Good day pellow Kwantiri-mans. We in the beer joint out here in a squalid crime-infested part of Tijuana, Mexico, have been arguing drunkenly among ourselves as to which actor out of the old TV series "Star Trek" could be described as having made the biggest fashion impression on our glorious jail-bird leader, Comrade Nazi-Nnamdi Kanu of the turtle-neck cosplay fame. Specifically, we seek the input of our esteemed Nairaiand readership, as to whether it was Captain Kirk, or Mr. Spock, that inspired our man Kanu to wear that entertainingly futuristic spaceman turtle-neck cosplay outfit that is bound to be a huge hit with the other guests of the state languishing in jail where the sun never shines. I hereby tender for your perusal the pictures of our man Kanu of the Sit-At-Home-or-Die fame, followed by archive photos of his sartorial role modes, Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock. Any thoughts on this question that can be shared would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, and God breast Nigeria.

DeepSight:While Wole Soyinka's characterization of Donald Trump as being a "white version" of Ugandan tyrant "Big Daddy" Idi Amin is both humorous and accurate in that Trump does aspire to become a tyrant of the Idi Amin mold, Wole Soyinka should have kept his observation private and refrained from voicing his view to the hearing of any reporters, so as to protect his freedom to visit America for business or pleasure. Once Trump's reign of terror has run its course and normalcy has been restored to the USA in the wake of the Trump years, Wole Soyinka will be free to once again visit America as he has for decades in the past. That visitation right would never have been interrupted at all if Soyinka had not openly declared his intention to revoke his own Green Card back in 2017, as a demonstration of his dismay at a Trump electoral win. |
Forrkke:Having been granted the unusual privilege of Green Card ownership without physically residing on American soil for the majority of each year as is required of other Green Card holders, Wole Soyinka should never have drawn attention to the existence of that precious travel liberator called the Green Card, so as not to spite those within the pre-Trump US administration who "bent the rules" to make possible the issuance of that Green Car to Soyinka. More recently, Wole Soyinka showed poor judgement and recklessness by PUBLICLY criticizing America's elected political leadership, particularly since Mr. Soyinka only spends time in the USA as a visitor. Regardless of what the fine print of the law says, the democratic right to free speech that Americans enjoy can NOT be extrapolated to include a tolerance for the airing of critical opinions about the US president by foreign visitors to America. Wole Soyinka's hard-earned reputation for political involvement in Nigeria will be recalled by historians as a key contribution that expedited Nigeria's evolution towards electoral democracy, but Soyinka must refrain making judgmental statements about heads of states presiding over any countries that he visits or proposes to visit. Visa issuance is a privilege and not a right of the applicant, therefore diplomatic decorum MUST be the watch word for all visa applicants to ANY country on this planet. |
DonBenny77:Wole Soyinka has paid his dues as a younger man who spoke out against a succession of military tyrants in Nigeria, with the result that he lost his freedom deep in the darkest dungeons of despots who hated the truth, more than a few times. Beyond those nightmarish rites of passage spent behind bars, Wole Soyinka came within a hair's breadth of losing his life at the hands of goons sent to terminate him by the powers that be at the time. While it may be true that Mr. Soyinka committed basic human errors in his youth and in his old age, it is the sum total, the net aggregate of his life work, that constitutes his living legacy to which he continues to add with each new publication he crafts as a writer of conscience blessed with prodigious ingenuity, creativity, and dedication. Don Benny, with sincere appreciation for the courteous tone of your expressed thoughts on Nigeria's only Nobel Laureate, I agree to disagree with the conclusions you have drawn about that intellectual powerhouse and author extraordinaire, Wole Soyinka. |
BeardedMeat:Wole Soyinka followed his conscience, and he knew all along that his political stances could be controversial. |
As a discerning connoisseur and lover of the aroma, taste and effect of high-caliber cannabis, I urge my fellow stoners who reside in Nigeria or who just visit the country, to refrain from openly defying Nigeria's cannabis prohibition laws by holding these so-called "drug parties". For as long as Nigeria's current legal framework prohibits cannabis and specifies jail sentences for its possession, anyone using cannabis in Nigeria must never indulge in that pleasure openly, or with others in social groups, because that type of conduct will be seen as a direct challenge to the laws of the land. Nigerian National Assembly legislators are at this very moment in October 2025 working collaboratively with the NDLEA drug agency, for the purpose of ending the prohibition of cannabis in Nigeria by re-classifying cannabis as a regulated and taxed cash crop that can be grown or processed for export by any corporate entity which acquires a government permit under the new medical marijuana dispensation that will commence when those new regulations are signed into law very soon. Until that new cannabis legislation is signed into law, it would be reckless to openly smoke weed anywhere in Nigeria, just because it might be legal to do so in other countries. When in Rome, do as the Romans and follow the dictates of LOCAL laws, wherever you find yourself on this glorious blue planet amid the cosmos. |
DonBenny77:Take a moment to look at all the published book titles that Professor Wole Soyinka has on sale with Amazon books. Note how many of those books are RECENT works whose literary quality has only improved with time like a fine wine. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=by+Wole+Soyinka&i=digital-text&crid=SN1WOVTWKOLH&sprefix=by+wole+soyinka%2Cdigital-text%2C657&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 As you scroll through this formidable body of work, ask yourself in all honesty, if the writer whose genius created this catalog of published books, could possibly be described as having an "outdated" brain, of all things. Have a good day sir. |
BeardedMeat:Wole Soyinka is a very youthful 90 year-old who still walks miles as a bush-fowl shotgunner on a regular basis. Without question, Wole Soyinka will outlive millions of fellow Nigerians who sport wobbly beer guts, and walk with a limp at 40. It would therefore be presumptuous to declare that the Trump tyranny will outlive Wole Soyinka, all things considered. |
In the fullness of time after this dreadful anomaly called the Trump regime is dead and gone, Wole Soyinka will be approached by US government officials who will likely offer the Nobel Laureate a lifetime unlimited reentry visa, in recognition for Wole Soyinka's lifelong heroic stand against tyranny not only in Africa, but now also in the USA, the one-time bastion of electoral democracy now facing its greatest existential peril. Wole Soyinka is an African literary icon whose creative influence transcends cultures and time-zones for a truly global reach. It is noteworthy that Wole Soyinka could have taken the path of least resistance, and kept quiet while he witnessed the evolving tyrannical tendencies of Donald Trump in America, but Wole Soyinka's indominable and immutable conscience got the better of him, forbade him to remain quiet, and caused him to relinquish forever his once-treasured American Green Card in protest over the unconstitutional ascent of King Trump in America. Those who mock and revile Wole Soyinka with their usual online vituperations would not qualify for engagement as a gardening trainee manicuring the lush landscape of the professor's country estate, yet thanks to the anonymity of the internet, the usual crew of career clowns who always find fault in Wole Soyinka are free to wax lyrical in their capacity as inconsequential court-jesters. God bless Nigeria. God bless The United States of America May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the bedroom tackle of Trump, his fellow Nazis, and all his cult followers. |
Chai, some people don write doctorate dissertation on this Kanu matter. See chapter, verse and paragraph like say we dey court. Naa come, why unu come dey carry this Kanu matter put for head like this now? Naaa Diarizz God ooooo. Kanu post video say anybody when step commot for him house on Sit-At-Home Monday, go take head collect bullet. Na so many people die o, for Igbo land. Na the same Kanu make MANY video for where he dey halla say make dem "burn Nigeria down", come post am online. Hmmm e get as e be o. The simple matter when only lawyer go fiti know, be say eh, both who fire gun, take am commit, AND who tell am to fire, go carry di same criminal charge put for head when di matter reach court. Now, we all dey take eye see how as Kanu don record and post online MANY video for where him dey support "Sit-At-Home-Monday" for Igbo-land, and dey support say make him boys carry gun shoot people when no gree stay for inside dem house. Because of how the law be, Kanu go face SEVERAL murder charge o. Each one fit send man pikin go meet hangman for inside prison, with no option of jail or fine. . If Papa God wan save Kanu, dat yanga man, judge go give am 30 years jail sentence, with hard labor for inside maximum security prison. |
Gr8mind07:His self-taught, DIY lawyer skills will enable him to become a jail-house legal secretary for other prisoners that Kanu will meet behind bars during his 30-year sentence for inciting genocide online. |
Immatex:If only the people who keep shouting about the unfairness of repentance in the north and repression in the east, could just read your words. Expecting justice to take its course with Kanu does NOT mean that one supports allowing northern terrorists to "repent" and avoid justice. Maybe, now that there has been a major shake-up in the Nigerian military, the era of "repentant" terrorists will be replaced with true justice. |
WizardOfNG:If I could find a way to earn a buck from writing, I would jump on it like a rabid junkyard dog, Wizard'of NG. In the meantime I will present Oga Seun with another bill to compensate me for all the years of my life I devoted to writing in Nairaland. Oga Seun please don't ignore this bill o. I will accept payment in Russian rubles if your naira cashflow is of concern at present. God breast Nigeria. |
Kingpele:By choosing to represent himself in court, Kanu again demonstrates his arrogance and sense of grandiose entitlement. By becoming his own lawyer, Kanu has GUARANTEED he will be sentenced to between 20 and 30 years in jail without the option of a fine.
|
Barrywilly:Even the name "Wawa Prison" strikes cold fear into the heart of man pikin. Kanu will have decades to grow old and sick in solitary confinement, during which time he will contemplate the monumental blunder he committed in rashly presuming that his advocacy of violent bloodshed would only harm his victims and the apprehended gunmen who pulled triggers to spill blood on Kanu's orders. As he slowly loses what is left of his tenuous sanity in his squalid jail cell, Kanu will ruminate over nightmarish options deep down in the dungeon where the sun never shines and where forgiveness cannot be found. |
Our man Ned is blessed with the wealth to raise 100 of his biological offspring to university completion so he is entitled to marry as many beautiful women as his heart desires, and to father children by the score, since all of them will get a chance to earn a college degree. As the man of the house with numerous women on call to the master bedroom, one can only imagine the exhilarating sexual adventures that Ned has enjoyed with his wives and part-time mistresses in his mansions and aboard his luxury aircraft. Much as I would love to taste for just one day the perks of privilege with women that Ned enjoys routinely, I would stop at becoming polygamous, even if I woke up some day with adequate wealth to play the sheikh and marry a hareem of busty damsels. I fear polygamy because the jealousy and competition among the wives and their dependents could lead to the polygamist man getting poisoned to death by one or more of those wives who might have a hidden incentive to kill for profit. No sir, with Ned's money, I would follow the herd by having just one wife for bearing and rearing kids, supplemented by numerous non-resident bikini-model girlfriends who will be placed on a monthly retainer to ensure they report for duty as and when summoned at the boss' whim. |
Mrchippychappy:Man pikin when mistake go plant yam by this time for Nigeria, don supply cow food for one day be dat. |
kettykin:It is only after you have hailed the military for this great success, that you will qualify to view the bodies whose owners are now enjoying their 72 each. |
This is a positive development. No fewer than 80 terrorists have now become GOOD terrorists, who have been sent to go and repent directly to God, if they are qualified to meet God, and if not, the terrorist virgin hunters can repent to their real boss, one Mr. Lucifer Satan who dresses all in red and loves burning things. The only question that remains unresolved is the conundrum of whether each of those dead terrorists will be allocated 72 virgins to service, or whether they were so badly fragmented by the military's firepower that they no longer possess the bedroom tackle that is normally deployed when the 72 virgins arrive. |
All too often in discussions about hemp and cannabis, attention focuses on the few strains of the plant that contain the mind-altering compound named THC, and the pain-reduction oil called CBD, both of which hold enormous economic potential for Nigeria now that the colonial-era cannabis prohibition laws are about to be consigned to the septic tank of history. There are, however, a multitude of STRUCTURAL applications for which fibers made from the hemp plant, are the raw material used to build CAR bodies and even more amazingly, for the construction of AIRCRAFT, which benefit from the incredible strength and lightness of hemp fiber structural materials. Below are a couple of videos showing the use of hemp fiber to construct a sports car, and to build an operational general aviation airplane. Hemp fiber is lighter than steel or aluminum, yet TEN TIMES stronger than steel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kgg0zpckGRU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BEvPjtwcNQ https://www.theeducationmagazine.com/hemp-plane-develop-stronger-steel/ Using hemp fiber as the raw material for airframes, Nigeria's drone manufacturing industry could save millions of dollars by utilizing locally grown and processed hemp sheeting material that is lighter than aluminum and ten times stronger than steel, to produce a new generation of light and structurally robust drones for local deployment or export. Finally, the hemp plant's fibers are mixed with lime powder to create a superb insulation material for house walls that is cheaper than conventional building methods, and better still, relies on hemp as its primary raw material, which is one of the most environmentally beneficial plants known to man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9d_wsoZS6j0 |
seunmsg:The CIA usually start to get angry when people they have never heard about begin to spend their 50th year in jail, so Kanu still has 45 years he can spend in jail before the CIA will recognize his plight and still choose to ignore him haha |
Until the laws change in Nigeria, simple possession of cannabis can fetch an unlucky smoker 7 long years in jail, therefore it is baffling to see so many people gathered in one spot where they all become witnesses to each other's committing such a serious crime under Nigerian law. If a weed smoker in Nigeria is planning a night out in a club, they should smoke all they want at home BEFORE going out, so that they have nothing incriminating in their possession if the party is raided by drug enforcement agents. As it stands, one imagines that quite a few of the people arrested for smoking weed in public at this Lagos night spot might NOT be able to raise the bribe money requested by the arresting police officers, with the result that those people could wind up getting slam-dunked in a jail cell where death from hunger or violence by other inmates is a real possibility. Smoke ALONE in your individual hideout, or don't smoke at all. |
Tochitee:Fifteen to twenty years of hard time with unpaid labor duties in jail does sound about right for a rabble-rousing terrorist advocate like Nazi Nnamdi Kanu, who confidently filmed himself advocating violence in Nigeria multiple times, and posted that damning evidence online for years without relent. From that favorite mantra of urging his cult followers to "burn Nigeria down", to his ordering trigger-happy gunmen he armed to enforce an illegal confinement imposed on entire towns of people who were kept cowering in their homes every Monday, Kanu relished his role as a swashbuckling but cowardly rebel commander who leads his warriors from the distant rear while his expendable militiamen face the might of the Nigerian armed forces on the front lines in the REAL theater of conflict. Now the finger-pointing Che Guevara of Peckham, London, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu is facing the prospect of being locked away like a zoo exhibit animal, for the rest of his wasted life. Kanu is about to lose the most precious possession any human being can claim to own, which is one's FREEDOM. After dismissing his legal team, Kanu has compounded his woes and sealed his fate by trying to represent himself in court, which is a decision he will regret deeply very soon. After that decades-long sentence is imposed on Kanu in court, there will be NO protest from those living in Igbo-Land who lost loved ones to the thugs and gunmen armed by Kanu and his co-conspirator jail-bird, Simon Ekpa, who is already an unwilling guest of the prison service in Finland, from where he will be deported BACK to face Nigerian justice, after serving 6 years in that Finnish jail. |
One of the oldest adages passed down through generations of legal practitioners is as follows : Any man who represents himself in the court of law, has a F00L for a client. This means that even lawyers who get sued or arrested know that they would be committing legal suicide if they do not engage ANOTHER lawyer to represent them in court. Nnamdi Kanu is NOT a trained lawyer, so his decision to represent himself in court will be looked back upon in retrospect as the greatest and most damaging mistake Kanu has ever made in his entire life. By feeling arrogant and entitled enough to lock horns with trained legal practitioners and prosecutors, as a legal layman defendant and confused simpleton, Kanu has sealed his own fate. My humble prediction is that in short order now, Kanu will be handed down a compassionate judgement of 20 years imprisonment with no option of a fine, for his role in calling for the violent imposition of an illegal curfew in Igboland, during which many lives were taken by gunmen acting at the behest of Nnamdi Kanu and Simon Ekpa, both of who imagined themselves to be above the law simply because they lived in Europe and not in Nigeria. Now and belatedly both terror instigators, Kanu and Ekpa, know better than to openly call for bloodshed. |
Stella Obasanjo went to Spain for stomach-reduction surgery which went wrong. As the wife of a Nigerian president, Stella would have been able to afford the most exclusive medical attention that money could buy, so it is a mystery why Mrs. Obasanjo entrusted her life to a Spanish surgeon, when her tummy-tuck procedure would have been more competently handled in London's renowned Harley Street neighborhood where Arab sheikh billionaires and Russian oligarchs go to visit the most expensive doctors on earth. In her death, Stella Obasanjo left women with a valuable lesson, namely that cosmetic surgery of any sort, is best avoided. Reports abound worldwide of women who ran stark raving mad or died due to horrible infections caused by silicone breast or buttock implants that leaked carcinogenic silicone into the body with devastating results over time. Women who feel that money can reverse the aging process will all find out sooner or later that by electing to undergo cosmetic surgery, they were in fact committing slow but certain suicide, motivated by pure vanity and a stubborn refusal to accept that Father Time and Mother Nature cannot be cheated or deceived with experimental surgery. |
Dogalmighty17:Even if the Nigeria Army's operating budget cannot support the creation of an air wing akin to the US Marine Corps integrated ground-attack aircraft fleets, Nigeria can leapfrog into the high-tech future by urgently expanding its drone fleets for surveillance AND for ground attack. At a fraction of the price of a single manned military aircraft, DOZENS of equally potent surveillance and attack drones can be procured, many of which require NO costly ground infrastructure like concrete runways, thus facilitating rapid deployment of armed drones in response to emerging threats posed by moving targets that can be countered by the Nigerian Army either autonomously or in tactical and strategic cooperation with the Nigerian Air Force. While China is the world's supplier of its famous DJI drones that dominate the surveillance drone fleets currently vying for dominance in Ukrainian skies, both combatants in that war have stepped up their own indigenous drone assembly capabilities, while also designing anti-drone technology, as well as jam-proof fiber-optic drones that spool off behind them long, nearly invisible fiber optic lines that transmit the drones' command and video signals to and from the hidden front-line drone operators. All branches Nigeria of the Nigerian military MUST step up their drone program investments, so as to effectively counter a terrorist threat that is also increasingly employing drones during their insurgency operations against the Nigerian armed forces deployed across all contested areas of the nation. |
A few squads of South African mercenaries, backed up with their helicopter gunships and now, their drones, should be invited to partner with the Nigerian military in the current war on terror in Nigeria. The government of Jonathan Goodluck deployed foreign mercenaries to great effect over a decade ago, and now in 2025, those mercenary companies have evolved technologically. Private Military Companies like Sandline International, Executive Outcomes, and even the notorious Blackvvater, would make short work of the terror and kidnap gangs marauding Nigeria with impunity. Even if mineral resource agreements need to be negotiated between Nigeria's leadership and those highly professional soldier of fortune companies, the hard-fought peace that will follow with time shall be worthwhile. |
DonADESIDA:The EFCC will handle any case involving more than 5 million naira, so they will be able to collar this man easily |
Yusufisraelj:You've described what works best for you, and I have done the same. With this difference of opinion noted, one can rest assured that Planet Earth will continue to rotate along its divinely ordained axis in accordance with the dictates of celestial physics. |
tunde1200:Jubril of Congo is in fact the third cousin to the brother of the gateman to the pastor whose church was attended by the fourth wife of none other than Jubril of Sudan, who is at present enjoying the services of nothing less than 72 highly experienced and impossibly beautiful virgins. As you have correctly observed in the quote above, Nnamdi Kanu is a doppelganger stunt-double for the once feared Jubril of Congo, who is currently making useful statements under armed guard in the DSS headquarters in Abuja. |
Uptheante:Well, I suppose I see things differently in that I don't regard money spent on a cheap date as a "waste" if I later fail to dip my wick as hoped. Also, there are no guarantees when it comes to women so my philosophy embraces a more spontaneous and less methodical approach to getting laid and earning the trust of a woman I find attractive. |
