Nobody is saying blood substitutes dont work. I never said they don't work. I gave you scenarios where they are utterly useless. But your brainwashing was so severe you don't understand those scenarios.
Can you use erythropoietin for a baby with severe jaundice? No! What a about bleeding emeegencies? Without blood, you'll rely on plasma expanders like crystalloids but they are temporary. You still need blood. So ask your JW docs to give me a readily available substitute and stop ranting like a demented banshee

1. This is just an example of the side effects of half knowledge.
Listen. There is no drug, vaccine, procedure, operation etc in this world without a side effect. None. Even your paracetamol that you abuse can give you liver disease and kill you. The vitamin C you also abuse can cause kidney stones and kidney failure. Does it mean everyone that take Vit C and paracetamol can have all those? Hell no! But the risk is there depending on the dose and what we call idiosyncratic reactions. I had a patient who had permanent darkening of her whole body from just taking paracetamol. And no, it wasn't a fake one. Its just how her body metabolized the drug. I can as well post side effects of paracetamol and warn everyone not to take it.
What's my point? Would you rather avoid drugs, vaccines, surgeries, blood transfusions etc because there may be side effects? No! We try to make these drugs as safe as possible and prescribe the right doses. For blood transfusions, the risks are there from infections, electrolyte ish etc but as years go by, we make them safer via better screening processes. The screenshots about BT causing cancers and heart attacks are so far-fetched they are negligible. I have practiced for 16 years, with countless blood transfusions. Yet the only issue I have had is febrile reactions which resolved after a while.
Now lets talk about blood substitutes. Adverse effects associated with hemoglobin-based oxygen carrier blood susbtitutes include hypertension, abdominal pain, skin rash, diarrhea, jaundice, hemoglobinuria, oliguria, fever, stroke, and laboratory anomalies such as an elevation in lipase levels etc. Adverse effects of erythropoietin, another blood substitute is hypertension and stroke. Also due to the delayed onset of erythropoiesis, it is contraindicated for acute correction of severe anemia or emergency transfusion. [/b]It should be used cautiously with patients who have a history of seizures. In patients with cancer receiving hormonal agents, biologic products, or radiotherapy.
Now whats the use of blood substitute if its side effect profile are similar to actual blood, and its also very costly and unavailable, add to that, it can't be used in all emergencies?

In a reputable Hospital, my younger one was diagnosed with [b]acute anemia (caused by a serious health issue undetected before then) & she was treated successfully without BT.
JWs already know what to do before emergencies arise,we have mechanisms to address this matter.
But, sometimes, some of us may delay in taking swift action at the appropriate time....

Bro, what your brother had was chronic anemia, not acute. Once someone has anemia due to a chronic disease, it is chronic. Example of such disease in our environment is tuberculosis and chrnic kidney disease . In such cases, you use erythropoietin and iron sucrose, hemacel etc. You can even give the patient hematinics like iron tablets, folic acid if the PCV(Packed Cell Volume) is more than 25%(if he is not a sickle cell anemia patient).
If you ask your brother to tell you what exactly was his diagnosis, you'll understand.

1. There are what we call indications for alternative blood transfusion. Indications mean instances where they are given. Acute blood loss requires blood, especially in this part of the world. If you Max(in Nigeria), have an acute blood loss and request for artificial blood instead of real blood, you'll surely bleed to death. No caps. Even though they are trying to make better blood substitutes, they are not readily available in Nigeria due to our problems. So what are you gonna do?
2. If you can read, which I doubt you do, you'll see there has been research on going for blood substitutes since the 15th century, well before JW rascals came on this earth. And this researches have been providing blood substitutes which is almost like the real blood(but not quite). And they keep on doing their work. So which JW taught them? Do you guys even fund any of those researches?

1. Bro, what scenario did Serena have that she received alternative blood transfusion? Even the doctors in the US would tell you there are limitations to those alternatives and being in a reseource poor environment like Nigeria, you won't have it handy. Take for example Erythropoietin and iron sucrose . Its very costly and thus not easily available. It costs 40k to 50k weekly. And given 2x weekly. And guess what, this is for chronic anemia which happens in kidney disease or cancer.
In acute anemia, you need blood, straight up . Ask any doctor you meet. Also ask your Kingdom hall pastors(or whatever you call them),if they are honest, they'll tell you its not indicated in all cases of blood loss or anemia.
2. When you say White Supremacist gave us crap I laugh at you. Are those 8 bald headed vultures in the US that control your brain cells blacks? But if they tell you, "Max stop eating" you'll gladly ask them "for how many days?"
Unfortunately I'm not built that way. I have a thinking machine sitting on my neck. I ask questions.
Also those 'White Supremacists' gave us modern medicine. The thing with medicine is it works in any part of the world you are in. So you cant use a different drug for different ailments. Its the same. The issue is availability. There are better blood alternatives in the US, even though they take the place of real blood.
