Apart from confirming from PT, I also asked around from friends I know should be able to say something, from someone in a leading newspaper house, to a friend that served in First Bank executive office when he was ED, to a friend that has known him for years - all of them confirmed independently, each giving a different story. They cannot all be wrong.

I contacted SLS himself, and he said he would reply to the official allegations.
Politics › Re: Sanusi, His CBN Mistress And Their Escapades - Premium Times by Jarus(m): 7:37am On Jun 03, 2013
Also, the details in the story are too brazen to be false.

I also know one of the guys in PT to a great investigative journalist. He was Afrcan iInvestigative journalist of the year in 2011, I think. These guys came from NEXT newspaper and we know how investigative NEXT was.

As regards the phone details, that's actually easy. If anybody gives me his phone number here, I can tell him an sms he sent at a specific time yesterday or the person he called at so so time. So that bit wasn't surprising to me.

I have investigated phone number in the past, when someone sent an anonymous sms to my dad accusing me of something. All I needed was to collect the number (whoich the culprit bought for that purpose) and pulled my network weight in Glo and MTN. Within 5 hoiurs, I unofficially got the details I needed - from the location of the person when he sent the messages and calls, to the mast that received it, to other people he used that line to call, to other messages he sent, to other numbers he called, to the picture (which he used to register the line) of one of the people he called etc.

So with that experience, I knew how easy it is to get anybody's call/sms history. So that bit was easy to believe.

Expectedly, I got to see that story yesterday from two different friends who knew me as a big SLS fan and mentee.

Immediately I saw the story I had mixed feeling - another propaganda from the toes he stepped into? Or a true?

If it were to be one hungry blogger or attention-seeking news site, it would have been easy for me to dismiss the story as paid machination, but this is PT. Knowing a couple of guys behind PT, I don't think they will accept money just to tarnish anyone's image. I rate PT above SR sef in investigative journalism, because, although SR also doesn't fabricate, their hurry in reporting often make their stories fraught with inaccuracies sometimes (like Patience's illness, wher they kept changing what the illness is, up to 5 different ailments alleged at different times, yet claiming authoritative sources in each report. But you hardly see this kind of things in PT. They are more accurate and not given to needless sensationalism.

All these made it difficult for me to dismiss the story even as I know that anything is possible in Nigeria (everyone has a price, including PT).

I swung into action, sent a message to the top guy in PT to confirm the story.

Jarus: How real is your story on SLS?

PT guy: To the best of my knowledge, it's real
> On Jun 2, 2013, at 1:01 PM,

Jarus: Ok. It's because of you I give credibility to PT. If it was to be a hungry news site or just any blog, would have dismissed it.

PT: Thanks for the kind words. There are lots of other credible guys in PT. We understand how highly a lot of Nigerians hold the subject of the story. We also understand how difficult it is for a lot of people to swallow these bitter disclosures. But PT has no choice than to allow the facts guide it.

To be continued.
why dont Nigeria play country like Brazil or england
Ignorance.

National team football deosnt end in Brazil or England. To think this Mexico beat Brazil with Neymar in last Olympics final.

The problem with football watchers like you is that after Spain, Brazil, Italy, Argentina, Germany, Holland and maybe England, you probably don't know know that other decent footballing nations like Uruguay, Paraguay, Mexico, Denmark exist. Unfortunately, people like you are in the majority in Nigeria. This is why we always dismiss matches with Mexico, Uruguay, Denmark and similar teams as walk-in-the-park for Nigeria, and get our fingers burnt. If Nigeria want to play Uruguay tomorrow, people like you will see it as a small team, not knowing Uruguay is almost in same class with the Italys of this world in fo0tball, a sem$i finalist in last world cup, a team that has players Nigeria can only dream of like Suarez and Cavani, and until recently Forlan.

Nigeria football fans think footbal end in Brazil or England. Ignorance.

Funny people.
Not to forget they are defending oympic champions, beating Neymar-full Brazil in final. A good number of their players have since graduated to national team.

2-2 against Mexico is a great result.
NYSC › Re: A Corper Needs Assistance To Publish His CDS Projects by Jarus(m): 3:09pm On May 31, 2013
mukina2: A CORPER IN NEED OF YOUR NOBLE ASSISTANCE IN PUBLISHING HIS PERSONAL CDS PROJECTS

I Am Corper Francis Chidozie Okoye with State Code KW/12B/0069 and Phone Number 08032969195, from Anambra State. A 2012 Batch-B Corps Member, Presently Serving in OFFA Grammar School OFFA, Kwara State, but will be Passing out on the 6th of June 2013.

I executed Eleven (11) Community Development Service Projects during my Service Year; which had direct impact on the community where I served.

Single-handedly, I constructed a Motorized BoreHole, Renovated NYSC Building, Constructed 20ft by 6ft Directional Bill Board and Constructed an Executive Peacock Bird (Okin bird) at Owode market Traffic
Junction, which is seen as the symbol and Pride of Offa Kingdom, and so many others.

As a corps member, I strongly believe that you have passed through this road some time in the pass, and you already know and understand where am coming from.

Serving in Kwara State is not as comfortable as other States, because the Government and PPA don’t pay Corpers.

We are only dependent on our federal monthly allowance, which is not even enough at the end of the day. I can’t really say how I had my way, to put up all this projects, because I suffered a lot of insults and humiliation from members of the community and corps members. After the commissioning, I could not boost of feeding money, because I ran dry, trying to put up this projects.

My dreams and vision is to put a smile on the faces of less privileged ones in the community and by the special grace of God; it was achieved.

Please, in the spirit of service, I humbly appeal for your assistance in publishing my Story, 'YOUTH CORPER EXECUTED 2.5MILLION NAIRA PROJECTS IN OFFA KWARA STATE' edited by a Radio Reporter who was present during the commissioning on the 14th May 2013 at OFFA Local Government Secretariat Hall.

Mr. Okoye Francis Chidozie hails from Abatete in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. A Graduate of Electrical Electronics Engineering, Anambra State University Uli; Posted to OFFA Grammar School, OFFA Kwara State for his Compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Program.

Piqued by the absence of some social facilities and the passion to be outstanding and truly fulfill the fundamental purpose of his service year, he decided to write his name in gold and leave his footprints in the sands of time with laudable CDS Projects which had direct impact on the entire community like

-Construction of a Motorized Bore Hole at Owode market Offa.*

-Renovation of NYSC Building (Secretariat) Offa Local Government.*

-Construction of 20ft/6ft Directional Bill Board that bears “welcome to
Owode market Offa”.

-Construction of Executive Peacock Bird (Okin bird) at Owode market Police
Traffic Junction.

- Donation of 2000 writing materials to six selected primary schools in Offa
Local Government.

-Donation one hundred pieces of treated Mosquito nets to one hundred
families in Offa rural area

-(Net-A-Child Project).

-Donation of one hundred Pairs of school sandals to five selected Primary
schools in Offa.*

- Donation of one hundred WAEC Recommended Novels (blind trust) and one
hundred Pens to one hundred (100) SS1 students in Offa Grammar School (his
PPA) that performed excellently (85 above) in the computer studies
examination he taught in seven classes.

-Organized Quiz Competition Among all NYSC CDS Groups in Offa LGA at Okin
Fm Radio Station Offa.

-Trained Less Privileged Mothers in Offa on Skills Acquisition, on how to
Bake Cake, Chin-Chin, Donut, Fish Roll, Egg Roll, Meat Pea & Buns; and
Empowered them with Coal Pot, Baking Flower and a Bottle of Vegetable Oil
(One For Each Person).

-Enumerated one hundred Families in Offa LGA, through MDG United Nations
“My World Global Survey”.

This gesture attracted an Award of Excellency and a Cash Reward of N50,000 to Corper Francis, From OFFA Local Government. Recommendation Letters from OFFA Descendant Union, His Royal Majesty, the Olofa of Offa, Owode Market Traders Association, OFFA Grammar School, Igbo Community Association Offa and OFFA Local Government Secretariat. Commendations, from Community Leaders, Government Agencies, Corporate Organizations around and Officials of the NYSC.

Those present at the Commissioning were full of praises to the 25-Year-old Corper because he has demonstrated that even amid a generation that is selfish, greedy with common trait of a Me-First attitude, there are some individual who may not occupy any political or economic office but determined to make use of their personal resources to put smiles on the faces of people they encounter or even people in any environment they find themselves. Such may not be born with a silver spoon in their mouth, but an innate quality to impact positively on the lives of people coupled with determination and focus that drives them on.

Against this backdrop, the initiatives of Mr. Francis Okoye, With Registration Number KW/12B/0069 is worth considering.

This noble idea of a selfless youth should be encouraged with not just Verbal Commendations but with State, National and International Awards. The time, money and energy this Second Class Upper Degree (Elect Elect Eng.) holder from Anambra State University Uli could have been channeled into personal programs or that which will benefit his nuclear and extended families or even better him lots in lives but for his humane nature, decided to develop a community where he spent just 11 to 12 months.

The communities that are benefiting from these projects should as matters of necessity encourage him with a Traditional Title that will encourage others to do same.

He spoke with the Press and promised never to give up in rendering social services to people wherever he goes, not minding the inherent challenges. He advised other youths to be selfless and always contribute their quota to the development of their communities and the nation alike.

Without being Preemptive, we are optimistic that Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmen, the Executive Governor of Kwara State and the Presidency will honour this Hard Working Man for his heroic and outstanding projects.

He appreciated his Sponsors, Contributors and Advisers. .

He also appreciated the people that guided and directed him all through his stay in Kwara State. In his words, “They made me feel at home even when am not home”. He is so grateful to the Management and Staff of NYSC Secretariat Ilorin.

Finally, he remained indebted to his parents Chief and Mrs. Christopher Okoye, His Siblings Ebele Okoye, Nkeiruka Okoye, Somtochukwu Okoye and Ogechukwu Okoye for their endless Love, Prayers and Encouragement.”

Yours Brother In Service.

Corper Okoye Chidozie Francis

Webmasters › I Make Money From Twitter - Omojuwa by Jarus(op): 3:06pm On May 31, 2013
Twitter personality and political blogger, Japheth Omojuwa, in this interview tells TEMITAYO FAMUTIMI how he succeeded in monetising his handle, @omojuwa

Many people know you as a prominent person on the Nigerian Twitter space. What do you really do for a living?

I have monetised social media. I have also featured on speaking platforms across five continents over the last 12 months and this has been rewarding. I consult for a couple of civil society organisations – including the West African Civil Society Organisation in Ghana and the German Heinrich Boell Foundation.

You are also known to be a political blogger. Was it by accident?

I blog about many things but the political side of me came to the fore during the OccupyNigeria movement. Nothing led me into the foray of political blogging. What leads Nigerians into talking about Nigeria and its politics? The difference in the reason is not in what leads us into talking about our country but the platform we choose to make our voices heard. I am not angrier, not more intelligent nor more passionate than the average Nigerian. I may be privileged to have popular platforms for which to be heard more than the average person.

When did you sign up for Twitter and how did you come about growing a huge following on the social network?

February 2009. I joined under a different name but I started my current handle @omojuwa February of 2009. It has been organic. I started like everyone else. I had moments where I was the focus of Twitter’s attention like most people but unlike most people I have been consistent. I have also been at the right place at the right time with certain events too.

What handle were you using before @omojuwa and is it still functional?

It is @alphareach. Still functional but I’m not tweeting from it anymore. I can’t remember when I created it.

What tweet brought you into limelight on the Nigerian Twitter space?

I don’t know. It is easy to forget a popular tweet and the popularity of the person who tweets it eventually fades in a day or two. Twitter is not about that one powerful tweet, it’s about a consistent pull of several powerful, witty wits. In the “outside world” no one is renowned for being a one-off, you are renowned for being consistent with excellence. It is the same with Twitter.

What strategies have you devised to drive discussions around issues on Twitter?

No special strategies. Being myself works for me. Being myself is enough. I say what I want to say, how I want to say it and how I choose to say it. In a place where following the crowd is the norm, those who choose to do things their way will definitely find people following them. I care about people. I want them to be aware, I want them to know, I want them to be better and I want them to want to wake up, looking forward to possibilities beyond the usual and the boring. An individual does not need the so-called strategies to stand out on social media but organisations certainly do. “Social” must be at the core for organisations.

Is it possible for one to generate/make money through one’s Twitter handle?

It is possible but your loyalty and allegiance must always be to your followers. The how is in the art of brand communications. People don’t want to be sold to but they want to buy. Subtlety is the way! You can adopt brands and simply become their social media ambassador. You can share information about events and products. Mind that numbers are everything and you must have a sizable number of followers for anyone to bank his/her money on you to reach consumers.

Have you been making money through your Twitter handle?

I make money from my Twitter account. My football tweets have been branded since January 2013. I don’t tweet football just for fun anymore, I earn real cash for sending my virtual football opinions. I also share my experience about my favourite brands. Where the said brand wants my shared experience sustained, we then begin to talk about what’s in it for the trinity; the brand, my followers and myself. As long as we get something in it for my followers then we will be very close to doing business. Where my followers have nothing to gain, no business.

How much do you charge per tweet?

How much I charge per tweet is not something I want to put a figure to in a public place. I charge enough to make many brands look another way. Twitter makes money for having us on its platform. We spend a lot of time on these platforms. Millions of people are on these platforms. It is an opportunity to create value for even more people outside our physical sphere of influence. Money is one of the reactions of an action called value creation.

How many brands are you an ambassador for on Twitter?

Two permanent ones at the moment. Others are period specific.

What are the names of these brands?

It is in my best interest not to share.

How has your foray into political blogging and your Twitter profile opened doors for you?

My social media profile has opened more than doors. It has opened cities, countries and continents. I am beyond political blogging. I am Omojuwa, a total package. There are people who follow me for reasons that are outside of the politics I talk about. There are people who follow me just because I am just as ordinary as they are. They follow me because they now know that being ordinary is not the same thing as being limited. I am ordinary but that I can do extraordinary things means that I can also inspire ordinary people like myself to aspire, be better, go upward, forward and conquer the world.

I am a just another Nigerian who cares about the country, who thinks about the continent and who thinks that within each African country lies a little seed that when planted in belief, competence and passion and watered with synergy, can make change happen.

How was your background like?

I was at King’s College, Lagos. I studied Agricultural Economics at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, I did a bit of Brand Communications at Orange Academy, Lagos. Now I have been attending policy and governance sessions across the continents. I have always been about understanding phenomena and the world around me. I have always been a fan of what the teacher and lecturer cannot teach. I have always been in search of the esoteric. I was born and bred in Lagos, now I enjoy seeing the world one city at a time.

Covopfinconsult: Recent findings from public surveys conducted in Nigeria reveal that over 30 million young Nigerians (below 40years) are unemployed or under-employed.
Why? Many people say government caused it all. But i disagree with them because even in developed nations of the world like UK, USA,Germany,Spain etc, there are still millions of jobless youths.Though, past and present Nigerian leaders have failed us in the area of job creation but the truth is that over 80% of reasons for joblessness are personal. Then, what are the real reasons for joblessness, here are 10 of them below

(1) Lack of discovery of individual potentials
(2) Wrong choice of academic or career pursuits
(3) Low creativity and innovation
(4) Wrong public opinion
(5) Personal sentiment
(6) Laziness
(7) Over dependence on corporate jobs
(cool Get rich quick syndrome
(9) Unwillingness to serve others or start small
(10)Ignorance of available job opportunities.

Are you presently unemployed or under-employed?Conduct a thorough self examination to see if one these reasons is the cause.

Fashola is not your typical politician, more of an administrator. But it is difficult to rate Aregbe's kind of smartness over Fashola's smart carriage and intelligence. Hence, I will pick Fashola smartest governor (defining smartness as intelligence, not street-smartness).

Emperoh: Just to get discussion goings,

I just got an email now for an interview with a UNDP office in Abuja and to be frank, i am tempted to go.
I think this was one of the applications i did and forgot about while i was seriously searching.
The role is practically for the same thing i am doing now, but i am being tempted by the effect UNDP will have on my CV at some point in my career.

But where i am currently is just as good and i am just about into my 4th month on the job which is why it sounds crazy to me. I do get bored easily if work stream remains the same. This job has not shown that since i try to engage with depts outside my principal duty when i am less busy. Also, this one is not as hectic as i initially envisaged. But in all, i do love to stay here and get some mileage; at least 3 years though everyone works on a 3 year renewable contract.

Now, my question is this, how do your guys see such a short timed movement given that i just resumed here in February? I am more concerned about the reputation damage that could come with it if it doesn't go down well with my employers and also the fact that i like the team as it is now.

Also, who's done this before and how did it go? Let the talks and ideas flow in.

Will appreciate the input of Ajanlekoko, Cece, Suraj etc.
Attend the interview and see the outcome. UNDP, no doubt, is a boost on your CV, being an international organization.

No big deal in moving within 3 months of joining a company. No be your papa get the company. Even here, one of our oyinbo ogas left within 3 months (probably got a better offer).

But look well too, especially on job security. Is the UNDP contract not a short-term contract one as most of those jobs are? Compare with job security in your current place too.

In any case, still go ahead with the UNDP interview, doesn't stop you from rejecting the offer if you get it and is not better than your current.

Afam4eva: You only pay tax for service been rendered to you. What service is the Nigerian government rendering to Twitter and facebook?
Tax is not price, that you pay for service being rendered to you. If you earn income within a territory, you are subject to that territory's tax, irrespective of whether you enjoyed anything in that territory.
Webmasters › Re: Should Facebook And Twitter Pay Tax In Nigeria? by Jarus(m): 9:02am On May 24, 2013
The general rule regarding taxation of foreign company in Nigeria is:

If company is not a Nigerian company, does not have a 'fixed base' in Nigeria, and performs the service outside Nigeria, it is not subject to Nigerian income tax.

Now, let's put Facebook, Twitter and Google to these tests:

1, Definitely not a Nigerian company
2, No fixed base in Nigeria (not aware of Facebook or Twitter having office in Nigeria- but I think there is Yahoo office in Nigeria - so Yahoo may have failed thsi test.)
3, The contentious part is whether the service is performed in Nigeria - this may be debatable. Twitter and Facebook may claim they perform all the programming and whatever makes teh advert show in Nigeria, right from their US office. Nigerian government may claim they earn the revenue in Nigeria. Not sure, I will be able to have a definitive conclusion on this, but I'm inclined to concluding Twitter and Facebook have stronger case, based on how the tax law stands today - they performed teh service from US.

I think there should be a fresh set of laws guiding internet taxation.

jp philips: Mr jarus, madueke's DSO cannot pass for a gas model in this 21st century, even animals will find it ludicrous.

you mentioned and i quote;

" Encourage investment in Nigerian
petroleum industry"

how is the PIB encouraging investments in the pet. industry? increasing taxes i guess? jarus wake up!

lemme ask you again? who are the people that has the capital required to invest in the oil industry? civil servants or politicians?

of course, at the demise of willbros, ibori's Ascot took over, does it ring a bell?
who is minning OKORO field today? should i remind you? Rilwanu lukman perhaps Afren rings a bell.
Akpo field nko? 35% goes to Sapetro, and who is sapetro? Ty danjuma.

Mr jarus i ask you again, who is actually benefiting from this indigenization galore as enshrined by the PIB? the Nigerian people or the politicians?

while you are still thinking let me quickly take you to the ports aka free trade zones the seat of oil and gas logistics.

previous sane administrations had made all FOT's and FLT's free trade zones to reduce logistics cost for oil companies. what is obtainable today? Atiku's intel is charging companies higher than NPA is charging for clearing. has the "free" part of the FTZ not been defeated?

to crown it all, he has monopoly over all the FTZ in the country.
have you imagined paying $800 for a square meter space? that is what Atiku's Intel will charge you the day you will sleep over in any FTZ in Nigeria.

Mr jarus, who is actually benefiting from the so called indigenization as enshrined by your PIB without any implementation frame work?

what provision of the PIB takes care of monopoly in our FTZ to encourage further investments in the oil and gas industry as enshrined by the PIB?

jarus you said and i quote;

" Create efficient and effective
regulatory agencies"

who are the regulatory agencies in the industry?

DPR? and PIB wants to unbundle it? what about scrapping it for starters?
the same DPR that doesnt know how much oil Nigeria is producing?

dept of aboki resources that cant even regulate themselves let alone other companies?

what training as per level and qualification does the PIB recommend for the so called unbundled DPR? i guess none, same ol same ol.
change their name, retain their incompetence.

madueke wadoo!!

Mr jarus the PIB is an official document that will hand over foreign assets to our politicians. there is absolutely nothing there for you.

they will promise you jobs but what you will get in the end is under employment, suffering and agony.

i could remember those days when a foreign catering company west end was still active in offshore locations, their workers were paid very well compare it with the indigenous company that has taken over
SJ Abed, a politician has the temerity to be paying an offshore staff 25k with hard labor.

an offshore catering job is the hardest job i cant wish my enemy, because of the 24hrs nature of their operation, those guys dont sleep.

i feel so sorry for them, 25k for all the risks. that is wickedness thanks
to madueke and her indigenisation policy without implementation frame work.

A blackman is truly a black mind

human beings are enslaved and jarus calls it employment? i dey laugh!!
LOL. Bro, u vex o. Why not contest for PENGASSAN presidency as I can see your activist bend.

I will not go into arguments that will involve naming names, as the names you are mentioning up there are familiar ones. I have my job to protect.

I'm also disappointed in the flaring permit part. Probably, I should have added a section as ' Downside of PIB' listing the loopholes in the PIB as it is now.

jp philips: @ jarus

it is disheartening that you carefully outlined the rosy prospects of the PIB but fail to include any implementation framework for those anticipated roses to really turn red.
how i wish i was still in the kindergerten where we once believed that goats can fly.

you claim that the bill seek to achieve this

" • Create a conducive business
environment for petroleum
operations"

my question is howhuh

the PIB is clear on areas of increased taxation for producing companies which in your euphoria we expect our brothers to join that league soon.
my question is:

how does increased taxation achieve your quote above?

that phrase above is too vague to be taken seriously, tell us in clear terms how the PIB wish to achieve that quote.

you said and i quote

" Enhance exploitation and
exploration of petroleum resources in
Nigeria for the benefit of Nigerians"

this is another $¡lly and vague statement

which laws in the PIB will achieve the above??

the last time i checked, Nigerians especially the Niger daltans have been at the receiving end of pains, agony and environmental degradation precipitated by oil exploration, i have not seen any part of the PIB that adressed that or have you seen?

which agency or MDA has the PIB empowered to handle that?

i was not suprised when you carefully skipped the flaring part of the PIB, where it stated that it will encourage Zero flaring with a caveat that madueke will have the authority to issue renewable flaring permits.

how does that solve the green house issues associated with flaring? or another madueke's gimmick for creating "choppings" for her exalted office. lemme ask you, how much do you think madueke will charge through the backdoor for flaring permits?? your guess is as good as mine.

we cannot be bamboozled that the so called PIB is in the interest of Nigerians.

I have it on good authority to state here that 95% of indigenous oil and gas workers have no single insurance welfare.

we are talking about men and women who kiss their loved ones goodbye on a daily basis to face one of the riskiest activity in the history of mankind yet their ignoble employers deem it unfit to insure their lives.

again i ask, where does the PIB address that?

if an insurance policy does not mean well for Nigerians in the oil industry, i wonder what does.
in case you forgot, the Americans rated oil and gas exploration as the 8th riskiest job in the world which over the years has defined a noble welfare package for her citizens in that field.

let me ask you again, where in the PIB does the Nigerian govt. peg a living wage for oil and gas workers in lieu of their occupational hazard?

if all these are not in place, how did jarus come to the sane conclusion that the PIB addressed the interest of Nigerians?

one may argue in ignorance that my concerns above are basically the duty of the union but i stand to be corrected that neither NUPENG nor PENGASSN has a legal shot if they were to go to court in the absence of fundamental laws.

what leaverage does an oil and gas employee have if he or she institutes a court action against an employer who has failed in the above regard?

let me reiterate for the upteenth time that oil and gas operations are not like teaching, banking or other conventional jobs, it a career where faith dangles life and death before anyone who is actively involved. from the terrain, non adiabatic conditions, logistics, climate, flammability of hydrocarbons to mention a few.

for the PIB to conviniently ignore those lucid but unequivocal challenges that average Nigerians face in the oil industry is an insult to people who live through it and a reflection of the incompetence madueke is made of.

you said again and i quote

" Optimize domestic gas supplies,
especially for power generation and
industrial development"

this part is the most laughable. how i wish you read further to appreciate madueke's ingenuity.
Madueke told Nigerians that her gas solution is a DSO from MNC's.

rightly put, madueke wants to go begging for gas from multinational companies.
no doubt the PIB outlined modalities of expansion for NGC (Nigerian gas company),
my question is this; what has Ngc achieved for over a decade of operation?

the case before the senate instituted by the delta state elders has spoken volume of the modalities of acquisition madueke had in mind for both NGC and NPDC.

who are the so called partners, financiers, jv operators of the much touted marginal fields? lemme guess, politicians? lips sealed.

Mr jarus, we know the real beneficiaries of the PIB the Nigerian people are far from it.

back to the issue of gas, in the last decade, SHELL our minority jv partner has been investing heavily in gas gathering projects, Chevron (another minority jv partner) has not relented because the last time i checked their EGTL project has a gotten to phase 3b.

every sane mind knows that gas is the future from increasing gas prices to local demand viz power plants, madueke's PIB is still solving Nigeria's gas crises with her archaic DSO.

jarus please help me ask madueke to mention any sane country with gas deposit as much as Nigeria that is practicing her DSO model?

is it not commonsensical for madueke to come out with a gas gathering blueprint to harness our abundant gas resources like our jv partners are doing? this gas we are flaring to the tune of $2.3b annually.

the last time she begged for refineries and now gas and jarus is taking madueke serious.
First, while I believe PIB has prospects of achieving positive results for Nigeria, I have not claimed to hold brief for the Madueke or FG, or declare it a cure-all pill for the industry. In fact, if I have my way, there are areas I wish are amended before passing into law.

Second, I just did a summary of the PIB, and highlighted areas I think are highpoints. I however agree with you that I should have highlighted areas I believe are lowpoints too.

As an finance person in the industry, my primary area of interest are the fiscal terms, which of course will also be affected by the new structure. As an economist too, I'm interested in what it will bring to the macro-economy at large - though secondary (that's not my job, my job is: what will it bring to my company?)

I also realize you are having a dig at Madueke. I'm also not her fan, but you know this bill pre-dated her tenure (although it has undergone watering), and I can see she is struggling to ensure the bill is passed soon,if not for anything, so she can have it in records that PIB was passed during her tenure.

nathx: Truth be told, with all the money state govt and NDDC is getting, nothing is being done. The 10 percent going to the community, who gets it, the same government that will still steal it.
I work I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ the field, companies give contracts to an indegenous contractor, he settles his community and do α very low standard job, nottin d conpany can do, the same circle continues.
Sincerely, the PIB would do nottin for the community, it will only enrich the few community leaders and madueke.
You are correct, unfortunately.
