Fashola, followed by Akpabio. But it appears that Akpabio doesnt have good PR guys to trumpet his works for him. I was in his state in August and I daresay it has the best road networks after Abuja.

Poll i.e secret ballot gives the merit of suspense and more fun but it has the demerit of susceptibility to multiple I'D voting. In any case info from NL executive management has it that the poll may not be available, so we would be forced to use open ballot. |

Unfortunately, PointB fails the ban test, hence disqualified.
He was banned March 27 2012 by Mukina2, and on October 12 2012 by me.
Given the volatility of this section we waived the no ban rule to not more than one ban. But otherwise quality posters are still failing it and we can't help the situation. |

In any case, anything, jinn or angel, that commands what is contrary to quran and sunnah, can not be Allah sent and angels unlike human and jinns, dont have the freewill, they fully obey Allah, so it makes it easy to detect someone that sees something else and calls it an angel. |
Islam › Re: Jinn Stories by Jarus(m): 1:25pm On Dec 01, 2012 |
maclatunji: LOL. You guys are preaching to a believer here. I just don't want the issue sensationalised. Jarus should note that majority of people you communicate with on Nairaland don't comment. The education of those who comment here is of little weight to me when I post on this topic.
I am more concerned about the lurkers who will read this and start screaming: "Jinn" the next time they have an headache.
By the way, jinns aren't the only beings that one can come across. There are angels too. I doubt anybody would know if he met an angel though.
#LOL Well, my aim is never to sensational the topic, but it is a subject that is worth knowing much about, given the prevalence our society today. And in contrast, it is the knowledge of that makes someone identify what is jinn and what is not, jinn so that he and won't have headache and says it's jinn, so that an harmless bat or bird will not stray into his house, like my Muslim landlord here and the next thing is shouting halleluyah, In Jesus name, so that he will not keep having weird dreams and he next port of call will be a herbalist or deviant alfa home. Knowing what is jinn and what isn't is very important to me, and I dont think discussing it, with whatever vigour, is sensationalism. Too many people are falling for shirk in our society out of ignorance of this subject and find it painful. As for angels, well , i know someone that something was appearing to in her sleep, calling itself angel, and asking the person to stop doing salats, that salats had been abrogated etc. Unfortunately, she believed she was seeing God through angel in her dream, and she stopped praying. That was clearly jinn misguiding the poor woman, leading her astray as an agent of shayt aan, yet it called itself angel sent by God to her. This person lived under same roof with me before i left Kwara. Maybe I have to read more about angels too, but I'm afraid one of the easiest way people get astray is seeing 'angel' in 'vision' and suddenly becoming a pastor or woliyy claiming it was God or angel they saw, depending on whatever it calls itself for them, whereas it is purely a case of jinn at work, deceiving them, fulfilling the vow of their grandmaster , shaytan ,who promised Allah to lead people astray. |

Of course, some people are paranormal because they don't have a deep understanding of what is jinn and what is not.
I used to be afraid when was young but the day i knew much about jinn, what they cannot do, was the day that mystery was solved. Today, i can walk in the darkest places, in the loneliest of places, what without any fear once fortify myself with the necessary adhkars . I am the last person anybody will Shakara with charm. Why do i have to be afraid when i understand the mystery behind all these things ignorant people disturb themselves over. Of course, if after all my necessary precautions, something evil happens to me, Iknow it's the will of God or my failing.
Jinns exist, they interfere in people's lives, but we don't need to fear them, fortify yourself jn the light of Qur'an and sunnah and live your life normally, what will hit you will not miss you and what will miss you will not hit you.
And of course there are psychological and medical disorders too, which are not jinn related. |

maclatunji: One thing about my environment here in Nigeria is that the paranormal, supernormal whatever you choose to call it has been abused greatly. People who are by themselves afraid of being in the dark will say all sorts of things. In the western world, if someone tells you this is beyond ordinary, it is easy to understand especially when the government admits it. Reminds of a documentary which proved for the first time the United States and United Kingdom governments admitting a presence in the skies that they could not explain, the researcher had to dig through piles of "X-files" to uncover this fact not that it was clearly stated or admitted but effectively the documents said: "Yeah! We saw something and we don't know exactly what it is".
My position with this kind of stuff is simple: "find a rational response until it becomes irrational to seek/stick with it." Well, I think all of us here are educated enough to know what is rational and what is not. Someone needs to sharpen is knowledge of jinns in the light of qur'an and Sunnah rather than some paranormal explanations. To start, anyone who disbelieves in the existence of jinns is not a Muslim in the first place because it is expressly mentioned in the qur'an and there is a whole verse named jinn . So that is settled. What can be dispute is their activities and manifestations and trust me I'm the last person that will subscribe to these kinds of talks, given my western orientation, if I'm not convinced about it, and openly on Nairaland for that matter. Jinns exist, they interfere in human affairs, they possess people, completely or partially, it is very rampant in our society but a lot of people don't know. I have a very, very close family that was affected by jinn, and i was the first to note it was a jinn at work, of course after my study of their activities. This is a topic i am very emotional about because eni ba l'omo . May the wrath of almighty God be on me if I lie. And in any case, the oyinbo we claim to be more western headed than, know about jinn and one of the IIslamic world's most known exorcist is Jamaica born, US based Dr Bilal Philips. There have been reported cases exorcism in UK too. Locally, i have witnessed exorcist sessions where jinns talked. Bindex, atheist, said on Nairaland here that he witnessed one in Kano. Kiwi, a UK based Nigerian non Muslim narrated how ayatul kursiyy helped solved the mystery in his household in UK. Could it be a coincidence that the same ayatul kursiyy that was mentioned by the prophet more than 1400 years ago, used proud predecessors, used by the likes of Ibn Taymiyyah, used by our sunnah sticking local scholars here like Alhaji Akindele etc, to truest jinn disturbance? If it wasnt jinn, but some 'paranormal' inexplicable things, why did ayatul kursiyy, the known cure for jinn, effective on it? |

tbaba1234: Interesting stories...
Let me share some of the ones i have:
I heard this one from Shaykh Hasan Ali, a personal experience for him, it happened in the UK:
They found an Old RAF building that had been deserted for 20 years, they were going to start using it as a madrassa. It is a big building so they started from one corner of the building. The plan was to slowly start using the rooms as they expand. The building by the way had 120 rooms and about three different halls. Massive, massive structure. It had an east and a west wing E.t.c.
They were utilising a few rooms (about 7 or 8 rooms) in the east wing. Of course the teachers told the young people not to go to the west wing. Shaykh Hasan was a young man then, and you know what happens when you are told not to go somewhere, that is when you want to go... SO he went with a few friends to the west wing at about 12 noon, there were about 8 of them. As they were walking, they can hear the doors banging, things opening , the whole works.... Of course, they ran away, reciting anything they could as they ran, you get the idea... ... According to him, this place was really spooky (remember, this is at 12 noon)...
One of the young kids in the Madrassa, about 13 years old from bangladesh, he didn't know a word of english, Only spoke Bengali. Shy, little boy. Now this little boy is trying to become a hafiz of the Quran, at that point, he had only memorised one Juz. (Shaykh hasan says the boy is probably married with kids now so he doesn't mention his name)
One day, this little kid strays off to the west wing and he comes back. At first, no one takes any real notice of it. In the evening when they were reciting the Quran,
This little boy came up to his teacher with the Quran and says to him : Test Me!!! He doesn't say this in English, he says it in Arabic.... This is a boy that only knew bengali, the kid suddenly knows arabic.
The teacher looks at him and he is having a laugh, So he says: Alright, read from the 15th Juz
And the boy recites perfectly, the teacher is shocked... What is happening? He tests him from different parts of the Quran and this kid now knows the Quran and even challenges the teacher in speaking Arabic. All of a sudden, this kid has got great arabic. weird..
So they assumed, miracle of God, they didn't know what to think... Just wait!!
But this kid is acting really weird, he gets a hair clipper and shaves half of his head and leaves the other. The other kids are freaking out. The teacher grabs hold of him and shaves the other half.
He goes to bed, there are about 6 in a room... At about two in the morning, 5 of the other kids, come running out of the room screaming and banging on the principals door: Jinn, Jinn, Jinnn ... The principal gets up, goes to the room and there is only one kid sleeping. The new arabic speaker.
The principal calms the kids and puts them to sleep again and after a little while same thing happens... The principal asks what is happening? They tell him that they hear something dragging its nails (or something) across the wall and saying the other boy's name... Let's say his name was Imran.... They hear nails across the walls and the name: Imran!!! (in a really spooky way)...
In the morning, the main teacher had decided that the kid was possessed and ruqyah had to be done. In ruqyah, what they usually do is to recite ayahs of the Quran and force the jinn out of the body. The evil Jinns can't stand the recitation of the Quran so they will leave.
There was a problem in this case though, this Jinn was a muslim, a believing Jinn. The Jinn was a hafiz of the Quran and knew arabic.
So when the teacher was reciting a part of the Quran, the jinn counters by reciting another part of the Quran neutralising the effect of what the shaykh was doing.
Apparently, the Jinn was a young jinn who decided that the best way to play was to enter the boy's body.
The shaykh was able to figure out that the young jinn was around with its family ( a whole group of jinns) in the west wing and they would be leaving in about a month.... The shaykh decided that the best way to get rid of the influence was to take this boy back home and leave him there for a month.
SO our Young Shaykh hasan Ali was in the convoy taking the kid back home, he tries to open the door on the highway but he gets a good scolding by the teacher (Shaykh who tried to do the ruqyah).
After a month, he comes back, a shy little kid... Didn't know a word of Arabic and had only on juz of the Quran memorised. This is similar to the Sri Lankan boy story told by Dr Bilal Philips narrated which I relayed in the exorcism thread. And like i mentioned, abandoned uncompleted buildings is one of their major dwelling places. |

sino: No personal experience, heard a lot of stories from my dad and also alfas in my hood.
I heard from my dad the possibilities of communicating with jinns, the process is quite fuzzy now, what i can remember is that you need a young person especially one who hasnt had any intimate relations with anyone. The young person can see and communicate with these jinns after many rituals and incantations(mostly the name of the jinns). Some people use them to inquire about lost persons and also some people use them for other purposes like fortune or knowledge.
Heard about people being possesed by jinns as well, saw some few peeps who were said to have been possesed, them no dey ordinary o, crazy tins.
Now the info i got from an alfa, he told me he can give me some incantations i can do to call on a jinn, the timing and what i should do when eventually the jinn comes...he told me the jinn may come in form of a raging fire or a lion or some very dangerous creature, he said if i should get frighten then i would be in trouble(might go insane from there)...did i try it? Hell No, he(alfa) himself behaves funny, might well be thaat he himself is possesed lol. There are other stories, but i'll stop here...
I know you have something up ya sleeves, o ya lets hear. Those are the deviant alfas i warned people to be wary of in thread on exorcism . For 'good' or bad, Muslims are prohibited from using jinns . It is an expressway to shirk. Run away from that alfa pls |

2012 OFFICIAL POLITICS SECTION POSTER OF THE YEAR How time flies! It's difficult to believe it's one year now that we held the 2011 edition and 3 years now that we started this. Here we go again, we say thank you to everyone that has contributed to making this section tick in the outgoing year - from the active contributors to the passive readers even to the unregistered guest viewers. As it has become traditional on Nairaland, we are organizing this year's edition of OFFICIAL POSTER OF THE YEAR AWARD. For those who are new here, this event started officially in 2009 but that of Politics Section was not officially recognized in 2009 because of a flawed process. In the hotly contested 2010 edition, Dapobear won the prize, beating Katsumoto by one vote while Kobojunkie emerged 2nd runners-up: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-535083.0.htmlIn 2011 edition, Gbawe chested the tape ahead of Onlytruth and Katsumoto. https://www.nairaland.com/815425/gbawe-voted-politics-section-poster Now it's 2012 edition? Who will take the prize? Will Gbawe retain it? Is it going to be onlytruth? Will Katsumoto, finalist in the last 2 editions, be 3rd time lucky this time around? Or will the ever-present Kobojunkie stage a surprise comeback? Or will the new 'men of the moment' take the gong? You decide! Rules: 1, Only 1 nomination per user 2, Any nominee that has been banned or warned twice this year will be disqualified 3, Moderator cannot be nominated in his/her section but may be nominated in other sections 4, Nominee must be active in the section 5, Nominee must be forum rule-abiding and not a trouble-maker(passionate defence of one's opinions is no trouble-making though) 6, Top 3 nominees will be up for poll for another 2 weeks, where the winner will be announced at the expiration of the voting 7, Where there is tie, the mod reserves the right to either choose one or extend the nomination/voting by 24 hours NOMINATION ends on December 8, 2012 VOTING starts December 9, 2012 and ends December 23 when the winner will be announced. If you get my point, it depends on where you get job, the role and your experience. it is foolhardy to think there is an across board salary level for chartered accountants. |
