Encoredme: Nobody knows what really happened, but the event is true as I stay in awo hall. I heard the news on my way to my exam paper this morning. It is really saddening. There are different versions to the story.Hey Awo boy. I stayed in Awo for 5 years. When is ewa.zobot day? |
coogar: dayokanu and jarus should be investigated...O ti ya were o ![]() |

Crownvilla: @ OPThanks. I actually knew, but do mix them up. |
Good for him. Ona kan o w'oja. |
texaco1: thank u ,may god bless u,it is like messi or cr7 celebrating an hattrick against a country like nuie or swaziland.i know we won the match but everyone shouldnt get excited if anything our coaches should be worried that a team like tahiti was able to expose our defence.this is a team that is even happy they scored a goal in this tournament that is the on trophy ,they are fulfilled with that one goal.lets see how our midfield and defence will cope when we meet tough teamsHas anybody compared him with Messi or CR7? For a serie B player, scoring hattrick in a FIFA senior tournament, irrespective of the opponents, is an achievement by all standards. |
born2fuckpussy: When Greece won the Europe Cup, Kenya are better than them but disciplinary helps the greece and they won france and most big teams they played with. That his first goal (SE's second for teh night) was world class by all standard. The only way the defenders could have collected the ball was to pull him down for a penalty. |
born2fuckpussy: The guy proved he need a good manager to bring out the best in him, playing behind the striker seems to be the best position for him but can't judge him with that tahiti match alone but he has show he got talent and he need the right coachI agree with you you. He is not a 9/top-striker/center forward. He does better as a supporting striker or winger. He however needs to work more on his pace to do better as a winger. |
tellwisdom: Is kenya a team??..you should be ashamed to have said he saved you from bunch of amateursKenya has McDonald Mariga (Inter Milan loanee) and Victor Wanyama (Celtic, who scored against almighty Barca in an UCL match for that matter) and Daniel Oliech (Auxerre). If those are not top professionals, I don't know what they are. |
For those of us that passionately follow Nigerian football/footballers, Nnamdi Oduamadi is not a surprise. We have alerted about him on NL here far back 2010 https://www.nairaland.com/488570/nnamdi-oduamadi He is very skilfull, but I think he doesn't display such legovers again (maybe because of injury he sustained last year or coaching orientation in his Varesse club). He was Nigeria's best player in the olympics qualifiers ahead of London 2012 (though Nigeria did not qualify). |
milehigh06: what fifa tournament have u ever seen tahitiNigeria's under-20 thrashed them 5-0 in Egypt 2009(WYC). |
Thanks boss. Becoming more safety conscious. |
Funny comment I read on ESPN website by a commenter I hate teams that blow out weaker opponents. There should be a rule when a team reaches 5 goals, its game over ![]() |

SUBS Ideye: The sitter missing fest continued with him. Like Musa, Ujah, and Mba before him, he tried dribbling the keeper on one on one, when he could have sent the ball to angle before keeper gets near. He was still able to provide an assist for Oduamadi’s 3rd of the night. He also showed more poise than Ujah. 5/10 Ogu: Did well to assist Mikel in midfield. Performed better than Mba he replaced. His passes are also better. 6/10 Azubuike: Replaced yellow-carded Omeruo. Not much was seen of him. 5/10 COACH: Started our best legs available, benched a misfiring Ideye for Ujah, who disappointed them. Did well to remove Omeruo after yellow card. His attackers let him down though. But 6 goals is a good performance by any standard. 6/10 Over all, a draw against Uruguay should see them through as I don’t see Tahiti losing by 5 goals margin to Uruguay. |
On a night the Tahitians should have gone back to their hotels with a basket full of at least a dozen goals, the Super Eagles of Nigeria displayed an embarrassing clinical ineffectiveness by managing to put only half a dozen past the Tahitian goalie. How they played: Enyeama: He wasn’t really tested but composed himself well the few times he was tested. He could have done better in the goal he conceded though. 6/10 Ambrose: The Celtic man, obviously aware he was playing against people who should have no business playing football, got all the confidence to move around and overlap. He pushed forward and made some dribbling and passing runs to initiate attack. He was however found wanting in his primary defence role a couple of times as the Tahitian defender tried to penetrate through the wings. He was also a culprit in the Tahitian goal. 5/10 Oboabona: The Tahitians attack moves came from the flanks most times, so the central defenders weren’t tested much. The Sunshine star was quiet for the better part of the game, but showed his presence by dispossessing ball of the legs of the opponents a couple of times. 5.5/10 Omeruo: Solid and business-minded as usual. What could have been the Tahitians best chance was stopped by him as he had not option than to foul the guy before entering 18 yard box. He did so professionally and got a yellow card. He was later substituted, apparently to avoid another card. 6.5/10 Echiejile: Keeps telling us we don’t need Taiye Taiwo again, as he does, even better, what Taye Taiwo knows how to do best: overlap and attack. Although equally not so good like TT in defending. TT’s only edge is free kick. The Braga man, like he did versus Mali in AFCON, opened the floodgate of goals. He added another one in the second half. 7/10 Ogude: He seemed not to have learnt from what consigned him to bench in AFCON, as he continued his raw tackles. His tackles usually lack professional touch. He needs to do better. 5/10 Mba: Not so visible in the midfield and missed a sitter when he was freed one on one with the Tahitian keeper. 4/10 Mikel: Tahitians having no business playing football, it was an opportunity for Mikel to shine and mesmerize confidently. He tried to do, but gave away possession too often. He also characteristically slowed down game where he should have initiated counter attacks quickly. For his standard, not a good game, even if he Eagles’ best midfielder of the night. 5.5/10 Musa: He keeps reminding one of Pius Ikedia, with his trademark all run, no substance. His final ball is poor as are his crosses. He still tormented the Tahitians with speed though, as he also provided an assist. He missed a sitter too. 6/10 Oduamadi: Nigeria’s stand-out player of the night. The AC Milan loanee showed class. His first goal was world class. He could have scored up to five, as one of his goals was ruled offside. He was also the architect of the Tahiti’s no 2′s own goal. Good hattrick. He needs to work on his speed though. 9/10 Ujah: Poor display. Quiet throughout. Missed a sitter too. Bad game. Yanked off in second half. 3/10 http://jarushub.com/2013/06/18/player-rating-nigeria-vs-tahiti/ |
hollandis: Ideye is the worst there.I so much hate the guuWhen Ideye begins to deliver, I think those of us that believed in him will only have bragging right. I remember people saying same about Emenike before Nations cup and some of us that have seen him play stood by him, that he had something. Now, Emenike is Nigerians' idol. I believe Ideye will also find his feet soon. You cant be a poo and be returning 14 goals per season in France and Ukraine. |
cman77: @jarus & daz york.I agree wif u guys concernin yakubu, was a good striker nd 3rd highest goal scorer afta odegbami nd yekini, but at southafrica 2010,if u r objective in ur analysis u will agree wif me dat he was a complete failure,he underperformed nd thus ruined naija's chances. Den daz york dat ukrainian league u talked abt brazil invitin der players 4rm,did u watch brazil against japan? Well,de won 3-0 against a 'not good' blue samurai, can u compare dis present brazilian team with d golden days of rivaldo, roberto carlos, ronaldo? Do u tink if brazil meets a tough opposition like spain de can win? Or will de go far,dat brazillian team is nt so good.even neymar is overrrated,I watched him play.yes brazil wallopd england in d friendlies recently but england nw accordin to redknap recently, don't knw hw to play futbol.our SE can do well against dis present samba boys.well, let's watch.I rest my case.Messi missed a crucial penalty in Champion league semi final in UCL 2012, does that make him a failure, even in that competition? |
FilesUpdator: Team News:5-4-1 5 defenders Bus don arrive already. Parking bus. I see a tough, frustrating match for SE. |
5k confirmed received from NAIRAMAR. ACCOUNT: 1, NAIRAMAR - 5,000 BALANCE: 5,000 |
FilesUpdator: Team News:Obvious. That is our best 11 from the available squad. |
By the time Spain meet Nigeria, they will be on 6 points and may parade second team, just to test other players. I believe Nigeria can squeeze a draw with Spain. Let's just get minimum of 4 points from Tahiti and Uruguay. |
striktlymi: Nah mehn, you missed the point here. This is not a matter of someone running away with money. Far from it...a million bucks is too small to run away with let alone an amount less than 200k.No wahala. Thanks. The coordinators will consider it, which I also welcome. |
cman77: U can't compare yekini wif yakubu in all ramifications.agreed yakubu was a fantastic striker in europe but hw well has he fared in natl duty.hw many goals did he score for SE durin his tyme.d last world cup is a pointer to dis.don't have anytin against him but he jst has badluk anytyme he plays 4 d eagles,to d extent dat 1 of his chances at d last world cup was described as d worst miss ever 4 a striker in d hist of d world cup.I still maintain my stand dat ideye is nt a striker, moreso d ukrainian league u talked abt is nt one of d top leagues in europe.no room 4 sentiments pls,u can't have like 5 goal scorin chances nd miss all nd u kal ursef a striker nd u want to score against world best spain.ideye is d odd one out.How many time do you want me to tell you that YAKUBU IS NIGERIA'S ALL-TIME 3RD HIGHEST SCORER? I mean, for Super Eagles, since Nigeria started football in 1950's, only two strikers (Yekinni and Odegbami) have scored more goals for Nigeria than Yakubu. Yakubu has scored 21 goals for Nigeria. If you don't watch football, keep quiet. |
Can we appoint people to collect 'donations in kind' in various parts of Lagos? I have got a couple of requests of people wanting to donate materials, not sure of what to tell them yet. |
Tbaba, mail me asap. People are asking about where to drop donations in kind. |
striktlymi: Assalamu Alaikum,Many thanks. That will be welcomed. But having handled many fundraising exercises on Nairaland, from Buhari-Bakare campaign of 2011 (where we raised 0.75million Naira on NL here), to TEHN (where we have raised and managed funds in excess of N1m), not sure 160k is what I will run away with. |
Rooneyboy: Can non muslims contribute to this project aswell, or strictly for muslim faithfulsWill be thankfully accepted. |
emmke: South Africa are to Africa what England are to Europe.I agree. All noise and glamour, no substance. |
Afam4eva: Isn't it possible that they've improved?oh, it is better that way. Winning Tahiti with any 2-goal margin takes us to the top of teh group and we will be needing jsut a draw to qualify. We will get psychological boost if we beat Tahiti. |
