dammybrite: Stanbic IBTC just removed the money now, the rate is roughly 15% my estimation thats will be good news if tody rates was actually 15% if someone lock 60mill for 364days, thats will be 60mill x 15% = 9million Minus extra Bank charges! In my states, A Landlord/Landlady with 5 Storey Building is earnig just 3.6 Million in a years, so why cant i leave the stress of Tenant and lock in Tbills |

Gavrelino123: The last rate for 364 days(1year) was 14.5% Hence,14.5% of 1,000,000=145,000(less residual charges) You will get 145,000 per annum Less residual charges........ well if this is really how 364days tenor is calc, then i will lock for 1yrs by next month feb in Gtb. let me say if someone invested 60mill for 364days at 14.8% that will be 60,000,000 x 14.8% = 8,880,000 minus Bank Charge! i hope i got it right? because normally i got half percentages of 364days tenor while lockin in 182days tenor |

unite4real: I will continue to remind all that CBN has learned from the last high interest rate and is better prepared now for speculators. The longer you wait for the 18%, the more you loose money by keeping your funds idle. It will be more painful if while waiting for 18%, rates start to drop after the election. I think if you get a 15% now, pls lock it. When it comes to money, it is a seed and every day counts. yes u re 99% right and ofcourse time is money |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by janga(m): 10:25am On Jan 17, 2019 |
TONY56: From the results of the Treasury Bills auctioned yesterday, it's very obvious that the CBN deliberately refused to allow the rate for the 364-day tenor to be higher than the stop rate of 15% by refusing to sell all the amount they initially put on offer.
If CBN had allowed all the about N193 billion on offer to sail through, the rates would have probably be as high as 18% or more. So to prevent that scenario, they sold only about N119.59 billion instead of the initially offered N193 billion.
It's very interesting too to know that this time around, most subscribers preferred the shorter terms of 91days and 182days to the longer term of 364days probably because of the coming elections as people are trying to be cautious with their investments.
Me thinks that the rate for the 364days is likely to go up in the next 2 weeks. well what the side effect of locking in longer tenor “364days” during this coming election. Even if war occur in Nigeria during this election, the probability of recovering your Naira even if you didn’t lock in Tbills is very low because almost everything will be affected! maybe am wrong? |

Internetboy: I plan to invest in TB day. I operate accounts with GTBANK ,FIRST BANK AND STANBIC BANK . Pls which BANK is better to use in general . It's the primary bidding over for the week ? If yes , should I invest in secondary market immediately or wait till next bidding for primary market option ? STANBIC BANK "Someone said primary market rate is far better than secondary market rate . What's the difference between the two markets" in primary market, the Bank need to wait till auction day to get the rate while in secondary market, the Bank already know the rate to use which gotten 4rm previous primary market |
