^^^^ Geniuses eh? Next, they will be saying he is a "chicken farmer"! But he still kicks a.s.s. |
Suya man |
I don't think you can divorce the Ojukwu legacy from his actions during the Civil war. At the end of the day, post civil war he was a leader of his people whether you agree with his views/opinions or not. And his people say he did a lot for them so who is to argue with that. |
Is this true? |
No cause for alarm. GEJ is just giving Naija police an opportunity to collect Xmas bonus. Police will start stopping every Okada man, and charging him double or even triple the usual bribe. Come 2012, after all the noise the policy will be quietly reversed. |
Isn't OBJ connected with Transperancy International. He doesn't want anybody to spoil his market. |
Which criminal is scummier? The one that does the bombing or the one that stretches resources, creates scares, potentially causes innocent people to be lynched and adds to the general feeling of insecurity? In my opinion they are both as bad as each other - both are bastardising Nigeria. |

Season Six is quite good |
Season 2 Episode 8 sneak previews are on YouTube. Shane accuses Herchel of knowing Sofia was in the Barn but Herchel denies it. He claims Otis must have put her there. Herchel still wants Rick's group out but the group isn't quite ready to go. Herchel disappears. Episode 8 has more zombie confrontations as well as a twist (well it looks like a twist). |
The minimum height for the Nigerian army is 1.68m which is 5ft 6 inches. If the average height is 5ft 4 then the army will struggle. The data is wrong as it only includes less than 1000 men and around 1000 women. |

The article doesn't blame anybody in general but four syndicates specifically. The syndicates identified include three that were led by Igbo men. That much is clear. No zone is paradise. We are all suffering in Nigeria and a renegotiation of the Union is required, but all zones have bad elements within them. In this case, three Igbo led syndicated are using Boko Haram to make money. An interesting development, should we ignore it? |
There are criminal elements in every ethnic group. I think we all need to stop bashing any single ethnic group and realise that all ethnic groups have rotten elements within them. If not for this article people would believe it is only Hausa-Fulani and Kanuri that are behind these terror messages and terror alerts. But the SSS spokesman clearly identified four syndicates with three being led by South Easterners! Imagine people sitting down and exploiting the deaths of innocent people for their financial gains. |
SSS Reveals "SMS Threat Syndicate" Masquerading As Boko Haram http://saharareporters.com/news-page/sss-reveals-sms-threat-syndicate-masquerading-boko-haram The state security services issued the statement below regarding several syndicate it claimed were behind sms threat messages to some prominent Nigerian politicians: Recall that on 2nd November, 2011, the Service in a press release informed that two (2) secondary school students in Niger State had been apprehended for sending false threat messages of purported plans by Boko Haram to attack the Presidential Villa and National Assembly on 28th October, 2011. 2. On 14th November, 2011, Government had assured the public that the activities of such syndicates that specialize in sending threat text messages to members of the pubic, including key Government officials, foreign embassies, and other strategic corporations in the country will be quashed. 3. Against this backdrop, the Service would again like to draw the attention of the public to the criminal and subversive intents of devious elements who threaten unsuspecting individuals, organizations and groups for fraudulent purposes: Accordingly, we wish to inform Nigerians that a major breakthrough has been recorded as members of four (4) groups of criminal syndicates engaged in this trend were recently arrested. Highlights of the activities of each of the syndicates are: SYNDICATE I 4. The group is made up of four (4) members namely, Stanley OCHUWA, Emmanuel Ogbonna CHINONYEREM, Onyedikachi AKPASUE, and Mathias AKUEGBO. They operated from Suleja in Niger State and Zuba, FCT, under the code names Col. MURPHY, Col. ADAMS, Col. MORDI, and Engr. Emma NWACHUKWU. SYNDICATE 111 6. Maurice Efe LAWRENCE, an indigene of Delta State, operated this cell from Calabar, Cross River State. He had widely circulated text messages through three (3) GSM Nos: 08100428701, 08080468686, and 070383912813 on plans by his syndicate to attack or bomb some cities in Nigeria. On his hit list were) Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Port Harcourt, Jos, Kaisina, Damaturu, Maiduquri, Lagos, Dutse and Akure. SYNDICA TE IV 7. Chinwendu JOSIAH, an indigene of Imo State worked in a cyber cafe in Benin City. He it was that sent emails to foreign embassies that caused panic and anxiety which led to the travel alert issued during the Eid-el- Kabir celebrations. The threat messages were sent through the following email addresses which contained a cloned GSM no: 081881916038, which he used for the scam and intent to extort money from his victims. Below is the full text of some of the messages sent: i."WE ARE BOKO HARAM, WE ARE COMING FOR YOU" ii. "THE BROTHERHOOD REMAINS ONE INDIVISIBLE ENTITY. THERE IS NO SPLIT AND THERE IS NO SPLINTER GROUP. STORIES OF SPLIT ARE TISSUES OF LIES BY THE STATE SECURITY SERVICE TO DISCREDIT US. CALL ON ALL TRUE FAITHFULS WHO BELIEVE IN OUR CAUSE TO JOIN US BY ENLISTING AS A FOLLOWER AND BECOME A MEMBER OF THE BROTHERHOOD IN OUR SITE" |
Diversionary tactics. Stick to the issue. Ojukwu fled every major confrontation he has ever faced. He cowardly needed a pardon from the same people that butchered millions of his people before returning to Nigeria. When Eastern Nigeria (including SS) was on fire and needed a hero, Ojukwu cowardly supported Abacha. Ojukwu is a typical Nigerian soldier, only showing bravery when hiding behind the skirts of innocent civilians. This is the same man that cowardly refused to respect his friend's wishes but went ahead and married his god daughter. Ojukwu is not the example of someone I will use as a hero. Effiong maybe, but certainly not Ojukwu! |
Motor park tout |
It doesn't take courage to support a tyrant and murderous bastard like Abacha. Dude your credibility is zero after making the above statement. Take your tribalist a.ss and go and sleep. Mourn Ojukwu if you will but don't go about trash talking other people. |
Roadside tyre vulcaniser |
Ojukwu never stood in one place to be confronted. Always fleeing: Eg: 1) Fled Biafra (afraid of facing OBJ) 2) Fled NPP to NPN 3) Fled his first wife to marry Bianca, despite claiming conversion to Christianity; and 4) Fled decent people in the 90s to support Abacha. |
For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Jesus came for the sinners so that they may be saved. But to your point about believing something whilst not verifying it yourself, that is surely a funny basis to use to call Christians liars. You're typing on Nairaland and believe the responses are other people (ie humans) and not machines. But how can you be sure? Have you checked or verified that the other 800k members are infact living people. |
Real politiks doesnt follow t.it for tat rules. If a thief comes into my house, the law of the land says I can kill him in self-defence. Is that fair? No it is not. It is sad that Nzeogwu and co did not think their actions through especially as the North had killed Southerners before. The Jan 1966 coup was as poorly planned as the 1990 Okar coup. If you're going to kill a cobra, wear boots and cut off its head completely. Don't p.iss the snake off and then complain when it bites you. Ironsi failed to show clear, decisive and responsible leadership and left the fate of his fellow people in the hands of a more junior officer. The rest as they say is history. |
OBJ has ruled Nigeria twice; OBJ led 3 marine commando; OBJ met Biafra in the field and accepted Effiong's surrender; OBJ went to meet Boko Haran when all others couldnt; OBJ survived Abacha. OBJ, despite resistance from all corners installed his choice of president on Nigeria thrice (Shagari, YarAdua and GEJ) OBJ is no coward. |
Why does a soldier have to stand behind GEJ? |
Pre 1960 SW did not want one Nigeria East through Zik wanted one Nigeria Late 1950s and early 1960s Zik tries to divide the West and once his plan fails goes east and chances a Calabar man; And whilst brandishing tribalism blames the west (did he not chance a Calabar man?) 1966 Igbo led coup installed Igbo General Ironso as head of state; Regions are disbanded and government from the centre installed; Leaders from every region apart from the East are killed (only those in jail or abroad are spared) The North in retaliation for their loss start killing Easterners (coup kills military men whilst civilians are killed by masses) The Igbos without consultation with other Easterners declares the East is leaving Nigeria. Igbo military man's actions leads to a civil war that kills millions (including Igbos) Post civil war Igbos blame Westerners, specifically Yorubas for the civil war. How does this make sense. Una go find trouble with Northerners way you no fit finish. We force us enter country, country come spoil, you vex say you wan leave now. Person trouser way you enter do genocide for Una but you no face am. Na to face another person, Phucking jokers! |
That's like a r.apist telling a child abuse victim that the reason why he is r.aping the victim is because an uncle had r.aped the victim before. Can the PDP who have been in power for the last 12 years stop blaming everybody but themselves. The economy is bad, unemployment is high, healthcare is non-existent, education is very poor and instead PDP is focusing on 1) Gays, 2) Blaming people that should be in jail, 3) failing to pass urgent bills like the PIB! |
When you play the Game of Thrones you either win or you die. There is no middle ground |
Well I'm not Igbo so , I'm full blooded Yoruba! |
Kwarans, ronu. Whenever I meet a Kwaran and they give me a heavy Arabic name, I stare at them till they give me their Yoruba name. There are Moslems in SW states but they use their Yoruba names and even when they have Arabic names they will provide the Yoruba name. So Kwarans, why? |
Awolowo told lies while Ojukwu was an angel? Both sides used propaganda, cessation of hostilities does not mean the war has ended. This point is quite clear from the level of vitriol Igbos still hold. I believe Biafra should have been allowed to secede and any zone the wants to go should go. The death of 3m innocent civilians is a heavy toll to pay and there needs to be a Truth committee to bring out all the stories with massive monuments made for those who laid down their lives. Angels don't go to war on earth and the truth is the first casualty of war. But please don't act as if Awolowo was this liar while Ojukwu was holier than Christ. |
Was Awo the governor of the bank of Biafra? Ojukwu should have recompensed the loss with his vast wealth. Or found a way to make the Biafran pounds he was printing solvent. How would Nigeria stand behind a currency it did not print nor is not aware of its total circulation or its solvency! |
If you accept that Ojukwu did not obey Gowon's orders then Ojukwu kept Awo in prison for what reason? So you want to wage a war in which you need the West but are holding a Western Leader in your prison. You then "release" him when you think you've built up your army and then what? Release him so he can do what? Ojukwu just wanted to replace Gowon. The Jan 1966 coup was a raw attempt to grab power, it failed and unfortunately 3 million people died after an evil sequence of events. |
