God of mercy angry angry huh

I'm always very scared of Abuja roads...they are so smooth , wide & free.

It's really sad! RIP

Op, which one be Bwari jere? Is it the same place as Buwari?
Same here. I dread Abuja roads.
RomanceRe: Why Don't We See Rich Nigerian Single Ladies Marry Not-so-rich Nigerian Guys? by Jarus(m): 10:29pm On Sep 27, 2015
Simple: You hardly find them together (higher class school, high-end shopping malls, business/first class flights). You wont find children of the poor there. The children of the rich meet in these places.

jarus, let me clear ur doubt and educate u.
yes, akwa ibom recieves the highest allocation in nigeria, but is it a gift?infact are they not bin cheated on?

yes akwa ibom is home to Exxon and others, but are u aware that Mobil doesn't pay a dime to akwa ibom as IGR cos they claim that their headquarters is in Lagos, hence their tax is bin paid to Lagos state govt, thus cheating us.as per receiving the highest IGR than the entire northern region,it is false and alarming.is kano state not a northern state?

please post the pictures of such roads and remember that katsina has produced two presidents and millions of beggars
I seriously doubt Mobil doesnt pay a dime to Akwa Ibom. Yes, their H/Office being in Lagos, majority of their permanent staff will be in Lagos and their PAYE payable to Lagos, but I doubt they wont have employees in Eket, no matter how small.

By the way, my company has operations in Akwa Ibom, and is part of the "others" I mentioned, and as the personnel in charge of the company's tax, I know how much I pay to Akwa Ibom state government every month. Professional confidentiality will not allow me to name names and figures here, but as a tax man, I know what I'm saying.

nigerianvenom:
the entire northern nigeria can never have a man like akpabio, even their almajiri president can never achieve what akpabio achieved in akwa ibom under 8years assuming he even channel nigeria's entire budget to katsina.
akwa ibom and katsina were created same day in 1987,but unfortunately, akwa ibom have left it behind.while katsina is bereft of ideas about growth , akwa ibom is leaping higher than expected.
watch out that state in the next 5 years
Are you aware that Akwa Ibom receives the highest allocation in Nigeria?

Are you aware that Akwa Ibom, the home of ExxonMobil andmany other oil companies, generates (or has potential to generate) more IGR than any northern state?

Have you seen the roads in Katsina? Do you know the fraction of money that goes to Katsina in comparison to Akwa Ibom's?

Merely seeing the article title, I knew many people will not understand that article.

Half of the comments that followed on the first page alone proved me right.

We have serious comprehension challenge in this country.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Rule 22 Against Asking For Money On Nairaland by Jarus(m): 7:35pm On Sep 20, 2015

Not everyone in here knows TEHN. Some don't even know how to go about contacting TEHN for assistance. Some needs are extremely urgent that need urgent attention. Having to go through verification before broadcasting some time. I suggest you insert the link to TEHN thread in your post.
TEHN has taken up many health cases on Nairaland.

At the moment, a Nairalander's university is being fully funded by Nairalanders through TEHN.

Another student-Nairalander is being sponsored on scholarship by a Nairalander in conjunction with TEHN.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Rule 22 Against Asking For Money On Nairaland by Jarus(m): 6:36pm On Sep 20, 2015
This is double-edge sword. As an active member of TEHN, the voluntary network of Nairalanders that decided to coordinate linking helpers to the needy on Nairaland with considerable achievements so far, this rule will not be welcome.

But at the same, I understand where Seun is coming from - abuse of such and damage to Nairaland reputation if anything goes wrong.

Yet, I don't think throwing the baby away with the bathwater is the impediment. Just stricter.

After all, I'm not aware of any case of fraud from donations yet, all cases of frauds on NL are from businesses gone wrong. Do we ban businesses (eg auto section deals) totally because of this?

In the final analysis, it is your discretion.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Rule 22 Against Asking For Money On Nairaland by Jarus(m): 6:27pm On Sep 20, 2015
Godmother:
Exactly! Seun this won't be a rule, but an infringement sort off. Everyone recognises that this is an open forum and care should be exercised when dealing in money issues. So nobody holds nairaland responsible when something goes wrong. If you enforce this rule you will only succeed in frustrating some genuine people looking for help.
It goes beyond that. There's a reputational issue.

Ok I get you. I asked because one of the pix you posted above included a raft (?) foundation of what appears a bigger building together with the already roofed building and I mistakenly jumped into conclusion that the roofed building must be the BQ. If you've spent 7 mill so far, you may easily spend over 10 mill at completion for a bungalow. Are you happy with the spend so far or you think you could have done better in some areas?
Maybe we could have done better, but we did close monitoring of purchases as much as possible.

With 1.5m, this should be rounded up, insha Allaah.

However, I spent well over 10m on my Kwara bungalow, though it has better design and a twin-BQ.

1, Never Show Up Under/Over-Dressed

Your explanation somehow departs from your point. But I agree with you never to be under or overdressed for interview. However, having been given opportunity to interview with them, sometimes, your performance may overshadow your folded CV and sweat-stained cloth. But again, that's an exception.

Simple Principle of business: Don't openly criticise anyone or any group and advertise in the same post. It is called business diplomacy or circumspection. You never can tell who is going to want to do business with you. That can put off a potential customer/client.
