much closer to Bedouin culture than we are. No one today likes to be called a “donkey”,yet in desert culture a wild donkey communicates freedom and the ability to survive against very harsh elements. In Job 39:5-8 God describes a wild donkey as those that go free and survive in the desert (Job 24:5 also refers to wild donkeys in the desert). To Hagar the slave, this would have been a promise and not a curse. Even though she may not be free, he promised that her son would be! Another interesting perspective to this, would be the question why would God curse Ishmael Many xtians I know think God cursed Ishmael because He was the outcome of the marriage or illicit relationship Abraham had with Hajar!. Is this account accurate?? If we consider that Abraham married a 3rd wife called Keturah, and she bored him 6 children (Genesis: 25:1), were they also cursed Two generations later, in the same family, Jacob (Whom is Son of Isaac) likewise practiced polygamy, including taking a secondary wife or concubine. In this case, also, the legal status and the sequence of events are similar. And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die. And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb? And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees that I may also have children by her. And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her. And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son. And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan (Genesis 30:1-6, emphasis added; see also Genesis 30:9). All these verses seem to suggest that God was not unpleased with Abraham, neither had Abraham done anything that was unGodly, as no biblical verse exists that shows that God rebuked Abraham or Jacob for what they did. |
