http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5594020-146/four_die_in_religious_violence_.csp Violence between Christians and Muslims in Taraba state has resulted in bloodshed leaving at least four people dead, a police official said. Taraba State Police Commissioner, Aliyu Musa said the killings started on Tuesday in the community of Bukari after Christian youth became angry over the location of a mosque. He told The Associated Press on Wednesday that a group of young people burned down the mosque, which caused a counterattack by Muslims. Sources said security agents intervened this morning eventually restoring calm to the community. Violence between Christians and Muslims in neighbouring Plateau state earlier this year left a trail of dead bodies in its wake. |
And to think President Jonathan would have killed the dreams of these girls when He decided to ban Nigeria from all international football competitions. I hope all those who supported the decision then, are beginning to see how stupid a decision it was. |
informatix:My brother; I weak o!. I was stunned when I read the news o!; I live in Kaduna too, omo I no hear anything like this o; And I trust my colleagues at work, this kind of news would spread across to everybody; in fact we would have been told to close work early the day it supposedly happened. But for sure this one happen, and for sure it never makes headlines: Christian Youths attack MUslims in Taraba; Brought down an almost completed Mosque http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5594020-146/four_die_in_religious_violence_.csp Violence between Christians and Muslims in Taraba state has resulted in bloodshed leaving at least four people dead, a police official said. VPersie:Avoiding marriage is not the solution, fornication / adultery is definitely a sin, And to build one's life on fornication will definitely be disastrous. I don't know what experiences you have, but Marriage isn't all about sorrow, I am married and I am enjoying every bit of it, I pray things never change, you can have a good marriage, only that as time goes on you are likely to desire an adventure (another woman); and this doesn't mean the love for your wife will diminish. I am one of those that believe you can love 2 different women sincerely at the same time. I think women need to understand the dynamics of the sexual / emotional / romantic desires of a man, they need to stop living in fool's paradise and come to terms with reality. And I don't believe it is exactly the same for women, women's sexual drive greatly diminishes as they age, but a man's own slightly diminishes even at 100 years old. |
Firstly, let me say after reading through all comments, I can say most posters are not married. And yes the christian marital vow is difficult to uphold infact almost impossible to uphold. But people to ashamed to come out to say the truth; I can boldly say 90% of men can't maintain a single sexual relationship for more that 15 years, they are bound to cut corners; The reasons are simple: outside indiscipline, men want spontaneity, adventure and unpredictability. Something that will be very difficult for one woman to continue to provide over an extended period of time. We just need to come to terms with reality and stop deceiving ourselves. This is not to say one cannot have a happy married life; definitely there is nothing as good as a good wife, it comes with his challenges and they are summontable. It is that sex part that is really the issue, and promiscuity, and bad dressing being permitted in our society today is not helping matters. |
I just can't imagine GJ having to take more complex political / economic decisions; I can't just imagine it. This is a complete "No-Brainer" |
Hi Dr. Balogun; Pls. advise me on the use of YOYO bitters; I have read a lot of wonderful commentaries on the efficacy of YOYO bitters, but I have also heard doctors telling people to be cautious. Secondly, what is the best sex enhancement medicine I can use; none as ever worked for me; I would prefer something local, I do not have any dysfunction, I am performing fairly well; I just want to improve my performance |
opribo:I wonder why this pronouncement is generating so much comments, even though Prostitution is not legal in the country, there is nothing wrong in the FCT minister making so more efforts to exterminate it in Abuja. To you it may not be important, but I am sure if we are really interested in reducing STDs, vices etc that is the way to go. The whole world is so hypocritical, they turn a blind eye to prostitution and instead encourage the proliferation of condoms. Prostitutes are one of the major agents` of spread of HIV. But they are hardly high-lighted, instead WHO prefers to use the term "multiple-Sex partners" instead of emphasizing the role of commercial sex workers. |
emmydee:Signs that the end of the World is near. His Daughter!. I concur death by hanging at least. unless He is found to be mentally unstable. |
tkb417:And when the Yawa gases you will see a rain of abuses on Muslims, Fulani / Hausa & Islam on this same forum. Only very few have condemned this attack; some are even encouraging it!. This was how the last attack by the Fulanis started. Thank God it was even reported because stories like this usually go unreported. Note:The news didn't come across as Christian Beroms murdered Muslim Fulani; but if the case was the reverse what the headlines would have been is: Fulani Muslims go on Killing rampage or it would have been painted as another Religious crisis. I do not believe it is a Religious crisis; because even the Herdsmen are more traditionalists than even practicing Muslims; they seldomly pray; and use a lot of charms. |
http://www.channelstv.com/global/news_details.php?nid=19012&cat=Local Police Equipment Fraud: Kenny Martins Remanded again The troubles of the former Chairman of the Police Equipment Foundation (PEF), Chief Kenny Martins may be far from over as a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on May, Thursday 20 ordered that he be remanded in prison custody following the withdrawal of one his sureties, Mr. Ade Jacobs. Ruling on the application for withdrawal of the bail bond signed by Mr. Ade Jacobs, Justice Adamu Bello said a surety has the right to withdraw without attaching any condition and the court cannot compel any surety to be tied to a bail bond. Justice Bello subsequently granted the application and discharged Mr. Ade Jacobs of the bond he entered into. The court also ordered the return of all documents submitted by Mr. Jacobs. Lawyer representing the applicant, Mr. Abdulrahman Abubakar told the court that his client was simply dissatisfied standing as a surety for Chief Kenny Martins. The order of the court was however unpalatable for the lawyer representing Martins, Chief Johny Ucheaga as he made frantic efforts to convince the court to allow his client go home since the second surety has not withdrawn his bail bond. The prosecutor, Mister Thompson Olatigbe immediately asked for a date to enable the prosecution commence trial against Chief Martins. With the order of the court, the former chairman of the police equipment foundation who is standing trial for alleged criminal diversion of funds belonging to the foundation may have to remain in prison custody until he secures another surety. |
The World is coming to an end. Anyways since the world wants freedom of everything; then this is what they would get. Make no mistake about it; it is coming back to hunt us; I pray I won't be part of the destruction. Amin Ya Allahu. |
vizion:Cecilia Ibru and Erastus Akingbola are rogues; they robbed investors and depositors of their money. They mismanaged the trust placed on them. Sanusi came; kicked them out and got EFCC to investigate them. Why is that so difficult to swallow. Ask yourself: "Was it fair to kick these guys out of office" ; Did the former CEOs commit any financial crimes These are the issues; forget the sentiments. |
mojojojo:@mojojojo; the truth is that the sensible ones on this forum will agree with you; the Ethnic-Bias ones either do not understand How things work or just decide to turn a Blind eye to the truth. May be we should remind them that they should go the Career pages of Institutions and check what their most important requirements are: Definitely foremost is Working Experience. Besides I thought this discussion was about Sanusi's reforms and not his personality but I guess they could not fault his reforms hence they ran away and started dwelling on his personality. I have challenged all "Anti-Sanusis" many posts ago to propose a better approach than what Sanusi did; given all what the CEOs did and status of the banks at the time. But none have responded yet!!TUFIAKA |
paddy_lo:I picked it from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanusi_Lamido_Sanusi#Birth_and_education ). I really don't want to dwell on his Educational qualifications; like I said earlier. The Crunch of the Matter is his reforms. Lets face the crunch of the matter if you were the CBN Governor what would you have done Lets see what other better options Sanusi had. No need to malign Sanusi just come up with a better approach. You may use part of this as background study:https://img121.imageshack.us/img121/6682/africareport.jpg https://img513.imageshack.us/img513/179/afrireport.jpg |
naijaking1:I do not see any concrete proof to back your allegations. Anyways we have moved away from that. Forget about the personality Sanusi; lets look at his reforms which are actually the Crunch of the Matter. Pls tell us what should He have done Instead ![]() |
PapaBrowne:Lets face the crunch of the matter if you were the CBN Governor what would you have done Lets see what other better options Sanusi had. No need to malign Sanusi just come up with a better approach. |
naijaking1:Honestly, that is the part I don't understand!. Our threshold for corruption is too high in this country. Ok to all those Anti-Sanusi Lamido posters. Please tell us what other better approach Sanusi should have taken. PLs. educate us. Just for the records Sanusi Lamido has a Masters degree in Economics with years of experience at top management level in some of the Biggest banks in the Country. |
naijaking1:Let me help with your fraudulent Analogy. The Banks were sick; (this was also diagnosed by the "africareport" earlier before Sanusi ): Sanusi goes ahead to find the cause of the illness or symptoms. He discovered that the CEOs / MDs of those banks have actually been robbing the Depositor's and investor's. They have been making use of their deposits without following banking ethics; they have exposed them unduely to the Stock Market and all sorts of malpractices to the detriment of the Bank; Most importantly they continually lied about their yearly Profits and growth.(They were actually in a big financial mess waiting to explode, ). What does Sanusi do?? Firstly; He decides to kick out these rogues and get them to pay for their crimes in the law court (Isn't this what we 've all be clamouring for!!! that EFCC should put all the rogues behind the bar!); Sanusi does not stop there; He goes ahead to inject funds in these banks to ensure they don't collapse. The Result: The affected banks survive an impending collapse, Bank Debtors who had hitherto refused to pay back their loans started paying back; and the bad side: jobs were lost . My question to you my learned friends is: How did Sanusi's reforms kill the Banks All He did was to remove their CEOs and their Co-looters; He even went ahead to pump money into the Banks. Are you saying that should Cecilia Ibru or Erastus Akingbola suddenly falls ill and die these banks too will suddenly collapse!!. The Answer is: These Banks were already in a Mess before Sanusi; they were only hiding it; and they could have only done that for so long; had Sanusi not intervened we would have woken one morning and suddenly hear over the Radio that all our savings / investments are gone. |
naijaking1:What is wrong with having a masters in Islamic Studies I don't think you would consider your pastor a "dumb Brain" if He decides to bag a masters in theology. Learn to look at issues objectively.Sanusi Lamido didn't just come from no where to become the CBN governor: In 1985 Sanusi joined Icon Limited (Merchant Bankers), a subsidiary of Morgan Guaranty Trust Bank of New York, and Baring Brothers of London. He moved to the United Bank for Africa in 1997 in the Credit and Risk Management Division, rising to the position of a General Manager. In September 2005, he joined the Board of First Bank of Nigeria as an Executive Director in charge of Risk and Management Control, and was appointed Group Managing Director (CEO) in January 2009. He was also the Chairman, Kakawa Discount House and sat on the Board of FBN Bank (UK) Limited. Sanusi is recognized in the banking industry for his contribution towards developing a Risk Management culture in the Nigerian banking sector. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanusi_Lamido_Sanusi ) Sanusi has presented papers at dozens of academic fora on several continents, and many of his papers have been published in academic journals, books and newspapers. ( http://allafrica.com/stories/200912160227.html ) If not for bias for the North or hatred for the North; I do not see any reason why any sensible person would be blaming Sanusi for his reforms!. What has He done Sanusi came and kicked out the MDs of some banks that have been found wanting in their managerial role. They embezzled and mismanaged depositor's and ordinary investor's money (not different from what the common thief does).Secondly; Sanusi injected funds into these banks that were in a financial mess; it is also worthy to recall; that before Sanusi came onboard it was already published in the Africa report that some Nigerian banks are weak; but Soludo of course lied to us and denied it. What happened in the banking industry is an indication that the system was in a bad mess before Sanusi came but they were shielding it from us; had Sanusi not intervened at the time He did; perhaps the system would have suddenly collapsed and depositors would have been the biggest losers. |
donspony:This is not an issue of "Islam" per say but the internal politics in Kaduna. However; it is only understandable that the Muslims / Hausa would prefer a Muslim Governor over a christian Governor just the same way the Catholic Igbos in Enugu / Anambra prefer a Catholic Governor to an Anglican (and Vice-versa) and definitely they would never accept a Muslim Governor even if He were to fall from heaven. Whichever way, there is no excuse for violence and I don't think there would be violence as long as the Government does not rig elections, does not allow evil perpetrators to spread rumours or exploit the mistrust between the people of Kaduna-South and Kaduna-North. (This is directed to all northerners in this Forum: You all need to resolve amongst yourselves that you would do everything you can to encourage Education amongst your people. I live in the North and it is sad to see the high level of uneducated youth; no Nation or group of people will grow without growth in Human Capacity. Islam does not forbid western Education as it is evident in the South-West where the best/most knowledgeable Muslims are those with western Education.) |
OAM4J:1 - 0 to Jonathan; Ibori next on the line. I am loving this Jonathan guy; Keep axing everybody on your way and don't forget Maurice Iwu. |
Sagamite:That tells you it is acceptable in our own clime. I live in Kaduna and I have never raised an eyebrow about that. |
Johnnny:Don't be too happy about the development. Note: it was said He would be repatriated to the UK; of course they can't prosecute him there. He should have been deported to Nigeria as soon as He was caught. I smell a rat here.It is easier for him to get legal judgements in his favour in the UK against his detention than He would in Nigeria. I am sure Jonathan has a personal issue with him, and would definitely deal with him if deported back to Naija |
Sagamite:Men, Some of you guys are unbelievable. Similar things happen in other states too |
na_so:Firstly, I must say alot of guys on this forum are unreasonably bias. Had it been the reverse people would have been screaming the North wants to dominate us o!; or they would have even alleged the North must have killed the President. We must be objective in our analyses. Secondly; I think the Northern PDP caucus would have to compromise and try to work out an arrangement with Jonathan; I feel Jonathan's plight; He definitely can't come back as a Vice-President (That would be embarrassing) and should He lose this opportunity of becoming President; He may never have the opportunity again in his life. I also understand the concern of the North; The PDP sat down and drafted a constitution that will to a greater extent ensure stability by allowing both regions a fair share of the National Cake; and all of sudden mid way into the Game the South wants to change the rules!; Common lets be fair; they have got raise eyebrows. Thirdly; Concerning the stupid; inconsiderate and naive comments some people are making about Jonathan picking a Northern Vice-President. Since the days of the Military, We have always had a Northern and Southern pair in the Vice-President and President sit. Shagari&Alex Ekueme; Abacha & Diya; Obasanjo & Atiku; Yar'adua & Jonathan; Buhari & Idiagbon etc. So why should it be different now; and I don't think any of you would like it should a northern President come to power and also bring along a Northern V.P |
stuffs4me:Well, I can only say one thing for sure PDP will not win Kaduna in the next election should the Southern Kaduna candidate run for Governorship. But my fear is; if they should rig it there might be problem o.I hope they know what they are doing sha. Northern Kaduna indigenes are significantly more than Southern Kadunas; He can never amass the votes without rigging. |
Sagamite:I am loving this; I Pray Ibori is hammered with the full weight of the law. The most interesting thing is watching how all these thieves are knocking one and other out of the way. Jonathan should not make the mistake and think we have all forgotten about the Money He stole and His wife Patience tried to launder for him. Of course the matter was quenched when He became vice-president; but there will surely be "Pay-Back" time. I am waiting for OBJ's turn |
sholasho:Wish I could have done that; anytime I am filling down I listen or read the Quran; I pray two Ra'kah of Salah; brother I tell you it is healing. Islam gives the solution to all problems; from making Isti'arah when you are confused to sleeping on your right side and reading Ayatul Kurisiyu to avoid bad dreams. I just wish I was a better Muslim |
gentlegg:Same Bible cleansed George Bush who has killed more innocent civilians than Bin Laden would ever dream of; Same Bible cleansed Adolph Hitler; Same Bible that Cleansed Harry Truman the American President that bombed Hiroshima; Same Bible that Cleansed Slobodan Milosevic that killed thousands of Bosnian Muslims; Also the Bible that inspired the Killing of notable Scientist: Galileo; Giordano Bruno; whom was burn on the stake;Socrates etc I can go on and On; but really it is not worth it. |
Bastage:I pray you don't die in this state; The beginning of the existence of God is beyond human comprehension; so trying to find a logical answer for you will never be possible; it is beyond physics, I'll dig out more signs / indications of a master creator and perhaps you may start to see the light. Give me some time, ; |
