This is the same way Boko Haram carries out onslaught in the glare of the public with no resistance from Nigerian security operatives. People have often alleged that residents of those areas must be aiding and abetting Boko Haram, otherwise how could they just storm the city and then disappear without a trace. Hmmm...; perhaps we should think the people of Lekki are aiding and abetting these armed robbers!. How could they storm Lekki, rob comfortably and disappear without a tracehuh

Upright750:
Who and who is reager now if not jega that wanted to conduct election when he refused to give millions their rightful PVC.
INEC never refused millions their PVC, it was millions that ignored going to collect their PVC, I am part of those millions, I only collected my PVC after the extension and it was due to personal reasons I delayed it. I still saw thousands of PVC yet uncollected when I collected mine. So INEC is not totally culpable in that regard. Anyways that is a matter that has been put to rest, we now have about 80-90% PVC collection and asuch that is no longer an issue. But despite this number of collected PVCs, PDP & GEJ still want to scuttle the use of PVCs, that is what the whole removal of JEGA is about, the man is resolute about the use of PVC, and PDP would rather we use the TVC, for obvious reasons. We need to stop fooling ourselves, JEGA has no means whatsoever to rig out a President, the power He has is to put instruments in place that makes rigging more difficult or obvious (as in the case with the PVC).

I think this where I have to say: Nigerians deserve the hell they are living in. It is just so pathetic how Jega is being accused of being an APC supporter. What has the man done? He has brought us PVC, all in a bid to ensure a free and fair election, something GEJ is desperately trying to botch. Removing JEGA, is not the aim, the game plan is to allow the use of TVC (Temporary Voter's Card), which will afford GEJ the rigging opportunity He so wants.
PoliticsRe: Buhari's Interview With Al Jazeera (Video) by JaaizTech: 4:36am On Feb 10, 2015
Buhari may not be the most eloquent in English, and perhaps not at his most alert stage in his life, but what I can definitely pick out is his sincerity. And that matters most than anything else. I am so pleased with the way He has responded on how He would handle the security situation. That was a honest and reasonable response. He would need to first evaluate how the Nigeria military has now reduced to what it is now. There is no way in this world anyone outside the Govt. can claim to have an absolute plan to end insurgency. How much intelligence / Information can anyone outside the Govt. havehuh

And He is so sincere, that He criticised the current Govt. so fairly with reasoning. He was honest enough to say He had no evidence that the FG was aiding Boko Haram.
With regards to corruption, I am even more impressed:
"what we could do without wrecking the boat further, is just to draw a line whichever case that is with the judiciary we allow them to proceed. Anybody in position to handle public funds must be held accountable immediately anything goes wrong, there is a system in place
in every ministry, in every parastatal. "

And that is where the sincerity of purpose becomes even more evident. Unlike the average politician who would promise you heaven and earth, Buhari simply acknowledges that the institutions to fight corruption are already in existence in Nigeria, the only thing to be done is to allow those institutions run accordingly.

Buhari will make a better President. That's all I can say.

I am not surprised. What do you expect to be written after a couphuh Which Newspaper house would write against a new Head of State after a successful coup. That Newspaper would simply be locked up the next day. However, I can gather that Buhari+Iiagbon chose to be very strict and rigid; honestly that is what Nigeria needs now; something like China. We should be talking of =N=60, considering how price of oil fell. resty4:
Oritsejafor: Nigerians running away from the truth
Paul Obi in Abuja
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Tuesday said politicians are constantly exploiting the current act of terrorism and insurgency by the Boko Haram sect for cheap and short-term political gains.
This came as the CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, observed that the country was still experiencing the insurgency because Nigerians are pretenders and always in the habit of running away from the truth.
Oritsejafor, while speaking at the Northern States Christian Elders’ Forum (NOSCEF) and Traditional Rulers Conference 2014 in Abuja, said the greatest war that Nigeria is fighting today is the war Nigerians are fighting against truth.
Oritsejafor stated: “Nigeria is fighting against truth. We hate truth, we hide truth and we fear truth. It is so unfortunate. In John 8:32, Jesus said you shall know the truth and the truth will make you free. Nigeria is not free because we are running away from truth. Truth can be bitter, but when you swallow it, when it gets inside, it could become sweet.
“No nation can grow or develop without embracing the truth. No matter how difficult it is. In the same John 8:46, it was said: “If what I have told you is the truth, then why do you refuse to believe me?” This is the situation of Nigerians, we are like ostrich, we are a nation of pretenders.
“We run away from the truth and we want to believe that somehow, our troubles will just vanish, but it never happened that way, because truth has a way of creating a level plain ground for everybody.”http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/politicians-exploiting-terrorism-for-short-term-political-gains-says-can/196305/

Tell me exactly what you want the Northerners to dohuh Sanusi encouraged his people to arm themselves against Boko Haram, you criticized him, some Northerners tried to broker peace through negotiations / amnesty they were faced with criticism and in the end the FG backed down. Many Islamic clerics whom criticised Boko-Haram are being hacked down; many of the communities being attacked by Boko Haram are being attacked because of the refusal by the community to support or allow Boko Haram to operate in their domain. Youth volunteers under Civilian JTF are putting their lives on the line to support the military. What more can they really dohuh

The question should be what exactly is FG doing? Just early last month Boko-Haram was on the back-foot, but what did FG dohuh They announced a cease-fire that was non-existent. In fact I am suspecting FG knows more about BH.
PoliticsRe: Many Dead As Insurgents Assail Security Formations In Damaturu by JaaizTech: 1:57pm On Dec 01, 2014
lalasticlala:
Multiple explosions suspected to be Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) has rocked Damaturu, the Yobe State capital while sporadic gunshots engulfed the city of troubled Maiduguri on Monday morning living many residents trapped in their houses for fear of their lives.

Damaturu is 135 km West of Maiduguri, Borno State capital.

This is even as another attack at Lassa town of Askira/Uba local government area of Borno state over the week end left 11 residents dead with Churches including the biggest EYN church and many houses burnt down by the Boko Haram sect.

Sources also said during the Lassa attacks, youth vigilante of the area confronted the sect this led to the killing of 41 Boko Haram members and capture of 17.

The fresh morning attack of Today (Monday) which started at about 6am in Damaturu by terrorists were targeted at police and military formations as well as selected houses, a situation that sources said left many people dead.

Reliable source told our Correspondent that “the Police Mobile Base in Damaturu was one of the security formations that came under attack by insurgents”.
“As I am talking to you now, we are in serious confusion now, gunshots and explosions everywhere especially from the southern part of the city and people are fleeing,” said an embattled resident, Mallam Usmanu Iliya.

Another resident who did not want his name mentioned for security reasons said he was woken up by the gunshots and blast which started at about 6am, and he suspects Boko Haram may be attacking.
Another resident who could barely speak as he was panting simply told our reporter that “We are running for our lives…we are under attack… We don’t know where to hide, the shooting is all over….”.

Although, as at press time, the attacks and confrontations by security operatives in Damaturu is still continuing, the actual casualty figure is yet to be ascertained.
Likewise, the sporadic gunshots that woke the residents of Maiduguri according to military sources “were not from Boko Haram sect, but a routine test of arms and ammunitions by security operatives in the state”. Even though, the development puts more fear on the minds of parents send their children to schools, while those who normally go out for work early in the morning could not do so.

Meanwhile, residents of Lassa over the week end reportedly resisted the attack on its community by engaging the attackers with locally made guns, bows and arrows.

Lassa is predominantly a Christian community in Askira Uba council area of Borno state which is under control of Boko Haram sect.

Ali Mamza, a resident of Lassa town and member of the local vigilante group told reporters that,“If we flee today, tomorrow we will continue to flee and these murderer would continue to kill. If we had fled they would have killed many people. I think our decision to fight yielded as it is better that few people were killed than for hundred to be killed. We will continue to encourage ourselves, because they would keep coming, we cannot run any longer.” He said.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/many-dead-insurgents-assail-security-formations/
Issues have disintegrated to the level where you can not ask the people not to arm themselves. What I expect Govt. to do is to manage this vigilante groups, don't just leave them to themselves. Govt. should assign military commanders to manage their operations. The vigilante's shouldn't be seen as an armed group on its on but a volunteer-group willing to assist the military.

I support Mr. President on this one. Sacking coaches has never got us anywhere, I agree with sticking with Keshi. It takes time and persistence to build a good team. What NFF needs to do is to give Keshi the full backing, so that Players will understand that if they don't play well, they would be the ones leaving the team and not the coach.

In the north, the islamic code(Sharia law) supersedes even the Nigerian constitution.
An average northerner is more loyal to sharia law than any other law.
There has even been plans to extend it beyond the north according to #Oneguylikethat.

What does the north want? Sharia law.

What does Bokoharams want? Sharia law to be implemented in full

Why don't we give them a chance.

It seems we don't really know our problem.
This should tell you that BokoHaram is not about Sharia and it is not about Islam. It is about something else, it is only orchestrated to appear like it is about Islam. The north has Sharia already, the north has muslim leadership already, the social life of the average northerner is close to islamic already. Boko Haram is a smoke screen.
