Nothing can replace life. The hurt and bitterness is for life. Someone i know whose father was hacked down by Islamic warriors while trying to jump the fence in his house to escape the mob is today a psychiatric patient. Those who took Deborah's life and other murderers doing same thing all over are not human and can not stand for or represent anything meaningful. |

I'm beginning to see a part of Tinubu which is commendable. Even if he loses, it'll be gratifying to know that he tried. He has been resilient, building bridges, lobbying and so on. Better than some of his contemporaries who rushed to align with the beautiful bride from the north. I wish the presidency moves to either the southeast, southsouth or southwest. Good to know we still have contenders from these three regions who are seriously lobbying others, which is what politics is all about. Even if Tinubu loses now, his current campaign has put his region ahead in future contests. |

oseahumenb: Declaration by lazy youths. I weep for the youths of this generation. I can recur vividly during our student activism days in the 90s. NANS, NLC and TUC have failed us. They can only bark but cannot bark. Imagine NANS issuing still issueing threats when they are supposed to already been in action. The action should have started since last month. This threat is done to attract their own share of the loot... Shame on NLC, shame on NANS, shame on TUC In those days even military government respected students. Ask Kayode Ogundamisi, Sankara etc. What you use to identify students union president on campus then was the megaphone that was always close by. Now, student leaders have official cars, move in convoy and are on the payroll of politicians. I really don't blame the students. Our politicians have ruined us in every way. That's what happens when people get away easily with massive daylight robbery and corruption. |

It's not for fear of harm. I'd do this for two reasons: memory of my son's mother and what we shared, and second for my son, so I'll be at peace with my son's family. Doing this is nothing compared to a live that's lost. Moreso that it is a matter of tradition. Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's. It takes not much from you and everyone will eventually get over the grief and move on to do more great things in life. What will not be erased is the role each person played now. This is not a lawyer's issue. |

My assessment is that the development is more concentrated in Nairobi, unlike Nigeria with several developed cities far apart. What we see here is comparable to VI, Lagos. But no doubt, Nairobi is a very beautiful city with nice people but they appear more western and willing to play down their African nature and culture unlike Nigerians. You find that in their food and their perception of anything white or western. Nigerians are indeed more African with no apologies. |

I once changed money on arrival from an itinerant aboki in Lagos airport. I watched him count and I was sure I got the right amount. Went straight to my destination. Getting to my destination, I was shocked to see that a substantial sum had 'disappeared '. I called people to share my story & some of them told me that even the remaining amount would disappear before morning. I kept it on a table near my bed and watched it all through the night to see how it would fly. It didn't disappear. Obviously aboki did a fast one on me. |

Family › Re: Can I Sue My Father For Selling Our Inheritance, His Properties Anyhow? by janvier27(m): 4:48pm On Apr 23, 2022 |
ETHICALLYrlght: You can't sue someone for his property. The case will be struck out for no cause of action.
Your father owns valid titles to the real properties through first settlement. Put differently, he bought the plots of land from nobody but inherited it customarily as a descendant of those who settled there first.
I presume based on the preceding paragraph that the land documents are not registered at the land registry of your state because from experience the first document descendants of first settlers prepare regarding their land is usually a deed of gift, deed of lease, deed of assignment or power of attorney depending on the circumstances.
My advice is that you should get very close to your father this period. Let everyone believe you are his favourite son. Show him how to enjoy the internet with a smartphone. Encourage him to eat wheat instead of Garri or Akpu or Amala etc.... You know all those things his mates like
During this period, learn his signature, prepare a deed of gift and get your close allies including your sister as witnesses. It's even better if you can make him sign the paper himself through misrepresentation (This is a special course I can tutor you on). Register the deed of gift at the appropriate registry and pay the required dues to the government registry. To be more smooth get registered surveyors to survey the land and register the survey plans with the government in your name.
You have all commercial banks need to grant you a loan. When you've successfully mortgaged the properties, use that money to do something good for yourself. BENEFITS 1. Your father will not be able to sell a land you mortgaged to the bank. The bank will take him to court and deed of gift you presented to the bank will be a superior title. 2. The bank will not own the land as long as you invested the loan wisely and follow the repayment plan honestly. 3. After the expiration of each mortgage, begin new mortgages to further expand your investments. But ensure you always repay your loan. 4. Your father will pass on while the case lingers in the court. I trust NIGERIAN courts (15 years no judgment just adjournments) 5. When he passes on, end all mortgages and keep the land if you wish. DISADVANTAGES If you believe in curses don't try this. I do not believe in them forgery and misrepresentation invalidates the deed |
