May Allah destroy you and your Jamaat. You have brought nothing but shame on Islam and indeed you are liars. Because of your false beliefs and devilish actions you have incurred insults on Islam and the noble prophet. May all your followers and wrongful sympathizers face the wrath of Allah and be completely destroyed. |
I think we all should stop sweeping up this North VS South thing; ATIKU is just one man and not the whole of North, PDP is just one of the many other parties. Almost all PDP Northern Governors have come behind Jonathan to support him, but yet we keep criticising the North. In the past, the North have shown that they can come behind a man that is not from their region, like they did in the case of Obasanjo and Abiola. Abiola defeated Bashir Tofa in his native state Kano, so the idea that the average northerner wants the north to remain in perpetual power is a fallacy; many leaders of the north have betrayed the north and so have many of our leaders betrayed us too.Lets all start looking at personalities and forget regionalism; forget ATIKU, forget PDP, they have always rigged to remain power in anyways; so why are we killing ourselves over PDP. It is also sad, to see that support for GEJ is based on sentiment rather than merit; lets look beyond regions and look forward to voting the right man, the chances of a free and fair election is brighter than ever, we shouldn't waste this opportunity. |
Omo Naija is finished. This country is just been torn apart by corruption; and to think we have these foreign nations meddling in matters primarily for their own interest ? We must be in hot soup. Only God knows what else has been happening that we don't know. Did I read something like US offering technical assistance to wipe off DDC machine memory![]() |
WAIT FOR IT, Someone will suddenly come up with a theory about how the North is responsible for all this. I thought there were no militants again I thought all that MEND bombing is a facade May God save Nigeria |
Thanks man, will look them up |
omojand:Thanks for all the info. I have checked Imperial and even that cost is prohibitive for me. I have been looking up Edinburgh Business school, but I do not have enough information as to the value of their certificate internationally. If you know anything about Edinburgh Business School, pls let me know. Secondly, there is this fuss about distance learning, (the lack of face to face contact and the absence of an avenue to make contacts with important fellow students across the globe); how serious is this factor from your own perspective considering that my aim is to put myself in a better position in the career world. |
I am considering undertaking an MBA program in a UK university, my preferred method is Distance Learning because of personal constraints. I plan investing a large chunk of my savings, and really want to get value for my money. I need advice (from guys with first hand experience or information) on what Business school offers the best programs at the most affordable price. I am very much interested in schools whose graduates enjoy much patronage from international organisations. |
happy eid mubarak to you all |
ismaeel86:KPOM; Ismail do not mind them I understand your point perfectly; The poster intended to spite Muslims and not ask any question in particular. Why is He making such a huge generalisation, because He is dating just one hausa girl in Kano. If He really intended getting answers to his questions, He could have easily asked the girl. Perhaps He (Poster) has a bad breath!!!; might have been her response. "@Everybody; we all need to be careful with the way we attack each others religion, ethnicity etc. either directly or indirectly, because we may be gradually breeding hatred for ourselves in our heart. Otherwise why would such a senseless post attract so much comment, if not that a lot people are excited and would jump at every opportunity to paint Muslims and Northerners BLACK. We all need to learn to respect other people's values rather than trying to rubbish it, the Hausa have their values and we have ours. Lets leave at that. |
Beaf:Firstly, I am a southerner, thoroughbred lagos boy; I see your arguments but I don't see the correlation; firstly, you talk about the North's contribution to the workforce as if the workforce in Nigeria is inadequate; lack of workforce isn't our problem. Are there enough jobs for the capable workforce we have now Are there enabling environment plus infrastructure for we southerners who passed through several levels of education to actually create jobs.Yes, the North is not half as educated as we are; yes they recognize that is a problem for them to face, and NO, they are not doing enough. But to say the problem of Nigeria is as a result of poor education in the North is utter rubbish. Tell me what the excellent education in the south has put on the table for the south; if not the glory of the Niger-Delta oil we are all living on. And there are brilliant Northerners doing well for the whole country: Aliko Dangote, Dantata (Dantata & Sawoe);Chanchagi, Rahmaniyya; the El-Rufais, Sanusi Lamido, Rilwan Lukman have all shown some brilliance. So stop talking about the North as if all there is to the north is Al-majiris. We have worse area boys and worse security threats down south. People in the South-East live under constant threat of insecurity, ask any of the telecommunication companies or contractors what they face when working on any site in the south and what they face when working in the North ![]() |
lolatom: Beaf:Pls. clear you mind or your head and listen to yourself. What sense does all this make to you The solution to Nigeria's problem is educating the North Ok. Lets take it bit by bit; I assume you a southerner and you live somewhere in the south-west, lets say Ogun state. Pls kindly explain how the poor level of education in the North has affected the performance of your Governor or your commissioners . Pls. explain further, how the lack of education in the North or how a northern policy has affected power in the last ten years, has affected poor roads in your community, or lack pipe-borne water etc.So stop all this hate preaching; a lot of you preaching this division are not from the Niger-Delta, but assume that when the issue of splitting comes, Nigeria will split to North and South(including Niger Delta); so you all feel taken care of. All of us are enjoying the Niger-delta oil and not only the Northerners; The North is not the problem of any region in this country, is it the North that told Alamiesegha, Ibori, to embezzle their people's money or is it the North that told Obasanjo to rig elections in all the south-western states Is it the North that is sponsoring the robbery in the South-east . Is it the North that told your Governors not to bring developments to your states Why do we talk about the North, like one GHOST STATE.![]() |
namfav:These are new times; the World might be undergoing a new revolution. I expect to see a lot changes in the next 2 decades. |
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11617091 Italian seaside town planning miniskirt ban The dress code would ban everything from miniskirts to low-cut jeans A seaside city in Italy is planning to ban miniskirts and other revealing clothing to improve what the mayor calls standards of public decency. Castellammare di Stabia is trying to be the latest location in Italy to make use of new powers to crack down on what is deemed to be anti-social behaviour. Mayor Luigi Bobbio said the regulations would help "restore urban decorum and facilitate better civil co-existence". Offenders would face fines of between 25 ($35) and 500 euros ($696). 'Right decision' "Nothing too revealing" is the new policy Mayor Bobbio wants to enforce, says the BBC's Duncan Kennedy in Rome. That means a tough new dress code which would effectively outlaw everything from miniskirts to low-cut jeans when people walk around Castellammare di Stabia, our correspondent adds. Mr Bobbio, from the centre-right People of Freedom party, says he wants to target people who are "rowdy, unruly or simply badly behaved". There will also be a ban on sunbathing, playing football in public places, and blasphemy, if the proposals are approved at a council meeting on Monday. "I think it's the right decision," a local parish priest, Don Paulo Cecere, told the Cronache di Napoli newspaper. "It's also a way of combating the rise in sexual harassment." Castellammare di Stabia is latest city to make use of the extra powers handed down by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's government to mayors, in the effort to fight crime and confront anti social behaviour. In other places they have banned sandcastles, kissing in cars, feeding stray cats, wooden clogs and the use of lawn mowers at weekends. |
Sagamite:Here is the first paragraph; A Nigerian high court has dismissed a case brought by a 26-year-old woman who says her father forced her to marry a senator. The judge said her human rights had not been violated and it was a matrimonial matter for an Islamic court. where does it say that Shariah court is above the HIGH court ? Or where does it say that the Judge wants Shariah court to be superior to the High court![]() It is either your malicious intents has blurred your sense of reasoning or you are just damn ignorant about law matters. I'll clear the air for you either way; All the judgement means is that the law suit wasn't suppose to be brought to that court, it should have been initiated from the Shariah court since the purported marriage took place under shariah law. A similitude to this will be taking an disputed election case to the High court for first hearing; it'll definitely be referred back to the ELECTION TRIBUNAL. Lastly, the lady could have easily walked out of the marriage; all she needed to have done is to file her case at the Shariah court and the marriage would have been annulled. But NO; her lawyers who should know better wanted to chop her money first. |
Sagamite:Why is it so hard to be objective. Where did they mention the girl's age you want to play the card of "marriage to a minor" . No one is saying forceful marriage is acceptable, but my point is don't try to drag shariah / Muslim into the mud, because one man chose to marry out his daughter against her wish. This happens in the south a lot too, |
Ileke-IdI:kindly explains how it affects the Nigeria courts Are you saying the judge's judgement was compromised or what exactly is your grouse Secondly, because of your malicious intents you intentionally didn't post the full contents. "LEADERSHIPWEEKEND gathered further that the federal lawmaker may have divorced Ms Mayana long before the case was thrown out at the Sokoto High court. Senator Ya'u is the chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Governments." |
Mr Duerulu:Firstly I must say a lot of people are more interested in taking a swipe at Islam / Shariah than making objective comments about the issue. Definitely it is unislamic to marry out a lady against her wish. One of the fundamentals of marriage in Islam is the woman's consent. That said, it is not uncommon to find parents fix-up their children or reject their daughter's choice of husband. This happens for both tribal and religious reasons and it is definitely unacceptable; but not as alien as a lot of people are making it to sound (I guess because this has to do with Muslims & Northerners). I think people need to back out from attacking shariah at the slightest opportunity; Shariah is for Muslims and Muslims alone; non-muslims need to respect that; it is our wish to live a certain way and I think it is only polite to accept us for what we are. Lastly what is the source of this news ? |
I came across this Time Magazine article of Friday, Sep. 17, 1965 (just 5 yrs after independence) and because it invoked the million dollar where-did-we-go-wrong question, I thought should share, (curled from a friend's post on facebook, and thought I should share too, it made me sad though). https://img691.imageshack.us/img691/175/nigeriamillionaires.png For full reading:http://www.time.com/time/printout/0,8816,842145,00.html |
KILL HIM; that is the only worthy punishment |
Something tells me GEJ is going to get his hands soiled. In fact, I fear the FG will be doing all it can to extradite Henry back to Nigeria, where they can control whatever happens. It seems to me, that Henry has something to nail GEJ, and He might play the card when pushed to the wall |
http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5628394-146/exclusive_okah_calls_next__.csp EXCLUSIVE: Okah calls NEXT > By Ayo Okulaja and Cheta Nwanze October 8, 2010 05:12PM print email A man purporting to be Henry Okah has called NEXT, saying it is important to set the record straight. In a telephone interview from a South African number, the man said government’s efforts to discredit the Al-Jazeera interview is what partly prompted his call to NEXT. In order to authenticate his identity, the man asked for, by name, some of the NEXT reporters Mr. Okah had spoken with in the past. When asked how it is possible for him to make phone calls from jail, he replied: “this is a civilised country. I can make calls anytime I want to. I am aware of efforts by the federal government to debunk my phone conversation with Al-Jazeera as a hoax, and to dispel this, I am going to talk to the BBC and CNN tomorrow.” The presidency had raised doubts about the previous interview reportedly granted to Al Jazeera by Okah. They also completely dismissed allegations that a presidential aide had asked Mr. Okah to implicate Northerners in the Abuja bombings. The phone call to NEXT, which lasted for five minutes, followed a telephone interview with Azuka, the wife of the former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Henry Okah. During that chat, she promised to get in touch with her husband and arrange an interview. A few minutes later, our phone rang, and the caller introduced himself as Mr. Okah. He reaffirmed the accusation made in the Al-Jazeera interview - that an official of the presidency did ask to him to exonerate MEND on the Abuja bombings and blame Northerners - but refused to divulge the identity of the official. He did, however, say he saved a text message from the official. He read out the purported text message: “Please, reach out to MEND and ask them to retract the statement and the government will blame the Northern elements.” NEXT asked if his phones were not seized by the South African authorities, and he responded: “I have saved the message on another phone. Shortly after I got the text message, Dopkesi (IBB’s campaign manager) was arrested. I will not release the message now because if I do, the next thing they will say is that someone/IBB has paid him to do this. As they continue to sour my name the more, I will release the message.” When asked if he was directly or remotely involved in the bombings in Abuja, he replied in the negative. For detailed interview, news, and analysis on Abuja bombing, MEND, and the Niger Delta, get a copy of NEXT on Sunday. Back |
1 United:No. I don't think it is all she has laboured for in her life that is being listed. It is just some of it; perhaps the ones she couldn't account for or the ones directly linked to her illicit business practices. Lets call a spade a spade. Why do you think MDS in GTB, Diamond, first Bank etc are all culpable Any evidences or is it just based on mere conjectures?? And even if they were does that make her less deserving of a higher jail term . It is a bitter pill to swallow I know. Just accept it. Case dismiss. |
Sagamite: invisible!:What good intentions ? Are you saying that because there many thieves walking freely on Nigerian road; then any thief caught should be let go . It is not a question of being too rich, it is a question of twisting the books to her own advantage; she used depositors money illegally to her advantage, she lied about the status of the bank while she was milking it dry. Can you imagine what would have happened to millions of Nigerians that were banking with Oceanic had CBN let this go on till the bank crashes under her own weight ?This was what happened to SGBN; Saraki was milking the bank for his own gain, CBN tuned a blind eye and depositors were the ones that suffered. |
Isn't this just wickedness and obsessive avarice. All that Billions ?!!! She could have bought over Liverpool if she wanted to.She kept acquiring shares of Oceanic Bank under many different accounts; obviously she knew what she was doing. Simply put it; she was using Bank depositor's money like her personal money. |
kafanchan:Why are you living in denial; you know deep in your mind that she stole; that she can be classified as a thief; and yet you allow sentiments to becloud your judgement. Perhaps she goes to your church or she is your church member, that shouldn't make you lose your objectivity. For God sake the Woman pleaded Guilty (She accepted she did it, but reached an agreement with EFCC in order to receive a softer punishment). May be some of you don't even know, she might not be spending those 6 months in jail, but in Reddington Hospital; that was the Judge's ruling that she should proceed to Reddington Hospital because of Her Health conditions (which are probably fake) I know when Erastus Akingbola gets his judgement, Redeem Church worshippers will whip up the same sentiments. |
Sounds fair to me. Afterall you were paying Hitv 6k, for just football alone |
Raymond Dokpesi is an intelligent man; A first class degree holder. Actually He was the best graduating student in Poland for 50 years in Marine Engineering. He has shown his managerial skills in managing a couple of companies successfully. Raymond comes across as one of those people IBB invested in, to help multiply his loot. Perhaps Adenuga is another one. Don't be surprised at the kind of people who will support IBB, Gbenga Daniel is another one, John Momoh of channels might be another one. Why do you guys think IBB is so confident, the man is very crafty and intelligent. I am afraid He may have worked this out well, I think we will know very soon; the PDP primaries will determine how strong He and Jonathan is. I am really waiting to see who wins that ticket. The PDP delegates will jumping for joy, they may be bought over with billions of Naira. |
Well, Victor Ikpeba is improving. He probably barely made it past secondary school. I like his efforts; He is really forcing it and may be in 2 years He could become a very good analyst. Even Amokachi falls short, but speaks better English. I think DSTV is making a mistake, I prefer the analyst we had last season; that lady, the kickoff guy and one fat Journo. Funny how I can't remember their names. Perhaps they can make it one ex-international and one good football analyst, Mike Mayaki comes to mind. |
superstar1:You are missing the point; I come to class early in the Morning to prepare for lectures and the next thing someone steps onto the stage and starts chanting / screaming into my ears. This is very disturbing, it is very similar to someone coming to the class with a stereo player playing Bob-Marley. This will definitely unsettle someone who is not a Bob-Marley fan, I can remember I was greatly irritated by those preachings. If you wanted to preach do it during church / fellowship sessions, why disturb others ? Xtians need to understand that they are disturbing Muslims when they choose go into the bus, classes and scream their preachings into the ears of everybody. The worst thing that can happen to anybody is to be living beside a church, even if the church just has 10 worshippers, they will ensure they buy the loudest loud-speakers just to disturb you. |
clefstone:I can tell you for sure that the student would have been expelled / suspended for inciting violence. And yes, the papers would have picked it, and they always do. The Muslim student's reaction is understandable because they have always been on the receiving side, they needed to drum-out this episode to drive in the point, they are not always the "Trouble-initiators". I lived in the south-east for a while, and the few Muslims there are constantly being harrassed, the Muslim women in Hijab, are always taunted, sometimes their head-scarf are pulled and laughed at. Does it ever make headlines ?NO.The experience of Muslims whom go for Youth-service is another chapter entirely, year in year out, the Muslims sisters are threatened to pull-off their hijab, despite it is not against any NYSC rules; yet the Chriatian-Catholic sisters whom also wear something very similar are treated with so much respect and exempted from most disliked activities. There are many examples but for the battery of my Laptop, I would have elaborated more |
Quote from: Sagamite on Today at 02:09:50 PMI am greatly astounded as to your response, first you denounce some part of the bible (Isn't it suppose to be a divine scripture from God with no errors in it ?); and then you go ahead to insult Muslims asking if Christians ever put , to practice My friend, if I may ask you what is the Bombing, Raping, unlimited assault on innocent Iraqis whom had no business with 9/11 nor WMDs suppose to be called Who are the major perpetrators of the crimes going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. Is it because in the name of "Jesus" is not shouted when the bombs are being dropped on civilians, children etc. Perhaps I should also remind you of the christian crusaders whom murdered women and children in the most devastating manner that history will never forget.I have utmost respect for xtians, I do have very good xtian friends especially the Jehovah witnesses and catholics. But I am very dissappointed when an Arab Muslim is so greatly criticised for tying a bomb round himself just to kill a few American soldiers, but the same criticism is not meted out to American soldiers whom kill in large numbers with such impunity that makes some of their own soldiers go sick (mental disorder, due to their inability to stomach the attrocities they have committed). What the girl did is highly condemnable, it is becoming frustrating the way xtians go ahead to preach in buses (allowing one no rest), and turn residential residences to churches giving their neighbours sleepless nights. This must be unGodly, because of your own selfish desire you to proclaim your worship, you turn your loudspeakers so loud, that everyone in the neighbourhood won't be able to sleep quietly; If this is not provocation, then what is ![]() |
