Yeah he's been putting so many reforms in place but some people are of the opinion that all that especially the recent clamp down on other nobles within the kingdom are but just to consolidate hid grip on political power of the country. Whatever his intentions, the women certainly will enjoy some degree of freedom they've never had.

Foreign Affairs / Belgium To Be First Country To Post A Female Ambassador To Saudi Arabia by JaffyJoe(m): 6:54pm On Dec 19, 2017
Belgium will become the first nation to send a female ambassador to Saudi Arabia next year, with the government telling public broadcaster VRT that appointing a woman to be its top diplomatic representative in the conservative country will send a “clear signal” about its ideals.

Dominique Mineur, currently the Belgian ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, will move to Riyadh in the summer of 2018 to take over the position there, local media reports.

Saudi Arabia, which follows a conservative form of Islam, is considered to be one of the least gender equal countries on Earth; the country was ranked 138 in the 2017 World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap report. Though numerous restrictions on women in the country remain, Riyadh has announced some reforms recently, including plans to allow women to acquire driving licenses in 2018.

Saudi Arabia also appointed a spokeswoman to its embassy in the United States this year.

Mineur will be the first female ambassador to be based in Riyadh. In 2010, Georgia appointed a female ambassador to Kuwait who also represented her country in Saudi Arabia, but when an embassy was later opened in Riyadh a male ambassador took over that responsibility.
According to De Morgan newspaper, Mineur's appointment is seen as a response to criticism of Belgium allowing Saudi Arabia to ascend to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women earlier this year — a move that was widely criticized by human rights advocates. After that vote, Belgium's foreign ministry said it had been surprised by the move and the diplomat who supported the Saudi bid had made a “hasty decision” without proper consultation.

In the past, activists have called for foreign nations to send female ambassadors to Saudi Arabia and other countries where woman's rights were restricted.

“In this way, the Saudi King will be obliged to speak to these ambassadors,” Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi said in 2013. “Similarly, imagine 20 woman ambassadors in front of the Iran President. It will be a beautiful sight. Please help us.”

Some experts have expressed doubts, however, that the impact would be any more than symbolic: A number of female diplomats already work in Riyadh and Saudi Arabia is often eager receive high-profile foreign guests and skirt the kingdom's strict rules on attire and other restrictions.
Belgium will also send a female ambassador, Veronique Petit, to Tehran, De Morgan reports. Although Iran itself appointed a female ambassador just two years ago, the country's restrictions on women have made it a complicated place for foreign diplomats to operate. In February, female members of Sweden's government were criticized for wearing headscarves while on a trip to Tehran.

The United States has not sent a female ambassador to either Saudi Arabia or Iran. Studies suggest this is because fewer female ambassadors are appointed, and they tend to be sent to countries less important to U.S. foreign policy.

Not a joy for anybody but a logical question. An extremist Islamic group that fights the West would have logically targeted Israel in a region where that group wants to start a caliphate.

But since the reality sort of didn't turn out that way, should that now automatically be an indictment on Israel? Chillax and stop overthinking man, connecting imaginary dots where there should be none. ISIS is a ruthless terrorist group with no special waiver for any country.
Foreign Affairs / Saudi Intercepts Ballistic Missile From Iranian-backed Houthi Rebels Over Riyadh by JaffyJoe(m): 2:15pm On Dec 19, 2017
WW3 shaping up apparently lol

-Eyewitnesses said they saw a plume of smoke rising over north east of Riyadh
- Yemen rebels said they had fired a 'Volcano H-2' towards city's royal residence
-Spokesman claimed it was to target meeting of Saudi leaders at Yamama palace
-Saudi coalition said it had intercepted a missile as pictures showed smoke in sky

Saudi Arabia has intercepted a ballistic missile over Riyadh after Yemen rebels claimed to have fired at the royal residence of King Salman.

Eyewitnesses said they saw a plume of smoke over the capital after hearing a blast at about 10.50am this morning - shortly before the scheduled unveiling of the Saudi budget.

A Saudi-led coalition is battling the armed Houthi movement in neighbouring Yemen and this morning the Shiite rebels said they were targeting a meeting of leaders at Yamama palace.

They claimed a ballistic 'Volcano H-2' missile was used in the attack.

Pictures on social media showed a trail of white smoke in the skies above the city this morning. State television has claimed there are no reports of damage so far while.

Officials said the missile was 'Iranian-Huthi', days after Washington accused Tehran of manufacturing a missile fired by the Yemeni rebels at the Saudi capital last month.

A royal family member appeared to confirm the missile was aimed at a palace meeting.
Coalition forces confirm intercepting an Iranian-Houthi missile targeting (the) south of Riyadh. There are no reported casualties at this time,' the government-run Center for International Communication wrote on its Twitter account.

The attack happened hours before Saudi Arabia was due to announce the country's annual budget in a news conference expected to be attended by senior ministers.

Reuters witnesses described hearing a blast and said they saw smoke in the north-east of Riyadh. It was the second Huthi missile attack on Riyadh in the past two months.
The first attack, which targeted Riyadh international airport on November 4, triggered the tightening of a longstanding Saudi-led blockade of Yemen - already on the verge of famine.

Saudi Arabia angrily accused its arch foe Iran of supplying the missile to the rebels, a charge Tehran strongly denied.

On Thursday, US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley presented what she called 'undeniable' evidence that last month's missile was 'made in Iran'.

But her comments went beyond the findings of a UN investigation which reached no firm conclusion on whether the missile came from an Iranian supplier, saying only that it had a 'common origin' to some Iranian designs.

I am of the opinion that Africans of Old were greater than the present ones today.
Even with all the technology,we have failed woefully as a people to invent anything tangible, with all our wealth our poverty rate is the worst in the world,And more pathetic is the fact that we've even failed to preserve and write our own history and the culture of our ancestors.
We are just failures in every aspect.

You are not far from the truth. So sad that these things are likely lost forever since our generation seems to be indifferent/unserious to having our stories factually told our way.

I'll advice that no man ask her out let alone propose to her until she has gotten the needed psychiatric help. This is the kind of woman that would murder her lover and his mistress in cold blood if he makes the mistake of cheating on her.

That does not stop the killing, panda parts are used by traditional Chinese medicine to treat intestinal, liver and cardiac-related diseases.

Which do you prefer, a dead Panda or a dead Human?

And these ailments are not treatable with orthodox medicines abi? You sound like you wouldn't mind animal or even human sacrifices to the gods just to have your needs met whereas, the efficacy of some of these things have been debunked by science.

See, i subscribe to traditional healing where necessary to an extent, especially in areas where there are no reasonable access to modern healthcare but what happens then when the proponents of these methods run out of supply of these animal materials? Additionally, you and i know these things are used mostly for dark magic, luck charms, money rituals and the likes. The same intent that necessitate the use of rare animals, thereby sending them to extinction, is the same behind the use of humans for ritual purposes.

Monkey skulls are sold in Asia.

So that justifies it? Lol, do you even know that the penalty for killing some animals e.g Panda in China is outright death sentence?

There go the answer to why so many animals are going extinct in West Africa. While our brothers in the East and Southern Africa conserve and make money off their rich wildlife from tourism, we kill ours, make charms out of them and most times, just eat them.

Lol funny. What is it based on? Hebrew bible (the old testament)? The other earliest mentioning of Jebusite was infact seen at s site called Mari (possibly in modern day Syria). Like a guy said earlier, land acquisition can only be valid through purchase, inheritance or war. Israel has a right to exist. Arab nations and Iran should accept this first and so many positive things can be achieved.

You wrote plenty grammer but ignored the ORIGINAL OWNER OF JERUSALEM. Why did you do that? Are you sensitizing your comment or what? The original owner are the JEBUSITES. Perhaps the Jews, Christians and Muslims should be kicked out and leave the land for the real owner which is the JEBUSITES

So you believe the biblical account that has to do with the Jebusite now ehn. Suddenly, the bible is no longer ridden with errors and is an acceptable source ba? If that's the case, then you should as well believe every other things prophesized in it bro.

So who are the Jebusites today? For argument sake, if for some reasons maybe political developments in the future, yorubas reclaim full control of Ilorin for instance, would that make them oppressors?
