Very ethical. |
Dangote has become so powerful to earn a GCON. |
dayokanu: ![]() Just seeing this. Dk, no kill person for here o ![]() |
marutimon:Watch out for Senegal |
agabaI23:How I wish I can do that on weekdays too. Can't wait for tomorrow. I was at my regular Table Tennis arena yesternight but the guys were doing betting which I was averse to. Spent 2 hours there(9-11 pm) but couldn't even hold the bat. |
I don't mind trying this on my next trip home, if only for adventure. |
i just hope he didnt spend his entire time in ife, in awo hall, because that would be flabbergasting and counter productive. most guys start out in angola [another no no but still more courteous than awo], then move on to awo hall. some then move on up to fajuyi, where they learn how to be polished gentlemen and reduce the gra gra small. some lucky ones start off at faj and stay throughout their program. i used to visit my cousin there and his roommates were very friendly. If i mention some things they did, one of them might recognize themselves if they're on nl.
You couldn't have described it better. That summarizes male hostels in Ife, except that you missed out a relatively new ETF hostel, another mummy's boys hostel.Well, I did my registration late and by the time I finished, Angola rooms had been exhausted, so I was allocated Awo as a Jambite. Needless to say Awo spirit entered me in no time and I never passed 3 nights outside Awo throughtout my eventual 5 years stay. That hall was just too interesting and fun-packed. |
Ask around they would tell you. When those Moz girls tried it Awo boys shut down Moz for a week and the girls couldnt go in or out of their hostelThis should be 2001/2002. I remember this. ![]() |
dayokanu:aahhhhaaahhhhha ![]() Ahhh, DK, this got me ROTFLMAO, even in office! ![]() I may witness it but can't be me. MSSN caught me young as a Jambite, so I became a 'teblig' probably from my day 1 in Ife. ![]() I no dey do aro, but you can't help enjoying it. I be Awo boy thru and thru(spent all my 4+1 years in Ife in Awo) and witnessed all the madness. |
Ghaddafi tried for his people, but he overstayed his welcome. Sit-tightism is his major problem. No matter how well you try for your people, you miss it when you refuse to leave the stage when the ovation is loudest. |
The same thing you did to your dads office was the same thing Kola did in his dads office in White House.See wetin lecturer pikins dey do for them papa ofis olohun mo numba ile yin o ![]() |

Economics appears almost on everybody's list. Does that mean Economics is the simplest/most interesting/most student-friendly subject in secondary school? |
I heard all the motion ground stories before entering Ife and as a Jambite but think it was exaggerated. I passed thru motion ground on regular basis on my way to Health Sciences and sometimes Humanities to read, but I no dey see anything. |
I can't put my money on Keshi+Oliseh, but I still want Siasia out. |
1, Economics (by far) 2, Geography (had good teacher for it) 3, English Language 4, Biology (interesting to read, stuck more when read) 5, Mathematics(at tail end of secondary school, hated it before) Those I hated: 1, Financial Accounting (the teacher made it boring; like Greek) 2, Mathematics ( at least before SSS 2) |
My first line - 08056681***- Used it while in school, got lost and I retrieved it a couple of times before I forgot about it. Used to like Glo and hate MTN then. Now I use MTN, since 2006. Some people still have that my lost glo number. |
dayokanu:oga o. Dapo was one of teh first guys I heard about when going to Ife as a jambite. Who knows orunmila, the ewi guy in Awo hall? |
Katz, It doesn't have anything to do with our engagement on SLS. After all, chamber2 is one of the guys I respect so much on the forum and he is far more anti-Sanusi than you. Posting from phone now, can't dig out your 'posts of metamorphosis' now but if 2 different people(Op and I) can say you're derailing from great old self, then you should watch it. |
Well, there is nothing wrong in having political choices or even funding a campaign but problem arises when you engage in tribal wars and exchange insults. I don't think I have derailed in those angles. |
I was thinking of starting this same topic few weeks ago but not sure it will be right for me to open thread on personalities as a mod. Well, I agree with the poster. We have seen metamorphosis of some hitherto great guys on this section. I share same sentiments with Gbawe on most issues, but I must agree my man is tending toward extreme these days. As for Katz, a guy that knows his onion no doubt, but how he descended to such level in recent time is alarmed me. I will also put Ekt-bear on that list. He is the reigning NL Politics Section Poster of the Year(which he won in 2010, defeating interestingly another metamorphosed guy, Katz, by one vote)and his conduct on the section since the beginning of the year surprises me. Go check the citations I did for them in that awards thread. I feel embarrassed these guys can morph so soon. I'm not saying you guys should not be passionate about your ideas/opinions/political groups but throwing insults and engaging in tribal wars is not the way to go. You guys can do better. As for Beaf, he has never a gentleman. Ditto for Jakumo. So no metamorphosis here. |
Great Ife - 2006 set. Not being a science student, never passed through White house, but always passing under it on my way to my faculty Oya, Great Ife Nairalanders, show yourself; Copy, paste and update the number: 1, Jarus 2, On the 200m lawsuit, oya ex-White House Nairalanders(Loma, Dayokanu and co), start dropping o ![]() |

I'm not a great reader but these 3 were helpful. -The Holy Qur'an -Fundamentals of Tawheed (Abu Ameena Bilal Philips) - led me into further readings that demystified a lot of mysteries that used to disturb my mind in life -Eat that Frog - helping me in my career and personal planning/organization |
passyjango:Yeah, that's what I mean. You only take advantage of opportunity that exists. afam4eva: Bad boiThat's the other side. And of course, I'm talking about the good, legitimate opportunities schooling in an exposed environment presents. |
highland:If you collect someone's CV today without prior knowledge, how do you measure his ability to perform? |
To an extent, but may not be significant. 1, If the requirement is 2-2 and above for example and you make a third from the best University in Nigeria, you still wont get a call, while a 2-1 from the worst(but recognized) university will get an invitation for test. 2, If you don't pass a test, the university you attended will not be able to help you. 3, In interview, you may need to do extra work if you attended a not so repuatble university. Imagine, the interviewer looking at your CV and asking 'Where is Ayo Babalola University located?' or while introducing yourself, you said you attended University of Iperu, and next thing, the interviewer asks 'What did you call it? Where is that?". The interviewer not knowing your school and confronting you with that as first question after looking at your CV can throw you off-balance, and you need to be extra good to do well in that interview. 4, Also, some interviewers have bias for First Generation Universities, especially the ones they attended 5, Lastly, without disrespect to any school, but one fact is some universities get you more exposed than others. I will not mention names to avoid arguing over 'my school is better than yours', but Unilag clearly leads here, followed by few other universities. In my youth service year, I met grads from some schools that didn't know what GMAT was or what a job test was about. Some can hardly use computer too. That was as recently as 2007. This affects access to job information and probably smartness. Altogether, the effect may not be so significant, but that no 5 is somehow strong and real. NB: The assumpion is here is 'among Nigerian universities'. |

bin gbagbo:They are too anti-Nigeria. Ivorians, despite being Francophone, are more respectful and friendly to Nigeria. Moreso, I have sympathy for CIV NT, they are very committed to their country despite being stars. Drogba and co are always taking in peace initiatives for the war-torn nation. Winning ANC will be a good way to cap their efforts. |
CPC won 2 councilliorship seats. Good showing for the party in a state like Lagos, if you ask me. |
She is my greatest motivator. When I think of her I get fired up in whatever I'm doing. As a young boy, she was always advising me. I still owe her a lot. |
