Mee234:Let us be fair and reasonable. How do u expect the refineries to start working after a short time The fact that they are courageous enough to give timelines should be commended. The Kaduna refinery is actually working but producing diesel. If you live in Kaduna it is quite easy to tell when the refinery is working. You will always see the fire burning on the tubes or whatever it is called. |
JaaizTech:I am particularly impressed with the above, it shows that someone is thinking... |
At the end of the day you will find out that there is nothing in this news. And this is much ado about nothing. Probably the panalpina transport company has even collapsed and worths nothinv anymore!. Why would He hide such a meagre and insignificant value of shares ![]() |
All I can say is that some day people will come to know that these pastors are just con-men. The day fowl yansh go open... many like them have passed, it is just a question time. I am worried though with the romance with government, imagine how much of lagos state's money will be doled out by Ambode in the name of thanksgiving, offerings, and tithe. I remember my former boss, paid tithe on company float, while we were not able to get enough funds to run our offices! |
OPCNAIRALAND:Even that may not work. The ring sort of forms a tight grip around the neck of the penis, thereby stopping backflow of blood away from the penis. It physically restricts the backflow of blood which is what causes erection to drop. Anaesthia may not do much against it. |
Not appropriate, not decent, not official. |

Can u imagine the level of decadence, at Hajj Where is the fear of Allah in people again?? |
This is so wrong, that I would have to say I don't believe it happened for real. Sounds like a poor fiction. Hopefully that's what it is. |
Question: Respected scholars, As-Salamu `Alaykum. I am from Turkey, and currently living in Detroit, USA. I am very confused about imsak and fajr. In Turkey, Muslims finish suhoor 15 minutes before fajr. Prayer times I downloaded from the internet do not have imsak. Muslims here finish suhoor at fajr. Which one is right? Jazakum Allahu Khayran. Answer: Wa `alaykum As-Salamu wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger. Dear brother in Islam, thanks a lot for your question, which reflects your care to have a clear view of the teachings of Islam. Allah commands Muslims to refer to people of knowledge to become well acquainted with the teachings of Islam in all aspects of life. First of all, bear in mind that Allah has permitted the fasting person to eat and drink until dawn comes. He, Most High, says: (and eat and drink until the white thread becometh distinct to you from the black thread of the dawn) (Al-Baqarah 2:187) The exact cut-off time for imsak (abstaining from food, drink, etc.) is the time offajr (dawn); so if you ate until that time you did not incur any sin. Most of the time people confuse between the preferred time and the permissible one; the preferred time for imsak, according to scholars, is to finish sahur ten minutes before fajr. In his response to your question, Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a senior lecturer and Islamic scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, states the following, You need not be overly confused about this issue, for it is merely a difference of opinion based on the distinction between what is preferred and what is merely permissible. There is no doubt that the cut-off point for consuming sahur is the arrival of dawn (i.e., fajr time). However, the preferred time for abstention is 10 or 15 minutes earlier than that. The basis for establishing the preferred time of abstention (imsak ) is an authentic tradition from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). One of his Companions narrated the story of takingsahur with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Upon hearing it, someone asked him, "What was the time gap between your sahur and fajr salah?" He replied, "The time required to read fifty verses of the Qur'an." It is estimated that this time can be 10 or 15 minutes and not more. This, therefore, is the basis for the imsak time you are used to in Turkey. However, it must be pointed out that the above mentioned hadith does not state that it is not permissible to consumesahur later than that, for it only states that it was the sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). As for the permissibility of consuming sahur until the arrival of dawn, it has been established by the clear text of the Qur'an: (Eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct from the black thread of night) (Al-Baqarah 2:187) Allah Almighty knows best. |
My take: we have no world class players but very average set of players, and asuch we would need more than a coach that just fields 11 players and throws them in there to just play. A coach that makes direct substitions, when it is obvious it is the system not working and not just the players. We would need a very good coach to make anything out of super eagles. |
Just Imagine how much these guys will pay as Tithes and Thanksgiving !!!. |
Waited earnestly for Iheanacho to be introduced. Yet to see the player I hope He would become. He is not pulling his weight at all. |
Bants:What happened to common sense. Buhari traveling to Niger & Chad is a sign that eliminating BH is top on his agenda. The Nigerian military will not go to Niger to flush out BH nor will they leave our borders and move into Chad. Niger & Chad are our allies in this fight. |
This is totally unprofessional. So SO DISAPPOINTED IN SaharaReporters. This is not how to do it at all... Embarrassing Mugabe in this fashion is tantamount to insulting the entire Zimbabwe |
I don't know why I am afraid this ambode guy may ruin things for us. |
EgusiSoup:I am not sure this has anything to do with APC. But I am seriously irritated, with the way they are turning a serious event to a HipHop show. This is nonsense. In a very serious event such as this, the likes of P Sqaure have no place. I have nothing against them, but this is a Presidential inauguration for the whole country. If we must entertain the guest, then let us entertain them with our own original local music from the more highly respectable artist we have. |
bushdoc9919:I think the question is How come Uba can sell at =N=87 and others cannot. Uba is definitely not subsidising the PMS for Nigerians, He must have received the subsidy or He is very hopeful He will get his subsidy payment. Now if Uba has got his subsidy payment or very hopeful He will, why are the other marketers not so hopeful. Something doesn't add up! |
tuke:GEJ is the fundamental thing that is wrong. He governed for 5 years, No improvement in Power, No improvement in fuel. That says it all |
Intendy:GEJ is just tryinv to gain western support to guarantee a soft landing 4 him. Buruji is the 1st sacrificial lamb. Perhaps more to come. I for see GEJ decamping to APC. |
MadCow1:Don't get it twisted. Zuckerberg, Gates etc are celebrated for their achievements. what are Umar Nasko's achievements . See his professional profile. PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE: Chief of Staff to the Governor of Niger State, Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Environment, Parks, Gardens, and Forest Resources, Niger State Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Youth Development, Niger State, Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Niger State, Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Niger State, Member, Niger State Executive Council, Special Adviser, Tourism Matters, Niger State, Chairman, Local Organizing Committee for the National Festival on Arts and Culture, Chairman, Committee on Vehicle Verification, Niger State, Member, Technical Committee on Harmonization, Niger State, Member, Committee on Public and Private Partnership, Niger State, Member, Transition Committee, Niger State, Managing Director, Madae & Sons Limited, Project Manager, Fathibro Ventures Nigeria Limited, Abuja, Assistant Secretary, Senate Committee on Drugs, Narcotics, Financial Crimes, Volunteer, United Nations Human Rights Office, Krakow, Poland, Sky Guard, 311 Air Defence Artillery Detachments, Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja A life as a Government appointee!, and yet such a lavish lifestyle and you want that kind of a guy to become Governor!!!. I know his father is rich, perhaps also from stolen wealth as former Military Administrator of Sokoto State & former FCT minister. This guy is a practical example of a person that should never be voted for. |
kristisking:Sanusi is an Emir!; He visited and dined with GEJ even after their differences; had GEJ won, Sanusi would have gone to congratulate him. That's what Emirs, Obas etc do. Besides who told u Sanusi was ever a politician or a card carrying member of any party Or is it just another figment of your imagination. |
i said it in 2011, a vote for GEJ is a waste of another 4 years. 4 years ago, this scarcity was there, 4 years ago we were importing fuel. 4 years after the story is still the same and may be even worse. Don't let me talk about power... |
Dragonking:Men, one shouldn't take seriiusly the many posts on Nairaland. Can't believe people can't read and understand just these few paragraphs This judgement is a hogwash, the judge should be jailed, He simply said Michael Igbinedion could walk away with the 25billion after paying a 3 million naira fine!!! |
mmsen:This is one issue that can be argued from several points of view. The idea that the higher the population the lower the wealth per head a nation would have is a very simplistic view of how the world works. Several European countries and the USA, have tried to shore up their population (even though they target skilled labour) through different schemes such as Visa lotteries and the likes. Ireland is also a very good example of a country trying to shore up her population. Now, using China as a case study, the country with the largest world population, and at a time it did seem to make sense for them to try to limit their population. Now guess where that got them: They ended up with a rapidly aging society and shrinking labor force. What is China doing now China is trying to shore up her population by giving incentives to parents in order to encourage them to have a 2nd child. That's where china is today!!!. Now, Nigeria as a case study. Why is a large part of our population living below poverty line We are too many we are too corrupt we are too stupid . I would take the last 2. And the reason is simple: Check out the top 10 countries with the Highest world population: China, India, USA, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Russia, Japan. Now Check out the top 10 richest economies in 2014 : USA, China, Japan, Germany, France, UK, Brazil, Italy, Russia, India. Of these top 10, 6 of them have the world's largest population. If I were to consider the world's smallest nations, they would rank no where. Population is an advantage and should mean more wealth, but when a nation is as corrupt as we are, we can't be rich even if had Qatar's populaton with all our wealth, we would still be poor. Now talking as a Muslim, Allah says in Quran 17 verse 31: " And do not kill your children for fear of poverty: We give them sustenance and yourselves (too): surely to kill them is a great wrong.". This verse was revealed at a time the Arabs used to kill their male children for fear they would not be able to provide sustenance for them, Allah reminded them that it is He Allah who provides for them both |
Change2015:GBAM. this is where we stand. |
Redman44:Ok lets give him kudos for this. But can we also give him the deserved sticks in the areas He has failed woefully: 1) Corruption: Corruption has grown geometrically under GEJ's watch, infact He endorsed corruption with many of his utterances. 2) Fuel: GEJ's policy on the refineries, has seen us getting in and out of fuel crisis. Refineries can function (at least that of Kaduna), but for corrupt reasons they just don't. The whole subsidy thing is a web of scams. Nutshell, can't say we have made any meaningful progress n that sector. 3) Economy: The economy is about to crash, yes Crude Oil prices crashed and of course there should be consequences; but also for the better part of GEJ's tenure crude oil prices were well higher 30 -40$ above the benchmark set by he Nigerian Government. Where did the savings go 4) Excess Reserve: Our reserves that were suppose to act as a shock absorber should financial emergencies arise has been plummeted. For what?? 5) Fraudulent Security compromise: Of what business is a militant (Tompolo) being awarded a billion dollar contract to secure Nigeria's water-ways. What was the outcome of sch a dubious contract of course more of our crude oil is stolen. Like a man that never learns, He has also awarded a similar contract to OPC ? Doesn't that sound like a man equipping militant groups so as to destroy this country![]() 6) Boko-Haram: GEJ preferred to allow BH reign, so as to score cheap points against the north, e sacrificed the lives of thousands for political gains, well it backfired. His attempt to mend the situation saw a BH that was reigning for 6 years being seriously wiped out in 6weeks. What that tells a discerning mind is that: we always had the capability to kick out BH, it was the will that was lacking. 7) POWER: What can I say about Power; as far as I am concerned I have not got anything better than I got 6 years ago; infact at the moment power is worse. Privatising PHCN is not an achievement to me, they sold PHCN to their cronies and are still grappling with it. In a nutshell very little progress was made with power. Now, tell me why I shouldn't vote him out ![]() |
omobaba101:Regardless of the card reader failures, it is still the way to go. Card readers are the best way to ensure a free and fairer election. INEC has also provided an alternative to the readers, so no need to fret. Things would get better, JEGA has paid the price for a good beginning. |
Well, if elections can be postponed till tomorrow, then I will advise INEC ensures they sought out card reader issues, and make everyone that have done manual voting come back to use the card reader. Card readers are the right way to go, we have to keep trying till we overcome the challenges. |
ManMountain:Well, that has been the major deciding factor in Nigeria's election. Take out GEJ from the Presidency for a single day and He would struggle to even win a gubernatorial seat in Bayelsa. |
Nctrice:The PDP is scared of fair-play; without PVC all PDP needs to do in the worst case scenario is keep a close eye on the voting figures of APC, do the maths and add the additional votes necessary. PVC would make that more difficult now but not impossible. PDP still has a very good shot at this election, but the problem is there is also a realistic chance they lose it and that is what frightens them, the realistic possibility that they can lose it. A similitude is when Floyd Mayweather avoided fighting Manny Pacquiao; Floyd can definitely beat Pacquaio, but Pacquaio also has a good chance of beating him; Floyd avoided that fight just as PDP is trying to avoid an APC contest. Now they both need retirement package, hence they can risk it. |
bencobenz:I think the turnout will be lesser. There was a lost of drive to vote in 2011, and mass rigging that saw some states having relatively high voter's turnout. This is likely to be mitigated by the PVC, I expect the PVC to drop the supposed large no. of voter's turnout by at least 30%. The election will surely be very close this time around. In 2011, the top 10 states for PDP was: Rivers, Imo, Delta, Lagos, Kaduna, Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Plateau. Of this top 10, APC has increased support in 5 of them i.e: Rivers, Imo, Lagos, Kaduna, Plateau. |
The fact that they are courageous enough to give timelines should be commended. The Kaduna refinery is actually working but producing diesel. If you live in Kaduna it is quite easy to tell when the refinery is working. You will always see the fire burning on the tubes or whatever it is called.
