AJANLEKOKO

1, Kindly introduce yourself

I'm AjanleKoko (internet moniker), I'm in my mid-thirties exactly, Yoruba, Nigerian based in Nigeria. Let's leave it at that for now.

2, How did you join NL?

Actually I have been active on a few Nigerian Internet forums in the past, between 2000-2004. I stumbled on Nairaland in 2006, but I really did not have that much time, until I changed jobs in 2008. It was a promotion of sorts, so I was a little less busy. Hence my starting to post in 2008.

3, Do you agree with our list of NL legends or you have suggestions or something to chip in? Or to you, who is the greatest Nairalander of all time?

If you ask me, I think it is premature right now to choose someone as a 'greatest nairalander of all time'. What you guys did in December was cool, though, recognizing various people who post in different sections. We as Nigerians seem to take these things serious, always looking for accolades. I think maybe not now. Best you can do now is what you've done already, create some sort of 'Hall of Fame', and 'induct' a select number of popular members. Then leave it at that. But no 'greatest of all time'. Sounds crass.

4, Who is/are your favourite Nairalander(s)?

I would say my most fav would be debosky. He is very active in every section, and has something to say about everything. He is also well-mannered and smart without being an egotist, I think.

5, What is your assessment of NL as the forum clocks 5?

It's a good forum, came at the right time, and can only get better. I think more needs to be done to increase the credibility and usability of Nairaland as a site by Nigerians, for Nigerians. I practically use Facebook like a email and collaboration tool these days. I chat with people, send and receive mail, etc. Nairaland should look at adding more widgets to increase the utility, and also expand the scope of content allowed.Give people the tools to make them use the site more effectively.

6, What do you enjoy about NL and how addicted are you to NL?

I just like the conversations, talking about real everyday stuff that affects everybody, not just politics. I am not particularly a big fan of talking Nigeria politics, by the way. In every section, always something useful to learn in NL.

7, How do you juggle between NL and your real life activities? Do you quote NL in your real lief activities? Do people around you knwo you are a a member of NL?

Yes to the second and third questions. My hobby, as well as present career pursuit is the Internet, so I spend a lot of time on NL anyways. It is one of my three most visited sites, asides FB and Gmail.

8, What is the most useful info or knowledge you've gotten from Nairaland? Or better still is there any special thread that has impacted in your life?

As per impacting on my life, I would say none yet. But the thread that actually got me posting on NL was the 'Which Way NLNG' thread on the Jobs section. It was a story of many people's lives, hopes, dreams, how they were all supporting each other, looking out for each other, and trying to make sure the guys who did not make it to NLNG didn't feel bad about themselves, or lose hope in themselves. kuwena, opoks, etc. You could learn a lot about those people just by reading that thread. If I was a writer, I would make a novel out of it.

9, Which section do you like most?
Career, obviously. I am developing an interest in Travel/tourism nowadays. Personally I think Nigerians should get out more, and see the world. It will help us a lot in our personal journeys.

Politics › Re: Jonathan Inaugurates New Cabinet (Full List) by Jarus(m): 7:59pm On Apr 06, 2010
Agriculture
Senior: Prof. Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah
Junior: Awodele Najeem Adewale
Know nothing about these men, but think they should deliver.

2.Justice
Mohammed Bello Adoke
Know nothing about this too, but think he should ahve left Adetokunboh as MOJ&AG

3. Aviation
Mrs. Fidelia Njeze
Know nothing about this too.

4.Commerce & Industry
Senior: Jibril Martins Kuye
Junior: Ms. Josephine Tapgun
The ministry aside, I'm not impressed with his bringing back Martins Kuye, who has been a Minister before, and a 'career politician'. Think he would ahve done better using those industrialists in NACCIMMA or MAN or state CIMAs. This Tapgun too appears like someone appointed based primarily of politics symptahy/consideration. But I amy be proved wrong.

5.Culture & Tourism
Abubakar Sadiq A. Mohammed
Dark horse

6.Education
Prof. (Mrs) Ruqayyatu A. Rufa’i
Recall reading this woman's interview sometime last year, and impressed. She appears passionate about education and should be well-intentioned. We can only she's not overwhelmed

7.FCT
Bala Muhammed
Senator go, Senator come, FCT remain!

8.Environment
Mr. John Ogar Odey
Know little about this too. Can't comment

9.Finance
Senior:Olusegun Olutoyin Aganga
Junior: Aderemi W. Babalola
Much has been said about Mr Aganga as another Okonjo Iweala. All eyes will surely be on him.
I'm tired of seeing Remi Babalola as junior minister. This man is better than many Senior minister. He was junior to Usman, yet overshadowed him. He was also made Junior to Muhtar, yet almsot overshadowed him. I honestly prefer him as Finance Minister, even ahead of Aganga.

10.Foreign Affairs
Senior: Henry Odein Ajumogobia
Junior: Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong
With Ajumogobia, I think our foreign relations is in good hands.

11.Health
Senior: Suleiman Bello
Junior: Idi Hong
Know nothing about Bello, but Idi Hong was said to have done well in the last cabinet.

12. Information & Communication
Senior: Prof. Dora Akunyili
Junior: Mr. Labaran Maku
Dora again. No cooment!
Labaran: I learnt the man fit talk well well. I learnt he did well at Senate screening.

13.Interior
Senior: Emmanuel Iheanacho
Junior: Mr. Humphrey Enemakwu Abah
Know nothing about the duo, so can't comment.

14.Labour & Productivity
Mr. Chukwuemeka Ngozichineke Wogu
Ditto

15.Mines & Steel Development
Musa Mohammed Sada
Ditto

16.Niger Delta Affairs
Senior: Peter Godsday Orubebe
Junior: Samuel Ode
Orubebe comes across as a man fit for this job. Waiting to see if I'm right

17.Petroleum Resources
Deziani Alison-Madueke
Something keeps telling me this woman will perform. But wait, was she not the woman that broke into tears when she saw the Benin/Somewhere expressway? Then, I hope she doesn't die of HBP a la Abubakar Rimi if she sights the rot in this ministry.

18.Defence
Senior: Adetokunbo Kayode
Junior: Murtala Shehu Yar’Adua
This Kayode appears as a man who can fit anywhere. I expect him to perform.
19.Power
Arc. Nuhu Somo Wya
Was this guy not junior minister in the last cabinet? Power, hmmnn power, the hydra-headed power, I'm off to pray for him. God help him!

20.Police Affairs
Alh. Adamu Waziri
Ministries like this are not easy to access. Hardly will anyone know whether he's working or not. IG takes the blame or praise.

21.Science and Technology
Muhammed K. Abubakar
Don't know him.

22.Special Duties
Ernest Olubolade
Well, this is no big job, and this fomer Navy should be able to do this with ease.

23.Transport
Yusuf Sulaiman
Don't know this one too.

24.Youth Development
Akinlabi Olasunkanmi
This Osun guy appears doing well since given that job. Probably the more reason why GJ gave him the job back.

25.Women Affairs
Josephine Anenih
A professional PDP politician. Anyway, not a big ministry.

26.National Planning Commission
Shamsudeen Usman
Why! Why! Why!
I have known Usman for more than a decade and used to respect him when he was CBN Deputy Governor. But I was disappointed at his performance in Finance Ministry. Not sure he was any better in NP. If I were GJ, I will not re-appoint him.

27.National Sports Commission
Ibrahim Isa Bio
This my state man. I don't know what he knows about or his passion for sports. So, still keeping a sealed lips.

28.Works
Senior: Sen. Sanusi M. Dagash
Junior: Chris Ogiemwinyi
Like Martins Kuye, I would not have appointed Daggash too, someone who was once or even twice Minister.

29.Lands, Housing & Urban Development
Nduese Essien
Another drak horse. Well, hope he has the power and passion of Michael essien, else this ministry might be too big fro him.

If you feel there is any other thing you want to add, but not included in the questions up there, you are free to frame your questions yourselves and answer them, and if worth publishing, will be considered as part of the interview.

Also, your responses may generate one or two more questions, and you will be asked in camera before being published.

Kindly send your responses to jarusnairaland@yahoo.com for review and publication on the thread.

I look forward to seeing your responses.

Regards,

Jarus
BCR's RESPONSE:

Can you help me delete all my post on nairaland.

Thank you.
MY RESPONSE:

Is this not Becomrich?
Why do you want to delete your posts? Are you leaving NL?

Anyway, please answer our interview questions below:

1, Kindly introduce yourself?

2, When did you join Nairaland?

3, Why do you like to post satellite pictures and maps everytime?

4, Some people say you are a robot, and not human, can you comment on that?

5, You once said you wanted the Yorubas to merge with Benin republic, how do you think that is possible?

6, What job do you do in Canada?

7, You always say you read 'electricity engineering' in Unilorin, what is the difference between 'electricity engineering' and electrical engineering? But we learnt there is nothing like electricity engineering

8, Who is your favourite nairalander

9, Sometime last year, you were campaigning that you wanted to become president of Nigeria, is that not contradictory to your struggle that Yorubas should secede from Nigeria and join Benin republic?

10, People heavily criticize your grammar, don't you think you need to work on your English?

11, What advice do you have for Nairalanders?

Reply pls

Thanks
BCR:

Just delete all my posting.

I never said, I am an electricity engineer. I said electrical engineer. Nairaland edit post. nairaland is 419. That why I want all my post deleted, I do not want to be associated with 419 or nairaland.

10, People heavily criticize your grammar, don't you think you need to work on your English? answer: Nairaland uses is programme that change your words. It is a switch program.

On if I can become the president. I can. I have a better chance of been president than Jonathan. look at the statistics. Look at the satellite pictures. I am the person to beat in 2011. 99% of yorubas would vote for me, because I have risk everything, even nearly got killed just for them to get justice. and look at the satellite picture. I have links to some emirs and I need to show them the pictures and they would approve my plan and vote for me in the north. if not they would be minority for ever.

Unedited no time to.

JARUS TO BCR:

What about the other questions I asked in that interview? Please answer them and send to me.
Thanks
BCR TO JARUS
what is your real name and email and cell phone number
JARUS TO BCR:
I am in Nigeria. My real name is Tunji. My contact cell number is 0806119862*. I live in Nigeria.
NB: For those who know first name, Tunji is my middle name.

BCR TO ME
Are you the owner of nairaland. how do you become a moderator on nairaland.

Tell me about you. we you like to make money
.

At this juncture, I knew I can't get BCR for interview, hence my decision to publish this smattering encounter as his interview.

Wrong way to frame the questions. There is nobody that doesn't commit sins, neither is anybody a saint in Naija.
Why not frame it as: 'What's your views on Sanusi?' or 'Sanusi: A true reformist or a rabble rouser?'

Politics › Re: Meet "the Renaissance Professionals" - They Have Cut Sanusi To Size! by Jarus(m): 11:19am On Apr 03, 2010
To those saying I'm so blind about Sanusi that I never see anything wrong in him, I have never hidden my belief in Sanusi's reforms and this is well known, but unlike RP and some people here, I have pointed out areas Sanusi went off track like that misguided statement on shooting bank chiefs, using Atedo Peterside in the London roadshow, quickly releasing bank debtors list without accuracy check, etc. I criticized these acts not only on NL, but also on the pages of newspapers.

On the Kwara allegation, being from Kwara state myself, I have followed the state's political economy for some time, and I saw plain lies in RP's allegations, hence my putting pen to paper to reply them in something I was sure they lied. The Nation, Daily Trust, Leadership and NVS published the posers.

On the written off of Bukola Saraki's debt, I don't know anything about it except what was raised by RP, and I read Bukola himself's defence in another advertorial few days after RP's. I will not judge who is lying between RP and Bukola because I don't have enough facts. But on the Lai Alabi, Kwara farms stuffs, I know the whole story like the back of my palms, hence my replying RP.

I concluded the piece by telling RP that:
"I don’t have any problem with Renaissance professionals’ fault-finding mission as a fight back for one(or more) of their own that has gone with Hurricane Sanusi, at least it will keep the CBN governor on his toes and make him carefully watch his subsequent actions, but they should remember that the people reading them are not fools. We are people that also follow events independently and some of us cannot fold our arms and swallow their half-truths. If we must criticize, then we must do so with undistorted facts."

I personally don't take RP serious, and few banking top shots I discussed them with, don't too.

QUESTIONS FOR RP

With their criticism of every action taken by SLS, are they telling us that all actions taken so far are bad? Even top economists and bankers give him thumbs up for some of his actions. But to RP, anything SLS says or does is wrong

Why is it that their campaign started after the sack of the bankers, where were they pre-August 14, if they were not on the payroll of one or more sacked bank chiefs?

What is the source of their income, if not from the stolen billions of one or more of the sacked bank CEOs?

I have more questions for them here:

1. Kindly introduce yourself

My name is Taiye Suleiman

2. How did you join NL?

I was searching for something on Mobile Phones and I came about the former Nairaland site i.e http://www.mobilenigeria.com before it was merged with Nairaland. I can't remember vividly now, but I think I registered with the former site before it was merged with nairaland.

3. Do you agree with our list of NL legends or you have suggestions or something to chip in? Or to you, who is the greatest Nairalander of all time?

It is not an easy job to come up with the list, I think you did a great job

Mukina2, George_D,

Since I am equipped with internet ready Desktop in my office, I have time to moderate Nairaland even while at work, and when I get home, I must log in to Nairaland before going to bed. Yes, I do quote nairaland in my daily life and the people around me sure know I visit nairaland.

8. What is the most useful info or knowledge you've gotten from Nairaland? Or better still is there any special thread that has impacted in your life?

Free to Air satellite Television is the best knowledge I acquired from Nairaland. What most people don’t know is that, what DSTV, HITV give out for big money can be gotten free on Satellite. That is what FTA is all about.

9. Which section do you like most?

TV/Movies Section

10. If you are an old Nairalander, i.e 2005-2007 sets, what period on Nairaland do you enjoy most? Or better still, compare NL of today with NL of 3, 4 years.

I still enjoy the old years. People of high intellect and will have visited nairaland and gone. There are those who think Seun did not handle it well and left. But for people like me who migrated from another website to Nairaland, I know he is handling nairaland well.
Nairaland General › Re: 50 Men and Women That Moved Nairaland: 2005-2010 by Jarus(op): 5:49pm On Apr 01, 2010

2, How did you come about the idea of NL?

3, How will you assess NL? Did you envision it being Nigeria's largest forum when you started?

4, What is your plans and vision for NL in the near and distant future?

5, Aside NL, are you into any other business or enterprise?

6, There was a time you were running nairalist, a sister site to NL, where is it now?

7, Many people joined NL through the Jobs/vacancy window. 3, 4 years ago, NL jobs section used to be the destination of many job seekers, with many people confessing their getting job through NL. But the section seems to be losing its steam, what is responsible for this and what are you doing to restore it?

8, You are always a subject of insult from many Nairalanders, how do you manage this? Or better still, many Nairalanders have accused you of dictatorial tendency, what do you have to say on this?

9, There was a recent report that NL is worth N44million, do you agree with this rating?

10, What is your idea of a good forum member?

11, Do you agree with our list of NL legends? Or is there any comment you wish to make on it?

12, Do people around you know you are the brain behind the forum NL? Do people come across you in real life, and maybe seeing your name, say 'hey, so you are the Seun Osewa of NL!'?

13, As NL clocks 5, what message do you have for all members

1, Kindly introduce yourself

My name is Kemi and I'm a bit culturally ambiguous. Sorry, I'm not very much into these self descriptive things so that's how far I can go.

2, How did you join NL?

I was on another forum which had 100% British content, I was looking for a Nigerian alternative when I found NL.

3, Do you agree with our list of NL legends or you have suggestions or something to chip in? Or to you, who is the greatest Nairalander of all time?

I dunno. I have not really looked at the list and I really am not in a position to say who's a 'legend' and who's not.
To some, becomrich is a 'legend' because every nerve in his body is directed towards championing the Oduduwa cause. To others he's an ignorant lunatic. Depends on the people who take these things to heart, I suppose.

4, Who is/are your favourite Nairalander(s)?

Lots of them over the years. Too many to name sef. One thing is for sure though, this place has its fair share of 'typical' Nigerians.

5, What is your assessment of NL as the forum clocks 5?

Lol. Funny question. Its too much of an effort to assess this place. Energy I'm not willing to give.

6, What do you enjoy about NL and how addicted are you to NL?

I like the Fashion section and TV/Movies. If I log on every time I am on the internet, I guess I'm pretty much addicted. So there.

7, How do you juggle between NL and your real life activities? Do you quote NL in your real lief activities? Do people around you knwo you are a a member of NL?

People around me hardly know I am on NL. Only time I quote NL is when there's an extremely funny thread I want my friends to read. It has no part to play in my daily life.

8, What is the most useful info or knowledge you've gotten from Nairaland? Or better still is there any special thread that has impacted in your life?

Ah.

9, Which section do you like most?

I like more than one. Fashion, TV/Movies, Literature. There's no point attempting to be an internet warrior in the Politics and Religious sections. Just makes you look like a mad person when you have to rely on insults to pass across points that were originally useless anyway.

10, If you are an old Nairalander, i.e 2005-2007 sets, what period on Nairaland do you enjoy most? Or better still, compare NL of today with NL of 3, 4 years

I liked NL in 2005-2006.

How did you join NL?

Joined NL when searching for some info for a project in progress.

3, Do you agree with our list of NL legends or you have suggestions or something to chip in? Or to you, who is the greatest Nairalander of all time?

Yes I do to an extent but I think some persons who have contributed immensely to the growth and development of this site where omitted i.e, Michelin, Sam Milla, Miginess, Ituen, Siena etc. The greatest NL  of all time is that individual who has consistently contributed positively and generously in his/her own way to nairaland.

4, What is/are your favourite Nairalanders?

The jokes forum community. And a few others from other forums.

5, What is your assessment of NL as the forum clocks 5?

Nairaland has evolved over time, lots of improvement in terms of quality and informative threads. A big up to the moderators in the various sections, your efforts are speaking for themselves. There is orderliness in the forums except jokes, but Ben-10 and Daniluv are doing their best and things are shaping up there pretty good.

6, What do you enjoy about NL and how addicted are you?

NL affords you the opportunity to explore and express your self in manifold ways, understand the Nigerian mind/mentality and enjoy Nigerian/African humor.

I enjoy the vivacity of other posters, the unpredictability of events and peeps online, outrageous opinions and views on issues, anonymity/ intrigue of some posters are just irresistible. There are threads that once you click on the first page you don’t  even realize you’ve clicked up to the last page.

As for my addiction to NL, it has no antidote, cause I don’t wish to be cured grin

7, How do you juggle between NL and your real life activities? Do you quote NL in your real life activities? Do people around you know you are a a member of NL?

I must admit that most times the amount of time I spend in NL affects my job, I have to pause and make resolutions not to log on to NL, but I find myself logging on against my will. As a human being I don’t have two heads. I don’t quote NL in real life. Only a few of my colleagues know me to be an NL addict, I try to hide that fact from my spouse due to my outlandish, sometimes vulgar mannerisms online grin

8, What is the most useful info or knowledge you've gotten from Nairaland? Or better still is there any special thread that has impacted in your life?

A lot of threads have impacted me positively especially in the family, romance and fashion forums.

9, Your favourite section?

Jokes forum.

10. As an old Nairalander, i.e 2005-2007 set, what period on Nairaland do you enjoy most? Or better stillm, comapre NL of today with NL of 3, 4 years

2007 was so much fun in the jokes forum and I really miss a lot of good guys we started out together.

Final word?

I also want to commend oluwatankyou (seun) for his hard work and passion in ensuring that Nld is up to standard, I wish you success in  actualization of your dreams and objective for NL.

Mr Jarus, how can you do a list of greatest Nairalanders and not include Lawyer? Do you know how many people log on all over the world just to read what lawyer has posted to educate and enlighten people? Do you know how many millions of Naira he has saved people from fraudulent land deals. I know websites that have plagiarized lawyers articles that have been used as authentic sources of information. In short i think he is the most influencial Nairalander of all time and his absence would rob Nairaland of the matured head it truely needs. Because i know there are tens of thousands of people all over the world that are not registered users of Nairaland but log in as guests just to read his articles. This my friend are the real silent heroes of Nairaland and not the immature set that write all this nonsense about intimacy and insult people daily to achieve notoriety. Honour should be given to those who provide stability and an intelligent head. I wont be suprised that because of lawyer, some commissioners, ministers, foreign big wigs etc that are searching for information about landed issues have been driven to Nairaland due to lawyer. He is truely a Nairaland legend and should be recognized thus!
Noted and due respect to Lawyer.

5, What is your assessment of NL as the forum clocks 5?
Assessment? It’s a portal where guys can banter, exchange ideas and be entertained sometimes. I find some of the posts here enlightening and educative too. However, it can be better. Some of our over zealous MODs are making life difficult for me on this blog and I'm gonna show them pepper one day. LOL

6, What do you enjoy about NL and how addicted are you to NL?
I'm addicted already and this thing now makes me close late at work. I close around 8-9 pm daily cos of the precious time I waste posting on NL.

7, How do you juggle between NL and your real life activities? Do you quote NL in your real life activities? Do people around you know you are a a member of NL?
I'm sure I have some common friends with Dayokanu that know our IDs on NL. Sometimes when we go cursing ourselves they wonder if we aint going crazy. My mum and siblings read my posts sometimes too. Anywhere I am, I try to post on NL a day and any day I miss out , I try catching up by asking some close buddies what went down for the day

8, What is the most useful info or knowledge you've gotten from Nairaland? Or better still is there any special thread that has impacted in your life?
The stockmarket thread 07-08. Before I moved to IB, I already learnt some stuffs that are now handy in my day to day work. I can remember peeps like windywendy , easimoni, fatherof2 , aktopgun teaching how to pick stocks fundamentally and technically. I learnt so many technical ways of picking stocks on that thread. Candlestick is ma best weapon now and I use it very well now and I can train peeps on that

9, Which section do you like most?
Sports!!!!

10. As an old Nairalander, i.e 2005-2007 set, what period on Nairaland do you enjoy most? Or better stillm, comapre NL of today with NL of 3, 4 years
When Fasola wanted to contest for elections and some guys came online to expose some of Obanikoros shady pasts. People like Dayokanu and Kitaun were the protagonists in the furore generated as a result of that. Cant remember the IDs of the arrowheads of the other factions (pro Obanikoro)

Islam › Re: Muslims, What's Happening In Your Life? A Brother Needs your Assistance. Page 15 by Jarus(op): 5:46pm On Mar 30, 2010
I got this from a sister who prefers anonymity. Your sincere, honest advice based on Qur'an, Sunnah and useful experience is needed.

Salam alaykum, am a nairaland member and I need this to be posted on the 'muslims, whats happening in your life section'.please let me know if you want it edited.

I come from a traditional Muslim home. The kind where you have to wear your hijab even as a kid and even the one yr old joins in the congregational prayer. A lot has happened in my life that so much affect me now because of my family.

It is a polygamous one and I must tell you that I don’t blame that aspect of Islam for my problems but the truth is, if I can date ever having a problem back, It was when my dad had another wife.

It was the first time I ever knew parents quarrel. To not go into details, a lot happened to my mum, my siblings and I. The effect of these on me especially as female is a wound, hard to heal. I just think speaking out & getting other people’s views while enjoying the anonymity here would help me out.

I say things like I would never ever let what happened to my mum happen to me nor let my children face what I did, No man will ever treat me like that and these have turned me into some kind of strong woman.

A lot of people tell me how nice I am & I Know am very patient with people but when I think marriage and its blues, am something else. In fact, when I think marriage, I think divorce. At least when you are going into something, you should know how to get out of it.

To achieve these, I work hard. I want to make my own money, be independent, resourceful. There is nothing wrong with all of these but mine has got an extra edge.

When I love people, I give them my all- my girl friends, siblings and I so much want to have a good home, the loveliest children, most wonderful mother-in-law. But, I don’t think I’ll be able to put up with the Yoruba belief that the woman has to tolerate the man no matter what, especially for the children’s sake. I just would not be able to tolerate any form of dictatorship over me.

I know I am not alone in this. I have seen girls who have the same thoughts as me. Even my mum never told me not to think this way and I say these to my brothers too. What do you think. Am sure I can do with some useful advice.

Kindly drop your advice if you have any. If you wish like advising the sister off-NL, you may send a mail to jarusnairaland@yahoo.com and I'll link you up.
