dominique: Welcome back to Islam my sister, may Allah make your journey to rediscovery a easy one. As a (re)convert myself, the biggest challenge I faced were the self-righteous people trying to make me realise my 'mistake'. Telling me all stories of gloom and doom and the likes. Don't let people like that waver your faith.
If you've haven't memorised Ayat-ul Kursiyu, I suggest you do so. Its very important when making special Dua and supplications. Its also a very strong weapon of the believer against shaytan and his agents.
Hope you give us updates on your progress and challenges through your journey smiley.

Islam › Re: How Can We Fight This Jinn? It Wants To Ruin My Marriage by Jarus(m): 11:00pm On Dec 26, 2012
Just seeing this.

That's a classic case of jinn at work, especially the terrible dream part. Some jinns aim to destroy marriages.

May Allah protect us all.

Constantly recite ayatul kursiyy, suratul falaq, ikhlas, Nas before you sleep. Get ruqya cassettes or CDs and play constantly in your household.

Do plenty of ibaadats, tahajjud etc as much as you have capacity.

Have complete trust in Allah that it will soon be over.

Live your life normally, work hard for your living.

It will be over insha Allah.

If after, say, 6 months, it hasn't gone completely, I'm available to introduce you to scholars on exorcism/jinn to help out further, within the purview of Qur'an and Sunnah.

honeric01: Oh ok, so how are you going to use them?
Depending on opposition,

4-4-2 or 4-3-3

4-4-2

-------------Enyeama-------------

Ambrose--Yobo--Shittu---Echiejile

--------------Onazi-------------

-------------Mikel---------------

Musa------------------------Moses

--------Uche---------------------

----------------Ideye-----------

Subs
Emenike or Amoebi for Ideye
If Shittu falters, Oboabona for him
If our central midfield is not living up to expectation, sacrifice one of Musa or Moses(depending on who is not having good game) and bring in Igiebor, to assist Mikel in central midfield, then Uche moves to flank, so we have

-------Mikel----------Igiebor----

----Uche---------------Moses/Musa

--------Emenike/Ideye/Ameobi-----

honeric01: Come January 19th, the nations cup should be commencing.

By 9th of Januray, the coach is expected to submit his 23 man list.

We know nairaland is very popular in Nigeria and the world over and who knows, the coach could be a member of Nairaland reading comments posted on the sport board.

If you're given the chance to suggest a 23 man list for the coach, who would you be picking and why?

For a recap, here's the list of the 32 provisional man list again: (Take into notice that the coach can or may include or exclude any new or current player, so you're allowed to include/exclude just 2 players.).

Politics › Re: *~ Katsumoto Voted The Politics Section Poster Of 2012 *~ Congratulations by Jarus(op): 6:33am On Dec 25, 2012
Andre Uweh: Let's hope this will be the last best poster of the year poll. The whole exercise has always been a joke. Imagine Becomerich winning it ahead of Jakumo and Mikeansy that year. How about Beaf who clearly was the best poster last year?. This year, just like lasy year, the best poster was denied the right to be voted for.
I call for an end to this poll.
Now you are taking your modship campaign too far.

Was the 2009 poll officially recognized? The then mod did a shabby exercise and Nairaland senior management rightly overruled it. That was why we came up with ban rule and quality posts rule to prevent the likes of Becomrich from emerging. So how can you use 2009 exercise as a reference.

And this year, can you name another poster that added more value to this section than Katz? This was someone whose performance at the October debate was well applauded and also did well as moderator of November dialogue. Yes, he also engaged in tribal fights, but tell me who among the top posters didnt, including your candidate, your tribesman.

The sectional award has come to stay. There is nothing anybody can do about it. Not even your becoming a moderator of this section, which you can't be anyway, can stop it. The sectional award event has become an institution, and beyond a moderator's prerogative. It has come to stay.

After Seun publicly apologized, in addition to other offline consultations and meetings, we have decided to let the matter go.

We would be deciding on the fate of shame and fame threads in due course. And communicate to you accordingly.

For now, all threads on this subject to remain locked. Only my partner, if he decides to chip in more things, and of course the admin and supermods, can post here subsequently.

PointB: I think it's best you respect yourself Jarus. If you have issue with Seun, face Seun squarely like a man and deal with him. Whipping up emotions, and this public diatribe wont help you. And please keep my name of your fingers, when lying, I have never lobbied for the Mods jobs in any way. Just in case, your dis-ingenuity is reverse psychology, if Seun offers me MODs job, I will take it.
And inasmuch as I am still active on Nairaland, you will never become a mod here. Bet it. I will show you the power I wield here, even as a nonMod.

Politics › Re: The Shamefulness Of The Politics Section Hall Of Shame by Jarus(m): 7:38pm On Dec 24, 2012
To me, the matter is not one of Achebe or not. I personally respect Achebe and I never even dabbled into the whole debate. When people nominated Achebe, there was nothing I could do to it, even though I silently didn't want his name on the list. But I checked the rules, none was broken. So there was nothing I could do.have

Now, Seun, as the capitalist owner of Nairaland has every right to make a business case for the exclusion of Achebe. He could have sent us an email that 'gentlemen, the acceptance of Achebe nomination will not augur well for Nairaland. Please strike out his name from that list' . Even though I won't take that automatically and would argue with him that bending the rule also diminishes the whole exercise and similar ones, it will be easier for us to come to agreement and perhaps remove his name or cancel the exercise altogether for this year.

But coming open with such disrespectful posts, without consulting us in our usual channel of communication, is unacceptable to me. It is disrespectful. Even my employer won't do that to me, not to talk of this purely voluntary thing.

This is actually not he first time Seun rebukes his mods in public. I won't take that.

The only condition that can warrant my return is for him to apologise.

Else, he should take his job and give the Afams and PointBs, who're already lobbying.

Umartins1: That awkward moment when a boss offends two of his key workers.

But be as it is, I implore Jarus and his colleague to pls tear the letter and forget all that happened.

This is a forum where one knows noone. The Admin of the forum has put in his best to unite Nigerians irrespective of our tribes. He's worth our respect.

To the concerned mods, I dont know how much you earn though, but getting angry over the misdeed of your boss is like fighting your shadow. Seriously, I know noone so I'm bound to speaketh the truth.
The day you call someone your boss, there's a kind of bound; a covenant between you and him. Either he err or not, he's worth your respect.

Proclaiming your resignation publicly is, sorry if you'll be offended, like DISHONOURING him. No matter what he could've done, inasmuch as you earn from him(no matter how meager it may be) he doesn't needs to command respect but he must surely earn it.

Lets take it this way: if he chooses to remove you from the list of his mods as requested by you, and two days after, Nl is hacked or gets a problem. Who do you think will be suspected first?

Please, lots of ppl are out there praying for this-- dispute as this to ensue. Dont forget that they'll surely capitalise on your shortcomings.

Settle this as men and let it die down.

That he went publicly without you being aware, doesn't warranty you proclaiming your resignation consequently.

Pls, I'm less concerned about Achebe or whatever. I'm only concerned with my beloved NL.

Many oh! Lot of people are currently celebrating this dis-agreement.

BE WISE!
Just fyi, I dont earn a dime from moderating here, and I don't want to. And I'm not sure Seun can hire me for financial consideration.

I wasnt aware of this thread until my friend that works in GTB, who knows I'm a Nairaland official, called me now.

He confirmed that the guy who posted his scanned teller actually paid the money into the account. He said teh screenshot had been manipulated, that the guy just scrolled down. He checked the account and confirmed seeing it.

He challenge both of them to go to any GTB and confirm.
The money actually truly entered that account.
