I see. Very possible. But I doubt any concrete plan how that would play out. Russia is busy with Ukraine and more guilty of what Israel is being accused of. I doubt China would also see it as a priority. The rocket boy in North Korea is crazy and unpredictable but he would be roundly dealt with. Lebanon and Iran would prefer to stay out.

I've been wondering what really Hamas war plan was when it launched the Oct 7 attack. They couldn't have been banking only on Hezbollah (obviously Hezbollah was a back up plan). Or they thought world pressure would stop Israel? Or they thought their capacity to rapidly fire over 5,000 rockets on day one was show of strength? It can't be possible that they didn't know Israel would come heavily on them. Or they thought if that happened, Iran would join to fight Israel and eventually drag Arab nations? Did they think all this through before they launched the attack. I recall on that day one, Gaza residents were on the street jubilating and hamas proudly announced they have enough captives to negotiate release of all Palestinian prisoners. What amazes me about reportage of this war so far is that aljazeera has NEVER even on a few words criticised hamas in all this.
